Incredible view, beautiful room, thick huge fluffy towels, towel warmer, absolutely the best breakfast ever, great location, friendly staff, great restaurant on site, super clean, comfy beds. One of my top 3 favorite places I've ever stayed! Loved it. My photos in the comments.

I usually stop here for couple of drinks after work and am treated as if I’m a guest the young staff are absolutely superb and it’s such a beautiful location. Many thanks continental staff from Shaun with the big fun red American car 10/10 service.

Stayed for the weekend, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend.

I ate here for dinner Saturday evening, a massive daily specials menu, all cooked on view in the open kitchen. I am extremely fussy but I'd give these guys 10 out of 10. Beautiful fresh food with perfect portion sizes. Going back soon!

Just had a two night stay and I could of quite easily of stayed for a month. Very clean, very friendly, quiet location excellent food. We will return. Thank you.

We stayed in Penny Lodge out the back of the hotel. Seventies decor but instead of feeling dated it sort of felt… themed, which provided some amusement. The place was clean and well equipped, good for three couples however there are only two parking spaces allocated which seems at odds with the capacity of the lodge being reasonably expected to house three pairs of adults.

The restaurant closes earlier than advertised and then cannot recommend any alternatives (even though the ultimately excellent 'The Bubble is less than 20yds away! )

Fantastic breakfasts. Lore tells of how the lady who currently cooks and serves breakfasts here used to own her own café locally, and when she shut up shop the owner of the hotel came-a-knockin' and snapped her up. Great job, she is an asset. Can't believe how fast and calm she is, always keeping up, and never letting standards slip. We'll be back, for breakfast alone!

Lovely place, and food ok too. Seen better years ago. Not enough staff who were rushed off their feet, lots of waiting, lots of items from menu not available. Disappointing. A great refuge from the heat on this day and comfortable as not very busy at all, unlike all other places closer to town.

Popped into the hotel bar on a sunny Saturday afternoon for a G&T and a latte. Absolutely impeccable service from one of your young, male bar staff. So friendly and polite and couldn’t do enough for all the customers. A joy to be in the company of his excellent customer service. Lovely hotel too! ☺️

Sat in the terrace and enjoyed the atmosphere while having an amazing meal. The seafood was fresh and yummy. The service was great and prices were reasonable. I loved that its a mix of a pub / cafe/ restaurant. Lovely!

Stayed Sunday night was lovely but I just wanted to say breakfast was the best I have had while away better than some 5 star hotels and the good choice of fresh fruit and gluten frees was the best I have seen.

Nice room with a good view across to sheppey and a bonus of a refreshing cool sea breeze. Decor muted. Some nice oil paintings of the surrounding area.

Great pla E for a drink or even a great meal. Excellent position on the Waterfont. I highly recommend.

Very good place for a drink or meal. Lovely bright airey interior, right by the beach in Whitstable. Good selection of bar drinks including local beers. Quick efficient service. You can eat in the informal bar area or in the dedicated restaurant area. Good selection of food from snacks to hot meals. Dog friendly. Table seating or settees. Clean surroundings and good air. Enjoy. Never stayed in the hotel section so unable to comment on that.

Great location on beach front. Nice open lounge and bar area. Food was nice and breakfast provided as a buffet. Rooms were well equipped but feedback from a number of guests who were staying commented that the rooms were compact. Still a good hotel and somewhere I would stop again.

We stayed in the Fisherman Huts, all services supplied by the hotel, complete with a complimentary full breakfast for the following day. It was faultless, superb and the breakfast was second to none. We didn't sample the amenities at the hotel but if it is anything like the breakfast service, you can't go wrong. We only stayed one night and I reckon it would take a week to sample all the delights available for breakfast. I know I mention breakfast a lot but after all, it is a hotel and a good breakfast is not only the best meal of the day but it also sets you up for having a great day.

We had a two night stay here, just came back, and honestly it could not have been better. We ate at the Restaurant the first night, Thursday, and the guys doubling up on the Bar/Waiter duties could not have been more efficient, charming or helpful. We had pretty basic dishes — Steak and Fish and Chips — but they were done to a nicety. Oddly, I am guessing this was because the same very talented French Chefs were behind the Dinner as the two extremely accomplished French guys behind the superb Scrambled and Poached eggs — served up with style and dexterity — serving breakfast the next day. The lack of cuisine snobbery — these guys served scrambled eggs for Breakfast as if it was Caviar at Midnight — is just so deserving of the ultimate plaudits — That combination of style, Care *big kudos, too, to the lovely waitress who served us refills of coffee at breakfast too, on the first morning — and wished us the best on behalf of the Hotel, unasked * well, dammit — it really doesn't get any better than this — and Dog Friendly too :)

Stayed in one of the hotel Continental's fisherman's cottages. Very nice and comfortable stay. Good breakfast. The cottage was a bit noisy very thin walls. Would recommend overall.

Great location, really central and right on the seafront. I stayed with my parents and it is so nice to be able to stay in one room with them not have to book two rooms (as I am an only child). The family room was fantastic and gave us all privacy. The staff were very friendly welcoming and helpful. Can't wait to visit again.

Enjoyable stay — food was decent, hotel rate is reasonable and location is good (right on the sea front)

They own the fisherman's huts which we have stayed in so only came here for breakfast as part of the hut deal. Brekkie was v nice but not stayed in the actual hotel. Does look nice though.

Only went for lunch for a birthday as I'm local. I had marinated chicken salad, my husband had the burger. The chicken was cooked really nice and had a really good fresh salad with it. The burger however with the fries was amazing, I did get a taste when my husband said how good it was and it really was. We didn't have a long wait and we were served by a really pleasant young lady. I would definitely recommend the food.

We paid for one of the smaller rooms and it was really tiny — if visiting again id pay for a larger one. The food was lovely had both dinner and breakfast and couldnt fault it. Staff were friendly as well.

Stayed in the beach huts. No 11 to be exact. No sea view. That's where the negativity ends. A 2 floor 2 bedroom hut. 2 tvs, and loads of space. 10 steps away from the beach front, and with a great breakfast. Oh, and the staff were all chatty, and very helpful. A great stay.

We stayed here for one night on Saturday, the staff are very friendly our room was very compact but really nice. The only draw back was having no lift, we were on the top floor so 3 flights of stairs with arthritic knees was a challenge I'd rather not have had, The hotel was was fully booked so couldn't be moved. Breakfast was really good, poached eggs cooked to perfection and bacon nice and crispy. We would definitely stay here again.

Only had breakfast here as stayed in the fisherman's huts just further down the beach but what a great breakfast it was. Beautifully cooked and a fabulous view.

Got beach hut number 11. What it lacked in a sea view, it made up for in comfort, space, and location. 2 double bedrooms, a sofa, 2 TVs, and a kitchen. 5 steps, and you're on the sea front. Just fantastic. Only problem? Not enough time there!

Not tried accommodation but great place to sit with a pint of Whitstable Bay IPA and enjoy a great bowl of Mussels whilst watching the beach and all it's glory.
Thoroughly recommend visiting.

My wife & I had a wonderful time here, the room was lovely, as was the customer service. After a great night's sleep we went down for breakfast which was a buffet, so plentiful that it could easily cater for all tastes, again the service was polite unobtrusive & yet still managed to provide for all our needs. We stayed for one night but hope to return again & for longer.

Popped in for a meal last night and although quite busy had a very pleasant evening. Even though we only had burgers at the bar menu they were the best we have eaten for some time. IPA to wash it down and views across to Essex. Never a disappointment.

A charming hotel with a sea view, we had drinks on the outside terrace on the hottest day of the year. The service is friendly, the toilets immaculate, the range of drinks more than adequate and the price reasonable. Would be happy to come again.

Superb service. Clean and attractive rooms. Very tasty breakfast. Beautiful view. Water pressure on the top floor showers really need to improve. Overall excellent experience.

A very nice, well maintained and quiet hotel with a rich breakfast buffet. Parking a few steps away from the hotel. The freshly caught oysters are a must (who likes), as had three variations: raw, gratin and deep-fried. Raw was of course the most delicious, gratin was good and fried does not go at all, these are the proverbial pearls in front of the swine.

Stayed one night in an upgraded room with a sea view. Very small but well designed room with a good sized en-suite. The binoculars were a nice touch but wardrobe was a little awkward to access. Our lunch and breakfast was very tasty. All staff and particularly the receptionists were a delight; friendly and helpful. Hope to return.

Sadly only stayed for one night, my room had a lovely view out across sea, would have loved more time to sit on the balcony with a cuppa or glass of wine. The reception staff were a pleasure, and made us feel very welcome,
The night porter who let us back in quite late was also very friendly.
The breakfast was first clas, and again all the staff in the dining area were friendly and welcoming.
This is I think a hotel whose staff must be treated well simply because each person I met had a smile,

Nice hotel, recently refurbished, the room we had was nice but very small more like a single room, and expensive for the size and the shower is not very efficient, it seems strange to have new fittings and not check the water pressure is adequate — Also lots of stairs — Breakfast anstaff are nice.

Good service and great views. Relaxing place for a drink or something to eat.

Possibly slghtly overpriced for what you get, however, if you can get one of the main rooms witha balcony overlooking the sea you won't be disapointed.

Location maybe a little away from main whitstable but food and service was good.

Lovely friendly Boutique style hotel. Many of the rooms have been tastefully refurbished and the Fisherman's Huts are great for families. The food is tasty and well presented and the staff are really friendly (special mention should be made of reception who always welcome us with a smile! ). Great Hotel, but book early, especially around the Oyster festival!

Very nice hotel, right by the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was really good. Had a room that was billed as non-refurbished but we thought was nice and spacious with a really comfy bed. Recommended!

Just returned from an enjoyable stay at the Continental (despite the desperate weather). I would recommend the place as clean, well positioned for the beach (right out front) and town just a 5min walk away. The place is clearly undergoing a phased refurbishment which is clean and fresh and nicely appointed. This fact was pointed out on more than one occasion when booking so we knew what to expect. Even the older rooms looked comfortable, if a little 'used' shall we say. Our seaview double room had wood flooring, new shower/toilet fittings, large TV/Wi-Fi and proper shutters on the windows which was a nice period touch. We were attending a wedding and had booked for one night only, we then decided to extend our stay to a second night, but opted for a cheaper room. The hotel management offered us the same room for the cheaper price (to save us and them the trouble of moving) which was a generous gesture and very welcome. Receptions rooms are large and comfortable, with a lounge bar, comfy sofas and huge seaview windows (so we enjoyed the view in the dry). The all important breakfast was self-service and couldn't be faulted in any department. Fresh fruit, cereals and a good choice of cooked breakfast food, their sausages were high quality and not the usual cheap rubbish. The night porter was on duty when we arrived back after midnight and was most helpful, as were all the staff.

Lovely place with delicious food!

My wife and I have just had a lovely quite weekend at this hotel and was very pleased with the room, service and general area. Anyone can pick fault with anywhere but I found little wrong for the price we paid the room was quite small with nowhere to sit but not a problem. The staff where all very good as was the food, I think the only down side was there was no residents lounge to be able to read at evening time away from the main bar and eating area, but I do understand space might be a problem. All in all a very good weekend we would return if there was more to do in Whitstable thank you again and best wishes.

Good food ruined by lazy and inattentive service. Disappointed.

This is the second time we have stayed here and they are currently in the process of refurbishing. This is a wonderful location. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a newly refurbished room with a sea view and balcony; these are tastefully decorated in keeping with the location and very well equipped. Little understaffed while we were there and the bar shut a tad early. Would return to see total refurb.

I do enjoy going into the hotel to eat' the food is really lovely as is the wine and the atmosphere.

Good food not cheap but good will return.

The Fisherman's hut made the whole trip. What a different place to stay. Our 7 year old loved it. The Hotel breakfast was excellent, great Chef.
