Just back from a night in the hotel, food was lovely, room with a view — shame about the storm, but managed a walk the following morning to work off the lovely breakfast. Very quiet and good service.

Nice place and the staff are very friendly but I don’t think it is for the working man to stay.

Its a Gem. Been coming for years. Can't say a bad word about the place or owners or staff. Get a good walk in before breakfast thats all ill say. If they do cream teas in summer walk there and back. They do evening meals which we have never stayed for but if the smell as we go for fish and chips at the Pilot are anything to go by your in for a treat. The owners and staff are the best.

A slice of heaven. The location is mesmerising and the hotel itself is charming. The food is exquisite, from the freshly baked pastries at breakfast to the lovely prepared nightly dinner — you eat what you are given, but luckily it is all delicious! The owner did assume I was pregnant at check-in, because I was wearing a 'tight dress'… Hopefully she will not make the same mistake again as it is incredibly risky to assume a someone is pregnant based on their appearance. A small unimportant detail in an all-round fantastic stay.

Without doubt one my favourite places I have stayed. Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by Lisa (owner), I was shown to my room and I was delighted it had a homely feel, with beautiful views over the sea. Lisa and her husband Clinton are extremely friendly, and nothing appears to much trouble. The restaurant is very flexible (appreciated this! ) I wanted to eat out for lunch on a couple of occasions and an alternative light snack (sandwiches /cheese board) were prepared and presented beautifully for me in the evening and deserves a special thanks. I would however, highly recommend eating in the restaurant as the food is first class. The honesty bar is an interesting concept, but appears to work well. I had 4 great evenings here, and beautiful weather which obviously added up to a great experience. All the little extras in the room are a nice touch. The place is spotless clean, with fresh white, good size fluffy towels, supplied daily, in addition a bathrobe, plus the room is made up and refurbished with a good selection biscuits, coffee and teas, with the addition of bottled water. Breakfast is absolutely great with fresh locally sourced produce. 

 Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the owners Lisa and Clinton who do a great job here; a true example of excellent hospitality!

What a wonderful experience we had at Romney Bay for my 40th birthday weekend. Lisa and Clinton were warm and patient hosts — the communication with Lisa throughout was faultless, the food was incredible and they were very accommodating with my rather rowdy group of guests. The hotel and location are gorgeous — I can't recommend this place enough if you need somewhere to host a special occasion for family and friends. A big thank you from us all : —)

Outstanding weekend house party to celebrate a 90th Birthday family event — fantastic delivery by the whole Romney Bay House team. Excellent service to a high standard, but friendly and without fuss. Afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast excellent. Home from home feel. A lovely time!

Just had a 60th birthday weekend at the hotel and it was absolutely fantastic. We took over the whole hotel and had an amazing afternoon cream tea followed by a fabulous four course meal in the evening. The breakfast was awesome too so thanks to Lisa and Cilnton for all their hard work — made my birthday very special.

I stayed for one night when exploring the area on the steam railway, which stops very close to the hotel. The food was excellent, the evening meal featured local Romney lamb and was sublime. I had a sea view which was superb — the hotel is right on the beach which is great for an evening stroll before bed. The room was comfortable and the shower was outstanding :) I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. If you're travelling on your own and want to keep to yourself then this place is great as you get your own table, although you can mingle with the other guests in the shared areas. Really enjoyed it, a lovely end to a day's exploring and a great start to another! :) Thanks! John.

Just come back from an overnight stay and will definitely be returning to this charmingly beautiful, outstandingly furnished hotel. The location allows for a real 'getting away from it all' feel, the owners and team are friendly and super efficient. The views are second to none, the food is lovely and we will be both not only returning but recommending this incredible find to our friends and family. Beryl & Susan Wardle.
