I can highly recommend the alcoholic afternoon tea. Great selection of cakes and sandwiches and an extensive list of cocktails to choose from nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

We had a really lovely meal here. Staff were out all the time cleaning tables down, everything was well organised. Food quality was excellent. Can't wait to come back!

The food was great last night when we ate here we ordered 2 sharing platters between the 4 of us for ‘Starters’ they were plentiful on the own would highly recommend this place.

A smartly decorated gastro pub with welcoming and friendly staff. Good selection of drinks, enticing menu and food was very good. Will certainly be visiting again.

Most definitely recommend staying here. Tasteful eclectic decor, extremely friendly staff, great atmosphere in the bar. Wide selection of drinks served in the correct glass — big plus for me. Clean spacious well decorated rooms with proper coffee!
Will definitely come again.

Staff confused — poor service — had to ask for sugar bowl — no fresh cream — table not laid correctly — food expensive — place needs updating — baby change should be separate from the ladies room — dog in the restaurant — waitress arms covered in tattoos.

I had afternoon tea at the castle to day for my mums 70 th it was absolutely fabulous they set up the decorations, which looked great, and the food was superb, we had a lovely time there.

Absolutely love this place x service great and food exceptional … so relaxed, everyone a great team. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning restaurant and sunday lunch was absolutely delightful, felt like I was eating a roast my nan used to make proper home cooked. Brillant service. 10 out of 10 would recommend this restuarnt to anyone.

What a lovely little hotel… However, completely spoiled by the most awful, and incompetent staff, don’t under any circumstances stay here, if you want a nice breakfast, that’s not deep fried… and any standard of table service… Room was clean and tidy, just very very small bed if your over 5ft best of luck… my feet were through the metal at the base of the bed…! Also was not happy about the black bags in the hall way with rubbish in and also the ladders left beh…ind the door, covered in paint… Stay elsewhere… I give this a 5/10 score… could be awesome with the correct personnel and chef!

Beautiful village and the hotel is excellent, great food. Stayed just one night not enough. They have a great way giving more than most places give.

Come here usually on regular basis but there was a confusing on my visit today with a bill something minor which the lady who made the mistake resolved quickly and was lovely shame to say for the other girl who came from the kitchen her attitude was embarrassing and didn't represent the pub very well. I was appalled that considering she was cooking our food there was no hair net worn either. Won't be returning unless they look into some of the staff who ruin it for the others. Such a shame.

I stayed here for three nights. I liked The Castle Hotel very much. I stayed with my two dogs and family members. The Hotel is very dog friendly. The room we had was lovely and had character which was great plus a big bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities were appreciated. Perhaps the best bit about The Castle Hotel is the restaurant. Food was great, we had dinner one night and was very happy with it. Breakfast again was awesome and plenty of it. I would definately stay again when in the area.

Beds very comfortable and rooms have plenty of room. As for food, it has amazing coffee and has a cereal dispenser's so you can get it yourself. It has a very good variety of food on the menu. On the tables there are small jars for jam, honey and marmalade.

The food and drink are always good in the castle always worth a visit.

Just got home from a stay at the castle hotel. All the staff were great and very helpful. The room was fantastic. We only had to ask for something and it was there for us. Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks again for making our stay a happy one rob golding and kath allsopp.
