Great experience yesterday — the service was amazing (thanks Charlie) and the food was excellent. They also cater to kids with a fantastic choice of food and drinks with both toddler and child-sized portions. We will definitely be back!

Having been to The Vineyard a couple of times and not eaten the best food I was hoping this time would be different but sadly not. Being vegan our choices are somewhat limited anyway which is fine and I commend them for having a few options which was great. I’d also like to add that my husband and mum very much enjoyed their quinoa burger. I must just choose badly because I had something from the nibbles and starters and both left a lot to be desired. The pumpkin hummus, vegetables and flatbread was almost inedible. Bland was an understatement, I think the carrots must’ve been frozen as they were watery and the hummus had no flavour. My pakoras were more like falafel which isn’t a bad thing but we’re really dry. I really wanted to be able to enjoy and support them but they left one person to serve our area and we sat with our plates on our table so long I had to ask for them to be removed. We gave up on the idea of dessert or anything else because no one came and asked. Such a shame but I’m not going to be going back anytime soon!

Train it's staff on the danger of feeding people food they cannot eat.

We won the night stay and 3 course meal to include cheese fondue and it was absolutely amazing! The room was beautiful and very clean! Staff were all very polite and made sure we were comfortable and happy at all times. And the food was fantastic couldn’t fault it at all! Will definitely be recommending and hope to come again later on in the year. Thank you so much.

Great Atmosphere, good food and lovely decor!

Just had a very nice dinner with my husband, daughter and parents-in-law. I had the Vegan Quinoa Burger and as dessert the chocolate & caramel brownie. These were just great, I really liked them and can recommend them to everyone.

Just had a really lovely Sunday Lunch here. Simply great food atmosphere and location. Staff helpful and friendly and although busy maintained that attentive stance. Only thing I did not like was my Yorkshire pudding was over done. Still yummy though :) The beef I had was lush and overall really enjoyed this first visit! Must go again :)

First time for us this afternoon — absolutely gorgeous pub lovely garden great atmosphere very friendly had a lovely lunch at the outdoor shack bar really enjoyable — usually visit the Poacher and Partridge at Tudeley which is owned by the same people that’s fab too and local to us — but we will defo be back to Vineyard again soon!

When we arrived it was just wow, what an amazing set up wonderful place.

Had a lovely family celebration today. Very impressed with the quick and attentive service and delicious roast dinner and puddings. Will definitely be back to try some of the pizzas in the lovely garden area.

My husband and I returned back to The Vineyard last night for a ‘date night’ while the the children were with their grandparents, and we were not disappointed with their warm welcome, excellent service and tasty food! They even surprised me with how accommodating they were when I didn’t enjoy a bottle of wine that I had chosen. The waiter poured the wine and invited me to check it was to my palate. In truth, I didn’t really enjoy it, but in typical English fashion, I was too polite to say no, so I replied with ‘yes thank you’. But the waiter must have read my face and later returned with an alternative bottle for me to try, informing me that the grapes from this particular wine actually originated from the vineyard site itself. I preferred this wine (Chapel Down for a point of reference) and the waiter switched the bottles of wine without any fuss; making me a very satisfied customer. High recommendation.

Appalling service and treatment from a number of staff was dreadful, I suggest urgent staff training is needed. Had 2 bad meals here before, thought would give it a 3rd go, as people seem to talk highly of it, but after waiting an hour for food, mistake after mistake was made and dealt with very badly, thankyou Greg, one of the assistant managers, for showing you cared and gave us a refund, which was appreciated, but wont be returning again, we particularly needed a nice relaxing meal after an 8 hour day in hospital today!

My local pub, good quality food and drink with an excellent atmosphere and class. Food is good but does not live up to its price point. Has great events and is dog friendly.

Nice country pub with a playground. Very relaxed place, highly recommended to stay outside during summer. Tasty food and local beer.

Lovely place to stay! We stayed for two nights and we’re sad to leave this place. I especially loved the evenings as the atmosphere was so relaxed. Nice music on the background and lovely lights (and yes it helped that we had such a lovely warm weekend! )

Went to the vineyard after a saturday dog walk. Very busy but got a table in the garden. Really good service lots of staff. Drinks and food arrived quickly. Lovely food and Harvey's on tap. Would recommend.

Lots to like here. Good food and drink. Plenty of space plus a large car park. Great for a hot sunny day it in beer garden which has it's own bar. Nice touch.

Lovely setting and drinks great, however had the mixed grill tonight and was so poor. Had about a quarter of chicken breast, a mouthful of lamb and the steak smelt and tasted of fish where I pressume they cooked it in the same pan or grill as the prawns my partner had. I know I am not alone with my opinion. The setting made up for a very poor dinner.

Beautiful and tranquil place to visit. There is a big backyard where your kids and pets can play and where you can relax on a deck chair with a pint or a cocktail in your hand. There is a vineyard at the back, where you can have a walk and admire an absolutely breath-taking scenery. I highly recommend! :)

Booked at the last minute after a long and beautiful day at Bewl Water… Turned out to be a great decision. The location is beautiful, entry into the car park through a road surrounded by vineyards. Beautiful outdoor seating and really nice seating indoors too. We were given a table inside with a nice view out into the garden area. Fish and chips … Beautiful! Crisp on the outside and flaky on the inside. Loved it, will definitely go again and sample more of the menu.

Friendly staff who were very nice to our two small (and wriggly) children. Play area outside. Nice food and good selection of drinks. Good choice for a special night out.

Love this place, so good for dates and visits with families. It has a large garden with play equipment, a nice seating area away from this for adults without children. It has a well priced children's menu and stocks locally produced wine from Chapel Down.

I came for lunch with my mum. It’s a very nice pub with a really nice atmosphere and very nice staff. The food was amazing and fairly priced. I will certainly be going back.

Came across this place on open table. Beautiful setting with a fantastic outdoor area which will be quite special through the summer months. Open fire place to which we enjoyed a good Sunday roast and beers. Service was attentive but not up to scratch and some of the food arrived a little more room temperature than piping hot. None the less a very fair bill for what we received and we look forward to returning again.

Excellent food with good service. We were in a party of eight on a large round table which worked extremely well. We will certainly go again.

Friendly, efficient service. Stopped in during a walk through the vineyards and local villages for soup and a beer. Absolutely delicious.

Very tasty sunday roast and partridge dish! The service was quick and kind. The place is very cozy.

Beautiful food and so cosy with log burner and Christmas trees.

Over priced. Slow service. Poor attention to cooking standards. Venison burger that was so over cooked. Roast lamb that was almost all fat. Duck breast overcooked when we told that the chef cooked medium rare. Save your money go elsewhere.

It's really nice but it's full of yuppies and I'm not corporate enough to fit in.

We was out having a ride with my wife in to the countryside on a beautiful warm sunny day and on the lookout for a pub restaurant for Sunday roast when we came across The Vineyard. Going by how popular it looked out by the amount of people sat outside supping beer, we decided to pull in. The large car park was quite full, but still plenty of space. It certainly was busy, inside and out in the large garden with play area for children. The building and grounds were very clean and well presented.
It was with some relief to be greeted with a friendly smile by a member of staff, which sometimes can be absent from those with prejudices towards those wearing motorcycle leathers. Considering how busy it was, the staff were coolheaded, helpful and very polite. We placed our order for two lamb roast dinners which was reasonably priced and sat outside, expecting and prepared for a long wait for our dinners to arrive. We was again, surprised by how quickly our food was brought to our table. The drinks were chilled, and the food was exceptionally tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend to others. Would definitely consider returning if in the area again.

All I can say is "frustratingly disappointing". We had a table booked for 2:45 on Sunday afternoon and never having been before arrived a little early to have a drink before our meal, we had 4 children with us so we're keen to be at our table on time. We made ourselves known when we arrived and were told they would come and get us when the table was ready. We had to chase up 3 times as the time ticked by, at no point did anyone apologise and we were seated at 3:15 — half hour later than booked. It then gets more frustrating — the service is appalling, the staff were miserable and seem to be aggravated by each other, we had to ask to place our order, we had to chase up our drinks, then had to ask that could we at least have some bread for the children — by 4:30 our mains had only just come out and as usual I had the steak — inedible as it was covered in salt. We complained to the manager who was very standoffish and had to push to get the steak taken off the bill! Oh. And to finish it off we even had to ask 3 times for the bill so we could pay them money for this awful experience. I have to say I was gutted, I had heard such great things and first impressions were really good, it has so much potential but the staffing ratio to number of guests clearly needs addressing — if you can't serve customers don't take so many bookings!

Having had a very good experience when we celebrated my 80th Birthday last year with a lunch for 12 my children decided they would take me for a Fathers' Day breakfast. It was an experience I would not repeat. The service was poor to say the least. It was difficult to catch the waiters and even when we ordered anything like more coffee or orange juice we didn't receive it until much later having reminded them. The quality of the food was indifferent. The sausages were under cooked and the toast was not browned. My daughter ordered Eggs Benedict and the bun on which it was served was absolutely solid. It couldn't be cut. Perhaps it had been microwaved from frozen but it was solid. I forgot to mention the streaky bacon which was under cooked and greasy. Having breakfasted in Florida on many occasions I can say this compared very unfavourably. You can do better.

Just spent 2 nights at the Vineyard, absolutely loved it, lovely room, with lovely winding staircase. Staff were lovely, rooms fabulous. We had a beautiful meal on tues 6th July, in the restaurant, food was superb, I'd give this place 10 stars great price, we would definitely come back, thank you to the great staff, who couldn't do enough for you. We stayed for our 2nd anniversary in the Bewl suite. Lovely place, lovely room, lovely atmosphere. We were disappointed with a few things, we sat having dinner on the patio to our room and on 2 separate occasions had people try walk into our room thinking it was the toilet, we felt exposed & on view, there was no privacy. There was no instructions in the room of what to do if needing someone overnight. Otherwise I would recommend!

Incredible food, so pleasantly surprised by how great it was. Nice outdoor area for kids and sitting in the sun, quick and friendly service, if you are in the area I couldn't recommend it more.
