Great Groupon Afternoon Tea everything so fresh. Lovely Social distanced surroundings, we were not at all rushed, A lovely way to spend an afternoon, we will def be back if Covid rulings allow.

Had a lovely afternoon tea. Scones were lovely and so were the cakes and fresh sandwiches. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous Hotel. Lovely staff and great food.

We went on a particularly quiet day as we were the only three there. The salon was well appointed. The selection of tea, cakes and sandwiches might have been a little uninspired but were tasty nonetheless. We used a Groupon which allowed us the enjoy afternoon tea at a reasonable rate. Even without the Groupon their usual cost is not outrageous. If you're looking to do tea while in scenic old Canterbury this is a good choice.

The staff are amazing. The reception staff and bar staff can't do enough for you. Went at new year's then went back a week ago. I am very fond of lovely Andy behind the bar. My husband was ill over new year's so Andy made sure that he made me feel welcome while been downstairs on my own. Lovely place.

Hard to know what to write. Overall the hotel is fine. Clean, easy to find and with pleasant staff. However it does have something of a Fawlty Towers vibe about it, design wise. Car park is poorly planned out and a struggle to get in and out. Breakfast was passable — would nom again.

The hotel is very traditional in its decor which suits the building which is a change to more modern short stop over hotels. Though a bit dated it was extremely clean and the staff were helpful and attentive. The first night we stayed we noticed that the walls were extremely thin (a dog yapping constantly upstairs) and doors banging in the corridor did wake us earlier than we wanted. The bed also gave me a bad back, but a quick chat to reception and we were moved to a different room which was better and offered with a smile. On a more positive note the hotel was a perfect walking distance from the town centre, there was ample free parking on site, and the cost was cheap in comparison to others (breakfast is extra if you need it). On the whole the hotel has a bit of a split personality. It has the building, location and infrastructure to be an expensive and prestige hotel, however it offers no more than a Premier Inn in terms of room comfort/facilities. In all 3 stars as there is nothing majorly wrong with it, but nothing outstanding either.

We got married at Abbots Barton last month and it truly was the best location we could have ever hoped for. We had an international wedding so we needed a hotel to accommodate everyone and from start to finish the staff at Abbots Barton were absolutely incredible. Emma our coordinator has gone above and beyond to make sure all our guests were taken care of and I don't know if it all have been as perfect as it was without her. The venue is beautiful, the food was delicious and the people there like a second family. If you are looking for a venue where you will feel like part of the family, then Abbots Barton is the perfect place for you. No other place will compete! Lovely place to stay in a good location and not far from Canterbury centre. Great large room and very clean, breakfast was first class with friendly staff to wait on you. Would return again for another weekend.

If you want to visit Canterbury and you are looking for somewhere to park your car, this could be for you. The hotel from the outside looks good and just about gets away with its 3 Star rating. Having had a working life spent in 3star hotels, this was at the lower end of the scale. For those with walking difficulties it is on the cusp of being too far from everything, but the distance to the Cathedral was fine. A good Chinese buffet is just down the road, but needs to be booked in advance. We were warned about the possibility of loud music from a wedding party, but we were not bothered at all by that. It did present a full restaurant for Sunday morning breakfast, with other guests taking a chair from our table and almost our cutlery whilst getting our meal.

Hotel was fine and perfectly ok for an overnight stay in Canterbury. The hotel is an easy 10-15 minute walk into the city centre which has plenty of bars and restaurants. The hotel decor is quite dated and few of the fittings were a little loose but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was nice enough, pretty standard fare. Overall, would recommend if you are looking for a good value overnight stay.

Went there for training with Young Minds. The service was amazing and the hotel spotless. Also we had delicious vegetarian sandwiches. It was all very well thought out.

Clean, quiet and efficient staff. It's located on a prime property. The rugs in the communal areas need changing and for now there's no gym or spa which brings down it's rating. Otherwise it's a lovely, quiet spot to stop over at.

Really nice hotel with good range of great properly cooked fresh breakfasts. Ideally located if you have to drive in the morning as you won't get stuck in the busy Canterbury traffic. Close enough to walk to town and all the lovely pubs and restaurants but quiet enough for a trouble free sleep.

Fabulous hotel close to town. Lovely staff. Dean on Reception and the breakfast staff made us especially welcome. Plus lots of nooks and crannies where you can sit in comfy chairs and watch the wildlife. Plenty of dogs.

Lovely place, walked into town to go to the Marlowe theatre. Such friendly staff and Lovely clean rooms.

Lovely Hotel. Great Location. Only let down sadly was food received was incorrect and not to the standard you would expect for the prices charged. Would recommend. Would stay there again.

I have been here with colleagues and we spent a lovely time at the characteristic hotel with its unique carpet walls and its small hallways. The bar is great, you can sit on one of the sofas in one of the rooms and just enjoy the English way. I cannot however recommend the food which from my experience is not worth the price you pay.

Absolutely beautiful. Nice and clean. Food lovely. Staff were so polite and helpful and really ad us fell at home. Nice and quite too. Good night's sleep. In the process of booking up to go again.

The hotel with its carpets and the historic buildings in which the reception and bar is convinced me during our 4 days stay in Canterbury. The rooms are tidy and very lovely. They continue the Charme of the hotels public rooms. However, I'd recommend eating out in Canterbury with its lovely restaurants and bars as the food can barely keep up with the rest of the hotel.

Hotel is a little gem in Canterbury — lovely function room beautifully decorated. Rooms were comfortable. Service okay.

Went to the abbots Barton hotel for a works Christmas meal. Lots of people attended this event and were all placed into one small room. One group of guessed were seated in this room and were then moved to another room. Meal was avridge with a double helping of parsnips. One on the meal and the other as part of the vegetables. Christmas pudding was sent back for being to salty. While mince pies were lacking in filling. There was a photo booth there for people to use for some fun Christmas photos. But when we went to try at 11.00 it was being dismantled. The event was on till 12.00 midnight. I will not nor will the other people I went with to the abbots Barton hotel with will ever attended a function there again.

1. ) Parking for my car free of charge. Close to the centre. Hotel perfectly renovated in English style. Suitable for older people who do not attach value to Tam! Tam and other sounds. In my room it was quiet at night. Negative: The view in the window to the backyard.

It is a beautiful hotel, some rooms of the most beautiful and it is also super close to everything.
Port is very good and Manuel is very nice.

We had a quick overnighter at the Abbots Barton. Booking was easy, when we arrived, we were given an upgrade which was nice. Room was lovely and clean, nice and warm, very comfortable. Had lovely dinner in the restaurant, very tasty, beautifully cooked. Well stocked breakfast buffet, plenty of choices. Can't recommend enough, hotel is a characterful building, none of this eurobox stuff, it's got real personality.

Friendly staff and great welcome. Room comfortable and had old school charm although bathroom really does need a little updating it all functioned perfectly well. Reasonable choice at breakfast from hot buffet. I ate in the restaurant — delicious pork chop that was cooked perfectly!

Great hotel for price. Food was fantastic, we couldn't ask for better. Will stop here again.

Nice decor, clean bathroom and very comfy beds. Room was a little difficult to navigate to but got there in the end, fancy lift was cool.

We arrived at the hotel in a rush as we needed to get to a wedding reception. Went to have showers to find out we were only given 1 towel to begin with as they forgot to put another in the room. When we got back at 11:45 the doors were looked and after ringing the doorbell 50 odd times and banging on the glass for 10 minutes someone finally came and didn't even apologise while we waited in the rain outside. Was only meant to be somewhere to stay for the night but wish I stayed in the Travelodge round the corner.

Good location, quiet, cosy room and good bed. Hectic situations when taking breakfast and we experienced the same when taking a dinner. Restaurant: complete lack of respect for the food and its serving.

The location was great, only a 15 minute walk from Canterbury Cathedral. The room was fine, big enough for two, and very warm! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful… parking on site was not an issue. The building is beautiful from the outside, and maybe just a little run-down on the inside.

Attended for a company training day. The room was very pleasant and ornate overlooking the groundsgrounds. The staff were helpful and polite. Excellent location so close to the city but set back from the road in grounds that could let you believe you're in the countryside.

Friendly, warm and clean hotel. Helpful and kind staff always willing to help. Well equiped room, tradicional but refurbished and well maintained. Good location to visit tree town and free carpark. Only two cons. The mattress was too weak and the water taps a bit stiff. I will return.

Staff helpfull but short stay turned into a nightmare still will wait for response from head office before I review as hopefully they will give us feedback as to why the evening went badly wrong hi folks as promised an update sorry it's very late and I have to give credit were it's due as our weekend was addressed on the Monday and adjacent to praise Mr cotman he in my opinion handeld it spot on got the feedback from both sides and not what I expected but he was very honest in hes review of the situation and we are grateful of the outcome a lesson to much bigger chains and companies and small ones as the customer gets there say and if right feeling looked after and valued is worth more than any monertey compensation and as a result we Will be staying at a best Western hotel again.

Love the homely feeling of this place! The personnel are super friendly and very professional. Breakfast has always been amazing and very good. I did try the restaurant before, we did not like the food but it seems they changed the kitchen and chef and the food is almost as good as we would have in London with the Michelin starred chefs. Amazingly good!

We were treated to a night at this hotel by our two daughters. A delightful experience, staff were very helpful and courteous, room was very clean, comfortable and cosy, breakfast was fantastic, could not believe the vast choice of food and the staff made us very welcome and worked very hard to make our stay a very special experience. Our thanks to all the staff who made our stay so special.

I've used the Best Western Abbots Barton on a number of occasions for breakfast and lunch meetings with clients or for infomal coffee meetings. The food has always been great, the staff friendly and the environment calm and relaxed. Highly recommended for your business meetings.

Excellent restaurant, if a little pricey; very short walk from the city center.
