We booked and paid for a standard room at @LuccombeManor but instead we got a loft room, at level 3 with no lift 😠
Management was not helpful and to some level rude, laughing at us and only offering cancellation, leaving us with no place to stay for the night.
We had no choice to stay. Sad to have this experience visiting the for the first time.

Great sea view and good decor and pleasant staff.

Amazing beautiful house on the cliff top in Shanklin. Beautiful gardens, scenery out to sea. Love that interconnected with the luccombe hall hotel and have use of the facilities there as well. Clean comfy modern bedroom. We will def be back again.

I would highly recommend, Lovely place with beautiful views, the staff couldn't of been more welcoming and so polite, the only thing which has left me with a little bit of a bitter taste is the extra £40 (£20 a night weekend supplement) which was in the small print which I missed, not sure why they can't give you a total price when paying instead of stinging you at checkout.

We always stay at either Luccombe manor or hall when visiting the island. Just love the location on the cliff top. Beautiful views. Fantastic beach. Love Luccombe village and Shanklin. We stayed at the manor in aug 2019. Food was very good. Staff were lovely. The outdoor pool was great. Can't fault it!

Very friendly staff. Very helpful. First time staying here. We hope come back soon. Lot think for children to do.

Quiet sea side traditional hotel, we had a sea facing room, it was comfortable with everything you needed and an amazing view out to sea. An ideal base to explore the island from. Friendly staff and good food.

My father and I enjoyed a few days of sightseeing on the Isle of Wight and our stay at this hotel made our holiday. The staff made us very welcome, the food fantastic and the rooms very clean and comfortable. Look forward to staying again soon.

This hotel has been perfect for our weekend away. It’s in a tucked away location but when you arrive you arrive to a spectacular building and a stunning view and surroundings. In the summer I can imagine it’s perfect with the pool, hot tub and jacuzzi open. There is a swimming pool that you can use but it’s in the next sore hotel. The food on the evening was a bit of a random selection but was nice. The room we had was big with a super king bed and a skyline window so we could look out at night. I would happily come back here.

Most disappointed with the drive and the main door, needs a lot of attention. We were put in the roof room which we had so many stairs to climb, and in your 60's we found rather hard. We asked if there was a lift, to be told No, and no offer of help with our case. The hotel needs lots of attention in the decor. The morning staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was excellent. Too far from the shops and the beach. Not elderly people friendly. Wouldn't stay here again.

Booked to stay in this hotel for a family holiday but upon arrival we were treated so badly we had to find a different hotel to stay in last minute. We briefly saw the rooms and facilities and feel as though we were misled by pictures on the website and the advertising of a “four star” hotel. The place is run down and seemingly poorly looked after and we unfortunately experienced unkind staff with a bad attitude.

Lovely family friendly hotel, breakfast good selection and excellent standand, evening meal outstanding as good as 5 star. Staff friendly especially Marie Charlotte and Karl they went out of their way. We will return.

My husband and I stayed from Sunday 8th to Wednesday 11th of July for a quick break — this was my first trip to the IOW, and I loved it — it's so lush and green and pretty, the coast is stunning, plus, the weather was amazing! The hotel is secreted away quite privately, has beautiful gardens and a stunning seascape view. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming; the food was excellent and the portions were generous; our room was a decent size and nicely turned out with masses of cupboard/hanging space (though we didn't need it for our short stay), but the bathroom was a bit stifling in the heat! Our generous bay window overlooked the pool, hot tub and jacuzzi and part of the gardens which backed by trees and miles of sea. We spent quite a lot of time swimming and lazing in the hot tub or jacuzzi which was fantastic in the heat after sightseeing and taking the husband's auntie (who lives on the island) out to lunches. Shanklyn itself is quaint, a really pretty place with a traditional feel. We would definitely like to return to the island, to Shanklyn and to this hotel! Plus it's dog friendly which I will have to tell dog owning family members about so they can have a break away too.

Just spent a weekend here, really lovely surroundings and a beautiful view was worth paying a bit extra for. The rooms could be better soundproofed and spruced up a bit but ultimately didn't matter too much. The food for dinner was really good, breakfast not quite as good but standard full English. We would return!

The hotel is located quite close to shanklin beach. Climb down 155 steps and u reach the beach. We had booked a triple room with sea view and trust me the view was amazing! The rooms were decent for the money we paid. Could have been better and a bit quieter. Breakfast was simple yet good.

Came here on Sunday with my friends and sat in the tea garden. Lovely food, nice relaxing atmosphere, lovely sea views, friendly staff and a beautiful resident dog called max the malamut! The only downside was the menu was a bit limited with only sarnies and paninis to choose from but a big choice of fillings which is fine if yr just wanting a light lunch/snack. They also do a selection of coffee/tea which I didn't have but will def return to this hidden gem!

We booked this through Groupon for 3 nights, and for £269 we had bed and breakfast, a 2 course meal for the first night and our ferry crossing included. Our twin room had a sea view because we upgraded by paying another £65. Our overall view was that the stay was ok. Food was ok, service was ok, rooms ok. Although we found our beds very uncomfortable. Overall if we had paid full price we would have been disappointed, and certainly would have complained about the beds. Otherwise it was ok!

A lovely little hotel right on the cliff top at Shanklin and right next to the Chine. Food is good and the service is friendly.

Faded glory in the main building; cheaper rooms are in a single-glazed 1970s extension. Clean with good bathrooms. Perfectly adequate if you get it cheap. Breakfast above average.

I was there in the area on a business trip and stayed around 10 days (2x5) in this hotel. The price in November for a standard double room was absolutely ok and the room was clean. On my second stay I have to admit the heating was not working properly so I called the reception and they immediately arranged an additional heat source. The breakfast was good with a beautiful view to the see. There are also quite a few park spaces as well. All in all this hotel offers decent services for a good price.

My husband and I have just been for tea here. It was a kind gift for my birthday from a very good friend. We arrived 35 minutes early for our booking at 4pm as we were unable to go for a walk due to rain. We were thinking we could have a plesant drink in the hotel whilst waiting for tea. As we approached Reception two membsrs of staff were leaning over the desk talking — one of them said very offhandedly 'you are early aren't you'? My husband replied we would like a drink before tea if that was alright. When we finally got to our table the tea was cold, the sandwiches roughly put together very unprofessionally, scones cold and very stale, no butter, one pot of jam and stale clotted cream! When I complained the waitress agreed it didn't look very good. Said she was sorry and went to get us three small desserts which weren't much better. Very very disappointed!

Lovely place for a late fall stay. Short walk down to Shanklin for your choice of dinner locations but be forewarned that the walk back up the hill will burn off many of the calories consumed over dinner.

A lovely very English hotel in location that could not be better, on a cliff top over the beach, in the nicer part of Shanklin. A lovely well tended garden with a cafe and a pretty veranda for breakfast and dinner. The hotel is old, but that is what Britain is about, and the staff do their best in everything. The food, particularly the breakfast buffet, was much better than I expected in a British hotel. It was a lovely stay, thank you very much.

Staff and welcome friendly, room was not very large but was large enough for a couple of days. The restaurant service and food was excellent, good portions and the view overlooking the sea was stunning, especially when the storm was raging outside.

Smaller hotel, friendly staff, well looked after rooms, excellent food. Our room above kitchen only very small downside. Very pleased all round.

The Manor House is beautiful and the view over the pool to the sea is stunning. The hospitality is far above expectations, very friendly people with great service. I definitely will come back, and they kindly put my inside as well Now it's time to have my vegetarian breakfast, tasty.

First time staying at the hotel fora weekend away. We had a lovely stay, great breakfast and plenty of choice staff were lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent customer service. The view and gardens were amazing, the breakfast and dinner tasted delicious. The hotel will do with a little more TCL, a few paint jobs here and there, bigger Tv's in the room will improve. Overall good experience will recommend.

We stayed here 23rd till 25th June. Our room was nothing special but very clean. The highlight was the dining experience. The quality of all meals, breakfast, dinner and also the serving staff is higher. Definitely four star. Thank you.

Lovely location, service and facilities. Slightly tired. Food food. Excellent garden cafe and steps down cliff to beach. Hot tub and pool great. Kids (4 and 7) loved it.

Rooms were very clean and a good size. Staff were very helpful and the whole property was very beautiful. Right by the cliffs so we walked down the 160 steps to the pub and had a lovely time. Only small issue was walls are pretty thin but didn't really cause any concerns.

Here is the best thing. There's the girl in the back garden making all the beautiful healthy cakes and organic tea. It's a magical place. Like you wake up in another place somewhere where you can fully relax while enjoying the best treats you've ever tried!

We had a two night stay here with a Groupon deal. So close to shops and the beach. Wonderful rooms staff facilities and food. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again in the future.

We enjoyed a short stay in Luccombe Manor along with our dog. First impressions were of the very friendly welcome, and being shown to our room instead of being told where to find it. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was very good especially the breakfast. Our only small crib was that we could hear the plumbing in the next room which sounded as if there was an air lock somewhere, the staff were informed and will get that sorted out. So all in all very pleased and would visit Luccombe again.

Was nothing like the pictures, was given a room next to the front door, facing a bush. Toilet facillities were lovely, but the towels, though requested for new ones, were picked up from the floor and put straight back onto our rack. Breakfast was good, and staff members were extremely lovely and helpful. If you decide to go, it would be best if you request a higher room.

All very nice with the exception of Wi-Fi. A small problem for most but BIG issue for me as I had wanted to work and couldn't because of this.

Nice location, but horrible food and rude and arrogant staff, and doggy rooms are much cosy then a sea facing room which does not really face the sea all you see is a dirty grotty pool, the complaints were brought forward to a manager, who insisted that the food was nice but it was definitely not edible, cooked by young and unskilled chef overall happy with the location just not the experience at this hotel would not be returning to this horrible fawlty towers like hotel " you rang".

Would not go to this um (hotel) again if you can call it that.

Beautifulll looking hotel untill you got in what a shame receptionist lovely but on showing room it was horrible I really wanted a view of the car park! cleanish, shower fine, rooms looked half re-done, food ok, breakfast lovely general decor awful, bar shut at 10 oclock at night! what hotel does that! no pool, wasps nest in playground! bar manager not very good, oh dear I wouldnt recommend at all.
