My daughter and I stayed for one night back in June. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We decided to have lunch there which we enjoyed so much that we booked in for dinner as well! Had a lovely meal with nice bottle of wine. Had a very nice breakfast the following morning. Staff were really polite, helpful friendly throughout our visit.

Full of character, rooms clean, owners very friendly, very good breakfast. Will definitely stay again.

Excellent Pub Hotel in Sawbridgeworth. Very friendly Service and the pub's meals are typical and plentiful.

Thank you for a really great meal on Friday 13th April. There were 17 of us all the food was freshly cooked no long waits the children s meals were cooked first. Great idea and they had a good time with jelly and Ice cream. All the dishes we had were fantastic the service was very good but not over the top.

On short notice managed to get a room for the night, very welcoming staff, room was clean, shower was great, food was beaut, sat and had a few beers with a couple of locals made to feel at home. Highly recommend, thanks.

Really disappointed — just has Mother’s Day lunch and the menu was extremely limited just 3 types of roast dinner. Understandable when busy but had high how’s of the food as there was no real menu choice but chicken was dry, bland, lamb was chewy everything covered in dry herbs at an attempt of flavour. Desserts nice. However after politely mentioning our disappointment and as the bill was £120 for 4 adults and 2 children under 7 I thought this is my right to do so to be told I was after a cheap lunch, paid a deposit and made the booking so it was my problem and to leave the restaurant and they don’t care if they tecive bad reviews. So here it is Cock Inn Sheering devastated to say when trying to support a local business and pass on disappointing feedback you have shown a lack of professionalism, outright rudeness and never will I or anyone I come across dine in your establishment. Two ruined Mother’s Day such a shame I’m saddened at such a response!

Very friendly staff. We arrived late with our young kids and greyhound. Locals loved our dog and we're super friendly. Rooms clean and comfy mattress. Dinner was quickly served. Traditional pub menu and a good selection. Dogs not allowed in restaurant of course but allowed in bar area. Not allowed in room alone either which is also understandable. We put him in the car for this short time. Overall a very pleasant short stay.

Lovely cosy welcoming place to stop off for a quick drink and bite to eat, really nice staff 100% recommend.

I stay in a lot of hotels. For value for money, this is the best for a long time. Lovely warm reception, spacious room, great shower pressure, very comfy bed and serves breakfast from 7am. All a man on the road needs! 3 stars doesn't do it justice.

I can't comment on the rooms, but the food and service is outstanding. I am getting married in the area, and so decided to pop in for dinner with some friends. Dishes were very reasonably priced, and the quality was excellent. Starters were large, and clearly fresh, and homecooked. The mains were also substantial, and the pie in particular contained large chunks of meat, and not a hint of fat. It was served with a large portion of fries, and peas, plus gravy. The service was unobtrusive yet attentive. Staff clearly knew what they were doing, and were interested in what your opinions were. They also adapted dishes where necessary. We love visiting local pubs, and will certainly be returning here!

Comfortable clean rooms. This hotel provides just what I need when staying in the area on business. Once the tea and coffee stuff is moved and the bed side light is put on it, the desk is big enough to set up a lap top and lay out paperwork for an early evening catch up of the day's events. Dinner is from a varied modestly priced menu and I have never been disappointed. The service is friendly, courteous and efficient. The bar offers a range of beers to my taste but the proliferation of large screens showing soccer kept me in the comfortable lounge where there are comfortable arm chairs and sofas creating a cosy and elegant feel.

Nice pub, food and atmosphere, room I stayed in was very basic, needed updating, bed was not very comfortable, bit only stayed one night to be close to Stansted airport.

Very warm welcome, room was bright and clean. Very good night's sleep… and good full breakfast. Highly recommended!

A decent hotel in a convenient location, close to Stansted Airport. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had to leave very early in the morning and prepared for us breakfast to take away!

Just a stay over quick visit for a connecting flight but from the moment we arrived we loved this place. Mark and the girls were great and the food is top notch. Will definitely come back in the future and recommend to all.

Don't bother phoning to ask about wheelchair access, you can't get in in a power chair but the staff tell you you can and take your booking.

Nice friendly pub. Went for a meal which was very nice, although the menu is quite small and slightly overpriced. Only real negative was when I asked the waitress for some more drinks after our starters, I was told to go to the bar.

Friendly atmosphere with excellent food and service.

It must have been 10 years since we last went in The Cock — and it seems to have changed hands. Service was very good and food excellent. Dogs ok in the bar area too. We'll be back.
