The Tagliatelle was exceptional. Fabulous flavours and cooked to perfection. I can highly recommend the homemade icecream too (I forgot to share it with my husband).

First time here. Lovely room. Big TV. Warm. Clean. Highly recommend. Had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. Helpful and polite staff. Well worth a visit.

What a fabulous, characterful place to stay. Our room was beautifully appointed, very cosy and comfortable and had the benefit of sky TV (handy if it’s a wet evening). Small, but perfectly functional en-suite, with quality shower gels and shampoo. We dined at the Plough, the food was delicious, piping hot and reasonable priced. The full English Breakfast the following morning was delicious, thick cut bacon, tasty local sausage eggs, beans, black pudding, mushrooms and toast — we could hardly move. The staff, throughout our stay were just perfect, we felt like friends instead of guests. Well done, you would be foolish not to stay here.

We’ve been to the Plough twice now, once for dinner and 2 days later for lunch because it was so good!
Sunday roast is delicious and the dark chocolate torte is one of the best puddings I’ve ever had.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, I think the first night we got served by the manager who was so attentive and such a good knowledge of wines, we tried a bottle that we love so much we’re now on the hunt to stock the house with!
Will be returning frequently for sure. Very handy to stop off midway through the Avington walk.

It has been two years since we last stayed at The Plough. Good Food, Good Atmosphere, & Clean Rooms. We spent two weeks there celebrating our 10-year anniversary. They had made upgrades inside & out during our absence. It's even better than before. I highly recommend taking a trip to The Plough & trying it out. You will not be disappointed.

4 muddy ladies and 1dog had lunch today on their walk from Winchester to Arlesford. The welcome, the service and the food were all excellent. The waitress made us feel like nothing was too much trouble even water for the dog. Thank you.

Food and service are good. It would be nice if you could clean the tables outside. Covered in old food and bird poo.

Beautiful pub in Itchen Abbas, close to Winchester in Hampshire. Good selection of beers and ales. Very good quality food. Very good friendly service. Beer garden. Free carpark. Free Wi-Fi. Pub also has accommodation with balconies.

A really nice and friendly inn where we had a very tasty Sunday lunch today. Not been before but I will definitely revisit when I am back in Winchester. Wheelchair user access quite good, apart from the lack of a bespoke accessible toilet at the present time. May be able to get in but no suitable cubicles. Do visit the Plough though! Lovely pub with very clean accommodation. The room we had was a bit small but could not fault the cleanliness. The shower is fantastic, but the bathroom could have benefitted from better ventilation as is always seemed to be very warm and humid. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly, especially Charlotte, who was very helpful and extremely pleasant. Would certainly use this place again the next time we're in the area.

Stopped overnight with our puppy. Lovely room albeit a bit warm overnight. It’s a nice pub downstairs with a good restaurant and pleasant locals.
The staff were very pleasant and most welcoming wefelr well looojes after!
We will definitely return to see more of the lively Itchen Valley and local walks.

I called to book a room, but receptionist couldn't get off the phone fast enough. Totally uninterested and made me feel im bothering her. You lost a customer!

We had a lovely two night stay with two of our children and the dog at the Plough at Itchen Abbas. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated with lovely bed linen. The bathroom was shower only, not wonderful water pressure, but all very clean and pleasant and particularly good value for money. The breakfasts were cooked to order and were delicious and plentiful with good tea and coffee. The pub and dining rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable and the food was delicious particularly the fish dish of the day. There are lots of lovely walks around with the dog and Winchester Cathedral is close by. I would definitely recommend The Plough.

Wow. Currently staying here and what else can I say. The room is beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. I can personally recommended the 10 Oz rib eye. Good selection of drinks and service with a smile. Thanks.

The surroundings are excellent, it's comfortable pub/restaurant and easy to find. The service was good, the prices were par for the course. The food was perfectly adequate and quite tasty but nothing out of the ordinary though my friend says his steak was excellent.

OK pub, slightly overpriced menu, but friendly staff and locals. Car park to the rear can get full.

Lovely pub and hotel but cold with no double glazing and poor heating. Shower barely worked.

Lovely large, warm, clean room with good decor. Very quiet so we got a good night's sleep. Fab breakfast.

The staff were lovely, friendly and great service. The food, not so great. The roasts were bland and tasted like they had come out a plastic bag and chucked in the microwave. The veg had no taste and the meat was plastic tasting. The water tasted fishy?!? Maybe washed with odd detergent. The actual pub and restaurant were done out beautifully and a great setting. However, this was not enough to entice me back or return. Sorry!

Very cold room, turned radiator on but heating wasn't switched on. Warm downstairs when we went for breakfast. Awful shower with a dribble of water which went between cold and scalding hot. Told staff in the morning and was told "we know about the shower in that room" Why let it out when they know it doesn't work Poor experience, and obviously no care for guest comfort or satisfaction.

Visited this pub yesterday after the m3 was closed. Made a disasterous day bearable. Steak and ale pie with fresh baby carrots mange tout cauliflower and mash was outstanding. The best we have had in ages. Staff were really helpful in trying to find a route out of the road chaos. Would definitely go again. Beautiful pub and really lovely food and staff. Top notch!

Very comfortable bed. All staff were very attentive and made me feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend and stay again even if It meant travelling further to work. The locals are also very welcoming. Top marks.

What a little gem of a pub this is. Great food and selection of drinks for the fussiest of palates. Brilliant staff who go above and beyond. Well worth a visit!

The food is absolutely superb. This fantastic local has been transformed from what it was to an excellent pub, with food that is better than anything else around.

My second stay at the Plough, although my wife's first visit. As before, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, making every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was ideal, clean and fresh with a balcony. We dined in the restaurant and my wife proclaimed her meal as "the best she'd ever eaten".

The beef wrap was two slabs of tough, tasteless and cooked to death beef. The white crab meat was bulked up with a mayonnaise or similiar — sacrilege.

The "Food Critic" must have went to the wrong pub! This is a traditional country pub with a warm welcome, roaring fires in the winter and plenty of outside dining in the summer. The menu has a wide variety of food for all tastes. Fish and Chip night and steak night are not to be missed (tues and friday). Max the chef and landlord is passionate about his food. Both Max and his wife Norma work very hard to make everyone enjoy the Trout Experience. What are you waiting for book a table now! We use this pub at least once a week and are very grateful for the warm welcome and excellent food we receive time after time. Thank you.
