2 star says it all… tired all around… staff friendly enough but like decor and carpets they need to be an uplift… full English breakfast looked like it was reheated from yesterday and this could have bee faulty towers. 2 toast full sliced already spread thickly with what appeared to be margarine served not cut and on a dinner plate… waitress in front of me and two other guests put a fruit juice carton on the floor and stood on it to squash it down in front of us… bizarre lol… would not recommend it was last resort for me as booking cock up on other hotel and others booked up in the area.

All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Great band on Saturday when we were there. Lovely walks from the moment you stepped out of the pub. Dog friendly, albeit 40£ for 2 small well behaved dogs for 2 nights a bit much! Room clean and very comfortable mattress. We always stay in much larger hotels that have every thing you could ask for, but cold, the Bugle has warmth in every possible way. We will be back!

Lovely pub / hotel, lovely people. If you enjoy charm and character, some charming characters, a hint of quirkiness, a good and well kept variety / choice of beer (especially the Guinness! ) good food, clean rooms, ample secure parking, friendly staff and 'friendly natives' plus even a ghost or two, The Bugle is a must!

Lovely community pub although bit confusing of who worked there and who was customers.

Stayed 2 night's in July 18. Helpful, friendly staff and not expensive however rooms are a bit tired and dated and could do with a refurb. Walls a bit thin and the sound carries through the old building. Full English with juice and coffee was £9.95 extra but was well cooked and tasty.

It was a really nice place the staff was more then help full and the food was amazing I would stay here again rather then a massive hotel.

Only rating the bar, not hotel or restaurant. Not a great selection of beers and priced at the higher end of the market. Staff are friendly, locals slightly less so… but only in attitude, not aggression. Couldn't get the Wi-Fi network? Parking is available nearby, but possibly P&D?

Excellent food and good selection of beverages. A very good chef. The staff very helpful and happy to go out of the way to help. Quite a locals pub but warm and welcoming to visitors. Decor howevet let's this place down. It's tired and dated. As is the music. The rooms are very often booked up. Suggesting a good service. Have not yet stayed there but planning to.

Disgusting, the bar area looked ok the manager and bar staff very friendly and helpful the breakfast was an extra £9.25 each which we paid, expensive but we thought it must be excellent (Will explain later). The manager took us to our room and I must say the stairs were filthy they hadn't been hoovered for a long time, our room was in need of a big clean there was dust in the cobwebs the carpet had hair on it. The bathroom the plug hole was full of hair which my wife cleaned the bath floor mat hair all over it from the previous occupier, the bed was fresh but the bottom bed post was broken. The breakfast was terrible for £9.25 each I would expect everything, it was orange juice and a full English the glasses I sent back as they were not clean, the teapot was filthy the teacups were not clean, the breakfast was swimming in oil could not eat it no choice of brown or white toast, just brown turned up, no jams or marmalade, l asked for brown sauce and the lid was covered in sauce, stay away from this disgusting rip off hotel.

If you like genuine coaching inn charm a couple of hundred years old and don't mind a creeky old building that makes odd noises and has a poltergeist then you will love this place. Rooms ok, not special, but adequate.

Michelle the land lady let me hire the function room out the back of the hotel for a ballet class fundraiser. She was so accommodating and very thorough with asking what we would need. The team layed on a fantastic breakfast for our half time break. Fresh pots of coffee and warm croissants. I would recommend this hotel for functions and food.

A pleasant stay. The basics were there. Very noisy at night & early hours. Room a little smelly. Staff friendly & welcoming. This place has character.

Had Sunday roast here yesterday lovely meal, Lovely staff, and locals very friendly too!

Stopped in for a cold drink on a hot day, just the ticket. Pleasant environment and very welcoming staff.

Spent two nights in a small room. Tv and kettle next on a small desk. Winding stairs, charming layout. Pub on ground floor, although no noise could be here from it.

It was okay. Very loud early in the morning with the delivery trucks outside.

Very atmospheric. 18th century building. Friendly staff.

Comfortable and pleasant looking. The food menu looked appealing although I was only there due to a breakdown! If I'd had more time I think sampling parts of it would have been my next move.

Nice small hotel. Food is ok and the pub is nice. Friendly staff. One drawback: breakfast isn't served before 8.30 AM. Something to take into account when having an early appointment.

Not the best room to stay overnight. Decent price though and clean.
