We had out zumba Christmas meal here and it was a gd night, the food was lovely and the staff were polite will be coming back again.

A perfect stopover place if cruising out… and reasonably priced also.

Booked executive room. Clean and modern with great views of ocean cruise terminal. Check in staff/reception all friendly. Restaurant was mediocre. Nothing spectacular but a fair choice on the menu. Would stay here again.

Great place to stay when heading out on a cruise. Rooms bright and clean and bed comfortable. We had breakfast included which was excellent. Staff friendly except for girl at reception when we first checked in. Very rude and abrupt.

Great location close to city centre and for Cruise Passengers using the nearby Cruise Terminals. Recently refurbished great staff.

Booked this hotel 7 days ago for my wife and granddaughter. Due to travel arrangements they wouldn’t arrive at the hotel until 11.30 pm. So we emailed the hotel to let them know. When they arrived they were told there were no rooms left and they would have to stay at another hotel 20 minutes away. Having booked this through IHG which I have been a member for ten years I am totally disgusted at this service. My wife and grandchild were very distressed at having to go to another hotel when it was gone midnight. The manager in charge would not even pay for a hotel from another chain which was nearby. This is not the service I am used to from Holiday Inn. But on this occasion the customer certainly did not come first.

A well placed hotel allowing close access to arriving or departing Cruise ships or the Isle of Whyte Ferry. Our Business Suite was comfortable with King Size bed. There is the usual mini bar fridge, with complimentary bottled water and a chocolate bar. The Business suite has everything for a good quite stay.

Had problem with shower (little pressure and no hot water) reported issue and eventually moved to a new room for my 2nd nights stay. Breakfast was late starting both mornings, advised chef running late? Evening meal was tasty but had to wait almost an hour from ordering to getting our meal.

Good hotel. Breakfast a bit too expensive is 12.00 per person but not rich in food. Great location halfway between train station and coach and port. Good location for the city centre. All within reach in 10 minutes of walking. Courtesy and cleanliness at the base of everything, in true English style.
A discontinued note was that of the lack of natural water at the bar and during breakfast. Fridge bar absent in the room.
Overall, vote 8. Good.

Modernised bedrooms are excellent. USB plugs both sides of the bed. Large shower and clean throughout. Excellent choice for the night before a cruise. Ask for a room at the back & you’ll see your ship when you wake up (gate 10)

Great place if you are going on a cruise. Very near and walkable to gate 8. For other gates it is a short taxi ride.

My Travel agent We Travel 2U recommended this hotel for a stay before our cruise, and they were right great location, our room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the Cruise terminal and we watched our ship arrive. Breakfast was very nice, a buffet which was hot and constantly topped up and loads of choice. I would recommend this hotel and our travel agents.

I have stayed here over the past month as working in the area. Every member of staff have been exceptional. Especially Ruth who is the breakfast host. Always remembers your name and aswell as the other staff members is always very professional. Really can't say enough good things about the hotel. Keep up the great work girls!

Lovely view from my room, great service and was very quick. Easy access car park. Right near the port which is great for catching the ship.

Bright, clean, modern and looks like its recently been refurbished. We had a great couple of nights stay and breakfast was decent too.

Fantastic hotel, hotel has just have a make over so all rooms are new and up to date, If u like shopping west quay shopping centre is 2 minute walk away and if ur going on a cruise ur in the closest hotel possible. We always stay here as the location is perfect for everything.

Redecoration of the ground floor has greatly improved the hotel. If the ongoing room refurbishment is to the same standard then this place will only get better! Ideally situated just far yet near enough to town.

Stayed here on a cold and snowy night when I was unable to get home. The staff were very friendly and helpful – I know this is their job but you get a sense when a person is genuinely welcoming or just paid to be so but here you sense a friendly vibe. Great location right by the sea and medieval city walls. The view from the room, on the eighth floor, was lovely – the entire side of the room was a massive window! It was refreshing to walk into the room and see such a pleasant view not obscured by net curtains (they are there if you want them). Best view I've seen in a hotel since staying in the Sheraton in Brussels. So many hotels have net curtains which I can understand as you may wish to have privacy but the first thing I do is to draw them open often to a view of dustbins but not in this case! Superbly comfortable bed tucked in nice and tight on one side (just how I like it) but loose on the other – I don't know whether this was massive attention to detail or just random but it was so comfy. The only slight criticism I can give is that the shower tray was rather shallow and a small amount of water drained over the edge (but then I do splash about a bit during my ablutions! ). Oh and the towels were too fluffy – I couldn't squeeze them in my case! Thumbs up all round. Thoroughly recommended.

Attended here as a delegate and as an over night guest. The staff here were amazing. Especially the ladies that served us our meals and looked after the restaurant. Unfortunately, my room was freezing and my room didn’t have hot water, not what you want in freezing conditions. The ladies toilets were so cold it was like going to the loo outside. No refund offered, I certainly wouldn’t recommend it as a place to stay or to hold meetings.

Stayed in the executive suite with an amazing view of Southampton docks. Customer service was very good and attended to every need and the food was amazing. Very clean and hygienic room with a modern aesthetic, would happily go back!

Attended the New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball here to raise money for Dementia arranged by the lovely Stacey Page! All l can say is what a fantastic night! Great venue, reasonably priced drinks, and hats off to the chef for some amazing food! Atmosphere was fantastic, DJ played some great tunes and just a great night all round. Brilliant event for a deserving cause… well done to all the staff involved… great night had by all.

On a refurbishment project. The updated look for the rooms are challenging and exciting. Attentive staff and good standard of cleanliness within main hotel lobby. Reception well manned.

Super nice staff. Comfortable. Lots of deferred maintenance. One of two elevators was broken, but no hurry was made for repair (should occur within two hours, but was out our entire stay) Excellent location. Few electrical outlets. Owner needs to prioritize critical infrastructure and systems over decoration and look. And adopt a sense of urgency for repairs. Great service.

Stayed here the night before ay cruise for which it was ideal. Welcoming staff and good sized family room was clean and comfortable. Getting slightly tired in places but renovation seems to be ongoing so that's likely to be different soon. Exactly as required and seems a good location for exploring shopping in Southampton. Would use again.

I’m in Southampton for business quite a bit and this hotel is hands down the best place to stay. As other reviewers commented — the only downside is the dated rooms. The food is great, friendly staff, across the street from a large shopping mall with plenty of dining options, and an adequate gym. The best feature is 2Mb Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out even when the hotel is full with wedding guests. I don’t mind the drive over to Chandlers Ford every morning because of all the upsides.

Had a very nice comfortable stay here. The staff were happy, helpful and pleasant. Our twin room was clean and the beds very comfy the room is a little tired looking but no complaints. The shower was hot and powerful. A wide range of breakfast options. I had a cooked breakfast which was very nice. Convenient and near to shopping centre. Two downsides was being charged £10 to stay in the car park when you've already paid to stay there! This is one thing I find so annoying about hotels near ports/airports! You can't get out without a ticket so it can't be to stop people parking there who are not staying at the hotel. The smell in the hallway outside our room was a mixture of very strong Flash cleaner and sewers ☹️ Really not pleasant at all. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Would you want to spend your holiday at a Holiday Inn? I rest my case. Fine for a business meeting though…

Stayed here on a work trip. Hotel rooms are a little dated but the interior is well maintained. Lobby is newly refurbished. Good sized rooms and decent shower. Can get great views if the city of you're on the right side.

Literally just stayed overnight. Did not use any other facilities. Room was decently sized, comfortable bed, large window with great view over the harbour (9th floor). Maybe not the last word in luxury but pleasant and clean.

Hotel was Clean. When the cruise ship's passengers arrive, however, it will be a little hectic and crowded.

We had our wedding day at the hotel on Saturday! It was amazing! Stacey you were fantastic! You are so incredibly lovely. Everything went perfect, your attention to detail made all my mums hard work come to life. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone working behind the scenes for us. Chole the barmaid was awesome and also Aiden who even took the time to speak to me at breakfast. If you want a perfect wedding day with a wedding coordinator who will deliver you a wedding day you can only dream of then book it! Thank you to everyone who worked for our day yesterday! Attended a wedding there, it's not a massive place but is is pretty good and what you would expect.

Bit tatty but clean. Comfortable bed. Nice staff. Mediocre food but definitely edible, not outrageously priced. Had a bit of a wait in the restaurant but not terrible. Excellent Wi-Fi connection. We had a dinner B+B deal at a great price. Will stay again and recommend especially if you're cruising.

Staff very helpful. Rooms have a great view, good size room with all you could ask for. Very close to cruise terminals had a great stay.

The location is great looking over the docks and seeing all the boats. The hotel was clean and spacious and the staff were wonderful. Buffet breakfast was yummy too. This was our 2nd stay, the first was 3 years ago and both times it has been excellent. I would recommend it to anyone.

We had our wedding at the hotel on Saturday and it was an amazing day, we had many meetings with the wedding coordinator before our big day to make sure they knew how we wanted everything. Our day was perfect the coordinator Stacey was absolutely fantastic she always answered emails promptly and was always there if we needed to ask questions, on the day she did everything she could to make our day so special and I can't thank her enough, we had so many comments on how well run and organized everything was everyone complimented the food too it was delicious. We couldn't of had a better day everything was brilliant the way they decorated the rooms, the dj in with the package was fantastic I didn't have an empty dance floor all night, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our complementary over night stay was great the room was lovely and the breakfast in bed finished off our stay perfectly. I really cannot fault a thing and I would definitely recommend this hotel too get married in.

We had travelled 18 hours from Australia arriving at the hotel at mid afternoon. We had selected an executive room. The room was ready for us and check in was fast and slick by a very cheerful staff member. The room was neat and clean and a pleasure to be in. The hotel is a clise walk to central Southampton. Dinner in the restaurant was pleasant served by very pleasant staff. We had an issue with Wi-Fi connection which we received focused attention by reception staff. We recommend this hotel to any visitors to Southampton.

Visited for dinner with guests there. Service was excellent, the waiter friendly and attentive, and the food was very tasty. As with any hotel restaurant, the other guests can impact your experience, and we were there the same time as a wedding reception. The portions are fairly large, so even though the food is excellent and tasty, don't go too crazy with the starters and platters. We shared a platter for two between 4 as a starter, and 3 of us still left some of the mains because we were just too full. If you're hungry, want some tasty food, and don't mind if the atmosphere might be a little noisy, I would highly recommend this place.

Five stars for the helpful systems and friendly staff. Highly recommended for anyone with food intolerances/allergies. I think I broke their hearts by not wanting gluten free toast for breakfast. Location is convenient. But it is a chain hotel, and bar prices steep … So just missed the five star.

Location was very convenient, excellent views. Near a shopping centre. The room was nice, could have had a few more utilities, but was great for price. Staff were helpful, breakfast was good, only thing was the extra pillows we ordered didn't come. However, we reordered them and they came in five minutes. Im a vegan and the food was acceptable but would have loved some vegetarian sausages! Overall, good experience.

Really nice foyer. Very attentive staff. Airy, clean dining area. Good was very nice too. Conference facilities were very well presented.

Done a package deal for paultons park, hotel was excellent, really good breakfast, staff brilliant, definitely stay here again.

Very clean. New foyer was very nice. Only had a problem with the public Computer in the lobby as the keyboard didn't work. Food was very good and all hail the pancake machine.

Lovely Hotel easily found near city cruise terminal. Cruise Parking Package avaliable. Lovely free breakfast. The only downside the bathroom decor is getting a bit tired nothing serious though.

Stayed from friday to sunday on a peppa pig package with my daughter for her second birthday. We had an issue with the noise of a TV in the room next to ours on the first night. As soon as I rang reception the duty manager went and got the TV turned down or off within seconds. The staff couldn't do enough to help us during our stay. I am already looking at booking another stay! The whole weekend was perfect.

Stayed here from Tuesday to Thursday on the peppa pig package absolutely loved it hotel was very clean staff were amazing couldn't do enough for you really made my daughters birthday and peppa pig experience one to remember me and my family stay in holiday inns a fair bit and this one was by far the best we have experienced would definitely recommend it and we will be coming back soon! thank you :).

Stayed here for weekend on The Peppa Pig Package! Had a fab time! Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Loved the air con in the room. Excellent views across Southampton water. Amazing food pricy but well worth it. Kids are well catered for receiving a welcome pack on arrival. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Overall a great experience. Would return to this hotel again when in the area. Thank you we had a great time.

Very expensive internet. Only Holiday Inn in the UK charge exhorbitant fees. I movef across the road to the DeVere for £4 more. Wi-fi is free and breakfast was included. I try only to stay at Holiday Inn when abroad when Wi-Fi is free. I want the internet for me — not my company.
