Ok, where do I start, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly, check in was effortless. That has been so far the only good thing about this hotel. The bad things. No Diet Coke! A hotel that runs out of Coke! How does that happen? We complained but so far have heard nothing. We suggested they go to Asda which is just down the road but we’re told they couldn’t. The Spa is closed. That’s fine in the current climate. Breakfast was a joke. Some of the worst service I have ever experienced, these people should not work in hospitality. The food was pre plated (we had continental and cooked) we were given no choices, just given what they had which was served Luke warm at best. No choice of coffee as the bar doesn’t open until 10 (breakfast stops at 9) for this we were charged £12! We have breakfast booked for tomorrow but are going to cancel this as it’s not worth it. We stayed last week at a Green King hotel for less money which was far better than this in every way. I have stayed at other best western hotels but never again would I stay here. A tip is to eat 2 minutes walk away at Chilworth Arms, great food. With an industry that is trying to recover and encourage people to spend money, best western, you fail!

Thank you to chilworth manor hotel for booking us in very last minute on Sunday to top off our last minute wedding. It really was the perfect end to our day! fabulous room which they decorated beautifully, all staff were amazing and attentive, the grounds were stunning and I loved the window seat in our room to enjoy the views. Hugely recommend and will stay again when the world in back to normal!

After a very long journey I arrived late in the evening and was given a very warm welcome from Dave. Nothing was too much trouble and I enjoyed gluten free room service In my immaculate bedroom. Highly recommend and thank you again for your outstanding customer service.

Abysmal service, extortionate price. Following a 90th birthday afternoon tea party on Sunday for my grandfather, we were left feeling completely ripped off and extremely disappointed with the frankly neglectful service. This was reported on the day, as nothing was cleared away (other than by myself and my sister) nor refreshed during the 3 hours that we were there. Family had travelled from across the country for the celebrations and were left with little to eat despite the £20+ paid per head. None of this was passed on to the management despite being given raised more than once, as my mother finally received the standard we hope you enjoyed your visit email today, to which we await a response. The answer is NO we did not!

This manor house is set in beautiful surroundings, looks impressive, nice and relaxing, the spa was great, nice food, staff are friendly, well worth a visit.

Had a lovely weekend. A Peaceful location. A good choice at breakfast; flexible evening menu, but could do with a little more choice. Staff friendly and efficient.
Rooms nice (I would have liked brighter lighting). We Needed a new light bulb it was replaced inside half an hour. Would definitely come again.

Terrible service in the restaurant although food was good if you chose to wait to get acknowledged. Being asked if you would like to pour your own 330ml bottle of Pale Ale into a ½ pint glass… really!

It’s a great nice hotel food and service couldn’t fault it and great view from hotel window.

Lovely one night stay here. We had a deluxe room, which was very spacious with views over the lovely gardens. The evening meal was OK, quick service, but took a while and a bit of confusion with staff to bring our bottle of wine, which we ordered at the same time as our food. Breakfast was excellent.

We have just had a lovely 2 night stay from fri-mon, excellent bar food on first night and restaurant 3 course meal on 2nd night which was also very nice.
Lovely grounds to walk around hotel, where we found the spa/swimming pool complex, looked very nice but unfortunately we didn’t have time to use it.
Would definitely recommend!

Hotel is dated and standard despite being set in wonderful grounds. Staff are pleasant but under trained in customer service, this is more noticable in the restaurant. Room was basic but comfortable… Now on to dinner, £17 for pie and mash! Ok so you expect it to be amazing WRONG. Under cooked, under seasoned, tasteless, veg so hot it was nucular but apparently no microwave in the kitchen. After I complained and spoke to the GM we got offered a complimentary 3 course dinner on the next night. Full of hope and high expectations we cancelled our reservation at the Chilworth Arms and accepted, what a mistake! Starters were very Weatherspoons like and then it came to the main… I opted for the fillet steak, well it was free after all and at £26 I was expecting something special. What turned up was shocking. For a start, what chef in thier right mind cuts a perfectly good fillet steak into medallions!?! And then when your steak comes out covered in sauce you wonder what's hiding underneath and on further inspection I find half cooked steak… not under cooked but un cooked raw steak! (See pics) My partners "slow braised ribs" were clearly out of a packet and no presentation what so ever. The meat was like cat food and 100% not made in house. After this we decided not to have anything replaced but to just leave hungry even though it was free. Best Western didn't take any responsibility and passed me straight back to Chilworth manor.

So clean, comfortable and peaceful. Our man on reception, Dave is charming and very helpful.

So far so good, nice light lunch and good spa facilities for me, wife was however disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn’t working! Looking forward to our evening meal.

Excellent place to stay, although we just spend one night here. It used to be a beautiful private manor before but now it is a brilliant hotel for guest who want to not just for a stay but also to enjoy the view and event nearby. It is very quiet place that you will not be disturbed by any noise. The restaurant is also brilliant. The breakfast and dinner are very good quality and taste. It is very close to Southampton and other southeast England harbour cities. If you want to visit some place near by, this is the best choice you want to stay overnight.

We booked a two night offer at this hotel for our 41st wedding anniversary, which included breakfast both mornings and dinner on the first evening. When we went to check out we were asked to pay for the dinner as our booking had been sent through to the hotel as room only! Fortunately I had my original booking confirmation with me to prove we had actually pre paid for dinner and breakfast. This hotel has no air conditioning and our stay was during a heatwave. Although we requested a fan for our room on three occasions we were told they were unable to provide one as they had none to spare! I find it unbelievable that a hotel chain the size of Best Western cannot afford to provide a basic piece of equipment such as a fan in each room in their hotel rooms! As our room was so hot, even with the window open, it was extremely difficult to sleep. One way and another our anniversary break at this hotel was disappointing and I doubt I will stay here again. If you should choose to stay here, take you own fan and ensure you have a copy of your booking confirmation with you. On a good note… the food was very good.

We have just had 4 nights staying here and were very pleased with it. We had a nice suite which was very well priced, and our children were made to feel very welcome. Only one problem — not a sight of any air conditioning. I know we dont always have 3 months of temps in the 30s, but it was like an oven at night time and really there is not much of an reason not to have it. Apart from that, we would certainly stay here again. Very easy to find, and well located.

Visited for a company training day, the day went superbly well thanks to the warm friendly welcoming staff. Both the facilities and the mature landscaped gardens added to the whole day. Those that stayed the night before were very positive about the rooms. Would be an ideal venue for anyone whether for a corporate event or a wedding reception or stop over point on a journey. Hope my company will use it again for the next training event.

Love this place! The hotel and grounds are superb. The food is delicious. The staff are all polite, courteous and eager to assist. It is a calm, peaceful place. The Club (spa and pool) is very inviting to either relax in or get your exercise.

I had my wedding reception here on Saturday and all staff were extremely professional, welcoming, friendly and efficient. I have never experienced such excellent service at a restaurant or hotel before. The staff really went out of their way to make sure the day went smoothly and felt special, especially our wedding manager who was absolutely fantastic! The food was done to an excellent standard and there was plenty of it. The wine was lovely too. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others. I can't fault it or the staff in any way. We'll definitely be back again. All of our guests were very impressed with the hotel and the service received by the stsff. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the rooms very spacious. Thank you Chilworth Manor for making our big day so special.

All staff are very helpful and friendly and carry out their duties with a pleasant disposition and a smile. The hotel is good value and is set in lovely grounds with lots of woodland paths and forest walks with beautiful countryside views. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. They are in good decorative order with all equipment in good condition and good working order. Very pleasant well laid out Dining area serving excellent good Quality food. Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast and evening dinner and buffet while attending our daughters wedding celebration. Would recommend without hesitation for long or short breaks and definitely if you are planning a wedding.

Ive wedding — 9/6/2018 — I don’t know where to start so I am just going to start with the amazing Adam King, you literally are the star of the wedding team, I had complete confidence in your abilities from start to finish, and you had a calming presence, just what every bride needs. The company need to clone you or at the very least, put you in charge The rest of the team were good, there were a few glitches, which did not spoil the day but need sorting for future gu…ests / weddings 1. Something has to be done about the key cards, more than 7 problems had problems with them 2. Staff need to be on hand when frazzled brides arrive with ALL there luggage 3. Other non wedding guests need to be told that there is a wedding on and there is loud music Above all else a perfect venue for our wedding, amazing food, good ambience and not bad value for money Thank you Christopher and Lorraine Ive.

Stayed at Chilworth Manor over the weekend.  The Hotel is a bit out in the country, so if you do not drive you need to use taxis. The Hotel is a Victorian mansion. Unfortunately the Hotel does not have lifts. I am not sure if they have rooms on the ground floor. The Hotel does a package where if you are going on a cruise you can park the car at the Hotel. I found all the staff to be friendly and efficient, when I say that I am including all the staff that we do not see without which the Hotel would not run so smoothly. I ate in the restaurant on one evening and I found the food was OK. I did not have breakfast at the Hotel so I cannot comment on it. I also ate in the bar and I found the sandwiches were delicious. One thing that impressed me was that you can get Classic FM on the television in the rooms. The Hotels free Wi-Fi ran at a good speed, but I found that I could not use my online radio player.

We had a great room with a view of the gardens the room was on split levels with the bedroom up top and a big bathroom on the lower level with all the facility's you would want.

Stay was good on the whole, but the food varied quite a lot and the room wasn't maintained to the standard I would have expected. Staff were helpful.

All was fine, the building was fabulous, the room I couldn't fault except someone set my bedside alarm clock to go off at midnight which I didn't find very funny, the good and drinks were a little on the expensive side as a soft cordial drink was £3 no incentive for the nondrinkers, the breakfast service wasn't great we had to beg for a coffee in the morning, but the breakfast was good.
Overall I would recommend it to my friends.

We visited during a Christian convention a while back. This place had some spectacular gardens and you can just get lost in thought walking there. Maintained to a very high standard, clean, and sparkling. The staff here were very polite and helpful. Could see this place as ideal for weddings, birthdays, and other similar occasions.

From check-in to check-out we were made to feel very welcome. Travelling with a 10 week old baby had us feeling nervous but the staff, facilities and accommodations were excellent! Will definitely stay again.

Stayed at the hotel for my 50th birthday. The room was really good with old style features which makes a change from most modern sterile hotel rooms. The grounds are really beautiful and well worth going for a walk around. I found all the staff to be really friendly and helpful especially valeriu in the restaurant.

Special deal including eve meal n breakfast, 3 course dinner very good vfm. Don't bother upgrading as not really worth it. Breakfast make sure you get there before 8:30 or not much left. Room lovely grounds amaxing.

Lovely hotel with good service, comfortable rooms and fast internet. The inclusive breakfast package was good value but the cost of dining in the restaurant was very high.

Wish I'd have taken more pictures. Such a beautiful place. Very friendly staff and a really nice place to stay. We had two double rooms and only stayed one night so didn't get to explore the facilities properly but every thing seemed to be available in spades. Everything worked in the rooms and they were both lovely and clean and well stocked with the usual bits you'd expect from a four star stay. Beds were super comfortable and it was great to see a decent size TV on the wall! We would definitely book again. Highly recommended.

We came here for my sisters 40th birthday on a spa weekend. Included was an overnight stay, a 3 course meal, breakfast and a 30 minute spa testament. The place was stunning as you drive up to the hotel and the snow on the trees created a truly magical feel to the place. I would definitely recommend the place and visit again. All the staff was helpful and polite and bent over backwards to get staff In so that our spa treatments could still go ahead, even though the place was covered in snow and the roads being bad and all of us saying we could rearrange a time and come back another day.
The spa experience was lovely.

This place was recommended to us but we had questions about it. Much of the interior is rather drab and somewhat dated. The pricing, quality and service all left us less than impressed. Also on a Saturday afternoon the place was taken over by a wedding.

Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon. Although it was Mother's Day it was also my Mum's Afternoon Tea Party, celebrating her 90th birthday!. We had a great time, Thank You to Bianca she stayed after work to look after us, what a star! I think you need to put more photos of your afternoon tea menu, as I was not sure what we were getting, but in the end everyone throughly enjoyed themselves and the food was wonderful!

Chilworth Manor is a beautiful venue. I visited during a business trip recently and was taken back by the history of the venue and the service that I received. The suites were modern but in keeping of the buildings character and the food was great. Everything I could have hoped for. Thank you.

Great place lovely staff, good food, down side pillows we're too hard and no other choice both of us struggled with them, so would definitely stay again just would have to take our own pillows.

Most of the staff were brilliant 99%, very helpful and attentative. Beautiful venue and grounds. Had hot water issues, but they were dealt with as quickly as they could have been, hotel manager acted very quickly and professionally. Overall a nice weekend retreat. Drinks at the hotel bar seemed expensive and as there is a pub 5 minutes walk away, maybe prices need addressing? £28 for 4 G&T’s singles. All in all the hotel is very nice, staff are good, very busy venue Breakfasts are good. We will be back.

The location is nice, wide and open with lots of grassland and a beautiful building, as you walk in you are greeted by a nice wide open bar with tables for lunch g and a separate room for breakfast. All staff are lovely and friendly. Overall a lovely place to go stay or dine.

17 family members, including 4 children, celebrated my sister's 70th birthday here. Our evening meal was served in a lovely private room and the food was excellent. Used the swimming pool in the afternoon but a shame children were only allowed to use it between 3.00 and 5.00pm, especially as the weather was so bad and we could not explore the beautiful grounds of this hotel. Overall a lovely weekend.

Location was easy to find. Hotel looked nice and the grounds looked lovely. The room was small but very clean. Service was ok not the best.

Noisy kitchen staff right outside our room, talking loudly and swearing 8-10pm and emptying bottles etc into bins (maybe leave that till the day time? ) Swimming pool allows under 17s from 3pm-5:30pm only on weekends. Fairly useless for young families Decent breakfast, room decor pretty good, bathroom well finished. Wifi strong and stable. I would recommend this hotel to a 55+ brexiteer who doesn't like young children, and who has poor hearing.

We were at Chilworth Manor with a stall for their Countess Mountbatten charity event. The event was very well organised with some lovely and friendly stall holders. The only negative was there wasn't any food readily available and as the event was from 10am to 3pm the chance of buying lunch would have been nice. Other than that, no complaints and would certainly recommend the Chilworth Manor and would certainly be interested in being part of another event held there.

A great place to stay. Lots of rooms (97) to stay and 29 of those in manor itself. Afternoon cream Twas, cruise and stay packages, lovely food in restaurant. Staff friendly and approachable. Reception staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking fee and relatively easy. Conference rooms easily accessible and facilities are good with a licenced bar serving food and alcohol. Go there… you won't be disappointed.

The staff were very friendly and the food was very nice, although the bar could do with more variety of beers and ciders. The standard rooms were comfortable — not too hot as other hotels can be — and good sized for 2 people, although our bathroom door would not close fully. There is a spa/gym complex on the hotel site, but it is also for locals and gets busy quickly. This was a shame, as we were under the impression it was for hotel guests and by the time we arrived all spaces for treatments had gone, which was the primary reason we chose this hotel. The staff were unable to recommend many nearby alternatives, but this may be in part because they don't want to promote local competition. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi so you can work or plan your trip, bit during our stay the connection was very hit and miss. However, the mobile and 4G reception wasn't too bad and could be used in most areas of the hotel. That aside, the Best Western Chilworth Hotel is an excellent base for exploring the Solent area and the nearby New Forest national park. Overall, an enjoyable stay despite not being able to use the spa facilities.

Top service, well-kept and clean hotel.

Great hotel. The surroundings are beautiful. Quiet as well. The staff is very professional and helpful: The day I checked in I was ill and my credit card failed on me and they were very nice and helpful to me. The bedroom is very cosy. Everything is spotless! I came for a business trip but would like to come back for some leisure time!

Had afternoon tea here today. At £15 per head I would have expected a little more attention to detail. We had ours on the terrace however there was no tablecloth on our table yet others did. My cup was dirty and I asked for it to be changed but when the waiter returned some 5 minutes later it was obviously the same cup. There was no choice of tea either which was disappointing. The food was good and very tasty. I enjoyed it but as I said at the start of this review attention to detail let it down.

Situated on large and beautiful gardens adjoining a natural reserve, Chilworth Manor is a magnificent building. Our room was large and nice. Well equipped, with small fridge and good size bathroom. Lovely views of gardens and surroundings. Good bar and restaurant, with great choices. It also has indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna, spa and gym. Really, great value for money.

Chilworth Manor is a beautiful building situated in picturesque grounds. We had an afternoon tea there in celebration of our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious with a variety of sandwiches served in a range of breads. The scones were fresh and warm. My favorite part were the desserts. On our serving stand we had macaroons (each uniquely flavored vanilla, strawberry, coffee and pistachio), two baklava, a small raspberry cake, coffee cake, carrot cake and two fruit meringue nests. Everything was truly devine. The service was incredible too, when we told the waiter that it was our wedding anniversary he gave us two complimentary glasses of champagne. It really was a perfect afternoon tea and I would highly recommend you visit.

Stayed the night and had a fantastic stay. Rooms where comfortable and clean. Staff where friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was amazing, especially the dinner we had where we truly where spoilt for choice of what to have. We also had a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage which was also really nice. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful if but a little noisy due to the closeness to the motorway. However this being said one inside the hotel there is no noise to be heard from the motorway. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will defiantly be considering a stay in the near future.

A fantastic 3 course Sunday lunch. The quality of the food was very good, plenty of choices for each course and great value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Hotel looks fantastic and has some lovely grounds; the parking is plentiful and should never be a problem. The rooms are basic but clean and functional so serve the purpose. The problem with this hotel is it does not know what it is trying to be. Function venue? Conference meeting venue? Up market escape? it does none of them particularly well! The staff are generally off hand and devoid of any personality, bordering on rude and the place generally has no ambiance. Come on Chilworth Manor you can do so much better!

Easy to get to and well sign posted. Beautiful well maintained grounds upon arrival. We had trouble locating the function but plenty of friendly staff available to guide us there. The buffet provided was plentiful and really nice. A very enjoyable experience.

Had afternoon tea for a baby shower. Was lovely cakes. If we wasn't running late it would have been a bit more fresh.

Hotel imposing and really nice, especially with the entrance throughout a large park. Would require only a little 'general maintenance, but for the value for money, I would say Excellent!

Attending for a training event, great facilities, friendly staff and the refreshments including lunch were all to a very high standard. Well looked after and would recommend based on this stay.

Excellent value Sunday lunch, good choices on the menu and the quality of the food was really good. The level of service did however suffer as the restaurant got busier.

Very nice rooms and excellent food, however the pork medallions serving size was a bit on the small side. Lots to do walking round the manor and using the gym/spa/pool.

The hotel is well placed location wise. The staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel clean and tidy. I was there for a conference and more than happy with my experience.

Comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, nice setting.

Great character hotel. Customer service is top notch, the pool and spa are very good and our room was newly refubished with all the necessary modern tech including very fast wi fi. We didn't use the restaurant which though looked good had a limited menu which didn't meet our needs, instead there is a great pub a short walk away.

Hotel location really good. The restaurant is a big disappointment. The chefs only know how to cook the usual food. I asked for something vegan and it was some tasteless liquid rice with a few pieces of bell peppers floating in it, the worst restaurant food ever.

We had our WI 70th Birthday event here and everything was first class. All the staff were so efficient and very welcoming and made our special day a memorable one. Well done to everyone involved.
