Fab food and lovely staff x we had tea and gin flight and it was heaven x.

Our first visit to the Thatched Cottage hotel. We were met by Richard who was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Gin flight was excellent and the full English breakfast was superb using fresh local ingredients. We met one of the owners Mathew who was also very accommodating and grateful for our business during these very challenging times. Would highly recommend.

Celebrating my mother's birthday by taking her for a lovely afternoon tea. Friendly helpful staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere. All good.

Have just stopped off at our favourite place in Brockenhurst to pick up an afternoon tea & coffee takeaway. The scones are absolutely delicious. If you're out this way definitely worth trying. Beautiful little cottage & an amazing gin bar (under normal circumstances)

Just had a wonderful afternoon tea with my husband at Thatched Cottage courtesy of our daughter and son-in-law! The sandwiches were tasty, the scones still lovely and warm! The staff were so friendly and attentive! Thoroughly recommend a visit!

We were slightly disappointed that the chalet had limited kitchenware to use and could have been cleaner.
But that did not spoil our visit st all.

Great attention to detail in the rooms
with tea and coffee provided and toiletries and friendly service from the manager who carried our bags to our room. Our “Gin Flight” on the terrace was good too.

Their cream tea revived our energies after a long walk in the forest. The scones were fresh and everything was just delicious.
The staff too was professional and lovely — we will go back!

Just about the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff couldn't do enough for us even though we were a little demanding! Felt so happy and comfortable there, will definitely go back if they will have us. From my personal point of view I would give it five stars.

We had a wonderful overnight stay here. We were in the Hibiscus garden room which had an amazingly comfortable bed and lovely bedding. The shower was great and the towels were big and fluffy. Breakfast was superb, quality ingredients beautifully cooked. 10/10 from us! Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Thatched Cottage Hotel for two nights and I wished we could have stayed longer. It's a cozy and lovely place and there is so much to explore in the beautiful New Forest NP. In Brockenhurst there are many good restaurants and pubs in walking distance. The staff and especially the Hotel manager is/ are very kind, friendly and international. The historic room, we had, is a pretty special place. An old fireplace in the room, comfortable bed and an old-style but modern working bathroom (good water pressure). The room has a second door directly to the garden. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, Cream tea in the afternoon and had a "Gin-Tasting" in the evening. There is a good choice of Gins from all over the world. The Thatched Cottage Hotel is a very dog-friendly place: when we arrived, there was a bowl of fresh water in the room for our dogs after the journey and also a little food gift for them. We've got good hints for our activities and we will come back for sure!

Lovely afternoon tea with my friend today. The staff were very attentive. The scones were fluffy and very yummy Then we stayed and tried some of their fruit gins. The whole experience was fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely experience.

We spent the Bank Holiday here for 2 nights. Very lucky to have booked a room last minute as there was only 1 left! Fabulous gem of a place, comfortable, quiet and peaceful in the garden rooms. Impeccable service from the staff and breakfast superb and the cream tea was the best! (and Ive had a few! ) We will be return however all dates I have looked at are fully booked so need to plan ahead and get in there quick! xxx.

Had a great stay at this place. Right in the middle of Brockenhurst. Everything is within walking distance (obviously). Loved the really proper british breakfast. Perfect size. Nice selection of gins. The rooms have load of character and are really cozy. Perfect spot to use as a base to visit the surrounding walking routes. We had our son with us (9 months) and a crib was provided, though he preferred to sleep on our bed instead. Parking spot right in front of the hotel. Amazing fish and chips within 100m as well as a terrific Italian restaurant. Would stay again. 2 thumps up.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay — can't praise the Hotel, Staff, cleanliness, location enough. A charm of a place and a credit to the hotel management and staff. Well done and please keep up the good efforts. Excellent.

Had a wonderful few days at the Thatched Cottage Hotel in Brockenhurst. Matthew, the owner, could not have been more helpful. Our room was very pretty & quaint & had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Our lovely breakfast was cooked to order & the staff were on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit the New Forest as it was a good place to explore from.

Comfortable and well furnished. Poor soundproofing spoilt it, could hear people talking (and everything else! ) in room above. Left a day early to go home and get some sleep!

We had an absolutely brilliant stay, we stayed in the garden suite (a generous upgrade) & had plenty of room. Our little dog Brody loved it & enjoyed sprawling out on the floor after a lovely long walk in the forest. The breakfasts were delicious & the staff were so friendly & welcoming. I can not recommend this beautiful place enough. We will certainly be back again xxx.

This is the first ever time I have reviewed my stay at a hotel whilst I am still here! In truth it can't get any better than this. I can only repeat what other guests have said about the gin bar. The quality of the rooms, the very attentive and polite staff and the superb breakfast. We were only saying today that one doesn't need to travel far when everything is here. True the thatched cottage do not provide evening meals but there are loads of eateries within walking distance. I have already recommended this to my friends (many of whom are gin fanatics! ) So I hope they will also give it a try. So now on a quiet Sunday afternoon we contemplate another few gins this evening before a staggering walk to a Thai eating house. Oh yes. We shall return! Lindsay and sue Baldwin. Southampton. Lady grey room. Lovely!

Friendly and helpful staff in a traditional cottage. Informations for first time visitor in the area are available, food is delicious and presented nicely. Price maybe a little bit high. There are many positive things to appreciate, few things to fix, first, it is the un-even flooring in between the toilet door and bedroom, it's an issue of health and safety. The bin inside the CR was made of wood, quite hard to lift without physically lifting it with your two bare hands (hygiene) The bin inside the kitchen should be out of sight from the dining area, overall experience is very good and I will still go back and stay in this accommodation in the future, I hope the flooring and bin issues are resolved. I like the mirror with the clock.

An absolutely perfect setting to spend New Year! We had a warm welcome from the start with friendly and attentive staff. Our room was so cute & cosy with everything we needed. The Gin Bar was well stocked with the staff knowledgeable about the gins. The breakfast was amazing and a good start to the day. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Great rooms, very friendly & helpful staff. Easy location to find & conveniently close to the station. We attended a wedding near by & the Thatched Cottage proved to be just right.

Came across this delightful place by pure chance walking up the road and wandered in for coffee. Have to agree with earlier comments about the cream tea scones, superb! Staff all very friendly and service just right. Will have find time for a return visit.

Best cream tea I have ever tasted, huge delicious homemade scones, beautifully presented and the service was excellent. We should have shared one cream tea between us as the scones are really big (but so yummy). To top it off, gorgeous location.

Very nice hotel. Nothing to complain about here. Clean and tidy and a very pleasant stay in centre of Brockenhurst. Bike rental, pubs and railway basically across the street and the beautiful New Forest is all around. Highly recommended!

Spent just one night here last night, great place. We stayed in the garden rooms, which were lovely with comfy beds. Brekkie was great, and attentive helpful staff. Would certainly recommend.

Second stay over the years (same room) I was expecting the rooms to be revamped since it has been taken over, I have to say considering the cost I was a tad disappointed, the shower was full of mould, which could easily be cleaned with mould spray, and a unsealed of bottle tap water was a let down, again a sealed bottle of water would be a nice little touch, water left in the kettle from the last visitors… staff were nice enough, and the new owner introduced himself over breakfast, which was nice, we have been going to the New Forest for many years, and we normally stay in a hotel just down the road, thought this might be nice for a change! being this was our 38th wedding anniversary it was a bit of a let down, sorry guys.

Fantastic! Easily got to be the best place in the New Forest. Beautiful rooms with beamed ceilings, antique fittings and nic naks. Great tasty breakfast. Lovely staff especially Jade with the wonderful smile. One of the best places ever stayed. Very very dog friendly with doggy treats on arrival. Nothing was any trouble Will stay again. Highly recommended.

Nice place. I liked the gin bar quite a bit and they had a tasty breakfast. Slightly on the costly side for what it is, which is why I've only given it 4 stars.

Trying a flight of interesting gins at the gin bar is definitely recommended.

We dropped in to the Thatched cottage for afternoon tea having seen that it is under new ownership. What a great welcome we received, and the fresh scones could not have been fresher, served virtually straight from the oven. Top quality cup of tea too, served in classic bone china cups. The place is freshly decorated and the staff clearly take a great pride in their jobs.
