I would not recommend Moss Lodge for a wedding venue. Despite the meal for our wedding breakfast being nice, we felt like most of our requests were always too much trouble and things that were agreed were not carried out on the day. For example, prior to the day, I telephoned Samantha to arranged a sandwich to be made for my photographer however, when my photographer asked for the sandwich she was told they had no idea! My sister (who is a vegetarian) and I had a meeting with Pauline and was advised that cheese on toast was to be offered to vegetarian guests, yet not a single cheese toastie was made on the night. The catering I picked for my non vegetarian evening guests was hot pork and stuffing barms. I was hugely disappointed, when I had tasted this, to find the pork was extremely dry, no butter, no stuffing and stale bread. The cost of this was £8.50 per barm! I later asked other guests who reported the same review as myself. One guest was purchasing two Bacardi and cokes which consisted of two optic measures of Bacardi and only one can of coke, when my guest came to pay she was actually charged for two cans of coke despite only one being used. My guests were told to vacate the room because they needed to hoover up as they had other guests staying, this came across quite rude as my wedding party were day guests.

I attended a baby shower at this lovely hotel. Fabulous food, lovely surroundings & furnishings, lovely sunny patio area & very friendly helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely ladies. Thank you so much — a good time was had by all!

Perfect stay for after our wedding — we even had a slightly later breakfast as they knew we wouldn't be up early! Rooms were lovely and very clean. All staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay again if the occasion arose.

Friendly staff and a lovely venue, a hotel with both character and comfort. Great food and attentive staff.

Brilliant staff, especially the Manager, a warm aunty who personally ensures every guest is taken care of. Christmas decorations were brilliant… a tree in every nook and cranny of the common dining rooms.

We had a very pleasant stay, room was very comfortable and elegant. Breakfast was excellent the service was 'top notch' all thanks to the welcoming, friendly, professional service given by Pauline, a 1st class hostess.

Absolutely stunning beautiful old style building, stands back from the main road in quiet well groomed grounds. Picture perfect with staff that are eager to please and help in any way possible to make your stay that unforgettable special experience. Really lovely hotel. My room was very pretty and spotlessly clean. The owner was extremely welcoming. Would stay here again and definitely recommend to others.

Has to be the best place we've stayed when visiting Rochdale or anywhere else for that matter. The rooms are comfortable and there is a nice atmosphere. Meals are wonderful and breakfast is freshly cooked to order. The most fantastic thing about this place though is the outstanding customer service! The friendly and welcoming staff cannot do enough for you and Pauline especially, made our 4 day stay perfect. She treated me like a friend she'd known forever and took extra care of my teenagers when I fell sick. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough — book now before you miss out on this hidden gem!

Me and Jackie got married at the moss lodge it was fabulous!. We can't praise the staff enough. Pauline makes you stay very comfortable. Rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast is fab.

The food is excellent as are the staff.

Attended a wedding there, was very good, rooms where good standard, just missing a kettle in the room, there was a coffee machine, but would perfer a kettle.

Such friendly staff, a lovely clean room super breakfast.

Beds very comfortable food very good, we had our wedding here this year everyone complemented every detail, was made very welcome, shame it was booked the night of our wedding, staff very friendly. Stayed one night before the wedding very enjoyable stay would recommend.

It was amazing for the price we got the deluxe room for 120 and the person who runs it was fantastic and I would stay there again any day. A Good thing to do is to eat out at a local restaurant and have a amazing breakfast at the hotel. I rate it a 5/5

Stayed last night. What a beautiful place, lovely room, clean with everything that we needed to get ready for a wedding. Staff, what can I say, outstanding. Friendly, and helpful. Learnt a new life skill after a member of staff showed me how to use work the tea/coffee maker. Had a lovely cup of coffee this morning before I left, made with no staff intervention this time ha. A lovely place to stay, shame you can't get in the old telephone box, we took a pic anyway. Would I recommend this place. Hell yes!

Visited moss lodge yesterday and had a look around we was created with a warm welcome and showed around the rooms are emaculate and look very comfortable but unfortunately the venue room is too small for my needs.

What a fantastic place, I will be back at the very earliest opportunity! we booked tow (gorgeous) bedrooms and an 80th surprise for our mum & this family run hotel could not do enough for us… 'Auntie' Pauline is an amazing dedicated hard working family member who went the extra lengths to make our night one to remember. Thank you everyone who worked so hard at the MOSSLODGE HOTEL. Absolutely fantastic.

One of the best boutique hotels I have stayed in. The room was excellent. Clean. Comfortable to the highest standard. Food was very good and staff friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I would recommend and stay at again.
