We arrived on July the 11th for a one night stay for my birthday, we were greeted by friendly staff that helped us check in and sort the parking. I advised a member of staff later in the evening that we were here for some retail therapy for my birthday, he wished me a happy birthday and gave us a voucher for us to have some non alcoholic drinks (as requested) and some snacks, what a lovely gesture. Breakfast was a lovely continental spread in a clean sitting area. Check out was quick and simple and again friendly staff wished us a safe journey home and hoped they would see us again soon. Great customer service, clean rooms and a general good feel about the place. Would we return yes. Thank you to all the staff at the Ibis for adding to a wonderful trip to Manchester. Great value for money. Ideally located near tram station for travel to anywhere in and around city. Convenience stores located at short walking distance for snacks etc. Lake in front across the road is an added attraction for relaxing. Will love to come here again & again.

Rooms are very clean and rather basic, but the bed was very comfortable. I stayed there during the heatwave and the air conditioning was bliss, a great nights sleep was had. Breakfast was very limited with few options, I would go to the Tesco 100 yards away if I stayed again as I don't feel £5 was such good value to add to the room cost. Car park is secure, it's free during the day but £7 to keep your vehicle overnight. Plenty of places to eat across the road. Overall I would recommend this as a place to stay for the night.

Does what it says on the tin. I got a room for £29 and wouldn’t want to pay any more than that. For the price it had everything you needed though, not the quietest of buildings as far as sound proofing goes but can’t complain as Manchester isn’t the cheapest place to stay any more. Nice view over to Media City from the room if on the right side.

Great value for money in a great location. Everything you need but nothing you don’t need. Be careful if you’re driving to this hotel. You have to pay for parking but this doesn’t guarantee that you’ll actually get a space. If you leave the car park but when you return, it is full it’s tough luck. Would be 5 stars if the parking was better explained.

Good budget hotel. Great location. Cost of parking was a shock and not clear on the hotel website at all. Just says you have to pay, not that it is £7, when the room was only £42 inc breakfast. Now the breakfast was good. Just a continental buffet option. A reasonable choice, great coffee and juice!

The location was fine. The room was far to warm and struggled to sleep. Couldn't turn the air con onto cold. I asked at reception but was still not sorted. They provide food and drink at reasonable prices and the staff are friendly. I put £10 deposit for a hair dryer and it sparked and smoked as soon as I plugged it in, I didn't see a electrical test sticker on it like I did with the replacement.

Only suitable, in my opinion, for overnight or weekend stay. Accommodation is clean but basic. No complimentary items offered, no kettle, tea, coffee, shampoo, shower gel, which are usual complimentary items. Limited space in rooms hence no wardrobe or bathroom (shower only). Does offer a comfy bed, though the overall feel doesn't make you want to rush back for it. The price though, (£30pn) does reflect these points, although when demand increases so does the price. Up to as much as £119pn which in my opinion is a ridiculous amount for what is offered.

Check-in was fast and easy, however we came 1 hour earlier and had to wait 1 hour or pay 10 euro for earlier check-in. Other budget hotels prefer to keep the customer happy in this case. The room was small — reasonable for the price paid. Breakfast was comparatively cheap but was very poor either. It cannot be named "Continental breakfast". Better eat something outside. Most likely will be cheaper and better. The biggest shock for me was that I had to pay 1 pound for a small shampoo because the room doesn't have it. Been in all kinds of hotels in many countries — this never happened to me. For 1 pound in the nearby shop you could purchase a big bottle of shampoo. This is a poor way of making money from people.

Stayed here a few times. Very clean hotel. Standard room but lovely and cosy. Staff are professional and friendly. Prices are reasonable also, I would recommend staying here if your passing through as it right there for local amenities.

Great one night stay due to visiting the Lowry Theatre (10-15 min walk away) surrounded by tons of places for food and drink and easy metro access for the rest of Manchester. Room was decently sized as expected for a budget hotel, service was great check in took 1 min and the check out was instant. Perfect for a night away at a reasonable price (£49)

Came here with 7 friends for a stag weekend. Rooms are basically like storage cupboards with 2 beds wedged into them and a sink, shower cubicle and toilet squeezed in at the side. You really do get what you pay for, that said we were not too bothered as we had plenty planned and would not be in the rooms much. The major issue we had was that on arrival got told that the water would be off throughout the hotel from 0900 until around 1300 for some sort of repairs. When I asked if there were any alternative facilities that we could use for showering we were told there were not and we would just need to deal with it. I asked about a potential partial refund as they were not providing all services stated and was told that I would need to speak to the manager however he would not be in until the following day (this was at 2 in the afternoon). I find it shocking that a hotel like this is (supposedly) left with only 1 member of staff (a young foreign girl at that) on reception with no managerial oversight for any kind of contingency. Anyway long story short, nothing offered by way of recompense or alternate facilities in the end. I did consider taking it further to trading standards, environmental health etc as I'm fairly sure knowingly having no running water and as such working toilets (outside of unforseen emergencies) in a running hotel with guests is illegal.

Great location near Manchester United Old Trafford football stadium, a 10-minute walk from the hotel. From the new center of the BBC has 2 tram stops, arriving in 5 minutes.

As the name implies, this is budget. Don't expect too much. Check in was quick, ended up paying for breakfast but prob would have been better off with breakfast from the nearby Tesco express. Toilet and shower were a bit on the small side especially for a large guy like me. Window did not open fully due to security concerns. If you are going to an event at Old Trafford, like I was, this is a perfect low cost hotel only a 10 minute walk away.

It was ok for a budget hotel, clue is in the name I guess. But the room was designed a little strangely. There was absolutely no space in the toilet which was it's own cubicle. If you stood up too fast you'd hit your face off the door. The shower was built straight into the wall of the room, normally wouldn't be a problem for a couple but it was a twin bed room. However the place was clean and staff were friendly. Not bad for the price.

Very clean and perfect location to Old Trafford Stadium. It is also great that you can order hot snacks such as pizza 24h a day.

Not bad. Rooms with encrusted bathroom. The cistern makes a noise that as you throw at night wake up the people in the room. Not bad. The tram is 3 minutes away. Very nice workers.

Hotel location was excellent as I was visiting Old Trafford. Metro link is across the road. Breakfast OK. When booking nice pictures of huge fruit stand and in reality a small rack with apples and oranges. No yogurts. No milk at the tea making machines. Room was clean but bathroom not cleaned daily. I had to ask everyday for an extra towel. On the whole it was a positive experience.

Overall my stay was a good one, one minor point the toilet in my room was very small. Large people would have found it very difficult to use with the door shut. The room was also quite noisy due to being next to the trams, not a massive issue for me but it could be for some. The staff were all friendly and helpful although most were speaking English as a second language making it quite difficult to understand them sometimes. (I have a hearing issue making it more difficult). The location is excellent for exploring Manchester or attending Old Trafford (football or cricket). I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will use it again if I am back in Manchester.

I liked that the hotel was very close to Old Trafford — the main reason for my coming to Manchester. It was also well connected to the city centre by trams. What I didn't like about my room was that some of the facilities did not work properly: the toilet flush worked only occasionally, as did the card for opening the door. Also, one of the shaver charging ports did not work. The room was very clean, though, and the bed comfortable. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay.

The first two nights were no problem. The third night (When we were up at 0400 the next day for a flight) there was a group across the corridor from us who were noisy. I spoke to them and then after reading the policy notice on the back of the door which says the hotel operates a zero tolerance policy regarding noise disturbance spoke to reception. Reception said they would send security to speak to the group. The noise eased off shortly after (As the group went out) and then resumed at about 0200 when they returned. At around 0340 just before I went to shower I heard shouting from the corridor and looked out to see security speaking to the group (and if there is a zero tolerance policy why are they doing this twice I wonder? ) Spoke to reception and asked to be reimbursed for the previous nights stay, this was over ten days ago and still waiting. My eight year old son hardly slept and was sick as a result and my aunt who was visiting us had to drive five hours back to her home with very little sleep. The reception staff were very apologetic but were unable to help. I will not be staying in this hotel again!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning following a delayed flight. The 2 male members of staff were so welcoming and friendly a credit to your company. We were checked in really quickly. This was our first time in an Ibis hotel. Room basic but had everything and was really clean. Shower was really good. The downside for me was the bed was too hard however my husband has a back problem so he thought it was great. Issue for me was not having a plug next to one of the mirrors to see when drying/styling hair but that happens in quite a lot of hotels. Overall it was great value for money. Also when leaving we were greeted as we came out of lift by another welcoming lady member of staff. Your staff are a credit to your company as they all seem genuinely happy with your guests.

We like that all services in Ibis Ibis Strandartny, not the first time I use this service. The room is small, but it has everything you need. The price is usually what you need.

Very basic, but exactly as needed, service was excellent. WIFi throughout hotel is very useful. Hotel very busy but room was very quiet.

Booked this hotel last minute for a night away. The welcome at the hotel was not great but the room it's self was fit for purpose. Great location but would benefit from more great parking. Very noisy housekeeping staff woke me and my partner up. You get what you pay for :)

Great budget hotel. Room basic (as expected) but immaculate. Staff very friendly. 24/7 pizza = awesome but make sure you book the hotel in advance for the best rates — the price advertised on the door was much more expensive than the price we paid.

Very compact room but perfect for the price and a 1 night stay. Rooms are sound proof. Which can't be said for some of the more pricier hotels. Had a wonderful nights sleep. Close to Quay side/Media City and Manchester. Subway and Tesco Express nearby but snacks and drinks can be bought in the lobby area of the hotel. Would visit again.

Positives — Rooms clean and contain everything you would need for basic stay. We stayed in a room with a double bed with a single bunk bed above. Had TV, toilet, sink and shower. Bed was very comfortable and slept well. Shower very powerful and hit. Refreshing. Location is good, right by tram line into town. Restaurants across Road too. Negatives — toilet was size of a tiny cupboard. Tall people would struggle as legs would probably stop door from closing while they sat on it. I don't know how guys would have room to stand. Sink was actual next to bed so once used toilet had to come out into room to wash hands. The shower cubical also opened into room so once washed, had tiny towel to cover modesty and get dressed under as no actual privacy. Suppose that's alright for couple or someone with children. But little awkward for me and friend from work. Finally no tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Unbeatable for a couple of days in Manchester. Not a lot of space and not a luxury. Everything, the reception was clean, friendly and efficient. What more could you want when you need only a Hotel to sleep at night for a few hours.

You really get what you pay for with this place. It's cheap and cheerful — but brings 'basics' to a whole new level. If you are after a cheap room for the night, its great, otherwise… don't bother. A hint — don't bother with the breakfast in the hotel, theres a place across the road that does an even better cooked breakfast for about the same price.

Hotel was clean but the rooms were quite small. We paid for three sharing and we're given a room with a double bed and a bunk bed above that. Continental breakfast was a free for all and there was not much to choose from.

Rooms are small but functional. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Also, reception gave another family our room code after we had got into it. Then the next day tyre key cards wouldn't work!

The hotel is very close to tram station and using the tram services, one can go to city centre within 25 mins. The hotel is also 15 mins away from Old Trafford (by foot). Cheap, clean and a nice place to stay.

Extremely basic room, clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet with only the bell from the passing trams being heard through the window. Breakfast is limited to a continental style with some pastry, cold meats and fruit. Fine for the £5.50 they charge.

Acceptable room, small beds with little storage space. Parking was an issue, due to the shared nature of the car park but was at an acceptable cost (£3). For a short trip the hotel is suitable but basic with good transport links and within a central location however I wouldn't go there for my honeymoon.

Nice clean well for a weekend.

Our room was in front of the railroad but even if a train comes thru, you almost heard nothing. Only the shower and toilet were a little bit too small and narrow for a 1.80 m guy like me. The whole room was very clean and the staff very kind and helpful. Because it's a hotel of the budget category the price we paid was really cheap and we haven't regret it, that we booked our room at ibis.

No frills but just right. Simple clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, Wi-Fi works. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Bargain for Manchester.

The room, service and location of the hotel were perfect but the fact I didn't get a wink of sleep due to people knocking on the room door several times through the night was intolerable and unacceptable it made me, my daughter and her friend very uneasy.

Clean, cheap, top transport links… Perfect for a weekend!

Perfect for a budget stay. Fairly modern rooms with funky lighting, had everything you need bar any shower gels. One problem we did have was a resonating toilet flush which lasted around 2-3 minutes and was ridiculous. I emailed the following day suggesting it wasn't fair for us to be paying the full amount which was, politely, but immediately rejected. We did not have time to change rooms/ ask for someone to make repairs at midnight but we were queried on this in the reply email.

Ok for what u pay. Somewhere to get ur head down after a few drinks.

Modern feel to this clean budget hotel. Breakfast and location fine. Rooms are small but manageable. We had a noise issue that the assistant manager would not resolve however we received compensation higer up the ladder.

A basic hotel on the outskirts of the redevelopment around Media City. Not an especially convenient location but we'll connected between two Metrolink stations. Usual Ibis Budget facility of a box with a bed to sleep in. Bring your own shampoo.

Lovely clean hotel nothing special, just somewhere to crash after a night out. Friendly helpful staff. Ideal for public transport. Although why they choose to associate themselves with an awful taxi company I. E street cars is beyond me. Do not use the phone in the hotel to book a taxi with street cars. Ask reception for another number or Google one yourselves.

The stay was fantastic, the rooms are small but in the line of what is expected, reception staff dobresaliente and always attentive.

My partner and I booked into this hotel from Friday 13th June to Monday 15th June. We came to Manchester for the Man utd legends football match. The hotel is very clean, The staff are very helpful, the breakfast is fresh everyday the rooms get cleaned everyday the beds were basic but very comfortable. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Cheap rooms, fairly comfortable beds and a nice shower.

This hotel really is 'budget'. If you're looking for cheap, this certainly is that. It has no comfortable feel, or mod cons (the floor in the rooms isn't carpeted for example), but it does the job. I probably wouldn't choose to stay here, but it's not the end of the world. Everything's clean, but feels very clinical.

While prices can certainly be well above what I would consider "budget", you likely won't find a better brand hotel experience in Manchester in the price range of this property. While a little off the city centre, you can easily get there in a few minutes via the tram stop that's just a short walk away. As with every IBIS brand hotel, the rooms are heavily standardised, and (plastic) sink, (plastic) shower and bed are in the same space with only the toilet having an extra door. While the interior certainly leaves no doubt about the budget side of things it makes it easy for the friendly staff to keep rooms clean. However, although I do like my hotel rooms clean, Accor would do good to add softener and feebreeze to their service handbook as the smell of chlorine and bleach is present from their toilets and floors, to their towels and bedsheets. The beds are rather basic but comfortable enough for a good nights rest! While our room was right above the tram tracks and adjacent to a majorly busy road, noise isolation was great with the windows closed and we could've slept the entire day if we wouldn't have been busy. I recommend to book well in advance for lower prices but altogether I can recommend this hotel. Keep in mind that you can always get better, if you are willing to pay the premium.

It's that the price of hotels and apartments is so high in Manchester that I had to use this hotel but at the end it gives what you pay for. Perfect location for the Man United match as that is only 10 mins walk away. Across the road enough choice in restaurants and bars.

The room was very small and for a budget hotel you defiantly only get what you paid for. However the shower was amazing.
