Reviews of Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa 4*
Fabulous staff, nothing too much trouble 💕
Amazing hotel. Excellent staff, brilliant rooms.
Had a lovely 2 nights away for my Birthday, everything was perfect, stopped Bed, Breakfast and evening meal, enjoyed the spa and relaxing round the pool. 🥂
Lovely hotel great staff recommended for a meet up with friends or events fabulous spa looks great for weddings very warm and friendly definitely going back highly recommend fir any event 💋
A wonderful place for our Birthday stay. Fantastic facilities to use in the Spa. The room was spacious and spotless. The atmosphere in the Hotel is welcoming and friendly, staff can't do enough to make your stay feel special. The choice of dishes in the restaurant is both very good and delicious. As an extra we got to meet some of the French Rugby League team that are based here for the World Cup. Finally, thank you to Judy for arranging our stay and putting up the birthday decorations for our arrival.
I had a be restful treatment by a lovely lady called Leanne, she was fantastic! She made me feel so comfortable and my goodness did she know how to get rid of knots! Absolutely amazing 🤩 the spar was so friendly and the hydra therapy pool was a fantastic end to a perfect day spent with my daughter 🥰
We visited here on Saturday for overnight stay food was lovely breakfast beautiful staff couldn't do enough for room lovely definitely go again. Mr and Mrs Mitchell.
We stayed last night 28/08 we enjoyed our stay but have some points to bring to managements attention. Room was lovely all facilities fine spa was lovely very clean, the hydro pool overlooking the car park is not the best. Drop inn has lost its quaint charm it was empty probably the price of the drink that has put people off. Courtyard restaurant was very busy my main meal was cold took some time to get staff attention and they replaced meal which was only slightly warmer vegetable weren’t cooked enough manager did come over to speak to us and I voiced my concerns which he apologised for. Breakfast was great hot and good choices. Zoe Leyland was so lovely and looked after us made a refreshing change after last night.
Worst hotel stay ever. Extremely noisy no air conditioning no reception staff at 2.00am to complain too terrible stay. My recommendation do not stay!
I was truly amazed by this hotel, the staff where amazing and genuinely nice to get on with. The hotel is spotless clean and the facilities especially the spa where amazing, I have been to many hotels and this is by far the best. I like how they have a choice of bars and food, I had the fish and chips and it was delicious 👌 the grounds are truly beautiful and well maintained. I loved the little Viliage shops I even got my twins a kite for when we go on holiday. I’ve had a fantastic experience and I will definitely be returning very soon.
We had such a nice spa day. We had Leeanne and Steph. We highly recommend. Also Janet on the spa reception all so nice and helpful! we will most definitely be back!
Really lovely hotel friendly and helpful staff highly recommend.
Had a lovely stay at the hotel. The customer service was outstanding with friendly, helpful staff. We had a dinner, bed and breakfast deal booked directly with hotel and received a welcome glass of wine & £10 food& drink voucher as a reward for booking direct 😊. The spa was lovely & the room very peaceful, comfy and spacious.
Had a great stay. Clean rooms friendly staff and hotel pool and thermal bath were lovely! Evening meal was DELICIOUS! Would stay again.
Me and my Husband visited the last drop Spa today and thoroughly enjoyed it the facilities are amazing totally relaxed, we both can't wait to visit this place again, highly recommended.
Lovely hotel friendly staff great food and the spa is amazing I last stayed here 18 years ago and I’m pleased to see it’s kept all the great features and modernised well can’t wait to stay again.
Great comfortable room, fantastic night sleep! lovely food in restaurant and spa was great too. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Fantastic place, staff so friendly food was amazing and we loved the spa and pool can't recommend this place enough, definitely will be revisiting.
Great day at the spa! Friendly staff, great facilities and treatments. Would highly recommend.
Lovely spa, friendly staff beautiful grounds, thank you x.
Great service from friendly staff, great food and excellent facilities. We ended up adding an extra night to our stay 👍
The most fantastic staff anywhere, from the GM to the guy looking after the bins. Couldn’t do enough for us. My wife is awaiting a hip replacement and the GM found us wandering the grounds looking for our room when we arrived. He took our case and moved us to a more suitable room. Every member of staff has been so courteous it has been fantastic. Extra shoutout to Franco from the restaurant who helped us massively.
Great staff/ food and venue! A must to use the spa facilities.
Fabulous spa facilities, friendly attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
Lovely family friendly Hotel. Visited with my husband and our 9 year old daughter. Took advantage of the NHS offer, lovely treat. Great food, lovely big rooms that allow dogs, beautiful local walks, fab spa area and a great variety of gins at the bar (highly recommended the Turkish Delight Gin). We will be back x.
Brilliant place for a spa break staff brilliant and food is amazing, Thankyou for a lovely stay 😊
Great hotel. Had my wedding day here. The staff where fantastic. Would recommend 100%
Absolutely relaxing and loved every minute, the afternoon tea was very tasty and just enough for each person. X.
We had a lovely relaxing time during our two night stay. All the food was delicious — our only regret is that we never tried the bar food because what we saw other people getting looked fantastic! Such a chilled and relaxed atmosphere and plenty of outside spaces to enjoy a drink if the weather is nice. The shop/ gallery is lovely for a wee wander. The pool and thermal suite were so relaxing/ could’ve spent all day there.
Our first time out since the latest lock down, my husband is clinically vulnerable, he’s had both jabs, I’ve had one our daughters had one, however we’re still anxious. We felt so safe, the staff were totally in control despite everyone being so spread out over a far larger area than the indoor restaurant would be. The service, food, atmosphere was faultless! Thank you we will be back soon 💚🥂
We’ve just had some lovely food from the Courtyard Restaurant. Prompt service and a brilliant to be sat outside in the sunshine — we’ll be back!
First post lockdown drinks.
Super friendly staff couldn’t be more helpful.
Good drinks great service
Feels safe too.
Amazing spar facility’s and staff…
Great home from home especially as I usually spend at least one week per month in residence. Everything works and everyone looks after our needs with a smile. Always clean, always updated rooms and furniture. And always a good wholesome meal and Service appreciated. Homely and friendly throughout.
Everything was just great couldn't fault anything. Well done staff.
Lovely helpful staff, lovely food, relaxing atmosphere, great spa … lovely place to come and relax eat well and doesn’t cost a fortune especially if you opt for one of the offers … great value for money.
A lovely place, good food & great service.
Excellent food and service. Restaurant managed to high standard. Lovely place to relax and unwind.
We had a fab night with u last night. Fab evening meal and breakfast. Lovely touch leaving a birthday card for my hubbie. Well organised for social distancing and amazing staff. Cant wait to come back x.
We had our wedding here at the penny farthing suite on Feb 22nd 2020.
Fantastic staff. 3 people really looked after us and cant thank Liz, Nicola and Stuart enough. You made our day that bit extra special.
the food was amazing from the wedding breakfast to our hog roast in the evening.
The room was above and beyond what we had expected.
Thank you.
Mr and Mr Ainsworth.
Had a lovely relaxing time ; the spa facilities were lovely especially the hydrotherapy infinity outdoor pool, friendly staff and lovely food in the restaurant, the rooms were clean but were very basic and would be nicer if they were a bit more spacious, overall we had a lovely overnight break.
Had a lovely stay for my friends birthday, kind friendly staff lovely rooms and great facilities, will definitely be going back.
Highly recommend the spa here. Very clean. Very friendly. Best spa I have been too.
The stay was lovely, comfortable beds and its dog friendly is a massive bonus for us. Quality family time and delicious food. Loved it.
Just had a lovely two nights stay. One of the staff, Isabel is a credit to her team, genuine and very caring. Well done!
From Check in to departure everything was top class! The front desk staff were very friendly and all the staff gave 100% to enhance our lovely stay. Shame we couldn’t stay longer. Will definitely return in the future. Thank you to all.
Lovely hotel with great facilities and wonderful staff x Gerry the General Manager is also a lovely man doing a great job x.
The food very good and friendly staff and service was excellent.
We had our wedding venue here in 2012 lovely little Hotel well lovely venue and the staff made a run very smoothly despite us having bad weather I would highly recommend the venue and the food was excellent.
My Fiancé and I stayed overnight on the 9th/10th Sept, we thought it was great, lovely room, lovely food and great spa facilities and very friendly staff.
Absolutely beautiful, bar staff was amazing including the waiters and waitresses. Food was tasty with lots of choice. Loved the spa, all together a great experience.
Thank you.
Had a spa day recently with my daughter for her birthday. Fabulous day, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff, good value for money. Lovely Espa products used during treatments. Special thanks goes to Zarha. Lovely afternoon tea. Thanks.
It was a beautiful place for my partners birthday. The room was beautiful in the courtyard and the restaurant and bar the food was great and excellent value for money.
Went on a day spa with treatments. Excellent service great food great atmosphere great staff. Amazing treatments (thank you KELLY) very professional best back neck shoulder and facial ever. Well equipped gym. Wonderful afternoon tea fresh sandwiches.
Beautiful hotel. Particularly loved the bar, the bar staff in particular Ian and John made our visit a fantastic time. They were enthusiastic and entertaining such a lovely fellas, my husbands wallet fell out of his pocket and john called our room to tell us reception had it still intact with money and cards. Top bloke needs a pay rise, absolute diamond. X.
A super time was had throughout our stay. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food exceptional. The spa facilities were excellent as well. Thank you Last Drop Village and Hotel.
Amazing from start to finish, we booked dinner bed and brekfast, food was amazing, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were nice and clean and the bed was so comfy! We got use of the spa which was just amazing as we picked a nice day to go so we was able to enjoy the outdoor pool bit. Lovely place to stay and lovely scenery.
Great hotel. Fantastic food.
Recommend completely.
Super food and friendly staff. Wonderful pools and saunas.
huge and comfy beds and spacious rooms.
The rooms were lovly the spa facilities were great. I had a massage off Mini who were very good she got rid of all my knots which I needed. The village its self looks georgous. Abit disappointed in the disco night package which we booked for a group of 9 of us. It was set up in the pub and was a buffet 2 course meal rather than a 2 course meal served to you. There was only 1 meat dish which was stew and dumplings there was 2 veggie dishes and macoroni cheese. To be honest there wasnt much choice and would have been alot better being served rather than a big massive que and having to dodge people with your food once u got it for it wasnt very spacey. There was only a choice of 3 deserts which were fruit crumble and custard or choclate cake or fruit. The food tasted lovly but didnt look very appitising served out of silver trays like when you were at school. Infact thats what it reminded me of school dinners. A few hrs after the people who had the stew all had bad stomach ache and felt a little sick. We wasnt too bad to not enjoy ourselves so we made the most out of it. Also luckily we managed to get a table near the dj but prior to this we was on the other side which I realy thought was ridiculous for you couldnt see people dancing and we coulnt all go and have a dance together due to someone having to watch our bags and drinks. It didnt seem very organised and we all expected better from a lovly hotel.
The day overall was very good. Pool quite hot and lots of time to soak. Up to treatment area drink and chat before appointment s. Great back massage and relaxing facial. The visit to restraunt area for afternoon tea was very disappointing, thick bread on sandwiches and an almost total absence of cakes. Usual scone jam and creme but a total miss in the cake area. A small triangle of flapjack, a small macron and three tiny (jelly bean size) confections of unknown taste in little dark chocolate cup. Whatever happened to Victoria sponge? Sad end to a good day.
Excellent venue in a picturesque setting. My granddaughters wedding was wonderfully managed without any fussing about in the background, in fact you didn't notice any of the staff going about there business but everything was done quietly and efficiently. The meal was beautifully done and full of flavour, could 'nt fault it, again everything done quietly and efficiently. A lovely day made even better by tentative staff.
We went there for a wedding. Very nice venue but bar prices are far too high unless all your wedding guests are wealthy (a £12 bottle of prosecco cost £30). There are absolutely no electric car recharging points in this huge place and none locally either, which is baffling. There are government grants available so all they need to do is apply. There's are a few nice shops that are worth taking a look at. Overall a lovely day as long as you remember to juice up your EV and bring your credit card with you.
I’ve have been to the last drop village a few time now and every time has been amazing myself and my husband enjoyed our wedding night here last year and came back this year to celebrate our one year anniversary we was in an amazing large room which my husband had upgraded to with champagne and chocolates in our room we booked dinner bed and breakfast the dinner was amazing so much to choose from and all tasted amazing breakfast was exceptional the spa is great and peaceful the outdoor pool was our favourite and the treatments were great aswell such an amazing place with a few shops on site to have a nice walk around can’t wait to come back again.
Stayed many times and highly recommended. The location is calm, peaceful, provides pedestrian paths in the nature. The rooms are comfortable and have enough space for long stays. Breakfast could be better but they serve hot dishes as well. Dinner menu is limited but the food is really good. Wide swimming pool and spa makes it better. A minibar in the rooms could make it perfect.
Such a shame! This place has so much potential but always manages to let itself down when it stages events. Today we went for a family fun day. Apparently all the rides they had booked cancelled at the last minute so this meant the "fun" was definitely missing from the day. Instead there were 4 stalls. One selling sweets, one toys, one tombola stall and sand art. Not much to keep anyone entertained for the 5 hours the event was running. So sad! Really hope the event team has a big shake up to help realise this lovely venues full potential.
Have been here a number of times and initially thought it was fantastic. Gorgeous spa and steam rooms etc with a large swimming pool. Great views and a lovely little village built into hotel. Food and drink above average but expensive. Reason only 4 stars as it could do with a renovation as it has not changed in 10 years. Noticed rotten windows and a lot scruffier than previously.
Yesterday I had my wedding reception at Last Drop Village but over the past 12 months our time here has been amazing. We have used the spa, eaten and stayed over here. Our wedding planner Jade has supported us through our wedding journey and nothing has been top much for her.
On the morning of the wedding we were looked after by Nicola she was truly fabulous and so attentive my make up artist and hair stylist was so completmentary of her.
My photographer and videographer were so excited about the shots we were able to get in the surroundings.
During the reception nothing was too much for the staff.
Our guests had so much fun and were still able to access the England match!
I'm sure we will see you again soon.
Attended a spa day with afternoon tea and treatments for the hen party of my sister in law to be.
We spent the day using the spa facilities which were ok, the changing rooms could use a little titivating as they looked tired and old. In the main pool in the morning there were swimming lessons on with a casual swim in the afternoon. Not ideal when you've come for a pamper and relaxing day and there's young kids splashing about around you. The hydrotherapy pool was nice and it was a lovely day to be outside.
We got quite a lot of conflicting information. Just before lunch time the bridesmaid who had organised this day went to ask if we could have afternoon tea outside to which we were told it was already set up so no. This was over an hour before we were due to sit down. When we went to the afternoon tea, we were slightly early and was told to get a drink at the bar as our places weren't set up yet… to then be told that actually they were ready for us and led us through. Not much interaction from the staff throughout the afternoon tea… apart from a male member of staff telling another member of staff very loudly to "f**k off I'm busy" from the kitchen which we could hear clearly. Not very professional! Treatments were lovely and relaxing but please do tell your staff if they're going to mock their customers to please do it out of earshot of them! Another dose of unprofessionalism!
Went for a spa afternoon today which was okay. The treatments were lovely and the facilities were alright. However the afternoon tea that followed was pretty poor. Having booked over a week in advance and prior warned them that I was lactose intolerant, I was very disappointed with what I was served. The only milk available to me was rice milk, which is not the best and a bit lazy to say you can buy long life sachets of lactose free in Asda for under a pound. Also when I booked in for a traditional afternoon tea, I did not expect to be presented with a side salad, some chopped fruit and bone dry sandwiches, which in my book doesn’t constitute an afternoon tea. When I asked for someone to put some sunflower spread on my dry sandwiches, I was handed two small tubs of flora and told to butter them myself. I asked why there were no cakes on my cake stand and was told what I had been served were the only options available to me. The young girl that served us tried her best but didn’t seem to have a clue. I think you should have been more prepared than this. Really disappointing to be honest.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. The facilities great. Loved the spa area with the outdoor hot tub. The food excellent. The only downfall was the pool which is on the small side when you have to keep dodging the kids splashing about. But this didn't spoil the stay.
Went for a spa day which was lovely and relaxing, however I am only giving it 3 stars just because I wouldn't exactly call it luxurious. The pool is more like a sports centre pool with a couple of sun loungers round the side. There were swimming lessons going on in one lane — thank god we were having our treatments when the kids lessons started in the afternoon! Nothing against kids or anything but I go for a spa day for child free time, not to listen to other people's kids making a racket! The thermal suit was nice and I loved the hot pool which opens up to the outside. BUT the view is terrible, right onto the car park and road up to the hotel! It would be better if they at least planted a hedge or something to block this! The treatment itself was lovely, I had a full body massage and the treatment room was very nice. I would also like to comment on the food in the hotel restaurant /bar. I would give that a 2 star review if I were to do it separately. I had an egg sandwich which tasted like it was made with salad cream instead of mayonnaise, on slightly dry bread. We also ordered a 'garlic flat bread' which was actually just a pitta bread (! ) with some garlic butter and cheese on, also it was hard round the edges as if it had been microwaved! I would have been embarrassed to serve that up when I worked on a restaurant!
Attended a wedding here and it was excellent. All food was served piping hot to all the guests. All 3 courses were delicious. Wedding was well organised and all had a lovely day. There is lots of parking both at the spa and the main hotel at the front and a large car park at the rear for events. Drinks are very expensive though.
Stayed here for a wedding between Christmas and New year. Had a fantastic time. Only down side was the bizarre way you get locked out of the buildings after checkout times. We had to walk all the way round thd outside of the hotel in the snow. Maybe they should think about covering those walkways with glass. I understand why they do it bit not good especially with young kids in tow. That said would stay here again but would be more prepared.

Room was clean and spacious. Poor water pressure in the shower was disappointing. Use of spa facilities is great and really enjoyable. Breakfast in the morning was vastly over priced but the food was nice enough.
Lovely hotel with great spa facilities. The staff are warm, friendly and professional. The rooms are above standard and clean. The hotel is much larger than it looks and has some lovely grounds. Highly recommend staying here.
Quaint touristy village with great photo opportunities. Pub was closed on our visit. Cafe was dated and average food but lovely staff. Excellent gift shop with great variety of merchandise. Worth a visit for this shop. There is a hotel and spa here but we never tried them.
Well we arrived here last night after being diverted to Manchester airport instead of Glasgow the staff were at the door to help with luggage and room allocation! Taking order's for dinner. The room was lovely, spotless and really cosy! The staff are really helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent!
Went for afternoon tea, been many times before. Usually as a spa day. In September we ate in bar, as restaurant not open at lunch. This was ok as bar area nice and bright. Yest 27/2 we had to have afternoon tea in tea rooms we were told. Tea room is dark and dingy, no tablecloths, like a tatty cafe. Not the best afternoon tea either, no salmon sandwiches now, just beef, ham and egg. Scone ok but rest of (cakes) disappointing. Mostly shop bought little almond things. Not worth 15 each. No China tea pot or cups. Disappointed won’t be going again. Shame standards have fallen over the years. Plenty more hotels around doing better.
Had a lovely day at the spa with my daughter. Specially liked the heated pool that went outside. All the staff were very friendly and it was a relaxed chilled out experience. Would go again.
Superb stay this time around. Looks like a lot of work has been put into a modernisation and its paid off well, place was great. We stayed in an exec room which was top notch, bed really comfy.
Last Drop Village is a great place for a relaxing get away. The rooms are lovely, large and in a great setting. The pool and spa area is great, I love chilling out in the warm water while watching it snow or looking at the stars. The Bar area and restaurant have friendly helpful staff.
Extremely relaxing break. Room cosy and warm. Beds very comfortable. Food good. Service little slow. Treatment relaxing. However, not value for money.
£27 for our Christmas staff do! Absolute garbage. They had over booked which meant we were not in the function room, just a small pub room. They had to squueze another table in that they hadn't set up, which meant I had no room to move during the food. And the food was very poor. Served on child sized plates, dry and very small portions. I definitely do not recommend!
Staff were professional and attentive and the food was great. Room was really spacious and the beds lovely. Only issue was the slight hum and drone of various air-conditioning units, which made sleeping quite hard. And the shower sounded as if it wanted to take off for 5 minutes before it was usable.
I visited last drop village hotel & spa for a tour of the location to consider having my wedding there. The staff were all incredibly polite and friendly, always served with a smile, and actually have personalities instead of just being there for the money. The entire hotel is very well presented and maintained, with a great gym and spa available to guests, with both an indoor and outdoor pool! Whilst we didn't stay the night, we saw the rooms and found them to be standard rooms for a hotel, with more than enough room to sleep comfortably. There are several function rooms available too, all of varying sizes. Able to host as little as 30 people up to hundreds. We personally looked at the harmony suite, and found it to be perfect for what we needed! Definitely a hotel and spa that I would recommend to anyone in greater Manchester, Lancashire, or anyone just passing through!
Delightful hotel complex, made to look like an old village. Nice shops and tea room to walk around and explore. Only downside to rhos visit was that the temporary fair had blocked off the exit from the car park so the only way out was against the one way system. Could have been donne better.
Excellent hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Has spa facilities about which I overheard some complimentary remarks. Meals were good and well presented. My only complaint relates to the lack of a lift as I was on the top floor and I am no longer young. Would definitely stay again if I had a room lower down.
Lovely cottage room with bedroom and seperate living room. Lots of space. Bathroom large but very noisy. Can hear other rooms fan and water pump on. Restaurant nice and service very good.
We came here around 10 years ago and it has changed quite a bit since then, there is now quite a nice looking modern spa here. The stores to the rear of the hotel are still as quaint as we remembered and the cafe is still great quality. Though from the car park at the front it looks like you can't really go beyond the hotel due to a no entry sign on a gate post but this is only directed at cars not pedestrians. Still a nice little hideaway.
Room like an oven with no air con. Went down to reception once to ask for a fan and was told they would bring one up. An hour later I went down again to ask and was given the same response with no result. I've tried ringing the reception line on the phone at least 10 times and it just rings out. It's currently the middle of the summer and the bed sheets are thick enough to keep an Eskimo in his igloo warm. I'm actually writing this review from room 34 and hopefully my fan will get here soon!
Had a fabulous summer spa day with 2 of my friends today. The staff were so attentive and polite, the pool and spa were lovely before our treatments in the beauty rooms. Maria was my therapist and she was amazing. My shoulders were in knots and she has magic hands and released all the tension. The facial was amazing too. After a delicious lunch, we went in the thermal pool to chill out and then had a couple of drinks in the bar. We were made to feel very special throughout our day, an absolute treat and can't wait to come back. Thank you all so much x.
Have previously stayed at this hotel when it was part of a different chain. A lot of improvement has certainly been seen since then — the overall look and feel is much better, with an improved bar and restaurant menu, too. Gym equipment is also better than I remember, with much less broken down items. Room was quiet, comfy and very well proportioned. All staff friendly and helpful. Only minor point was shower kept running hit and cold. Will definitely be staying again.
Very nice Hotel surrounded by greenery. Very good also the SPA. The only problem the Internet connection. Really slow. Beautiful TV 50 inches but not even an Italian channel.
Well I can't think of one good thing about the Last drop village Spa. Four of us went on a Day Spa break last month. The receptionist was rude, very unhelpful. The Spa was dirty, used tissues, orange peel, puddles of stagnant water and cracked broken tiles with a distinct smell of sweaty feet. When we complained we were told by the receptionist that it was only cleaned once a day in the morning. The spa lunch was boring and tasteless. The whole day was like something from 'Faulty Towers', lunch late, treatments late, we went home more stressed than when we arrived.
Lovely helpfull staff very professional nice room although the Windows had a big gap around so them so was quite cold in the room food at the resturant was lovely and breakfast was nice overall really enjoyed the stay but needs a few little repairs to the rooms.
I was looking forward (and paid for) a promise of a full day consisting of an interesting seminar by Yamaha Music UK and great food provided by The Last Drop. I remember just how good the food was here, as my son had his wedding reception in one of the suites. At lunch time, I was one of the last to go to the annexe where the buffet was, as I was in the middle of discussing a few technical issues with a Yamaha representative, so we were actually hardly 10 minutes behind everyone else. When we got to the table, I was absolutely disgusted and appalled at what I saw, no clean plates or forks, it all looked as if there had been a food fight, scraps of food left, there were dirty plates piled up, the remains of god knows what and empty platters, but I would never know what was originally on them. No sign of any staff, no one replenishing food or clearing away dirty/empty plates/dishes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Was this really the Last Drop whose reputation for good food and great service is so well documentated? The people from Yamaha were now looking rather embarrassed and were trying to find staff to clear away the debris and organise more food as clearly not enough was provided, but there was no one around to ask or advise the chef, suddenly, a platter of deep fried squid arrived (which no one wanted), and at that very moment everyone was called back in for the second half of the meet, so I actually had nothing to eat.
Booked a spa day for a friends birthday. We got 2 treatments, the first being a back massage which was lovely & relaxing& definitely recommended. We then booked the manicure & polish which I was very disappointed with. It was done while we still lay on the bed after the back massage. There wasnt enough time for each layer to try properly so it got smudged as soon as we went to put our dressing gowns back on as we then felt rushed to leave the room as others were waiting to go in. I feel this part would have been much better if we had been sitting at one of the nail stations, Lunch was lovely despite being served in a box but we had to ask for a cup of tea or coffee after. The coffee machine in the lounge area wasn't working & we were then told the coffee machine in the eating area wasn't working either s only basic tea or coffee available so quite disappointing. Also there were children in the swimming sauna area which was not as relaxing as expected. I don't feel it was worth the £69 each we paid for it.
Last Drop Village Tea Room is, I imagine, connected to Mercure Hotels. As one of three regular walkers who always call at a cafe at some stage during or at the end of our walk, I believe we have a good idea of quality and good value concerning a hot drink and a cake. After ordering our modest fare and receiving the bill, I thought that we had strayed from the outskirts of Bolton into central London during a conference on the world coffee and tea shortage and the funeral of Mary Berry, Queen of Cakes. I paid £2.80 for a small cappuccino and my friends paid £5.05 for a tea and a modest cuboid of chocolate cake and £5.70 for a latte and an almond slice. Our drinks and cakes were all of average quality and the man who served us was unwelcoming but efficient. I would urge anyone who happened upon this establishment, to seek refreshment elsewhere as it provides poor value and quality. We also spoke to a couple in the outside area who were charged £8 for two bottles of Perroni. It's enough to drive you to drink. But not at this place! I would love to have a chat with the management of this "Tea Room", in order to express my views about the pricing and quality of their products and their service. Feel free to contact me. Ken Roper.
Just come back from an overnight stay with my daughters-in-law. Had a great time. Rooms clean and adequate, staff very friendly and helpful. Good food and atmosphere. Spa and pool great. Would certainly go back. Think some of these reviewers were in a different place. Jennie Clews.
Stayed the night before and the night of my wedding (we did not get married on the premises). The bridal suite (Lancaster) was a little dated and could really do with brightening up, but I could not fault the services of the staff nor the quality of the food in the restaurant (NOT the pub). Lovely surroundings and a very pleasant stay overall.
Really enjoyed a spa day with my mum. I have just booked a best friend one too. Lovely treatments. Lunch and a hot pool with open air so you can see the countryside and breath in the fresh air.
We booked this hotel again after visiting 20 years ago, for our anniversary. We can not recommend highly enough, the Staff are all lovely, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were very surprised on the 1st evening when answering a knock on the door to be met with two glasses of Prosecco and congratulations from the management, a lovely gesture! Will not leave it 20 years to visit again! Lee and Claire.
Almost identical to A Google User! I'm a wheelchair user who came for a wedding. My brother had two tots in a double buggy and found getting round the hotel complex challenging. Finding our way around in the dark after the wedding breakfast was very difficult. It was cold, wet and windy, there was little lighting and almost no signposts. Staff were friendly. Furniture was very worn in places.

RespondComplex estate with no maps in room and extremely poor nay nonexistent signage to different venues within the estate. Especially unfriendly for disabled or pram using people. Reception area with no indication of accessible entrances and reception staff unwilling to leave desk to open door. Route to venue for bride not thought through with steps and cables most unsuitable, later found a smooth stepfree route, why didn't the organisers know that route? promised room for family breakfast not available although paid for leaving us with a bad ending of what should have been a good experience.

Had Christmas lunch on Christmas Day good service, very enjoyable, lovely to be with all the family. Then today 27th Dec took our grandsons for afternoon tea and then watched Aladdin. Really good fun and the afternoon tea was delightful. Enjoyed by all over both days.
