BAR OF GENERATORS HOSTEL LONDON09/14/2019 23:58
Reviews of Generator London 3*
First of all, you have to pay for everything and I mean everything, I stayed at a room with ten people with only 2 power plugs to charge your phone and if you wanted to charge your phone outside of the room you had to pay (1 pound for THIRTY minutes). The bathrooms are really dirty and are shared bathrooms. The music at the lounge is so loud you can't have a normal conversation with anyone. Not to mention the breakfast is way too expensive. You can't bring food from outside to eat at the bar and there's no kitchen, not even a microwave.
Loved this place, fun, clean and great location.
Fun! would definitely stay here again!
My first ever hostel experience and I’ll defiantly be returning! Very clean, modern with great facilities. The room was very warm, the windows don’t really open far enough. Downstairs is great, very lively and friendly staff. (I’m ever so slightly in love with the lovely girl on the bar, the one with glasses! )
Can't deny this place 5 stars. Great location. It's clean and modern and has cheap dorm rooms, a lively bar, lockers, 24h check in and hot showers. That's what you want from a hostel when you're travelling right? I wasn't actually travelling but needed a cheap bed for a few hours each night and this place left a good impression. The beds were that plastic cover type which are hot and sticky but that's pretty unavoidable and you don't have to feel guilty if you're a night dribbler or bed wetter. Plenty of good eating places nearby. Enjoy London.
This hostel is certainly worth staying at. Has a great bar which isn't expensive and food is available. They have washing machines and dryers which are expensive to use however this is understandable and a welcome addition when staying in a hostel. The lack of air conditioning should be noted however I stayed during a heat spell, which isn't too common. Security is great and reception staff are phenomenal. Location is perfect, not too noisy but also close to get around and see all of London. The 4 bedroom room was cramped, so would probably recommend the 6 bedroom however if you have great roommates its not an issue at all.
The hostel is great only if you don't stay in the cold season. There is no heating — the cold is terrible. But otherwise — a great place for a budget tourist (clean, tasty, comfortable mattresses).
The staff is very kind and the rooms are very nice and clean. I luckily find Jessica who is an Italian girl who works there and she is incredible! She's very good to welcome people and to make them feel comfortable. It's been a pleasure talk with her because you can see the passion she has for her work. Talking about the hostel, there's a lovely and simple breakfast with a good amount of choice. Very nice the zones of the bar and the chill room.
The hostel is located very close to King's cross. Each floor has a different thematic and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff is very nice, to the point that I didn't feel comfortable in the first room they gave me and without questions asked they changed me to another. The atmosphere is quite nice, particularly if you're on holiday, but they have different areas for chilling too. I feel breakfast is a little bit overpriced but then again is a buffet breakfast with hot meal and continental breakfast. Downside is that they don't rent towels, they sell them, so don't forget to bring yours!
Nothing to say, everything perfect for the price!
Rooms cleanned
Insane food (recommend dirty burger AAAAAAAAAAAA)
Really cool nightclub, no problem with the sound.
Very disappointed, from my first time in this hostel, I decided to rent a private room, the price is not given and without service no towel no amenities (soaps, gel for the body…) for the price I paid €145 two nights, plus the private rooms are fair below the nightclub of the hostel so until 3 o'clock in the morning you hear Boom Boom Boom. The toilets and showers are not very clean (forget your tongues) in short if you come with your buddies it can be cool but if you come alone to visit the city looking for another Hostel in addition I find the prices more expensive than in other hostel.
Acceptable place to stay. The location is undoubtedly great that just 5-10 mind to King’s Cross Station, the busiest station in London. However, the hostel charges money many where at a high level. I stayed at the 4P dorm that even have no socket in the room, please pay. The cost of luggage storage is high as well (see the phone). Will stay somewhere else next time.
Rather a hostel than a hotel, small but functional room, with a sink and power outlet.
Fresh bedding.
Beware that it is common bathrooms.
Nice rooms. Bathrooms are shared on the floor. Nice but not sufficient hooks for my liking when I was trying to hang all my clothes. Beds have a privacy screen which is nice.
Good hostel Although the toilets were a bit dirty.
Excellent stay, clean room, comfortable bed and many services available.
All in all good. Rooms for London are affordable, only had problems with the heating in the 2-bedded room, which was not quite so funny in November. Otherwise, there are sometimes DJ evenings and entertainment downstairs at the bar, quite nice.
Street 37 Travistock. Rooms of 12 people very spacious and comfortable. Free buffet with little food to choose downtown and with a good service.
Good value for money. The rooms are comfortable and even though the hostel is usually full of people don't bother because it is well organized. The bar is good but the kitchen closes early.
Actually a good place for what you pay. It all depends on the people you share the room with, if they respect the rules, everything is good to go. The bed is comfortable enough. Bathrooms are clean enough. It is a safe place, staff is nice. Is not fancy, just a place to rest.
Good value for money. I went with a group of friends and missed more showers and bathrooms. Near the center. Nearby Metro.
Burn Price. Near King Cross. Friendly staff, security all night and youthful atmosphere. The only bad thing I see is paying for the towels. And that when they clean the bathrooms clean all at once.
Only the location is top and the price is fine and convenient for London conditions. Within 5-10 minutes you will be at 2 tube stations. Rooms for 4 people are far too small. In the communal showers you could go swimming from 10 o'clock. The toilets were mostly clogged up to the time of cleaning. Towel had to be purchased for Slim 5, 50 GBP. Overall more suitable for teenager/backpacker.
Hi, stayed there for 2 nights. When we came in the sheets WERE NOT changed, there was hair on the sheets, the room was very small. There was chewing gum on the door. After asking 3 times the sheets finally got changed. Also at around 11pm a man told us we were being to loud while some other people were playing music way louder than any human could ever speak. The evening meal were decent. The breakfast was a little lacking but not that bad. Overall I would not recommend this hostel. TLDR: Positive: Goodish evening meal Negative: Rude staff Small, dirty room Lacking breakfast Shared bathrooms.
Very good experience. The hostel is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We agree with groups of students but being quite separate the pub area of the rooms did not bother at all. The common showers very well.
Recommended!
We went on a study trip, we were robbed several in different rooms, in one of the rooms there were stains on the floor after not having been in the room all day, the boys bathrooms on the floor 2 are usually masked men (People's fault, not the staff) The breakfast very basic, does not include even some toast or some cocoa. Very good attention that yes.
Nope! So the dorm rooms in the basement were unbearable — stuffy, humid, dark, dirty etc.
The staff is friendly but incapable and unwilling to help or to take on any alternatives the technology has also left to be desired — the room card had to be reactivated daily, which was very cumbersome if you came home late in the evening Is.
The hostel is not necessarily something but unfortunately despite 2 castles the box was tried to break under the bed.
I am not a person with high standards but I think the hostel is not recommendable at all.
The only positive is the location!
Located close to the center and metro, very clean and convenient room, ideal for groups.
Service weak and unprofessional. Room Samuel. Good location and cool hotel bar. Cleanliness leaves something to be desired.
I have a good time here. The score of 3 was won by a high security guard El and Moreno. I shut up super bad and even came to touch me and register without my consent because he thought I was introducing alcoholic beverages in my coat the irony of this is that I do not drink alcohol.
Nice place. For young and not so young people. Many different room sizes according to your needs. Prices for small items like umbrellas, etc at the reception too much high. Cheaper one any shop even in Piccadilly circus. Breakfast could be better. The time before the last one was much better. This last time no so much variety.
Very nice hostel. There's a Tesco down the street. Tesco is like the British target in good. Next to the Tesco is directly the stop "Russelsquare". Here you can go to the city centre very quickly and easily. The Oyster card is the best way to do this. It smells a little after urine but hey, it smells all over Germany.
I loved it. There's so many interesting young people from all over the world to meet, the staff is way too nice and the rooms and so are quite well. I loved meeting people in the pub (which is inside the hostel) at night. That hostel has really positive vibes. I really recommend it, even more to young people that want to see other cultures mixed up in the best way and have fun. Both, the place and the location are very comfortable, and the atmosphere is great.
In our case we had private room with shared bathroom. The room when we arrived was not clean and they opened the door without calling when we were already inside. In addition, the check in should be from 3pm and we did it to the 16h (time had had to clean it). Removing that first bad impression, the room was small but not bad. The truth is that we spent 4 days very comfortable.
The shared bathrooms were very clean and everything was new.
Something good that has this place is the location. We chose this hostel as it is very close to King's Cross as well as the Russell Square Metro. In just 10 minutes by Metro we could be in central London.
The hostel is open 24 hours so you can go back to the time you want, which is great. One thing we did not like too much was the theme of the slogan as it costs 4 pounds to leave the suitcase in slogan and in other hostels it is free.
Despite being a hostel, it is all super well soundproof, the bed is very comfortable and the hostel is very nice. Super Central. Recommended 100%
There are small details such as spaces to leave personal items in the room as well as in the bathrooms. In the rooms are missing personal lights in each bed. This would make the stay very good. The rest is fine.
Very poor accommodation experience! The room was on the ground floor, the smell was cold, the house was in a mess, and the staff had not been cleaned for three days. The most important thing is that the room upstairs is a pub, every night is very noisy can not sleep, shaking headache.
Generator Paris has infinitely higher grades of quality than London's. The common area is great and reasonably-priced, but that's about all the positive I can say about it. The rooms are incredibly small, shared bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. My 3-bed dorm had enough space for only one person to move around the room at a time, had a tiny mirror with a sink. Mind you, I'm 26 and not really in a party mindset anymore — but if I was maybe 19 I'd love this place. I stayed here 2 nights and the downstairs "club" blasted music until 3 AM (even on Sunday night). Again, if you're an older traveler and looking for a good night sleep, move along; if you're looking for fun and to party with fellow travelers, you'll love it.
Perfect stay at amazing prices. Stayed for only one night but had a great night in the bar and then returned to a quite room and hallway. The rooms are up to date, clean and practical bathrooms. Nice staff and useful storage for luggage during the day. Only downside is the continental breakfast which doesn't have much range. But all in all a great place to stay in London.
Clean, organized. Top tier price with bottom tier service. They charge ~£6 for towels, don’t offer the option to rent (most hostels we’ve been to lend you towels for free), breakfast with the worst coffee you’ll ever drink is £8. They don’t offer a kitchen to guests and, like a soccer stadium, don’t even allow you to bring any food of your own in. You’ll also need to buy padlocks for the lockers (the wombat — a much better hostel, look it up — lets you conveniently lock and unlock lockers with your bedroom key card) and pay impressively high prices for laundry. Ah, and buy the laundry powder first at the reception before going downstairs to the laundry room, because — of course — it’s sold separately.
A good and big hostel. With a super central location. Breakfast is also fine. My room was quite small though. I was a couple of days on New Year's Eve, and I think it was almost booked. The cleanliness of the showers and toilets has suffered a bit. I hope that is better otherwise:)
We visited the Generator hostel London at the end of December for two nights.
The hostel is located behind a small entrance in an atrium. At the reception, we quickly and Friendlyly received our six keys for our two triple rooms.
Both rooms were made up of a bunk bed and a single bed. They had a heating and a sink. The size of the room was ridiculous. It was almost impossible to stop three in the small shoe box. Even prison cells are bigger.
The room, beds and bedding were clean. The beds had to be referred to.
Toilets and showers were only in the hallway, but they were spacious, modern and clean.
On the ground floor of the hostel there was a large, modern bar with reasonable prices (pitcher beer for 14 pounds). Every day a different theme evening took place. Everything was possible from beer pong to karaoke and billiards. A DJ heated up with music properly.
In the small courtyard there was a smoking area, but you could only enter if you smoke. My buddy who just wanted to stand by was sent back in by the unfriendly security.
The security was the biggest joke in the whole hostel. Even if you were talking in the courtyard on the lowest possible volume, he came down furiously the stairs and asked "Keep your voice down, I'm not joking" for dead silence, otherwise you would fly out.
Nice staff especially the French receptionist who really was at the Top. For the rest the room is passable we ended up in a basement room with common showers not having doors but with shower curtain… The bathrooms are of dubious cleanliness. The biggest negative point comes from the vigil supposed (I imagine) to ensure our safety but who just yells at us with looks of sick oxen… Positive Point the bar and are ambience are rather cool.
In itself a good clean hostel but problematic is the heating which is either permanently on or off but on the whole we were very satisfied price performance top evening you can pass well in the bar the time.
We stayed for two nights and had a blast. The private room for 3 people was accommodating. No thrills but also no problems, and for the price paid we were very happy. The bathrooms were clean if regularly closed for cleaning on our floor. The showers were basic and we couldn't find any lockers to put clothes. The bar downstairs was fairly priced and we made good use of it. The staff were chatty and friendly, I'd definitely go back if I needed a place to sleep in central London again.
A great hostel, clean, comfortable and relatively central, 5 minutes from the British Museum. Totally recommended.
All right, for one night. Price — performance ratio is right.
The best. Prices OK. Staff OK. Services OK. Ability to speak English 0. Kitchen 7 \ 10 More for the quantity to choose than for the quality to which you can assign a 9. Excellent reception.
Clean rooms.
Presence to 0 of internal delinquency, I do not mean of the staff, but of the clientele.
Great hostel, suitable for young people, rooms and services cleaned and kept with care. At the super reception available. They offer different theme nights, great for making acquaintances. Bar service with average prices.
I recommend the. Site. Very clean and very cool. M has a music bar. Billiards. And the. Site is very modern… it's worth a lot. Penalty. Shared bathrooms. But very clean.
➖ First and last time we were on the 5th floor with a elevator down during the entire stay. To access the "sanitary" we had to spend no less than 5 doors fire and long endless corridors. The Orange juice served at breakfast is neither more nor less than powder in water: undrinkable! Not to mention the rest. All in a noisy atmosphere with no respect for others, our floor was full of groups of boys who howled in the hallways all night slamming the doors… in short to want to cram too many people without watching anything, it's quick anything!
➕ the lobby and the bar are beautiful. I recommend this hotel to young people who come to party and meet in groups. For others, go somewhere else.
The location is perfect but really disappointed in the rooms very small and dirty. The housekeeping had not been done. The shoes are glued to the poorly washed floor. The common bathrooms were dirty, full garbage cans that overflow with female waste. Not at all consistent with the pictures on the Internet.
The atmosphere was very nice, but the room was not cleaned on arrival (11 a. M. In the evening). The beds were used and the floor full of rubbish from the preusers. After two complaints at the front desk and an hour and a half waiting, the room was then cleaned. After that, everything was fine.
Well friendly and good staff. The hostel is clean but I dont like that only 1 toilet for a few rooms but more across in another hallway and the howers are also in another hallway. And at night it is very noicy till 3 or so in the morning but then again they call it a party hostel I think. But the have nice breakfast even tho a little on the expensive site. First one if u buy at check in 6.5 £ but after that 8.50£. But all together it was ok.
And here we are more than two hours waiting to be given our beds. We have been put in a room where the beds we have paid are occupied. The reception has been painful. If you do not mind arriving and not have a bed in a place where you will not be able to sleep this is your place.
Nice hostel in great location. Very nice staff Remember anyway that it is a hostel with the various inconveniences that are there. Very small rooms Little aeration.
Location: OK, about 7 minutes away from the underground rooms: clean but partly extremely cramped evening program: downstairs it has a really good bar with reasonable prices. Music was very noisy (like in a club) which is really cool. Disadvantage: Music ran all night and you also heard it in the rooms. Staff: Very friendly. Only security personnel extremely rude and aggressive: when you go with people to the smoking area without smoking you are yelled at and thrown out. You can't do that!
I recommend 100%. Do not expect luxuries, it is for what it is, sleep rest and wash (do not forget the towels). The rest and relaxation area (the bar) and the communal areas are perfect, good care and all very clean and modern. I'll be back if I can get away to London again.
Comfortable hostel, clean rooms and sanitary facilities. Friendly staff. Relatively quiet.
The price included breakfast is very poor from the choice and quality. Cheap and good breakfast otherwise on the other side of the road.
A good place to rest and have a drink after a long day visiting London. You can take a pint and play billiards in good atmosphere, before you go to sleep. The floors of the hotel are decorated with movie motifs.
Never leave a feedback like this but Not in this case. Unbelievably unprofessional staff (most of them) as at London reception and over the phone in head office. Staff can not tell you the sex of the person you're living with because they "don't understand foreign names". The account system does not work properly and your check-ins and reservations might be lost or unclear. The room (4 beds room in my case) doesn't look like on the picture at all. Staff can not arrange a taxi to arrive on time even if it was promised, also staff members do not pass any important details to colleagues at the end of their shifts. Toilets: 1. Some lockers do not work so you can't use the toilets 2. Flash doesn't work in some toilets 3. Hairdryer isn't working. Cleanliness: one good point is that beds are changed frequently, shower rooms are clean — but the sink in my room wasn't cleaned for ages. It's nearly impossible to use the lift as it's very small and slow. I guess it's good for group booking with possibly private bathrooms, can be fun spending time in the lounge or restaurant. Wasn't satisfied : (
Generator is the Ryan Air of hostels. No service, unfriendly and you have to pay for everything. Only difference, you still pay 100 pound for a shitty room!
Typical hostel of the chain, well equipped with bar and restaurant in a good location near King's Cross. Not-so-good common areas and no kitchen.
It's a really nice place if you are staying alone. Everyone is nice and you can socialize at night in the bar with other people. The food is amazing and it's not that expensive. The only bad thing is the kitchen close at 11 pm so when I arrived late at the hotel I had to go to some restaurant around the corner to have dinner. The hotel is close to King's Cross and St Pancras so it's pretty easy to get wherever you want to go.
Great hostel! There is a bar, a cinema, a restaurant you can find everything! The only downside are the rooms a bit small.
Very nice, clean place. I wish there were a fridge to put groceries, and if there were more space in the showers. Aside from that the bathrooms were great, showers were hot and lovely, and the beds were decent. Worth it for the cost.
I requested a room in the female only group dorm. They couldn't accommodate me for all the nights I wanted so they upgraded me to a private room for the first night. That was nice but then I essentially had to check out and check back in because they put me back in the group dorm for the subsequent nights. Most of the receptionists are nice but some couldn't care less about you. It's noisy and hot. The facilities aren't well cared for.
Great place, clean and quiet. Close to the subway and in quiet area.
First off (and this is for the Generator web master) pull out your smartphone and try to book a room. Bet you can't! Having said that it's among the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Clean, well staffed by friendlies, good location, everything you would need. Seriously great beef burger in the cafe. Maybe the best I've ever had. I've actually snuck in off the street when I wasn't booked there just to eat the burger!
I have stayed at a few Generator Hostels in the past, including this one. My last visit was very disappointing though. I paid £ 80 for one night including breakfast (3 small pancakes for £ 4) without having my own bathroom. The staff members were not really helpfull. It did happen to me that they spontaneously decided to forget their language skill once I asked them if they could help me ("Sorry, no english") despite talking in English up to that point.
The hostel has lockers where you can leave your luggage, this will cost you £ 4 for 6 hours and you can lock and unlock the locker as often as you want during that period. However, one staff member insisted I pay the required £ 4 every time I opened the locker. Upon telling him that his colleague told me I only had to pay once, he left to check up on that and never came back.
The toilets were not very clean and I found the signs quite confusing because you never know if it's a mixed bathroom, a shower or a men's toilet until you actually go inside. (Therefore be prepared to walk in on guys urinating…)
Overall a very disappointing experience, in particular since I'm used to much better Generator Hostels.
This Hostel chain is a Luxury accommodation for those who are willing to travel with a backpack but can afford a higher budget. The Hostel itself has is own style and I made to provide entertainment. However the price do not justify the service you get in return. Breakfast included is ridiculous. Of course if you pay extra you get a better coffee and some croissants. At night some of the dorms, especially those at the basement can be very noisy because if the parties going on at the bar. This Hostel fits well those who are looking for that kind of atmosphere. Young, party-never stop drinking. Families and quite travellers should consider others options.
The room was very small, about 8 square meters for 4 people. I wonder if that is in accordance with the law?
Downside — had to pay for towels, the breakfast was awful, beds only had one pillow and wernt that comfy, men using the female showers, most of the toilets blocked. Was okay foe what we were there for bit it's more for back packers. Not really my kind of place to stay.
Not bad for location (near the metro of King's Cross which is in turn close to Stansted Airport), bathrooms a little too small.
Off the road. Was a little confused at first. Rooms are very simple, but clean and cozy. Nice bar and Wi-Fi works smoothly. Walls are thick enough.
Conveniently located two blocks from Russel Square, almost hidden in a small cul-de-sac. Rooms tend to be small but functional, the bathrooms are shared, but they tend to be acceptably clean. Boasts two pubs on the ground floor, one of them served at meals (good). There is a great room to watch TV and machines vending of drinks (without beer) and sweet. The prices are quite high, but London is expensive. Security that is stationed at the door 24 hours people are usually very friendly.
By far one of my favorite hostels. This place is hugeeeeeeee. They have a nightclub/bar inside of the hostel where the dj spins from the head of an old bus. Very cool hip and urban. Highly recommended for young backpackers. Don't think it's great for families.
Only when you step inside the gates do your realize how massive Generator is. This hostel is a city in itself, which means that there's something for everyone. For partiers there's a lively bar downstairs. For others there are good common spaces and free Wi-Fi. The location is excellent. 7 minutes walking to St. Pancras, and 4 minutes walking to the closest Piccadilly line station — great for those airport transfers (which is why I was there in the first place). The neighborhood itself is quite nice. There's a bike share station on the next block, a decent Falafel place on the corner, and a few shops down the road to the tube stop. My only gripe is the lack of foreign outlets in the rooms. Without a UK converter I was forced to pray for my backup battery to last me the night and the next day. I would definitely recommend staying at Generator. The price is excellent, and the accommodations are nice enough.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL! Firstly they don’t wash the duvets and pillows after every use. Secondly if you want privacy this is not where you want to stay, a man comes in the female dorm morning looking for a mobile phone and two men comes in the female shower room when I was showering. This is not a safe place to stay for females looking for a private secure room in London. Also the food is very overpriced, £6 for breakfast. The staff are rude they come into the room without permission even if you are changing and even if it is the opposite sex, I feel unsecured and definitely would not recommend this hostel to anyone.
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, clean rooms that were well kept. Only hostel guests are allowed inside and there are round the clock security guards throughout the building. There was a big scowling guard that was a bit off putting but the rest were nice while also making me feel secure. Wonderful food and drinks in the hostel, I'd recommend that for authentic London cuisine over going out, especially for breakfast or dinner.
I was in 1997 with our graduating class at the Hotel and I was very pleased. Price performance ratio was right. I think if people expect more luxury, spend more money. In addition, one is also only to sleep etc, so for us it was so. We explored London. This year there will be repays a stay in the Generator. Nice I found it thanks to Google again.
Location is very good. Rooms are too small. Service is ok. Too little staff. Little ventilation.
The young tourists where playing around all night and where disturbing. Spent 2 nights but couldn't sleep had to check out and go to travelodge. The food wasn't so great. I paid for breakfast for three day when I booked but only had breakfast once. Had to give it back when I check out. The noise from the late music in the ground floor also got to my room on the third floor. It wasn't good at all.
Awful service and awful staff who do not care about the welfare of the guests or listen to them as they only care about money. I stayed for one night in a 4 bedroom dorm. One of the residents, staying alone, had a mental health condition that caused him to have a brief psychotic episode which scared the other residents but I was able to calm him down as I also have bipolar and prevented him from suicide. I decided to stay an additional night for him but I couldn't pay by card online as I didn't have sufficient funds but I did have the cash. I was horrified when I was informed that I would have to pay extra £5 to stay in his room, I explained that I didn't want to stay in that room but as we're both disabled would they waive this fee and put the welfare of the guests as priority, they said no. I then said 'forget it, I'll go home and if anything happens you will be to blame' and they said nothing. Money before safety is not professional.
Went in mid-March and the rooms were kind of cold. Staff were nice but had to wait an extremely long time to check-in due to the party ahead of us having issues (around 30 minutes wait). Washrooms were clean, Wi-Fi was excellent.
Very professional, clean and safe environment, give you that hotel atmosphere. Reasonable prices, awesome staff members. You're close to many restaurants, University of London, not far to the Underground.
Rooms group orderly and clean, bathrooms clean, drawers, single beds a bit small, but sufficient. Bar and seating areas ideal and with many outlets, important.
The hotel in general is very original, focusing on young people. Even so, I have found things that should change, like putting that there is a disco until 3:00, without indicating that the music ends at 2:00 or better to a little bit the quality of the breakfast. Also, the heating of the room was not working and windows was allowed to spend the cold. Only you provide the bed linen and if you want a towel you have to pay, thing that I think that you should include.
Thank you Generator London for a great 2-night stay in a 4-bed dorm in the end of January, 2016. Your hostel is really great and you've got quite a few things going for you: + Very clean, everywhere (rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, etc.
This Hostel is causing a nightmare for local residents. Drunk youngsters coming home shouting, screaming every night at all hours, it is a disgrace. There should not be a low quality hostel like this in such a residential area, The security staff are beyond useless & do NOTHING to ease the situation. The Generator has caused me misery & sleepless nights for 16 years now.
It was allright. Decent dorms, nice bar downstairs. But it's the small things. Showers don't work, you can only buy towels (not rent) for seven bucks, no safe storage in the room, can't bring alchohol In (I assume to protect their booming business downstairs) … but nicely priced at the end of the day.
All in all a good Hostel. Some small rooms, and pent-up demand in the sanitary area, but a very interesting concept in General.
We had booked as a group through an Online tour operator for 7 couples in 7 double rooms. We stay beds, a 12 and a 4-bed room with bunk. The Hostel corresponded to the expectations. The staff was very nice.
Location very good, central location with a bus station nearby, good facilities (that is, if a little hidden) the rooms are small but not ask for anything more to spend a weekend, very friendly staff. The only thing is that the noise between rooms was heard a lot, everything else perfect.
Very good location and the staff is very attentive.
Clean toilets and showers. Very simple Breakfast of dry bread rolls. Had in the middle of the night a fire alarm (false alarm) and had to leave two Times within 5 days, the cards re-programmed, because they work. Recommended if you are looking for a Central location and not too much money to spend. But to whom comfort is more important than a good location, you should look for Alternatives.
Super recommended. Comfortable, good location and above all good vibes.
Service Very good, the owner is passionate. The price is not high, the youth hotel, very suitable for the hiker, we play the rest.
Nice rooms, nice ambience and excellent location. Only the Breakfast is a bit poor and the staff especially in the evening, a little grumpy.
Housing is a bit like a college dorm, but breakfast very good. Sometimes a shower no hot water.

What the France happened to me at the Generator hostel in London I blacked out and woke up in Hospital everybody right about the time Chelsea FC welcomed Sevilla FC I was at Russel Square smart hostel and made friends with Mo Khaddiri then at Generator shared a room with the cool dude Mike posner known as the Belarusian I was at the stadium in Chelsea and still have the photographs from this visit that night after one bottle of classic Tonic Wine time Chatting to a local shop owner I got my suspicion that he called the hospital when I told them I had ran away from Leverndale so finest mouthwash available and had like no drinks in the hostel then blacked out and lost all my toiletries and a mobile phone you know I woke up at the hospital with a passport and a bank card one way return to Leverndale. I hate Scotland.
