Location is excellent, but the room is very noisy… bed chips I think!

It's ok for a night. Simple room and ok price. But very small and not clean communal bathroom and toilets. Room was very hot. Breakfast was Alright.

Very good hotel, tidy and comfortable. Wifi quality is poor though.

Small city hotel in London actually quite OK location. The rooms were just a little rocked off and need a refurbishment…

5 years ago my father was an owner there and who ever come never complain. They said nice breakfast good Wi-Fi and a very clean room. Before my father would always clean the room by himself. But when the new owner came I heard so many troble not good reception etc. So the owner now did a very very bad Job.

Arrogant staff, tiny rooms where you find it hard to keep your feet on the ground properly. Broken toilet flushes, no hot water throughout the day. Wi-Fi is present but internet connection is weak and keeps dropping every now and then. Breakfast is stale and undercooked. No fire escape. No air conditioning. Excellent location in the middle of the city.

Room did exactly as intended, good for a small business trip with no frills.

The bathroom was terrible. Good location near Hyde Park.

Nice little hotel for a night sleep if you miss the last train.

Uncomfortable beds, tasteless breakfast dripping with oil, sort of almost, but maybe not friendly receptionist and staff. terrible parking which you pay £10 for then worry your vehicle is going to get damaged because it's squeezed onto a public footpath. not really that cheap either considering the state of everything. I won't be returning… Ever. Oh and as a sweetener, the Wi-Fi didn't work… And the shower is too cold or too hot… you get you the idea, sleep under a tree instead…

Small room too hot room like a sauna Toilet broken. The shower knob broken. Spotlights behind the window. The reception simply angry.

The Winrose seemed like the perfect hotel for our quick overnight in London because it was central and not too flashy. We had to be up early at into Central London after an evening arrival into Heathrow. We had hired a car to do the running around in, and as such we needed a place that had a car park. We specifically asked for a car park in the booking and backed it up with an email the following day. 10 quid for a car park space is expensive by any standard, but seeing as it was convenient, we were willing to pay that amount. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was not sure if we were at a hotel or a boarding house from the 1800's. We parked and went into the hotel to be greeted by a receptionist who advised us that our parking request had been received and showed us the parking spot. Alas, the parking spot was the footpath outside that was partially blocking the private access road that was used by all vehicles accessing the line of hotels and also blocking the door to the hotel. When I said that I had paid for a parking spot and not a piece of public footpath, the receptionist and the manager started arguing that this is what I had paid for. This is despite the fact that I pointed out that the car was definitely going to get scratched by either another vehicle or someone coming in/out of the hotel with their luggage. Fortunately a woman from another hotel saw what was going on and offered a place at nearby hotel.

What makes this place exceptionally pleasant is its homelike atmosphere, cosy rooms and friendly staff. (I was amazed to be addressed in my native language at breakfast! ) Great English breakfast by the way! Many thanks! Good Wi-fi connection enabled me to talk via Skype easily every evening. Perfect location: close to the tube and bus stops. And more, parks (Hyde Park and Regent's are both in a walkable distance, which is very convenient for travellers with children. Would definetely recommend this hotel to my friends.

We were there for two night May 2009. The location is perfect. 10 min to Hyde park and 10 min to Paddington. Good access to central London. Really clean room with great service. Polite and good manner staffs and compelet breakfast compare to other B&B. Good security and silent hotel.
