Review of Thistle Euston 4*

Just stayed at the hotel 19th November for one night with friends of ours. We had 2 rooms booked. Arrived at the hotel at 11.15am after the train journey from Liverpool. The hotel is literally 5min walk from Euston station (very convenient). Had about a 5 minute wait to check in as there were other guests ahead of us. The check-in was very good and the guy on the desk was pleasent and polite. I was told when I contacted the hotel the night before that we would not be able to… check-in till 2pm as rooms would not be ready till then. So to arrive at 11.15, check-in, be allocated ours rooms 404/407 and also upgraded to these rooms from standard double to rooms with king size beds was a massive bonus (thank you thistle). The room was very clean, spacious, massive king size bed, a modern bathroom with walk in shower and view looking out on Euston station. Only slight was the room was cold in the evening and we not get the air con/heater to work. There was an electronic plug in heater in the room, but it didn't make much difference. We spent Saturday on the Golden Tours hop on — hop off bus tour seeing many of the sights of London, had something to eat and drink in the city before making our way back to the hotel and having a drink in the bar which was a nice place to finish off the day. On Sunday morning we got up and went for breakfast which was included in the price. The breakfast is selfservice with ample to choose from and was very nice. The staff serving were polite and when asked brought as much tea or coffee as you wanted. We checked out and were able to leave our bags in a safe room which enabled is to pick them up later before the train journey home so that we could spend some more time touring the city. Overall is a very good hotel, conveniently placed, clean, comfortable, pleasant staff and good service. Wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
