So disappointing! I've stayed in a number of Radisson hotels and always had good experiences. However, the Radisson Kenilworth was such a disappointment. We entered the beautiful warm elegantly decorated reception from a cold wet, wintry afternoon. We were staying in town and seeing a show. A little bit of luxury. We could have travelled home but we love making a weekend of a theatre trip. So, bags in hand we arrived. We approached the check in desk, provided the details of our booking and we were advised that our twin room was available. I showed the receptionist my booking paperwork which specifically said I'd booked a double. The receptionist said she was sorry, the hotel is full and there were no other rooms available. I explained that I wanted the room I had booked and paid (over £200 for one night) for, and that I would not be staying in a twin room. Eventually, the receptionist said she had a double. But I had to be very firm before this room magically became available. On arrival in our room we found it was the smallest room I have ever been given in a hotel. The full length mirror was unusable because a table was crammed up against it. The bathroom door hit the bed when you opened it, the shower was so tiny, horribly old and covered in timescale. There was an awful smell when I ran the tap to clean my teeth. The carpets were stained in the bedroom and the window, despite being closed, had an icy wind blowing in around the edges. It was really poor. Not the romantic location we had in mind at all! The breakfast was delicious and the only reason for the 2 stars. Radisson, I don't think we will be coming back. I don't expect to have to have a heated discussion in front of other guests with a receptionist in order to get what I booked and what I've paid good money for. It was embarrassing. Such a shame…
