Lovely meal… Amazing staff… Would definitely recommend and will be going again… Thankyou.

Beer is good but the food is not the best. Over cooked pie and under done vegetables. Not on the hottest but over done not the best combination. Prices are on the high side for the quality. wouldn't recommend but ok if you have a dog, I don't.

What a fantastic place everyone so friendly food was great and lots of it rooms lovely big rooms comfortable beds all you need will defo go back at some point no complaints from me x.

We were visiting friends who recently moved to the village and were very impressed with the fabulous food and great service. It was good to see some unusual dishes on the menu rather than just the usual pub grub and and its well worth a visit!

Lovely ambient environment. Great service. Plenty of outside sheltered tables. Huge portion size, so tasty too. Massive menu with almost too much choIce. We will be back.

Friendly and courteous service, also prompt and efficient. Food was fabulous especially the gingerbread sticky toffee pudding. There ought to be a law against deserts tasting that good because now we have to sell our home in Kent and change our jobs just to be near you guys. Have you any idea how inconvinient that is. Xx.

First lunch out since lockdown and we were a little apprehensive, but we were made to feel very welcome and were put at ease. There was a good choice of food on the menu and drinks were served at your table too. The food we had was yummy very satisfying, we’ll definitely be visiting again.

Had an amazing impromptu meal here today. Superb! Wonderful food — truly. The menu has a delightful range of options with ingredients sourced locally across The New Forest. Service was excellent — no hesitation in leaving a gratuity. Coffee — delicious. I can't wait to go back and in the meantime I have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you to The Trusty Servant Inn for a very nice afternoon.

Had a fantastic two night stay in a lovely comfy room. Staff were amazingly helpful and friendly… Great we could take our little dog who thoroughly enjoyed herself… Food was great. Highly recommended.

Wow! what a lovely little gem… came for a wedding and the food was out of this world, I am veggie and normally an after thought but not here amazing veggie sausage and home made mash, the veg was so fresh. The cheese board and incredible chutney (made me wish they sold it to take home) … not forgetting the Eaton Mess so yummy.
The staff were friendly and attentive, love that dogs were welcome made the day very relaxed.

Picturesque Victorian pub. Food was excellent but a bit slow, probably as the usual chef was away. Fantastic chunky chips and tasty burgers. Dog friendly, plus you can sit and watch the New Forest ponies graze the village green.

Absolutely loved this place. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, plus they allow dogs (and provide treats for them if their owners allow). The interior is spacious and in keeping with the surrounding area. The food is first rate; definitely the best food we ate whilst staying in the New Forest area, and it was excellent value for money. We plan to go back and stay there as their rooms look fantastic.

Classic English pub in the village of Minstead. Garden is large and on a steep slope. We ate in the barn which is a basic space with garden benches for furniture. Food was really good, I had steak and ale pie which was very meaty. Meat was tender and juicy. Others had the roast, burgers, etc. All good.

Lovely pub in a village. Had a beer festival in the garden so maybe the wrong time to go. Long wait for food and drinks. My husband had to go and que in the garden for his beer as there was none in the bar. Food very average and will not be going back.

Great pub/restaurant in the forest away from traffic and crowds. Interesting menu great selection. Great beers and wines.

Lovely setting and super helpful staff. The servings are huge. Sharing plate for two would have comfortably suit three or four as a starter. Main courses are just too big.

Popped in for a quick lunch last week with the family and everyone was impressed with both the varied menu and the quality of food (especially the kids pizzas! ). Extremely helpful waitress too who sorted out a small issue in an extremely professional manner.

Recommended by the cycle hire, quaint little spot with sufficient staff, helpful and pleasant. Food was good slightly overpriced for what it was but would go back for another trip if in the area. (picture just round the corner from the pub)

What a great find! Tucked away in the quaint village of Minstead a short trip from Lyndhurst. Great garden, friendly staff, food menu looked good as did the accomodation. Great choice of ales, wines, gin… Well worth a visit.

Just want to express my gratitude. We were the unfortunate couple who were attacked by wasps while out on a walk with our 2 dogs. You helped us hose down the dogs, gave us some vinegar to help ease the stings and even managed to find us some antihistamine. We are all ok. Our black dog was in quite a state of distress at the pub, he is fine now. A massive thank you for all your help. Customer service at its best.

Best Gammon steak I have ever had. Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxed evening or day time feast.

Late Sunday lunch … we didn’t get there till about 3 ish and all roast choices were still available, we were all starving so We ordered the big daddy roasts and wow they were BIG too I have to admit defeat and they wrapped it all up for me to take away … couldn’t waste that roast — tasted & looked absolutely amazing … being late in the day we thought maybe it wouldn’t taste so good, but how wrong we were! When ever we have eaten here we have always really enjoyed our meals, never been disappointed yet good friendly staff and they look after you well, even though it does get extremely busy for them … Would definitely recommend.

We held our son's christening after party in the barn in the garden today and from organising it to the actual occasion it was a dream. The staff couldn't be more helpful in accommodating any wants or needs for the buffet, and making suggestions for drinks, if we wanted to decorate, etc. We were lucky enough to have the most beautiful sunny day, but the barn looked lovely and provided some much needed shade to our guests. The buffet was gorgeous, much better than your average sandwiches and sausage rolls, all made freshly by the chefs — delicious and a great selection. The staff made sure we were happy throughout the afternoon and we definitely were. I would recommended anyone to hold their function here and would certainly have them top of my list for any future events we hold. We had many compliments from our guests on the venue and food. Thank you for helping make our son's day so special.

The room had everything you could want but on a smaller scale. The bed was big enough but the quilt not big enough to cover the bed and two occupants. The en suite had a marvelous shower but the tap was a bit broken and the sink was miniscule. The food was very good. We ate dinner there and then breakfast which was a good English breakfast except the toast was a thick slice and very undercooked. I must say it was very noisy. Obviously it was a room in a pub and we were right over the dining room but the noise seemed to go on after the pub should have been closed but I think there was a birthday party.

The Trusty Servant is a meeting place for my family from Christchurch and my cousins family from Winchester. The quality of the food and service is first rate. We all ordered off the specials board yesterday lunch time and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you so much to the lady who works so hard serving and clearing tables (wish I had got her name) and for her patience with my dad with early dementia. We’ll be back soon.

Lovely rooms and warm atmosphere. Locally produced dinner menu was really nice. Coffee was the only thing that could have been better.

We ate here on Burns Night and we had a wonderful evening. I can't get the Aberdeen Angus steak pie out of my head; it was easily the best steak pie I've ever eaten. I'm really hoping that they add it to their normal menu as I won't be able to wait a year for another taste.

Not bad, but not awesome. We went as a party of six for a Sunday lunch. The staff were quite friendly and quite attentive. They had run out of the only vegan dish on the menu but offered to make the risotto vegan for me. My son had the roast pork belly which was soft at one end and a bit burnt at the tip — it wasn't inedible by any means but just not great. The prices were at the higher end for a pub but about average for the New Forest, about £14 for a roast. There was a very good selection of vegetarian options. We then had cheese cake which was definitely homemade (big tick in the box! ), however, they appear to have soaked the base in cheap brandy — whether this was the case or not there was quite a nasty bitter taste. They served it with ice-cream which offset that and allowed me to finish eating it. Portion sizes were very good. It's a nice atmosphere, but the two tables we tried were pretty squished in — not a massive problem. They also tried to charge us for an extra meal, this was a genuine mistake and they rectified it immediately — it was pretty busy. All in all, it was okay. Personally, I don't think I would visit again but wouldn't discourage others — it could be an altogether different experience when they're not so busy.

A blink and you'll miss it gem. An excellent & very dog friendly pub. The food was a tiny bit more expensive than the surrounding pubs but the food was fantastic! I highly recommend and will return whenever I visit the area.

Blimey the portions are massive! Picture does not do it justice. After the meal for 7 there was not a spec of food left. Amazing. And the desserts would just as good, I had the brownie… just insane! Lovely pub and have enjoyed going here everytime with family and friends.

Food slightly expensive but of good quality. If you like dogs is the place for you if not stay away! Very nice pub though with excellent and attentive staff! Good real ales as well!

Absolutely love this place. Never ever had a bad meal here, the portion sizes are massive, all home cooked and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Would strongly recommend you visit the Trusty Servant x.

We were recommended this pub as being close to Furzey Gardens. Excellent welcome and service especially as had two under three's with bus. Staff could not have been more helpful and understanding. Very imaginative menu and HUGE portions. Will definitely visit again.

Nice, dog friendly pub. Small car park but parking on nearby roads is easy enough. Not the cheapest of menus, but the food was very nice.

The food here is amazing and the atmosphere is totally in tune with the location. The staff are friendly and I couldn't ask for better after a good hike through the New Forest! Definitely a must visit on every trip this way!

Good Sunday Roast and very friendly staff. An all around great experience.

Tried the new menu on a busy Saturday lunch time. We were served quickly, everything seemed under control. There is a good choice of meals and lighter lunches, without being overwhelmed by too much choice. Served with drinks immediately, food took a little longer, but the place was full and they did well considering this. Quality of food very good for a pub.

Great food, friendly staff, nice atomosphere, weel worth a visit, great garden. Have eaten here again fantastic food cooked beautifully, the staff are really friendly and welcoming highly recommend going there, beautiful setting by village green.

Great little pub. Very busy on Sunday so booking is essential. They were a little rushed however the food was rustic and local. Full menu so there is something for everyone.

Staff rude on arrival, refused to serve a 23 year old alcohol with a meal as no ID on her person. Chicken ceasar sandwich contained mackerel which was not stated on the menu and did not go at all well in the sandwich. overpriced food and drink — I would highly recommend travelling to a different establishment if you're in the area.

The Chef has a funny name! Why would they call him heimy? Spanish Hannah is great. Laura the manager is lovely and mack has a dog call3d snuff. That is all.

Forgive me if I am mistaken, however I am under the impression that Pubs might be considered to form part of the Hospitality industry, Hospitality can generally be described as making people feel like they are a welcome Guest, This message has obviously not got through to certain members of the staff at the The Trusty Servant in Minstead. We arrived halfway through our long cycle ride ready for some sustenance. The Pub was busy with what looked like a mainly local set enjoying Friday lunch. I would guess that it is not unusual for a Pub with a nice looking menu and a lovely setting in a small New Forest village to be busy on a Friday lunchtime. There was however only one person serving behind the bar (and as far as I could see only one other serving food, clearing tables etc. ) and it was quickly apparent that the bar persons responsibilities also included taking payment for food orders. We stood waiting to order some drinks whilst he completely ignored us and carried on taking a credit card payment. Not a smile, not a nod to indicate he would be with us shortly, nothing, Maybe our cycling attire gave away the fact that we were not locals and maybe this category of customer does not warrant friendliness. Undeterred we looked for a table suitable for five. There was only one available, this was however covered with dirty crockery. This was soon cleared but the table was not wiped and our lunch was eventually eaten from a table sticky from beer spilt by previous customers.

Excellent food and service, unusual location.

We came to walk around the dog walk they suggested online but unfortunately do to the weather we decided against this, although from previous visits I would highly recommend this walk. We went at the 2pm sitting for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. All very large portions and delicious. I couldn't finish my roast and my friends 'big daddy' roast could have fed the 4 of us, was absolutely delicious. Really lovely staff, quick service and a proper country pub atmosphere. Really nice to find a good pub thats dog friendly and delicious.
