Very nice dog friendly pub with good food.

Lovely pub and nice and clean but a bit prices for meals,

Great well kept beer but underwhelming commercial food, even if they say it is home made. Steaks well cooked and the slow cooked jerk pork delicious but why oh why is a commercial gravy poured over it AND over the chips and some of the accompanying salad?!

Lovely calm and relaxing experience, great service with a varied menu.

Went in today 3/2/22 for lunch, welcoming staff and warm atmosphere, we both had the game pie which was stunning followed by apple and fruit crumble and chocolate brownie and pastachio ice cream. Brilliant value.

Lovely traditional pub with a decent guineas. Had cod and chips which was tasty. Massive garden and welcomes dogs. Would go back if in the area.

The pub is lovely and the bar staff. However the food is not up to scratch. We ordered 2 Balti’s that were delivered freezing cold and resembled dog food. They also contained mushroom’s as a bulk out product. Balti is tomato based and doesn’t have mushrooms. This was also not listed on the menu to contain said veg.
The waitress neglected to tell us there were starters or that there was a specials board. The food was overpriced and we left disappointed!

Lovely traditional new forest pub, blazing wood fire, lovely friendly staff
and delicious home cooked grub. Lynn the birthday girl had sea bass and I had liver and bacon. The desserts were equally awesome!

Really nice Sunday roast, thick slice of, melt in your mouth, beef almost covered the plate and good selection of veg hiding underneath with a Yorkshire pud sitting proudly on top. Beer was good too, cant fault any of it, the staff were pleasant and friendly.
Not sure about the Kiwi bloke though… just kidding. Thanks for a lovely lunch :-)

Was ok, had a cheeky burger and chips for lunch, wasn’t bad but could of been better for the £12 asking price, ordered a coffee which took far to long, other than that staff friendly and pub had a traditional coach house feel.

Lovely little country pub located just off the beaten track. Large garden area and play area for children. Varied menu and lovely home cooked food. I'd recommend the ploughmans. Very friendly and welcoming staff. This place is a gem. Definitely recommended.

Friendly staff, large garden that is kid friendly too. Food arrived promptly but nothing to get too excited about. I had the homemade burger which was very similar to a supermarket budget range (hence only 4 stars)

Stayed here for 4 nights. Loved it. Great local country pub. Good food, comfy room and great cider. Rooms with there own private court yard. Great value for the room and food. Breakfast was lovely and served at a good time.

Proper locals forest pub with simple food, delivered quick. Huge garden out back with bouncy castle and climbing frames to ensure the little ones are not bored. Good beer and friendly staff. Dog friendly so they don't need to cook in the car!

Went there on 31st June for pre booked family celebration with 7 adults and a 1 year old. Fantastic staff and very child friendly. Excellent food, beer and large garden for all. Quite location with plenty of parking. Our waitress was exceptional and made us really welcome. Book for large tables.

First visit we liked it. There is a large beer garden and food is also served outside. Good food and drink. Friendly service would recommend. Play area for kids and dog friendly.

Lovely old style pub, nice and quirky decor with roaring log fire to keep the chill off. Friendly landlord who is obviously proud of his business. One star docked because of being kept on the phone, no one answered it in two minutes! Plenty of seating and free parking. Not cheap, but it is in the New Forest.

Friendly owner, awesome cute Labrador pub dog, 2 wood fires, outdoor area. Best pub in the new forest.

Landlord is a comedian with great hi tech knowledge — he can switch the outside TV on & connect to the internet in less than 30 minutes.

Eaten here many times and food was always really nice. Didn't enjoy food this visit. It's fairly pricey which I don't mind if food is good. Won't be rushing back.

It was really busy when we got there and took us a little while to be seated. We had booked a table and asked if the rugby was playing (it was! ) but then we were pointed to a table in a different room from the TV. When this was mentioned they said we could sit at a different table in with the TV which was good but they couldn't put the rugby on until another table had left (why? ). We missed the beginning but it was turned on about 7 minutes in so it wasn't too bad. Food was good, but needed more staff on the floor for a busy Saturday.

Great place to stay in the New Forest with a dog. Jake our 9 month old Golden Retriever settled down straight away. The room we were in had it’s own little patio area with table and chair. Jed the Kiwi owner was great.
Breakfast was brilliant, orange juice, cereal, coffee/tea, toast, jams and honey plus plenty of choices for cooked breakfast which set me up for the whole day.

This is such a lovely pub, stone floors, open fires, good beer/wine and great food. We attended a recent Beaujolais event and it was great fun. The owner and manager made the evening such good fun and the staff are so friendly, the whole evening was a hoot from beginning to end. The food was lovely, I had a salmon dish that I thoroughly enjoyed. If you are thinking of a walk in the forest and want a pub meal I couldn't recommend this place high enough.

We wanted an unpretentious, dog-friendly country pub, with good food and a friend recommended this one. It was a delight from start to finish; the welcome, the atmosphere, food, drink, everything was spot on. I think we found our new favourite lunch venue. My sister hasn't stopped raving about the steak and kidney pudding and the dog is too stuffed with dog biscuits to move!

Good food with a lovely traditional pub atmosphere. Open fire for those cold wet days after a walk in the forest and happy to accept dogs.

Lovely meal and great value with good company. Dogs made very welcome. I recommend the lamb shank. We will return.

Great friendly pub. Excellent food, cooked perfectly even with the extra pressure of a beer festival on there too. And a bouncy castle, climbing frame/swings for the kids.

Love this place. It's a dog friendly and kid friendly and great beer. Jed the proprietor is welcoming to locals and new Forrest tourists alike. They allow RVs to park up and have a few rooms. The beer is good and local and the wines are ace. They cater for large parties as well as a great menu. The chili in a tortilla is my all time gave. Give it a try. You will be back.

Great pub. Very well run, food was really good and the atmosphere perfect for all comers, inside by the bar was very homey and the garden huge. We all had an excellent time. The village, East Boldre, is small but pretty and worth a walk from Hatchet Pond to the Turfcutters, we were lucky enough to be walking with donkeys, horses and cows some who were sheltering in the bus stop, looking like they were reading the timetable.

My chilly with rice was exactly what I was expecting. Spicy at the right level and a decent quantity. What was actually amazing at this place was the hospitality and kindness of the owner. My partner and I were on foot and had no other means to reach the train station. He offered us a 15min ride on his own car while he had no other reason to go to the station. Thank you so much, Kiwi man!

What an absolutely amazing place, very hospitable, from the moment we arrived and got greeted initially by Ged, the friendly kiwi bar manager, who made us feel very welcome, Simon the owner of the place, is a very friendly guy, who went out of his way to acomodate guests, their dietry requirements and, despite it being a very busy place, with an incredible amount of trade, given the beautiful scenic and slightly remote location, still found time to take a genuine interest in your day. Food was superb, the turfcutters breakfast is a must have. We liked it so much we have re~booked again for my wifes birthday in August Cheers guys.

Popped in for the beer festival on 22.8.15, had a great time but managed to leave my camel pack behind. The staff sent it to me back in kent and were reluctant to charge me for postage. Not often you get that. Well worth checking out.

Great pub. We went with a grout for a pre-Christmas lunch and it was wonderful. The staff was incredibly nice and the food was delicious. I'm already planning my next visit back!
