Fantastic few nights spent at this beautiful pub/hotel. Staff are soooo friendly and welcoming. Food was exceptional breakfast was fab and our room was spacious warm and extremely clean and very welcoming. Would highly recommend and I would imagine on a beautiful summers evening sat in the front courtyard drinking and watching the world go by.

The whole team were very friendly and professional. The food was top notch and the rooms were extremely comfortable. thankyou for a wonderful two nights stay xx.

Six of us ventured in for breakfast this morning, unfortunately this was very disappointing. The coffee was great but went down hill from there. The food looked nothing like the tempting pictures on the Web site. The full English breakfast was cremated and luke warm at best. The loaded bacon sandwich was very lacking. The fact this is the first time in 54yrs I've refused to eat a meal speaks volumes. Come on King's Arms, if you are going to charge those sort of prices at least deliver the goods!

Waitresses were so lovely food was awesome and it’s dog friendly which is a big WOW. Lovely just lovely place to go.

Stayed one night. Clean spacious room. Nice bar. Good dinner and excellent breakfast. Team were friendly and efficient, especially Jason who checked us in.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, but not trained well or confident about what they were doing. Wednesdays is 25% off day, but no one knew how to give us the discount, so we were offered ‘a drink’ next time we visit. No one could tell us about Christmas group bookings either. That said it was warm and comfortable, and had been very well renovated. The menu was quite good and the food tasty. We’ll give it another try as it’s only walking distance away.

Stayed here for a long weekend in February with family, lovely large room huge bed very comfortable, clean white bedding, nice and warm in room and public areas, house keeping excellent, the breakfast was the best I’ve tasted, also had fish and chips and roast dinner also very tasty, warm friendly staff good location.

Lovely place to stay. Very welcoming staff very friendly and polite. Rooms very nice and cosy and party gathering was catered for very well. Would recommend to anyone and will go back.

We have just returned after staying for two nights and both my mum and I were really impressed. Our room was beautifully clean, well decorated and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fabulous, both days. We had dinner both evenings and again the food was excellent. Really friendly staff. We will definitely be staying again.

Decent pub with good beers. The room was lovely nicely decorated and easy parking. Only complaint no food on Sunday nights. Breakfast starts at 0700 and was lovely too.

Decent hotel bar which is many peoples local. Barman that served me was very polite and friendly. Prices are higher than the average price in Melksham. Food menu is decent but its quite a big menu. They showed the football there. Interior decor was very comfortable and well maintained.

Bar staff are great food is prices sometimes a rude atmosphere.

Recommended. Have now stayed twice. Good value. Friendly staff. Outstanding cooked breakfast. First experience in an upstairs bedroom, was not ideal (a rather tired room which was also quite noisy). Second experience last week, in a ground floor room across the courtyard, was excellent. Clean, well-equipped, large comfortable bed. However, had to prompt the staff to replenish the toiletries and loo roll on the second day.

This is a really nice inn — the rooms are beautiful, the service is great and the breakfast is delicious. The bathrooms could use renovating, but they were clean and fine. Only bad thing is we were in a room facing the main street, and on Saturday night it was extremely loud with people passing by on their way out for a night on the town. There is a bank machine right across the street, so everyone walks by there, and are talking and yelling loudly — it sounds like they are right outside your window. Several other guests at breakfast also complained that they had trouble sleeping. Ask for a room on the back side of the building if you're staying on a weekend night.

Food lovely here. The staff are very friendly and today we brought one of our pooches and we love dog friendly pubs.

Very good' small plate' fish and chips and my friend enjoyed the ham egg and chips. Good value.

Went here for a friend's surprise 60th birthday party. The venue was lovely. Clean, spacious, well decorated, very tasty food, well stocked bar. The bar staff were friendly, although the drinks were pricy.

Always have a please experience when visiting the Kings Arms. Lovely pub with friendly staff who always make you feel welcome.

I found the kings Arms a very welcoming, well run hotel that I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Perfect for a few drinks or a longer overnight stay.

The property is well layed out downstairs with plenty of room to relax and with views of the neighbouring buildings (which are equally delightful) from the numerous Windows in the lounge area of the bar and the beer garden outside the front… It has the feel of somewhere cosy even though it is spacious and I found it very relaxing. The staff are a real pleasure to be served by and I can honestly say that every single one of them is friendly, happy and nothing is beyond their excellent capabilities. Very helpful and polite, instantly making You very welcome and glad to be stopping off here whether it is for a drink, to have a meal, to stay overnight or indeed even to ask for directions… A very inviting place with emphasis on comfort and good service. The quality of the food and beverages are of a very high standard and the prices were very reasonable too. The staff are top notch and the locals and other customers seemed very happy and friendly too which is alwasys a big bonus… The bedrooms are spacious with a superb bathroom and the cleanliness is a credit to the maids who regularly service the room… Overall, I really hope I get to revisit this area, as the nearby places of interest are numerous and excellent… If I do return, I will be checking out availability of rooms at The King's Arms Hotel before anywhere else… Highly Recommended.

Hotel room was fantastic — pretty much had a 2 bedrooms in our family room for my two young daughters and me. Breakfast was also very good. Would have given 5 stars but a drunk woke me up at 2am. Luckily the children slept through.

I am sat in said pub, booked a table for 6pm. No menus, girl came round with menus put them in holders on table, came to us, opened my hand for the menu, no she put them in the holder. 10 minutes passed another waitress came round took our order. Food duly came, we ordered the Friday promotion, fish chips mushy peas and tartare sauce! Where is tartare sauce I asked? We don't have any came reply, I will get you mayo! Peas cold and hard! We all finished food. Another waitress came, looked at my plate, do you want anything else? I asked for a beer and before I could look up she had gone, wife and kids were going to order dessert. I guess we will not be able to spend another 21 pound on desserts as all the waiting staff look the other way when they come towards our table! Wife kids and myself wandered to the toilets and all commented staff are all stood in the breakfast room! Shame, I was looking forward to this evening.

Went for a wadworth course in the stablehouse and ate in the hotel was very nice.

Held our engagement party in the function room, everything went as planned, staff were helpful and everyone enjoyed the buffet. Would definitely recommend the kings Arms.

Very nice atmosphere. Table arrangement for large groups isn't great, few chairs to share around in the main bar. The new light switch caused the lights to flash on and off. Still a great quick drink.

We had never been to Melksham before and was pleasantly surprised to have booked when the Christmas lights were being switched on. The pub is run by a very friendly couple who, despite being extremely busy made sure that we were well taken care of. Although a more timid couple may have found eating in a very packed pub intimidating, we loved it. The food was fantastic, the breakfast was awesome. The rooms clean, warm and comfortable, although at the time of our stay had a problem with the plumbing! Thank you for making our stay special and memorable.

After eating a few times at the kings arms I though it would only be fair to let people know how great it is. The food is fantastic. The specials change everyday and they are always very tasty. The management team are so welcoming always have a big smile. And great with our children. I would highly recommend the Kings arms if you are looking for that place that goes the extra mile.

My daughter and I stayed here when visiting the UK from Australia. Great hotel accommodation close to Bath, clean and comfortable rooms. Attentive service in the bar and for meals all at a reasonble price. Great English pub experience.

Nice small town pub/hotel. Lively atmosphere on 26/11/16 but still served quickly with good beer. Nice location in the old marketplace. Will visit again.

The food is amazing and the staff are very attentive. Free drinks were given to veterans on Remembrance Sunday which was fantastic. The whole place has a very warm local feel to it and so much history. Check it out for yourself.
