We had a lovely lunch in the front garden, great service and friendly, welcoming staff.

Went for a meal at the Lamb last night what can I say say meal was lovely. Staff friendly we we’re looked after very well. All I can say is if you not been to the lLamb you need to go!

Clean and cosy, food is amazing. Very friendly hosts and staff.

Lovely modern rooms. Super dog friendly too. Highly recommend. Awesome breakfast!

I had lunch at The Lamb yesterday and was so impressed by how friendly polite and helpful the staff here were. I have a walking and breathing disability and they were so kind and nice to me and made me and my little dog feel so welcome. The food was excellent and on my opinion they are doing more than their best to try and keep the hotel COVID safe. I will call again when I am in the area.

Lovely, genuine pub experience.

An amazing place, could not be more British. Open fire places, flagstones throughout, beautiful private dining areas, great bar, even has a shoot room for dogs to shower & gums to be stored. Rooms are also fantastic & are in keeping with pub, in terms of design. The food was great & service friendly and efficient. Could not ask for more.

Food superb, bedrooms superb, staff superb, thank you so much and we will be back.

Brilliant overnight stay, our food was superb and the room was amazing.
the staff are very friendly and the bar had a good vibe.
Location is great, we wanted a quiet village location with nearby walks.
Would 100% stay again and would happily recommend The Lamb.

I really love this place, but today found the prawn and crayfish sandwich extremely lacking and poor value for £10. The kitchen staff hadn’t even faced off the dry end off the loaf of bread. Shame!

Quaint but a bit old-fashioned, with wooden tables with no tablecloth. The staff are very friendly and welcoming but the food is not a great one. Let's say 3 stars, nothing special. The only very good thing was the dessert, a brownie by the glass interspersed with layers of ice cream. We won't be going back.

Breakfast taken here this morning, as we left Wiltshire to return home to Sussex. The Inn was beautifully clean and very comfortable. I ordered the full English and my father ordered the ham and poached eggs on muffins. A pot of coffee was brought to the table… super coffee too. We were then invited to visit the buffet area before our cooked breakfasts arrived. My breakfast was superb! Generous and beautifully cooked. Good quality ingredients too. My father said the same about his. The service was warm and attentive at all times… really excellent. We were surprised that the price was just £7.50 per head for what was a memorable breakfast. We fully recommend this lovely Inn. Thank you to the young man who looked after us so well too… and to the person who prepared such delicious food for us both.

I visited The Lamb a while ago. My friends and I went to watch the World Cup match between England and Tunisia at the pub (a spontaneous decision). The drive was pleasant but parking seemed a bit limited. There was a very nice beer garden outside though! Interior design choices were very good and retro. Plenty of seating was available and numerous rooms had TVs. Choices offered on their menu looked very nice, although limited. The star of the show was Beckie Harris. Due to personal reasons, I could not eat the majority of what was on the menus. Beckie suggested various adjustments that could be made to allow me to eat the food. She was very patient and helpful — a brilliant asset to the organisation. Hopefully, managent have recognised her talent and given her recognition. Food was well prepared. The meat was tender and not dry. Thank you chef (s)! It has been a month or two since our visit but I’ve only just managed to get round to writing this review (not something I imagined doing at 23:59 on a Sunday night! ). Thank you all at The Lamb!

It is an old building with original features and a modern take on comfort. The hotel room was excellent with air conditioning and high quality extras. The food for dinner and breakfast was equally excellent and fresh. The service was efficient and friendly. We had no complaints and would recommend.

Great room (4) which was quiet and air conditioning. Dinner OK but wine per bottle a bit on the pricey side. Reasonable cooked breakfast. Pleasant staff.

We have always enjoyed The Lamb, but on this occasion although the staff were lovely, the service was incredibly slow and the food was well over priced. I was not impressed with the pulled beef which was dry and vinegary and served with Lidl's cheap pickles! The salads were bags of mixed salad piled on a plate with little else added. Sadly won't be back for next birthday celebration : (

We stopped off here on our way down to North Devon. It is a dog friendly pub so you can take your dog in the bar area. We both had a lovely sandwich and chips. The staff were very polite and attentive. We would definitely call in there again if we are ever in the vicinity.

Nice a little overpriced. Quite good produce used. But definitely had better at a better cost. Nice pub in general though.

Good food. Extremely slow service. Surprise bacon. Veggies ask before opting for seemingly veggie options (creamed cabbage) to make sure there's no meat.

Stopped off between London and Devon for lunch. Great country pub in a beautiful village. Have the plowmans it's top.

Food was excellent, great choice of breakfast. We stayed 2 nights but room was not refreshed during our stay and we had to ask for more toilet paper. Unstable wardrobe as well.

Just called in on the off chance of having lunch there, helpful and friendly staff squeezed us in for what were three very nice meals, medium pricing made them affordable as well. Lovely old building of character, decent range of drinks. Recommend it, yes, absolutely.

Not a single plate of food that was edible. Having been once before and had THE best meal in an age I was most excited to return with my husband and indulge in sumptuous plates of brilliantly cooked food. Not tonight. Tonight having waited too long for a starter what arrived was not as advertised (missing elements) or even cooked (raw in places), the food now returned to the mostly absent wait staff we opted for giving it a second chance… The same starter back to us with some elements corrected and less raw in places, it was however not fresh it was the previous sharing plate modified. Onward to the main course and never have I been presented with such a grey rubbery and somehow over cooked steak (ordered rare, delivered well), with my husbands burger that was still moo'ing and void of the accompaniments as promised on the menu we decided two hours of food failings was enough and we were best off headed home for our supper. The poor service was mildly improved by a comp'd steak and discount on the bill however as a local I will not be returning to chance such expense on so sorry a plateful of food. If you do take a chance I hope you get my first Lamb experience and not the latter, if you find yourself void of service the wait staff can be found grouped together around the back polishing cutlery. This is my first review of any establishment, so compelled am I by disappointment.

A seminal British country pub. Everyone should have been here at least once.

Dismal! Lovely fire for one table only. Other tables in dingy drab back room. Place needs an upgrade! Although beer and wine prices seem already to have had one.

The room we stayed in was lovely. We enjoyed our stay and met interesting locals in the bar. The room was overly warm even though it was cold outside. We turned the heating off but we were still too hot. The second point was the food was well below expectations. We had burgers, small, the pickles were good the bun was good the "cheese" was appalling. The chips appeared to have been cooked several times before. These were maybe the worst chips I have ever had. Breakfast was similar, good in parts. The pastries were excellent. When the last of the apple juice was poured no one filled it up again. The eggs appeared to be deep fried, the bacon was hard and overcooked. I would have expected local Wiltshire sausage instead of the Cumberland sausage on the plate. I will go back I just hope they improve the ventilation and cooking.

Lovely food, friendly staff and nice traditional decor. Quintessential British pub.

We came upon The Lamb by chance as we were stranded in a he snow storms yesterday. It was the best place we could have found. Such lovely staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The rooms are lovely, very cosy and very comfortable. They have everything you need for a short stop over or a longer stay. The food is great and the bar is just a fantastic place to relax. I would highly recommend staying here. Avoid the big commercial hotels The Lamb is great value for money and a very peaceful place to stay. The locals who were in the bar were all very friendly and helpful as well. All in all a great find in a blizzard!

During the snowstorm on 1st March 2018, we got stuck on the a303, and were directed to the Lamb. They looked after us wonderfully, and although it felt like the apocalypse outside, it was a great stay. Bex in particular was fantastic, she did her utmost to make everything comfortable and easy. We are returning when the weather is better for another stay! Thank you!

Can't rate the food high enough. Good selection of ale too. And a very nice pub as well.

Lovely weekend stay. The room was really spacious and felt very luxurious and the food was delicious. My husband was ill on the weekend and the staff took great care of us while we were there. We liked it so much we have already booked on for another stay!

Awful. Despite the requirement of pre-ordering, they could not find our order when we arrived, despite us being in regular contact with them beforehand. To make matters worse, we were then told after we sat down that they had run out of turkey – from a festive menu that we'd had to pre-order from! Later still, I had to personally correct the final bill twice before it was right. No-one bothered to come in and check how our meal was – and no-one apologised for the mistakes and oversights. I had family coming from the UK and Europe for this lunch, and the whole experience ruined our special day.

This is a lovely old inn. The room I have is very comfortable, the food is delicious, and the staff have been great.

What a find by accident. We needed a meal as we had travelled all day. It was 8pm and there was 5 of us. No problem. Led to large table and service was fantastic. Fresh food. Everything we ordered was available. Fantastic evening.

Good pub with overnight accommodation. Has benefited from a change of ownership, redecoration and new menu. Dining here was an enjoyable experience at reasonable cost.

Great location in Hindon, very fair price for high quality rooms and food. Or stay was also accompanied with very kind staff.

The room was lovely. Charming in every way and decorated to a high standard. What made the difference were the small touches; sky TV in the room, air conditioning unit above the door and lot of little extras, which though unneeded by us personally, really made the difference. The food was fantastic and the staff were faultless. We would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. This is a truly wonderful hotel, and a shining example for everything being done just right.

Having seen other reviews can only assume we must have had an off day. Lack lustre welcome, no info re rooms or when breakfast was served etc. Lovely evening meal, good beer, but very cold and draughty pub, only one fire lit, and no chance of sitting near it. Sadly lacking in staff, evening only I can assume a manager and a bar person/table waitress, morning only manager. Ambiance would perhaps have been better if the manager could manage more thank a grunt and a smile would help. Breakfast atrocious, bacon so hard may as well have been pork scratchings, eggs benedict served cold with bottled holandaise sauce, at the advertised price for breakfast at £10 would have at leas expected it to be made fresh. Asked for toast, as wasn't offered or served with full English, didn't arrive, apology that it was forgotten. Had booked again for a few weeks time, but after this experience have cancelled. Manager didn't even ask if everything ok when checked out. Obviously couldn't give a **it. Youngers you need to check up on your staff. Oh and no mobile phone signal, not the fault of the Lamb but be aware.

Authentic, lovely and warm atmosphere. Very enjoyable experience.

The food here is some of the best in the area, a cut above the typical pub food, particularly the fish dishes. I regularly pop in just for a meal when coming back from long trips for work.

Very accommodating. Great place to take the kids for an early dinner. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic local pub which shines after its recent refurb. Amazing rooms, a couple of which are dog friendly and all of which are beautifully decorated with super comfy beds. Lovely bar (dogs welcome) & separate restaurant area with brilliant menu. Amazing team running it and The Lamb also has a lovely garden across the road with pub games for all the family, ideal for summer.

I sent some of my clients to dine at the Lamb at Hinton and they told me that it was the worst dinner that have ever tried to eat. So bad that they demanded and got a refund. How embarrassing. What has happened to one of the good pubs in the area?

WE had a family lunch today 23rd aug. 14 had lunch the meat and veg was good but could have been a bit hotter and quiet a long wait for are food to come but 1st class service from the staff.
