The Merrie Lion Hotel

This is our 2nd visit to The Merrie lion and it just got better. The staff are amazing and so is the food. Daphne is such a lovely lady and we fealt at home. We stayed in one of their dog friendly rooms and loved it! Bed was incredibly comfy… great shower … perfect patio area for our Yorkie Duffy … already booked to come back 👍 well done to you all … you are a little gem xxx.

A lovely lively local that also welcomes visitors incl. Boaters. A good menu, the food was delicious home made food using quality ingredients. Highly recommend and we would return!

We met up with friends and had a lovely lunch, one or two slightly different choices on the menu which were very tasty! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We went just after the Easter weekend so they were quite quiet but my guess is they probably get busy at weekends! We will definitely be going back!

Great Xmas meal, all the food was cooked beautifully, very tasty, really friendly and efficient bar and waiting staff. A lovely evening. Thx.

Went for drinks and a meal last night. We arrived around 8.30pm and wasn't planning to eat. But the chef sill made our food, even though the kitchen was due to close in 4 minutes. The food was amazing. Very well priced. The bar staff were all polite and pleasant, the female bar lady even remembered my drink after only serving me once before. we will be back for another visit!

Had a takeaway on Friday night. It was nice to have more than one choice for a vegetarian. Food was really delicious and service was good and COVID safe. Highly recommend. Thank you very much. Will definitely be returning.

We chose The Merrie Lion completely by chance as it is half way between the Father in Law and us. What a lovely find, the staff were great, the food delicious and it was dog friendly. Super super place, would love to return again for lunch. Thank you x.
