We were celebrating our Golden wedding Anniversary and it was such a special evening for us. We had a lovely table and a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival, the food was excellent and the staff were lovely, they made us feel extremely welcome and special. Stayed for two nights at The Porch House and had breakfast, dinner and drinks there. Was absolutely wonderful. Kostas, Sarah and team and fantastic hosts — they make you feel extremely welcome and create a warm and friendly environment. The interior design, furnishings and extensive but sympathetic restoration of the whole building are just stunning. The food at both breakfast and dinner was superb. We only live 20 minutes down the road but will not be hesitating to make this a regular stay and will definitely be returning for the new menu launch in a couple of weeks.

We were a party of five on Sunday and we were blown away by the quality of the food. The service was also excellent. Really highly recommended. Thank you.

Fantastic stay at the Porch House, our room was immaculate and beautifully presented. Our dinners, desserts and breakfasts were absolutely stunning, faultless. The staff were very attentive and ensured that everything was ok at all times. It was my parents 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary during the stay and when our desserts come out, they also brought out a decorated plate, wishing them a Happy Anniversary, with strawberries and chocolate bites on, which was wonderful! Beautiful place and setting, only one very small negative, there is no parking, but that hasn’t stopped us looking to book to go back! An absolute gem.

Lovely lunch today, very attentive staff and delicious food I recommend the Prawn and Crab linguine.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch for my dads 70th birthday whilst we were staying in the area, the best one we’ve ever had. We were a table of 8 with two children and dietary requirements and all of our needs were catered for. The service was fab and the puddings were also so delicious, will definitely be back thank you.

We visited on Saturday 30 April for an evening meal. Everything was lovely, friendly, helpful staff — fab waitress Rachel and the food was delicious. Only wished we lived nearer as it would certainly be a place we would frequent. We will back when next in the area.

Historic, Old World pub with heavy beams and low ceilings. Great atmosphere; friendly staff; a great place to enjoy a pint, inside or out.

Food, service, wine — all excellent. Visited for lunch and Prosecco, thankfully we were early as it did get busy (it was a Saturday). I would highly recommend as everything was perfect! Exciting menu and very accommodating for a GF diet. Staff were lovely!

Fantastic evening to celebrate my Brother’s 50th Birthday. Full of olde worlde charm and character. Food was excellent, wine was delicious. What made the night altogether was the exquisite service, delivered by Ash. Consummate professional, a credit to The Porch House.

Lovely overnight stay at this beautiful Inn! Food was superb and the ambiance and decor was very fitting. Located in the heart of the Cotswolds and very central to all the surrounding villages and must see places… will definitely be back to visit soon 😊👍🏻

Really interesting building, just wish we had had more time to explore. The service we received on a busy lunchtime was good and the food freshly prepared.

Lovely historic pub but we wanted some nibbles beyond crisps. Some patatas Braves or something… nice range of drinks btw!

What a place this is, the staff are amazing, the service was top class and the food was delicious! The staff even treated us too an early wedding present with prosecco and a dessert on them… After hearing we had to postpone our wedding in 2021! Would highly recommend, thanks for a perfect weekend.

We only wanted something light and ask the waitress what she would recommend, she replied you can’t go wrong with steak and cheese, never heard of it! We ordered it, amazing and something we can and will try at home, fantastic service good food and reasonable prices, oldest pub in the country as well, and lovely little shops to explore, would definitely recommend, thank you.

This stunning old pub is full of gorgeous relics/antiques and provides a wonderful atmosphere in which to enjoy the best of Cottswold cuisine and especially the produce of Cottswold distilleries.

We had a wonderful lunch there today. Delicious food and great service!

They claim to be the oldest inn in England.

Really old pub and hotel on multiple levels. Fabulously quirky building. Really good choice of beers. Staff not the greatest and customer service could be better. Observed staff unable to advise people staying of where long term parking was available which isn't adequate. Also unclear when rooms would be ready.

The location was great and the space was beautiful. The room we were given was exceedingly small, however, and the doorway between the bedroom and bathroom is deadly with its shockingly low headroom. I smacked my head quite hard on it. Altogether I think the cost was too high for our particular room (#4) but the overall experience was fine.

This hotel is amazing, I really enjoyed staying there, staff were great couldn't do enough. Food was great, that's breakfast and dinner. We had one of the cheapest room, but it was beautiful, clean, slept well no noise from outside. The only thing that people might say, is the room is a bit small but it was fine for me.

Booked for 9 people Bank Holiday Saturday evening — two from Australia and one from Ireland. Most embarrassed at the standard of the meal. Cheese souffle looked more like a scotch pancake and my mozzarella and tomato consisted of three mini balls of mozzarella floating in the water with three slices of tomato, one atop each ball. It did have basil but possibly one leaf shredded. Risotto was so solid needed knife and fork and here they did remove the charge from the bill.

I have eaten here and enjoyed the food very much, but I know it mostly as a place to have a pint when visiting Stow. The historic Porch House has a friendly local-pub feel, but with the style of the boutique hotel it really is. So you will find comfortable surroundings, exemplary service and a well-looked after pint.

Well the staff are wonderful and friendly, the pub is gorgeous and the food is fabulous! The sticky toffee pudding was to die for… it was so delicious I would have married it.

We had dinner there on a Saturday night, table of 3. We had booked via the website, with confirmation coming back pretty much immediately. It's a impressive place, very busy esp. With a wedding reception on that night. Yet the staff remained incredibly friendly all the way. As we were waiting for the meal — not a long wait — she decided we had been waiting longer that she expected and she brought a plate of delicious olives on the house. The meal was delicious, vegetarian and GF diets well looked after. The puddings were top quality. The pub itself is charming, lots of history, and superbly maintained. The evening was worth every penny.

We had a delightful stay here. The team (particularly Chris and Maggie N) were all extremely friendly and professional; great ambience, great meal and an award winning bar. Definitely 5 stars!

10 out of 10 for the room, the bar, the restaurant and the staff. Lauren looked after us really well. Our waitress at dinner was really nice too. All very welcoming but professional. I stayed there for one night with my brother as part of his visit to the UK from the USA. Just before setting off for our stay, we had to deal with a significant water leak leading to the trip nearly being called off. Eventually we arrived, a little later than planned. We called Lauren and she moved our dinner reservation. When we got there, we received such a lovely welcome it really did feel like we could relax and enjoy our stay. There was an open fire going in the restaurant which added to the cosy atmosphere. I have stayed here about 5 times before and it has never disappointed. This visit was particularly good. 4 stars, could easily be 5. Lacking in the little details that makes somewhere REALLY good. We had a beautiful room, room 9, but just let down by little things the hotel could easily fix. It might be pedantic but when your paying over £150 for room only for one night I don't believe it's unfair. Cons No clear indication of where to check in (there's two entrances) got sorted at bar. Room had stains on the carpet that I'm sure could be cleaned better. Lovely slipper bath in room but no dressing gowns, and two large candle lanterns next to it to make it romantic, but candle hadn't been replaced in one and no matches for the small bit left in the other. No lights in corner of room where the dressing table is, made it very hard for the gf doing her make up. One of the windows doesn't shut properly so added noise from street outside. Toilet seat needs refitting Lock on toilet door doesn't work. Pros Extremely comfortable bed and pillows Great location. Lovely decor Friendly staff. All in all, I wouldn't put anyone off staying there, I just wouldn't with all the other beautiful places in the area that would be 5 stars.

We booked weeks in advance for a special family birthday. Seemingly the team including the manager had no idea. They decided to try to seat us on a bench table by the door near the bar that was too small for our party. Seemingly had no idea that this wasn't good enough. Apologised but there was apparently no alternative, even though there were lots of tables elsewhere in the restaurant. Just wasn't good enough. Appauling service and cannot recommend!

Great restaurant. Standard pub menu but pork belly was great. Atmosphere for a little quiet for a Friday evening but I actually prefer that.

RECOMMENDATION: Must Visit COME HERE FOR: A romantic getaway, the rooms, pub, restaurant, and friendly service and guests. Came here for one night and absolutely fell in love with it. The entire inn is very charming, something straight out of a postcard. The staff and guests there are very friendly, we hung out at the pub, had dinner at the restaurant, and back up to the room to enjoy our tub.

Place itself was delightful… very oldly worldly & quirky… but coffee was cold & service very slow… great shame as we were thinking of eating there one evening.

Beautiful location. We had Sunday roasts which were very tasty. There was a generous amount of meat. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

We stayed at The Porch House during the Cycling event in September. We enjoyed our stay at The Porch House with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant was fully booked so we found a table in the bar area and enjoyed a good meal. Next time we'll book a table in the restaurant in advance. Good food, wine and friendly helpful staff. The Porch House does have a few dog friendly rooms at the back of the hotel which is very useful in case you have to take your pooch along too! Again book in advance as these rooms are limited.

Nice place to eat with good atmosphere and really pleasant staff. However crispy batter to the fish would have been nice. The batter was a little spongy.
The wife however liked her meal.

Cold food after over an hours wait, after asking why it was cold the chef sent it back cold not wanting us to have a hot meal, he needs to have a lesson on the customer satisfaction, as for the manager making out he offered us a complimentary meal when we were leaving after not eating a cold chicken dish, lies lies lies you did NOT offer us a meal & if you had of done would never return because of the bad service, your team should all go & eat round the rest of Stow & see what good customer service is like & great food that is served at the right temperature, especially at the old stocks where they can't do enough for you, and Alex please don't reply with a lie again just to make yourself look better, your in the wrong job with your insincere attitude.

Can only comment on the food that was really nice. Everybody was friendly enough and attentive. Its clear to me though the owner has been speaking to some marketing person. A bottle of water is placed on your table. It costs 50p if you use it but it goes to charity. Then your asked if you'd like bread rolls, again additional cost. When reading the menu you realise that a service charge/tip is automatically added. The free drink on news letter sign up is delayed to make you come back on a second occasion. It's just all very obvious and felt a little intrusive to the overall experience.

The hotel is lovely, full of history and character. The staff are friendly and helpful and the wine is good. However, the room was small (but comfortable) but the shower was covered in black mould and the glass shelf over the ridiculously small sink prevented you from brushing your teeth or shaving properly. We were really looking forward to our stay here, but the food was poor — chicken dish was like leather (although they did take it off the bill) and the breakfast was awful — over cooked eggs and bacon which was so crispy it shattered when you tried to cut it. Think they need to change their cook as the food was a real let down. Therefore of the opinion that it's a great place for a drink, but wouldn't stay here or eat here again.

Ate in the dining room, book in advance. Service was average — the server was unable to discuss the ingredients used. Lovely room, food was good, clearly a destination spot.

Good food and good service. However we had to wait quite a while to pay as they would only accept card payments at the bar. It might be a temporary problem and if so, my rating would go up by a star.

The wife and I called for a beverage on passing, we both enjoyed the experience, found the staff very welcoming and polite and also enjoyed looking round the old rooms. Would definitely recommend a visit!

My husband and I were staying the night in Stow-on-the-Wold and decided to pop into The Porch House for a drink. The staff were very polite and helpful and we enjoyed a lovely hour sat in a window seat. As we were leaving I popped into the dining room to check out the fireplaces (I'd read about the history of the Inn) I was not disappointed! I really wish we were staying 2 nights so that we had been able to dine there also! It was a beautiful room! Thanks Porch House :)

Arrived on Thursday afternoon and stayed until Sunday morning. Staff friendly and accomodating — room very comfortable on ground floor at rear of hotel. Ate in every night as food was excellent and did not see the need of going out to eat elsewhere. Would recommend this quaint old hotel to stay if visiting the Cotswolds. Hope to return again in future.

Two days ago I had the minute steak sandwich here and was shocked to find a 5" long hair in it. Upon showing the staff member who served me, taking care not to let others become aware, she just looked at it and said "oh", no apology, no offer of refund. NOTHING! All I wanted was acknowledgement of the fact. Will not be returning and will let all friends and family know.

We booked a reservation here months in advance. The day before we were to check in, they decided to close "for renovations", leaving us stranded. You have been warned.
