Delicious afternoon tea the food was outstanding as were the staff. They were very attentive and polite. Cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend Hurley House Hotel.

Good menu and fantastic food, especially recommend the Japanese cod — deliciously memorable.

Only had lunch there today, from the set menu. Excellent! Delicious sardines starter, followed by black bream with the skin crisped to a treat. Recommend unreservedly.
They have 4 Tesla destination chargers too!

Sat outside in the lovely garden having a nice drink. I have not stayed or eaten here, however, the experience was great, staff were friendly and made us welcome. I was expecting to be turned away as I had dogs but they were welcomed into the bar! Brilliant. Will definitely return.

Gorgeous surroundings, especially on the terrace on a sunny day. Excellent service. The sour dough pizzas are very good.

Just under a year ago we dined here and was very impressed — excellent food and great service — warm and friendly staff including the manager who sat with us to tell us his vision for hurley house. 12 months later, booked a Saturday celebratory lunch (anniversary an birthday of our baby girl) and sad to say service had gone down hill significantly — 2 people on front of house, yet still failed to acknowledge the celebratory occasion, failed to follow through with our drinks order (we had to wait 30 minutes after flagging down a waiter), when food arrived it was just dumped on our table (no time to move our baby's toys and arrange the table), 3 different waiters randomly covering our table and front of house not once checking to our table. Having relayed a wonderful experience first time around to many I am sad to write that they have lost their differentiating touch — I thought they were going to give The Pig brand a run for there money, but it is clear that their competitions experience demonstrates how important consistency is. Work to do Hurley house, your front of house need a talking too.

I stayed here for one night, and only ate breakfast there. It was pretty good, almost everything was excellent. The whole place was in good condition, and looked well cared for, though has clearly only recently had a vast amount of money spent on it. The room was a reasonable size, fairly quiet (triple glazed because it faced the main road), had both air cooling and underfloor heating, a large and comfortable bed, a decent selection of hot and cold drinks. But the tea & coffee machine was no good for me because they'd forgotten to put any milk in the mini bar fridge. Shame. There was plenty of soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, etc. The towels were not huge but were very thick and did the job. Not so easy to dry your ears with a very thick towel though. The breakfast was good, I had their own blend muesli, some yogurt, and the full cooked breakfast. It was all good. The orange juice was nice and fresh, and the tea tasted good too. The staff were generally friendly and happy to help, but there occasionally weren't enough of them doing the right things at the right times, and a few seemed a little aloof — as though perhaps I was there because of them and not the other way around. But, I would stay here again, the few negatives above were fairly minor and didn't really detract from my enjoyment.

We stayed there for one night last week and I can honestly say it’s one of the best places we have ever stayed. I called prior to arrival to say to them that I was looking to propose to my girlfriend in the room before we went out and they went the extra mile. Flowers, swans and rose petals on the bed and a free upgrade to the best room in the house. The staff were amazingly attentive and we had breakfast the next morning which was outstanding. It’s the best hotel we have ever stayed in the UK. Thanks again guys for everything.

We went for a late lunch on a gorgeous sunny day and sat outside where we could enjoy the excellent refurbishments that have taken place here. Seating and space was comfortable and very tastefully decorated. There is an excellent sound-system that was playing a good selection of background music that was noticeable but not intrusive. Service could have been a bit more attentive but was friendly and helpful when we had questions over the extensive non-alcoholic drink selection which was very good. The menu was varied and looked very appetising. The go did not disappoint and was excellent, well presented, good portion size. Desserts were spectacular! Plenty of parking and an entire row of Tesla charging points! This could become our regular treat!

Very average. Quite pretentious but could be so much more with a better chef and a better organised service. Our table was served by 5 different waiters! Menu tries to be trendy but it is a mixture of very odd choices. Our scotch egg starter was soaked in deep fried oil — clearly a luck of skill set. Salmon starter an another failure. I enjoyed my quail but some elements of garnish were questionable, especially a chewy large piece of a mushroom. Great mains — especially beef, but served cold, actually twice sent back. Desserts were looking great but lacking flavour — overwhelmingly sweet. Bread and home-made butter were the highlight. Needs better management.

Welcoming staff and beautiful setting. The food has been superb on all our visits at the the hurley house hotel, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Looking forward to our next visit!

Phenomenal service from start to finish. Perfect choiceon a small menu meant we could choose a variety of dishes. All were perfectly presented had loads of flavour and all staff we came into contact with were professional, courteous and knew the menu inside out. A great restaurant experience and will. Most definitely visit again.

Love this hotel 2nd time of being there rooms are really nice and the bar and restaurant are great too. Only 4 stars this time as the room was near the road and it was quite noisy… perhaps that a bit harsh but next time I'll make sure we get a different room.

Hurley House is a fantastic pub/restaurant. The staff are brilliant, extremely friendly, informing you about all the different gins and spirits they have. Very knowledgeable. We went for lunch last week, we were so impressed, had the best steak and kidney pudding ever. We booked the small private dining room for my birthday. Food excellent, Sunday lunch was the best we have had for a very long time. Cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. We will be back, probably next week it was that good. So worth a visit.

Beautiful restaurant. Very attentive staff. Barman knows his Rum that's for sure Food lovely but I left hungry. Portions a little small for me.

I came here for my birthday lunch today and I cannot fault the experience. The service was wonderful, so helpful while not being over bearing. They provided me with gluten and dairy free options which was amazing and everything was delicious. My mum had the set menu which was also gorgeous and very good value. Next time I’ll try that! Plus everything was immaculately clean and well presented. Thanks so much for your help and we will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved it!
The staff were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble, the food was stunning, the building was immaculate. I really couldn’t rate this highly enough. This truly was superb! If I were trying to be picky and say it was good but… I can’t, I really can’t. All of it really was 100% I can honestly say I’ve never truly been able to say that of anywhere I’ve ever eaten. This wasn’t a Christmas lunch, this was a Christmas experience! 10/10

I'm going to say this place could be spectacular but some of the minor details need addressing. First the good. The staff are excellent and extremely attentive and professional. The food is of high quality. Well worth the visit. Here is the but: I took my wife here for a birthday brunch. I found it extremely off putting being outnumbered by hotel staff using the restaurant area for hot desking, sending emails, discussing deliveries, basically an office right next to our special brunch. I expect that in Costa coffee but not here.

Hurley House stands out from the crowd in that it feels homely yet exudes the opulence one would expect from a five star. The staff really care about the customers which shines through. The food is fabulous. Staying here is a treat!

I had a chance to take part in the Xmas dinner organised by the hotel. The food was delicious, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the entertainment was interesting. I will defenitely recommend it to my friends.

Just wow. From a warmly greeted welcome, to super friendly staff in this stylish modernised venue. Lovely uncomplicated lunch menu, the food was appropriately portioned with flavours, presentation and waiting staff on point. Will be bringing my family here following today's business lunch and cannot wait to visit in summer to use the garden dining area. First class.

Driven past frequently and intrigued to visit as always seems busy. I enjoy my food and love good quality places with atmosphere. Sadly this venue is all pretension and very little substance. Nothing specific to complain about but then again £4.50 for a small cup of fries to compliment the smallest burger I have ever seen will indicate the format. Our wait person seemed to have some interesting ideas about pooring soft drinks like an expensive wine and the a distinct attitude caused I can only assume by the greeter placing us in the restaurant for "only bar food" we were not shown any other menu and had to request a drinks menu. I am sure this is not the norm but worth a review note for any who plan to try like we did.

Been here to eat on a night out! tasty food, looks like the kitchen staff puts great effort in developing menus. Keeping quality up from starter to dessert.

Visited this hotel/restaurant today wanted to experience outside dining. On arrival good decor and really helpful staff. Starter was wonderful but very disappointed with mains. To start with the burger was a very small party size burger that was served on a side plate and would only fill a 5 year up. But 12.00 adult prices no sides served with meal small portion of chips that were lovely 4.50. Add those two up. Then there was the chicken as small as breast of chicken and served with a small celeriac leaf and the chicken was stringy and tasteless xx all for 15.00 very overpriced x so disappointed. Wont be recommending or visiting again. Shamefull.

Amazing place to go and eat or a quick drink whatever you prefer. Really clean and my girls loved the bathroom which was so clean you could eat your dinner there! From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted by genuine happy and very helpful staff. The young lady who greeted us and walked us to our table asked how we were and how our day was going. The waitress from Brazil was sweet and helpful. The young man behind the bar was helpful especially when my ultra fussy young daughter asked for her drink to be served a certain way. Nothing was too much for him. And the gentleman who I thought was the owner but instead was management was totally adorable and helpful. I thought the restaurant was too high end for my girls but they simplified the menu for them without any fuss. Will definitely come back when next in the area.

Super service from the outset, a fantastic selection of wines to choose from and superb food. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and perfect for a treating yourself to a great meal. The bar area also looked well kept, however we didn't stop there, just went straight into the restaurant.

We have been a few times since the refurbishment and highly recommend for both lunch and dinner. Sunday roasts are amazing but make sure you book!

If you want an amazing experience and you are a foodie like me, well… a Michelin star chef is waiting to delight you at the Hurley House. What a great place to escape from the urban jungle and get some you time in a luxurious place with a fine dining restaurant and a great pub with great people.

Perfect in every way! what a beautiful hotel and restaurant, they have recently completely re-furbished and I rebuilt, the manager gave me a guided tour and all of the rooms are simply lovely. I stayed for a night and had the best nights sleep, so comfortable and peaceful. Every detail is considered and well presented, the staff are very clearly very experienced and looked after me very well, a blend of relaxed and suitably formal. If you want to have a lovely break away, take them here, enjoy the break and wonderful food. The gardens and patio areas with catering area looks lovely for a sunny day and perfect for events too I can imagine.

The Hurley House Hotel oozes charm and quality. The staff were wonderful, so friendly and we were greeted by Ellie who welcomed us so warmly, it was like meeting with an old friend. Every member of the team showed a fantastic attitude and they clearly loved the environment too. Everywhere you went the venue was spotless and there are so many good things to say about the location, the building, the rooms, the bar, the restaurant and the food. So I’ll start with the outside; which was set in a lovely space with large seating areas and heaters. The Bar, dark and sensuous and the Restaurant was full of interest in its brown and wood décor with French style windows and giant dresser. It was certainly a super place for couples as well as smaller groups. The cleverly designed bedroom was decorated in exactly the same way as it would be in my fantasy house. The monogrammed bedding and towels were the best quality I've ever received in a hotel. There was a very generously sized bath with fabulous & powerful shower. And the best idea I've ever seen … there was a separate toilet room and in this classy area was a Floris room spray which smelt divine. All the soaps, hand wash and lotions were the finest quality. The minibar was bountiful with the crisps and nuts … oh honey sea salt nuts, I love thee. The comfy king size bed had plenty of room for Mr and Mrs Portly with space to spare. The food presentation was simply stunning and was totally delicious, deserving many Rosettes.

I'm not really one for pontificating about food, but suffice to say that our dinner at the Hurley House Hotel was absolutely superb. I went with wild Berkshire rabbit terrine, followed by the roast pheasant and apple crumble for desert. The menu is updated daily, unlike the one on the website (27th October), but don't let that distract you — there will definitely be something delicious on it for you at any time if our visit is anything to go by. Food-led rather then for drinkers, there is still a very nice holding / reception area with a real fire that I'm sure you could have a pint or a refreshing Gin & Tonic just to pass the time. Good Old Boy was very well kept and the wine list is comprehensive. Very lucky to live so close to such good local restaurants / pubs / venues, we will definitely be back.
