This pub is a gem! A lovely ambience, great staff, relaxing pub garden, and the food is exceptional. This pub will become a regular for us.

Amazing stay and dinner last night. Staff were super attentive from start to finish and really went the extra mile. Special thanks to the new supervisor Mia — she was great, as well as her colleague Poppy. They were clearly very busy during dinner service but still took the time to chat with us. Millie who checked us in was also really helpful, offered to book us a taxi and let us know when it arrived. Couldn't have asked for more at any point.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The cottages were so cosy and the restaurant had amazing food and a wide variety of vegetarian and hearty meals. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful it’s so nice they see the healthy staffed establishment never had to wait more than 2 minutes to be seen to. 100% would recommend to anyone who is looking for a couple nights stay. You will not be disappointed.

I stay at the pub once every few weeks on business. I have never had a bad meal and the service is always exceptional. The rooms are all fabulous too. Would recommend to anyone on business or pleasure. It’s a little gem.

Booked for two nights and added a third because I liked it so much. Very nice Pub/B&B in a very nice village in a very nice area with very nice walks and very nice cycling. All in all, very very nice! Oh by the way, the evening food and the breakfast are superb as is that beautiful dog,

A lovely village pub/restaurant set in idealic landscape with beautiful views. Friendly, helpful staff who deliver excellent customer service with a smile and go that extra mile to make the customer's experience perfect. We took my elderly mother there for a weekend. Her room was perfectly set up for someone with limited mobility and the staff couldn't do enough for her and us. We stayed in the cottage across the road which was cosy, extremely comfortable and well furnished with home from home comforts. Loved it and can highly recommend.

The Stag and Huntsman sits towards the edge of the very picturesque Hambleden village. The pub had ample parking and backs onto the sports fields. Inside it has a traditional homely feel. The garden behind has plenty of tables, so finding a seat is rarely a problem. The range of beers is what you would expect, including local brews from Marlow and Henley. Dogs are welcome both inside and out, with water bowls provided.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wonderful view, lovely vintage style double room with a small launge area that truly gave the room a luxurious feel! Nice view, great location, lovely staff! The breakfast was delicious with plenty of veggie options! I highly recommend this place to stay to anyone who is visiting Hambleden! We will definitely be back!

Overcrowded, understaffed. Inexperienced servers climbing over furniture. I kid you not. Long wait for everything. Full of screaming kids. Such a different experience than when we first went for dinner a few months back. At least the food was half decent when it finally arrived.

Great village pub, perfect for so many types of occasion. For us, midday, midweek in mid summer (during the heatwave), the garden was ideal, and the Ploughman’s was good (too small a portion of bread tho), with a few lovely tasty pints of Rebellion IPA local Marlow bitter.
Will look out for them in ‘4 in a bed’ on TV this winter.

I stayed a night. The room was beautiful. Much better and bigger than I expected. The food was excellent. Very friendly staff. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area. A hidden gem.

Great historic pub with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. There is a good area to seat outside and cosy indoors seating options. We had some very tasty things from the menu (duck liver pate, baked camembert, asparagus, mussels and prawns tagliatelle to name a few). They also offer South African BBQ and people who ordered items from there were very happy. For vegans there is a Thai curry (apparently very tasty), few vegetarian options which a staff is happy to make vegan if possible. Overall we felt really welcome and didn't leave hungry.

Food was very nice. We ordered some open sandwiches, which were a bit small but delicious. The garden is beautiful and they sometimes host some barbecues. The chocolate and mint coins were a plus!

DISGUSTED! Rude ignorant barman (18/6/2018). We are NEVER going near this place again. We have been before but today was so awful. Barman this morning really needs to learn manners. Ignorant is the word. Who the hell does he think he is? We don't eat here because overpriced and not enough. But even having a drink after today is a definite no no. Nice place shame about the staff. One star for place itself.

Waited a long time for food one Sunday but the manager was very courteous and kindly wavered our food bill. Food is of high quality with good atmosphere :)

Good historic pub, lots of space, friendly staff, clean loos. Nice garden for enjoying quality beers. Good stop off for hiking through picturesque villages. Gave four stars previously but happy to give five as visited again and cannot really fault the place. Superb setting, great Bloody Mary and excellent fish and chips. If eating worth booking a table as gets busy and might be risky to chance an outdoor seat if the weather's fine.

Food is soo good here, glad we came by, great selection of drinks including the added extras for the gin and tonics the barmaid, unsure of her name gave us lots of tips on the local area, this lady is worth her weight in gold very attentive, and couldnt do enough for us. Thank you for having us and our noisy grumpy dogs.

As a vegan was disappointed that the only thing on the menu I could eat was a ploughmans minus the bread and ham. I was presented with a dry slice of bread, a quarter of an apple and a browning limp stick of celery and charged full price (£10) for going hungry. Awful.

The room was old and the Windows were draughty although the bathroom was very nice. We had a meal in the restaurant which was far too expensive. We had to order separate vegetables with the pork dish as that's all was on the plate. Disappointed overall.

The guys running this place were friendly and welcoming, all staff were great. We were welcomed by regulars and joined them with our nightcap. Great area for walking. Food good. Rooms comfy and cosy. We'll be back!

Visited here for lunch at the end of last week after a walk with the dog. This pub is very dog friendly and they even provided a bowl of water. Bar staff were very welcoming, friendly and polite. Great selection of local hand pulled ales which you can try a sample of first if you want to. Good food menu too with a range of options from starters or light bites to mains and open sandwiches. I chose liver and bacon on mash potatoes and onion gravy, very well presented and delicious too. Sat in the public bar area which was comfortable and a had good friendly atmosphere. There is a separate restaurant area if you want table service and the pub has a garden too. I would definitely recommend visiting this pub if you are in Hambleden or nearby, very good ale, food and customer service.

Just wonderful. We came across the pub by chance last year when exploring the villages around Henley-on-Thames. We made the decision to come back. In the meantime we have rehomed a rescue dog so when we found out that some of your rooms are dog friendly then it felt like it was meant to be so we booked a night. Firstly our room was spotless and well aired. A lovely bed had been provided for Maxi together with a bowl and dog biscuit. The bed is so comfortable that I didn't want to get up on the Sunday morning. We had a good time exploring the village and then came back to sit in the lounge area and relax. The staff could not have been lovelier. Our evening meal was superb with a good choice of local wines. We gave been busy recommending it to our friends and will book a second trip. Big thanks to all the lovely staff.

My hubby and I stayed for 2 nights and were blown away with the whole place. Meals lovely, room top notch and the staff couldn't do enough. Would of stayed there forever if I could have. Highly recommend this great place especially if you want peace and quite. Great job Stag and Huntsman.

I've been to the Stag & Huntsman many times over the past few years and it just keeps getting better. The garden now has table service, the food is good and the location is beautiful. What more can you ask from a country pub?

We pre ordered our food. What I had ordered had been since taken off the menu however my halloumi salad tasted like it had been dragged from the bottom of the freezer and was only a little bit like what I had ordered. I mentioned it to them and got no response. I asked for cutlery as there were more people than places set the response was she would see if we needed it when she bought the food. She bought the food and left me without cutlery so I had to ask again. Then to top it all off when my bill can't they charged me more than what it was in the menu. Because my salad had been discontinued they charged me for a more expensive salad. When I complained I got nothing not an apology an explanation or my money I over paid back. They white wine was awful too. However the Malbec was nice and the pub is sweet. Check your bill and don't order halloumi.

Me and my motorcycling mate rode down from London yesterday for not just a great ride out and frequenting various places but to have lunch here. … the experience food and ambience was absolutely perfect. … great with locals and visitors this beautiful countryside pub esteemed in exquisite English chilterns fields and lush encompassing landscape. … I had the roast beef with an elite selection of freshly cooked vegetables. … medium rare free range beef was my choice. … with finally some warm and very sunny weather we sat outside in the garden. Where if you decide you would like a barbecued lunch instead this is going on in perfect juxtaposition. … staff are really friendly professional and quick. … tucked away in its own enchanting utopia this is an absolute must for everyone. With Marlow Maidenhead and the Henley on Thames regatta nearby their's countless reasons why you will want to keep coming back time and time again. …

Average experience. One meal came out wrong but was changed. Meat under done for our taste and we had not been asked preference.

We stopped at the Stag & Huntsman on a Sunday while on a Country Walk & had a terrific lunch. They had the grill going in the garden and it was lovely. Clean bathrooms, interesting pub & good food.

Amazing place friendly staff quiet bathroom and bedrooms very quirky with beams and wonky floors amazing detail very private food very good value for money the place was spotless better then any travelodge or holiday inn etc.
