Awful service. Tried to give feedback via email and have been made to feel as though the issues were my fault. Paid £500 to stay here for my wedding and recommended 6 other couples to stay here and all of them have felt let down by the service. Asked for breakfast to be brought to room, and had to go and ask for it on my wedding morning while I was getting ready and it just seemed like I was being inconvenient. Wasn't given any information about check-out, breakfast times or even an offer for bags to be taken to room. If you want your room to be serviced and it does not fit in to their early morning schedule, it won't get done. You have to physically ask for anything standard to be done. You won't be made to feel like you matter during your stay. I would not recommend this hotel. Such a shame as it's absolutely beautiful and I had such high hopes.

DEFINITELY worth a visit. We planned our trip to England specifically for this hotel, and it’s absolutely perfect. The cutest little town, too.

Fantastoc food cooked by amazing chef and served ny wonderful ataff who go that exta mile… all at a very reasonable price and not forgetting a good wine list.

Really cool building and room… traditional to its age but with modern touches. All the staff we came across were so friendly and helpful. Only minor point from me would be that there wasn't much of a choice of whiskey in the bar. All in all a brilliant place though!

Beautiful location in Amersham old town. The Crown is a converted C16th coach house and retains original features such as wooden timbers and cobblestones. We stayed in a courtyard room (108) which is a maisonette-style split-level property with small lounge and shower room downstairs (upon entrance), and stairs up to a master room with super king bed & claw foot bath in the room. Furnished in-keeping with the period, yet also boasting aircon, it's very luxurious and relaxing. Service at the front desk, to the room and at breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended place to stay — we will definitely be going back.

We were there on a weekend and it was a lovely stay. However, if there's a wedding on, as there was when we were there, the bar was closed, which wasn't great. Also, the time to get into for breakfast was ridiculous, due to the number of wedding guests that stayed overnight. When the breakfast finally came, it was good.

Stayed here a few weeks ago to attend a friend's wedding in the 'king's chapel' located just down the road. The rooms, service and all the facilities were exquisite. I stayed in one of the courtyard rooms, which excellently blends old world charm with modern comforts, for 3 nights but could have stayed a month! Lovely and unique — I would recommend to anyone, well worth the cost.

The manager is absolutely abhorrent. And worst of all, it was during a wake. Avoid at all costs.

Really splendid. An environment that takes you to 200 years before, without losing any of the comforts. A continental breakfast is excellent and service impeccable. The place is really lovely. The service at the hotel reception was excellent and in general the staff is very kind. They screwed our dinner reservation but made up for it with complimentary wine. The service in the bar dining room was courteous but incompetent. We were forgotten about 3 times.

Historic Amersham, at the end of the Metropolitan Line, makes for a charming weekend getaway from London. Rooms at The Crown are rustic, yet modern, and many look out onto the well-kept courtyard (not a bad spot for a nightcap). If the weather is good, borrow bicycles from reception and pootle around the countryside.
