The King & Queen Inn

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful pub last weekend with friends. This was my first visit and it will certainly not be my last. This warm, welcoming and extremely friendly family run pub is a must if you are in the area or travelling through. The food was amazing, room was excellent and the pub itself excellent value. Don't forget to check out the fantastic beer garden, a must on a warm day. Many thanks for looking after us and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Great breakfast, clean room and well hosted. Lovely place to stay. Don't forget to get a pint in the bar.

Very accommodating for a last minute booking. Tasty food, great atmosphere, very good service, punctual and efficient as well as friendly and welcoming. Will recommend.

We went to the college farm with some friends for a meal and ordered our meals and 10 minutes later they came back and told us there was a problem in the kitchen and they had nothing hardly on the menu because they had problems in the kitchen with there equipment. So we went over to the eagle watchfield to try and were closed. We didn't want to travel to far so I suggested we try king and queen at Longcot the village that I came from that I had not visited for 30 years or more. We all had a really enjoyable meal and the service was excellent.

Lovely pub with great character. Friendly staff, good home-cooked food and a decent selection of beers. Will definitely be back!

We walked across the fields from our home to go to this highly recommended pub. We were not disappointed. Lovley staff, landlady was very nice and chatty. Good local ales. Big fire. Newspapers and comfy seats. Board games, and old school games. Food was really good too! Definitely a recommend.

What a lovely stay! Very friendly staff and made us feel very welcome. Nice and authentic atmosphere with people coming in for drinks, eating and just hanging around. Nice room, but can be loud from the pub downstairs until it closes. Good dinner and breakfast.

Love this pub so much that I wrote about it in my novel 'Tiger Tears'. Mark and Sally always made us Aussies feel welcome and it became a little home away from home for us and a great way to mix with the local community. Food and beer quality is great.

Fabulous countryside pub serving a good selection of ales and draught cider, with a charming otusode seating area for when the weather is fine on a Sunday afternoon. Very tranquil.

Absolutely super roast dinner! Good pink meat, nice roast potatoes and lots of very tasty gravy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nicely laid out pub with the excellent Loose Cannon bewery's Gunners Gold a regular. Great food as well as bar billiards. Only downside can be parking, but that just means a short walk from the village.

We were camping nearby and came here with a group of 4 families with young children. It was perfect for us. We were put in a separate room with a big trunk of classic toys that the kids loved. Food was good too!

I booked us in as a group of four families with small children and we were given a while room to ourselves with a nice little area where the kids could amuse themselves, toys included! The food was very good, roast lamb was very nicely done. The staff were very accommodating to our needs. A bit more expensive than average perhaps, but worth it.

Popped in for lunch the other day with my wife. We love coming here, there's a friendly welcome every time, and the food is absolutely incredible. Always recommend to everyone we know. It's very popular though (for good reason) so would recommend booking/reserving a table if you're travelling from further afield or in a large group. Would give 10 stars if able! Can't wait to go back soon.

Stayed overnight before RIAT 2016. Great welcome, good food reasonably priced. Lovely view from bedroom, and a really nice room with tea/coffee facilities and biscuits. Also free water. We paid £140 for dinner with wine, bed and breakfast.

Just spent a great week at the King and Queen. Clean fresh rooms, great food and a wide selection of ales, all in a traditional pub with a modern feel — superb!

What can I say, after living in the village for 16 years I can honestly say the King & Queen has never been as good. The atmosphere is amazing a true village pub, the dining areas are quieter and offers the perfect setting for your meal but you still feel part of the great village pub atmosphere. All three courses of the meal were amazing, four very happy diners. Great choice of beers & ciders available. All of the above pulled together by a great service, from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave you are the priority for Sally, Mark & their great team. We feel very fortunate to have a great pub within the village. Well done Sally & Mark.

We have had starters, mains and deserts. Everything was just excellent. Far away from just pub food. The duck leg confit — gorgeous. The pork tenderloin with rhubarb — I never had this before — fa dream for a food addicted. The cappuccino cream brûlée — perfectly made. I would make them a Michelin star restaurant. :-)

Nice bar abd good breakfast.

Visiting the White Horse area, I've found this fantastic place to have a dinner. The arrival is welcomed by a nice room with bar, three sofas and a fireplace. People around were speaking lovely and waitresses caring about all we need. A good selection of drinks, including locally beer, with very good choice of food with meat and fishes carefully prepared with vegetables and potatoes. The starters were great with a selection of sauces they made them special. We haven't tried the desserts but they looked like very good but a starter and a main were already enough for you hungry. Definitely a good experience that worth the travel.

Stayed here several times now, and always look forward to my next visit. Mark, Sally, their family and staff are lovely and welcoming; the rooms are gorgeous; and the food and beer excellent. Perfect place to stay.

A warm welcome on arrival and continues throughout the stay. Food was incredible extremely clean and comfortable rooms, excellent decor would highly recommend and look forward to our next visit x.

A good local pub worth the drive out for the food, real ales and wine.
