Unfortunately this has got to have been the most expensive Sunday lunch I have had, not only that the service was very poor and the meal was terrible. The main course was £16 and consisted of two slices of very fatty Lamb a bit on the tough side, two roast potatoes, "the best part of the meal" one piece of Cauliflower, and three very poorly prepared carrots, and to top it all a very large burnt rock hard Yorkshire was stuck on the top, the whole meal was very poor, and there was no thought to its presentation at all, we will not be going back.
Good potential but staff seem to not care about anyone but themselves. We were the only guests that night, after we paid they informed us that they wouldn't serve food that night, luckily The ship across the street was willing to make an exception to make us a meal though the kitchen was closed, otherwise we had been stuck in a village with no places to get a proper meal. We had to convince the staff at the antelope inn to make us breakfast in time so that we could be at Stonehenge at 9 am (we had pre booked tickets). Dirty laundry was lying in the hallway and not moved while we were there and towels were in the laundry when we arrived at 6 PM and not ready before 9 PM. No bedsheets on the bed, the room ice cold and furniture were old and cranky. Way to expensive for what you get. If you are on your way to Stonehenge, grab a meal and a beer at The ship and continue to one of the inns in one of the other small villages on your way to Stonehenge. Doubt they can be this lousy value for money as the Antelope.

Fantastic atmosphere, great customer service, rooms are beautiful and located close to Avebury and Stonehenge. The new chef's food is delicious.
