I stayed at the Bourne Valley Inn and I had lunch and dinner there; food was great and very tasty but the jewel in the crown for me was Danielle the assistant manager (I think that’s her title) ; friendly, engaging, upbeat, attentive, and all round great service. Bravo Danielle you made my experience so much better.

Not often do I bother to write reviews, but I couldn’t not after attending a wedding this weekend at Bourne Valley Inn. I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing service — incredible food, it was all so tasty with great selection and plenty. Also great attentive friendly staff, who made us feel so welcome. 🤩

Such a friendly welcoming place in a beautifully quiet setting. We loved the food and they were vey dog friendly. Great attention to detail with little dog biscuits available in the room and a special sausage for our dog at breakfast. Would recommend and we would definitely go back. Thank you to all the staff. 😊

For our sons 40th birthday we booked to have dinner at Bourne Valley Inn, we were not disappointed! The food was outstanding as was the service and lovely staff! Many thanks.

An amazing Valentine’s night meal here, great service, live music from a superb singer and the staff were excellent, totally recommend this place 😊😊

Fantastic roast beef and roast lamb Sunday lunch, now lounging on the sofa at home in a food coma.
Always experienced great service here too, friendly, atmospheric with a fab gin selection!

Had a lovely lunch in one of the beer pods. Nice menu, my little one loved the fish and chips. Great portion size for a child as well.

I live locally and have eaten in the b. V. I more times than I can remember the food is always good but yesterday was incredible the duck Bon bons were immense then the home cooked beef burger doubled up with bacon and all the trimmings was the best burger I have ever eaten, credit to the chef it was cooked to perfection. 5 ⭐️

Devoured our takeaway today. Delicious as ever. Favourite pub in the local area and has been since we first moved here. Especially love coming around Xmas time. Thanks again x.

Absolutely fantastic pub, amazing food, great service and gorgeous rooms! Cannot recommend this place enough. This place is so good, we had our wedding reception here and they were perfect.

Chose the Bourne Valley In as it is pet friendly. I have to say that my wife and I weren’t disappointed. We had lunch and dinner on the first day, and breakfast on the day we left; good quality food served by helpful and friendly staff. Room was also very cosy.

Afternoon Tea
Had the most amazing afternoon tea with the girls yesterday. Food services and atmosphere was 100% perfect. Will defiantly be going back and recommending BVI to all my friends.

Lovey polite staff, nice selection of ales and general drinks… for on the other hand I felt was below par unfortunately… may have been an off day and they did apologise immensely and deducted 10% from the bill.
All in all I would return but only for the staff and drinks unfortunately. Such a shame as I’m starting to look for a venue for an upcoming birthday.

Nice place and good location. Plenty of parking and good sized rooms. If you're on the ground floor, you can hear the people above you and everything that they are doing (if you know what I mean). The room would have been a nightmare had it been warmer. I'm safety conscious and wouldn't gave felt safe sleeping with the window open all night. Food at dinner was lovely and breakfast was fine. Flies during breakfast put me off a bit… especially with pastries sitting out in the open. I recommend that you book for dinner. We didn't on our second night as we hadn't realised it was so popular. The restaurant staff were very accommodating and got us a table anyway which we were very grateful for. Overall, I would stay again and would recommend.

We held our wedding reception at the BVI this weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Billy has been so helpful in the run up to the wedding and nothing was too much. All our guests were super impressed with the Afternoon Tea and BBQ and there are now far more Laverstoke drinkers! The naked cake looked lovely and tasted delicious! The breakfast spread was just what we required the next day! Thank you so much to Billy, Milly and the rest of the team for making our special day so wonderful. Mr and Mrs North.

Staff were all really helpful and friendly. Delightful setting and pleasant atmosphere with a really nice old-fashioned vibe. Lovely picturesque surroundings. Food in the restaurant/pub was very good with a great selection of drinks. Rooms well furnished with large bed yet still enough room for a travel cot. We noticed the room had very thin walls, so we could hear activity from the rooms above and adjacent to us. Generally the whole place was well cleaned but a couple of corners in our room looked like they've been missed. Toilet roll holder was loose although not an issue.

Great selection of Ales and Lagers, loads of outsife space in a picturesque surrounding and the best food a pub has ever served! Only gripe being during busy times you will find it hard to get a seat outside. Despite the large garden areas there are not many benches/tables. They have the space to put twice/three times as many tables outside which would make many people a lot of comfortable. Overall an excellent place!

Great venue and great staff. One on the dishes I ordered wasn’t quite to my taste, not only did they replace it with an alternative they knocked some money off the bill. 5 star customer service!

Amazing service, providing well cooked and quality food. Dog friendly. Menu is seasonal and well prepared. Good selection for meat eaters and vegetarians. We will definitely be back.

Watch your glasses! Iv literally just popped in for a pint with a friend, looking forward to a nice cold refreshing pint of Heineken to find that my glass was in an unusable state. What I can only describe as mank and grime around the rim, it looked like it hadn't been polished once in its life. Had to leave the pint and find refuge at another inn. You may have great beers but if your glasses are in poor condition and your serving beer in them it's not good. My friend even had a little bit of lipstick around his. Please sort it out!

Fabulous overnight stay. Food was excellent both in the evening and at breakfast. Highly recommended.

Staff are welcoming and friendly. There is a real buzz about the place, a nice balance between being child friendly but not overly so. Food was great and a huge range of drinks to choose from.

Been here a few times. Food has nearly always been amazing, if they are out of anything they always try to put something else on. Have had a few issues but only minor things. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking is a little bit of a problem. Would definately recommend going here.

Good lovely place with a great atmosphere, but still quiet in rooms. Room and bathroom had been recently been refurbished to a high standard with a great bath and shower! Plus the new coffee machine was great. You would also be very hard pushed to find more welcoming and friendly staff! Great stay.

As we arrived to stay on a Sunday it was very quiet. Breakfast was just the two of us. Staff very friendly and helpful. Went to the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery first — 5 miles away. Walked round the beautiful village, thatched cottages. Very nice Christmas present. Would stay again but on a Saturday.

Having been disappointed with various other local pubs / tea-rooms / restaurants, the BVI was a welcome breath of fresh air. Great service, some of the nicest food I've tasted in a while and lovely surroundings. Family and dog friendly, this place had a nice atmosphere and I can't wait to go back.

Very nice place and good breakfast. Staff are really good and helpful. The dinner was deserving of awards. The only not great point is that if you have noisy neighbours, they will probably keep you up.

Hands down the best pub I have visited. The building is cosy and welcoming as you arrive, and a newer extension adds space for comfortable dining. The owner is amazing, she is one of the most kind, helpful and likable people I've met. There is a nice selection of beer, and the food was excellent.

Really nice and atmospheric pub, has a good range of beers and ales, fireplace and a lot of space to sit around. Food is also much better than in most pubs I've ever been. Highly recommended for a quick beer or a lunch/dinner date.

A warm welcome. Fabulous food with fabulous staff. Along with a rustic yet modern bar and log fire what more do you need. Bed was really comfortable. Enjoyed our stay immensely and we definitely be back — thoroughly recommended.

We called in to the Bourne Valley Inn all by accident. What a lovely welcome! Even the locals were lovely. The food was good and wholesome and the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will call here again.

Beautiful country pub and hotel. Rooms slightly warm during the summer. Menu is fantastic.

Lovely location, interesting building, friendly bar and helpful good staff. Evening meal and breakfast of high quality. But… room 3 oh dear! Tired wallpaper peeling in window recess, toilet seat dangerously loose, toilet brush-not nice. Bed and bedding though very comfortable, good quality. Would recommend an upstairs room next time.

Enjoyed fantastic tasting menu starring the first grouse of the season. It's lovely when the food on the plate not only looks and tastes wonderful, but also comes with a great story. Well done all at the BVI for being the first grouse to the pass in Hampshire!

We visited as a group of 8 for lunch and had a great time. Perfect service and tasty food. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful few hours here for a mates birthday. Location is a bit hidden away but on the main road. The place itself has a massive contained garden with plenty of new hand carved tables and benches outside. Inside all very olde and traditional. Oh the food was great as well. I'd recommend their burgers all hand made. A perfect escape into the country.

You will get a nice welcome the beers are good and a very good wine list and the food is very good and tasty.

Just left the Bourne Valley Inn after an overnight stay and what a find! My other half and I were in raptures over the food (cheesy garlic fries, people! ) and both agree it was the best meal that we have eaten in at least a decade, if not ever. The staff were brilliant — so friendly, welcoming and accommodating — and the room was lovely. Such a beautiful setting also — so lovely to sit in the sun, looking out over the beautiful scenery, with a good pint of lager or ale in hand. A wonderfully chilled stay that was worth every penny. We sat in the outside garden, lovely garden with stunning views. Refreshing drinks and even had an area to go look at flowers, plants and even a in house rabbit! Was brilliant for a quiet pub drink.

Lovely country pub with food most of the time very homely. Lots of little areas and a good garden area. I had an afternoon tea very disappointed with the size of the portions ans the scones were just normal ones they probably bought in from the supermarket. Asked for more only to be told it was just one slice of a sandwich 3 in total for each person for £9. Apart from the food and prices a nice place.

The Bourne Valley Inn is a comfortable and welcoming pub with rooms. The pub and eating area are nicely furnished and lovely to eat or just lounge around and relax in. We met with a group of friends for dinner and a stay over so it was the perfect location for us all to meet. We even took our dog as the whole place is completely dog friendly which was great. The rooms were cosy with a huge, comfortable bed. My only negative was that the rooms look quite tired. The bathroom definitely needed an overhaul with things like the steel toilet brush and bin being rusty and mucky and mould around the shower being a bit of a stomach turn… only small things but these could so easily be remedied.
This said we had a great stay here. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection and breakfast was chosen from a vast range which covered all tastes and was plentiful. The staff were wonderful and very attentive at all times. We booked a winter special which was £99 for room, breakfast and a glass of English Nytimber sparkling wine which was delicious. We would stay again however it would be nice to see these little touches improved on as they could make all the difference. I'm not sure we'd pay full price for the current quality of rooms though. A spring clean is definitely needed here.

What a fantastic meal! An ideal place to take your partner out for a special lunch. I went for the ham hock terrine followed by the pork belly — delicious! My partner opted for the crab salad followed by the pan seared pollock fillet. She said it was the business! Friendly staff, lovely location and ambiance, nice wine selection — thank you for a wonderful birthday celebration.

Amazing venison dishes and cured meats. Lovely ale selection and plenty of good tipples on the shelves! Cheeky cigars can be selected from the humidor.

Attended a funeral service here. Wonderful setting and service. Made a difficult time much easier.

A pleasant coubtry pub with good food and drink. A nice place to go have a chat over a pint with friends or for a nice quiet meal with your other half.

Stayed here in May 2015 and found staff to be very friendly and helpful. Room was very small and walls very thin (could hear the fella snoring in the adjacent room). Heating and ventilation was rather poor as the bathroom walls were moisture stained/streaked. Dining experience was positive and staff were very willing to accommodate special requests.

We booked our room direct for £125 b&b, only to find it was £85 on all other websites! The breakfast was very ordinary — no fresh fruit etc. The restaurant chairs had one upholstered seat and one wooden which was quite uncomfortable after a while. The evening menu was limited. The bedroom was spartan — psuedo shabby chic. A rusty tin cage acting as a table with a raw orange box on it for a tray — no cloth, no milk or creamer. The wardrobe was a metal shelf rack with three hangers and there was one uncomfortable wooden kitchen type chair. There was just about enough room between the wall mounted TV and the bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom was not memorable. All in all we felt a little cheated, and it was not the treat we had been expecting after the write ups in the Times etc.

The rooms and service where very nice and the staff and service were exceptional.

Very good. Excellent food. Bedrooms a bit basic but acceptable and clean.

Nice setting and inn, very rustic, and the staff were friendly. However, quite expensive for a night B&B and the following issues. The heating was on full blast upstairs it was uncomfortable, the shower had freeze or scald settings only, the chimney to the main lounge clearly hadn't been swept for years, smoke billowed into the lounge all night choking us, and stinking the place out. They started cleaning/hoovering around us on Sunday morning during the busy breakfast rush hour. Last of all breakfast experience was awful. The hot food all came separately and in short supply, by the time it all arrived it was cold. At one point one of the waitresses even said, in spite of the fact that we were a party of 18 (and spending a small fortune), they had only budgeted 14 sausages for 18 people and anyway, they had had an unexpectedly busy Saturday, so we should understand?! It was like we had to work around the hotel. Some management required to take control.

Super boutique rooms, not big, but lovely, the team are superb, the food is just brilliant, pie and mash is the best I've ever eaten. Even the coffee is excellent. For work nearby, I've been twice now, and I can't wait to go back very soon. I've never given 5 stars before, but this place has my vote.
