Thought we’d give this a try since we enjoyed The Pheasant. Well worth it! Fantastic Sunday Roast. The beef was brilliant, the Yorkshire was yummy, and the cauliflower cheese was out of this world! Service was great and the atmosphere / deco in the new place up to the same high standards. We’ll be back!

The food is absolutely wonderful! The best roast lamb I think I’ve ever tasted. A tasty full menu which was very difficult to choose from. The staff could not have done enough for us. I am in a wheelchair and a ramp was placed to enable me entrance to the pub. A big thank you to Charlotte for looking after me so well. I can’t wait to go back! 10 out of 10 for just about everything!

We took our 7 year out on Friday night, and this was honestly one of the best meals we have had in ages. The staff were friendly and fantastic, but the food was the real winner. The lamb was prob the best I have ever had, and ever course was brilliant. My wife is vegetarian and I dont think she has ever had so much choice. Although it is a 4 hour drive for us, it is worth the drive down again.

We came to The George and Dragon for a last minute lunch and it did not disappoint. The tapas menu was great, food executed perfectly and the service was also very good. Can’t wait to come back again soon.

Brilliant food, service, staff and location. The George and Dragon is a great local pub/restaurant where you can have both your midweek catch ups with a glass of wine (or two) and also date nights with a delicious meal!

This place is absolutely gorgeous, everything from the location to the decor to the cosy rooms is just purely pleasant, top marks to all the staff and the owner who all went the extra mile to accommodate to my requests with smiles on all their faces, not only all that but the sourdough bread alone will get me coming back again and again! What an absolute credit to this little slice of heaven.

We have just had a takeaway from G and D and it was fantastic. We haven’t been out for a meal for three weeks so it made some a welcome change. The food was incredible, delicious and massive portions. Absolutely value for money. Thank you.

This is as good as a country pub you could find. An 17th century coach house now a pub with rooms and food. The staff are excellent.

The food was delicious, fancy and well cooked. The service was helpful and friendly. We accidentally found the pub but did not realise how fine the dining there is! Superb. The only thing missing was that I would like bread included with my meal.

Top class dinner for two, completely unhurried, reasonable price, attentive service, well stocked bar. This is well worth a visit.

Not a bad pub, very easy on the eye but these guys don’t want riff raff in there. Would only show evening World Cup footy games even though there was plenty of 3pm kick offs. Beer is very expensive as are crisps. Some fella was even eating risotto at the bar, absolutely stunk. I’ll stick to spoons.

Small pub/restaurant. Tiny outside space. From the outside this looks like a well presented typical village pub. When you get inside it even looks like a local village pub but then you start to get the mixed messages that this place is not sure what its trying to be. This place is trying to serve slightly more upmarket food. They have taken this upmarket approach a little too far as even regular brands of drinks are unavailable as they only serve the non branded soft drinks. Prices are VERY expensive. More comparable, and suited, to London rather than Hampshire. I would suggest that either the interior changes to match the food or vice versa. There are many more pubs/restaurants with nicer surroundings, cheaper prices and without an identity problem all within a short drive from this location. Due to that I'd have to recommend that this place is probably best just viewing from the outside as you drive past on your way to a nicer place. I'd give it a miss.

Good food and friendly staff let down by inefficient service, for example the vegetables didn't arrive until half the main course had been eaten. Could be really good if this was addressed because the food was very well prepared and presented.

I had the roast beef which was excellent and other people had the chicken which was great too. This made the dessert even more of a disappointment. I had the hazelnut cake which tasted delicious but was a tiny slice for quite an expensive price (£6.95). My wife had the brownie which also wasn't up to the standard of the main meals. A shame.

Came for a meal on Valentine’s Day and had been looking forward to it since I booked the table. The menu has changed since the last time I ate here so was excited to see what new dishes there were available. Had all three courses and the flavours were amazing on each one. Very well cooked and thoroughly enjoyed them. The staff were exceptional, all very friendly and service was very quick which was great considering how busy it was in there. Will definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu now. Thank you.

I've eaten at many places in and around Andover. Both my fiance and I feel that the experience at eating at the George and Dragon is simply the best. The staff are what you would expect from a high quality restaurant, an attritibute sorely missed from the George and Dragons competitors. If I were in charge of this pub I would be proud of my team. Flexible and ready to adapt to suit needs that don't appear on menus. The food itself is exceptional. Tonight we dined at the Yew… Tree and were excited to try something different. Personally I was disgusted by the service at the Yew Tree and furthermore the food there is unquestionably inferior to the George and Dragon. There is no comparison to a night out in Andover to this pub. You simply cannot be disappointed. Thank you George and Dragon for always giving us a great evenings.

Very friendly with good food. Will let a well behaved dog come in which is a great bonus.

My cousin is the owner so highly biased, especially as I was treated to the tasting menu. That said, the food was delicious and the service excellent. I spent a lot of time I'm one of the window seats reading and the staff got the balance exactly right between attention and letting be. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Take it from a french man! After the 5th visit, time to reflect. Traditional pub ambiance with dark beams and low ceilings. Food is inventive and well prepared without being presomptious. Good quality ingredients. Every visit is always very enjoyable even for a Christmas company party. Enjoy!

Nice place room bit titchy but ok to bed down, clean and pleasant. No biscuits in room though.

Had August bank holiday lunch there. Excellent, my wife and I enjoyed it so much. And as they say happy wife happy life! If we did not live so near would definitely stay a night for BB. mike curtis.

Stayed overnight in "the cottage" and had excellent dinner in the pub too. Very friendly and cosy. Highly recommended.

Lovely welcome, friendly staff, beers superb, and the food is delicious. This pub is one of the best I have been to in years, and is now in my top 3! Out experience:
We were 4 adults, 2 three year olds and 1 baby. And they could not have made it easier for us. First the kids menu was brilliant and it turned into colouring which is a treat as it means the they are entertained. Fresh, healthy food that kids would like but that is still healthy, we ordered homemade chicken dippers and fresh veg and the two three year olds had clean plates at the end.
For us adults: We ordered Hake, Chicken and Burgers and all were delicious. I personally had the burger and it was awesome but also the fries had something special about them too. We can not wait to come back and either stay at the hotel as they have babysitters or stay with friends nearby but the one that can be sure is that we will be coming back. (And next time I will look at the wine list) Thank you Patrick and all the G&D staff for a great Bank Holiday Monday Lunch.

A. U J revamped and revitalised pub from when I previously visited it many years ago with new owners. Big inside with separate little room areas around the bar which give it a comforting feel. The staff are courteous and prompt, with good knowledge about the food and able to fit a family of five in last minute in a busy day. The food was tasty, not the cheapest but very good quality and even though busy that day came quickly and no issue with standard. Range of beers with some brewed in the same village.

This place is a sublime mixture of traditional old English country pub and contemporary fine dining. Staff are always friendly and attentive during even the busiest of times making you warm and welcome at every opertunity. The owner of the establishment ensures that he is current with all aspects of hospitality spending a great deal of time with his customers. I know from experience that you not find a finer place to dine or stay within a very large radius.

Christmas work do. The service was prompt and good. The food has a range of games, fish, foul and vegetarian. The portions are good sized and the food is well cooked, and nicely presented. I can find something very nice to eat with my weird food allergies so for me it was a real treat. The desserts are lush with homemade ice cream. It's a good place to go if you are into good food.

We stayed here in September for a night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a 3 course meal, wine and drinks and stayed in a beautiful guest room called Pemberley. When we arrived we were given a friendly welcome and invited to see our room and set our things down. We thought we'd have to book a specific time for dinner but were put at ease and welcomed to come downstairs whenever we were ready — it felt like staying at a friend's. So comfortable and welcoming. The room was beautiful — very spacious and well decorated. Not overly fussy, which I loved. The room and bathroom were immaculate — I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is definitely the cleanest. Very smart and modern with a cosy country feel that you would expect from a high quality village inn. As a front facing room on a reasonably busy road, I did worry that it would be noisy, however the sound proofing is such that we couldn't even hear the traffic — clearly every effort had been made in the design and planning of the rooms to consider all comforts! We went downstairs and were shown to our table. There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area with fire lit and locals and visitors chatting away over drinks. We fancied a drink and were expertly guided through an impressive range of gins — 17 I think! We put our trust in our waiter and he brought us a couple of beautiful G&Ts which went down a treat.
