Beautiful hotel! Me and my husband had a lovely clean room with a stunning view of the lake. We both enjoyed a nice swim in the spa. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice again with lovely views of the lake :) such a peaceful place we both left feeling very relaxed espcially me after my fab massage and facial. We can't wait to come back! :) :)

We recently stayed here and had a package including a treatment each. Kenneth, poppy and I think his name was George really great members of staff and an asset to the hotel. Rooms have no air con and so had a bit of a sleepless night although the fan provided was helpful. Treatments were amazing and the pool etc is very relaxing. Food is absolutely amazing and would definitely return even if it’s just for the food. The only thing that annoyed us was we were not told we needed to book a breakfast slot and by the time we found this out we were only given choice of 7am which was an absolute no or 11am which because we had to get back home by 12 we had to rush our food down and leave! They could of asked about booking breakfast at check in as there was no one other than us checking in at the time.

Really recommend spa 6. Sugar and Sweetlena were great, polite, professional and listening to our needs. Thank you again!

We had the best stay at the de vere. We’ve stayed before and it never disappoints. The staff are so welcoming and go above and beyond for you and the rooms are incredible. Best hotel I’ve stayed in in the uk.

Had a lovely time away with my Mum. The staff in the hotel and at the Boathouse could not have been more helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the food was lovely, our room was spacious, clean and warm with beautiful views over the lake.

Staying for our Anniversary. Had a ground floor room with balcony & gorgeous lakeside view. Our room was clean & a good size. Breakfast was really good with great selection. Had Dinner in the Brassiere restaurant, food was lovely. Staff are friendly. Possibly due to time of year it was lovely & peaceful. Would recommend. .

Wonderful setting with so much fot all the family to do. Walks, Cycling, Different Bar/Restaurants on site. Kids park. Kids play area in the hotel. Rooms are fantastic ours had great views of the lake. Will come back and recommend to all my friends.

Here for 3 nights. Superb location. Very comfortable rooms, and a super size comfortable bed. Staff very attentive, friendly and helpful. Delicious food in the restaurants. Will stay here again.

Lovely place to stay, however food was very mediocre. Breakfast ok, no frills but evening meals (which were included in booking price) not good.
Do yourself a favour, go to the lovely restaurants around the hotel!

The ravette steak. It's only my personal opinion, nothing against how it was presented or the staff, I just like a big steak!

Stayed for the weekend for what should have been our wedding The Lounge Staff, Reception Staff and Spa Staff were lovely. Although the swimming pool was freezing! However the Brasserie experience was awful thanks to rudest most ignorant manager. The interior is so outdated and the menu would barely compare to a Wetherspoons. It’s cliche but I really don’t ever complain. However the manager in the Brasserie on Sat evening was so dismissive rude and just left us not knowing what was happening when we trying to get the table we had booked to try and make a romantic evening of what would have been our wedding. Totally obnoxious and really shouldn’t be in the hospitality trade.

Amazing friendly staff, great facilities and lots of safety measures in place.

The staff at this hotel were incredible helping us plan our wedding in just 2 days. Although we had a limited number of guests, everyone had an incredible time and it really was perfect. The hotel views are beautiful, the apartments were very spacious and the covid measures made us feel safe and relaxed. We had an absolutely perfect time and can’t wait to return for another stay xxx.

The lake is very pretty and that’s where the good parts finish. We booked this hotel as a last-minute getaway and were thoroughly disappointed from the moment we arrived. The staff are grumpy and inattentive, the room was filthy, the mattress had collapsed on one side and room service phone takes about 15 minutes before anyone picks up when breakfast was delivered it had mould on it. Having had our rooms changed, due to the above, we arrived at our new room to find dirty nappies left in the bin and a view overlooking the car park. Then there’s the restaurant — cheap, crap microwaved food. This is barely a 3-star hotel, let alone the 4 you have advertised. COVID is not an excuse as we’ve stayed in a number of hotels recently and they’ve all been great. Seriously regret booking this and feel cheated out of cash — AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I have been here a couple of. Hours and it is already my favourite place. Room with a terrace and view of the lake, snax and. Booze in the pantry, beautiful grounds, superb customer service. It's so dark and quiet perfect for stars and bat watching. I can't wait to come back when the spa is open.

Lovely place definitely worth a visit, spa nice, staff nice, rooms fabulous and comfy, we stayed in the apartments and had everything, lovely place, great walks.
The boathouse restaurant was ok, but won’t be using it again food was mediocre and we ordered lunch which looked great when it arrived but was a bit dry/not that good. Staff were lovely in there, but won’t be eating there. The other thing that was disappointing was you can only use the pool area 7:30-10am & 5:30-10:30pm it’s closed to guests during the day! Hotel itself lovely. We stayed in the deluxe rooms/apartments and very pleased. Will come again.

Very nice food excellent person yeha staff really good. Only one complaint bloody given disabled room if I wanted that I would have asked for one receptionist did not even ask or tell me.

I am giving this hotel two stars not because it is a bad hotel but it just didn’t meet my expectations and I was left disappointed. We booked a family room and paid extra for a balcony so expected a lake view. I did not realise this would not be the case and instead had a lovely view of our car in the car park. Had we known we would not have booked this rather expensive hotel to be left with a feeling that we spent a few days in a travel lodge (nothing wrong with them just not what was expected). When booking it was not clear that this room wouldn’t have a lake view. We also found at breakfast we were not seated near the lake, the grassy area at the front of the hotel was not practical for us as there is no barrier so not safe for our one year old and the paths around the lake are gravel so not good for a pram. The decking areas were not continuous and in front of people’s rooms so didn’t feel accessible either. Basically it wasn’t the holiday I was after so think should be more clarity on the website. Saying all of this the room (three rooms actually) were big and comfortable. I have to say that the response from Mark Mcknight below is not satisfactory. No apology even. Perhaps I didn't state it strongly enough that we could have stayed somewhere that overlooked the lakes for a much more reasonable price. I feel that we were mislead when booking and it actually ruined our stay. Hence 2/5 stars.

Faultless. We had a great time. Came as a family. Lovely swimming pool. Spacious two bedroom apartment. Unbelievable views. Great location.

Good hotel with modern structure and provided with all the services.
It overlooks a delightful pond. If you can choose a room that will be in it.
Restaurant acceptable and above English standards. Its value is that it is in a fantastic area, the Cotswold, and it is 15 minutes from Fairford Air Force Base. Great location for those who attend the annual RIAT.

Lovely clean place. Lovely friendly staff. Room was clean comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. Breakfast was fantastic especially as we sat looking out over the lake. Amazing.

Lovely place, nice size room, but couldn't sleep for the temperature. Breakfast was excellent BUT went to dinner at the boat house, no PINK GIN or any fashionable drinks or fruity wine we looked at the Menu and left. We ate at the Eliott Arms nearby BEAUTIFUL Building and my large mixed grill cost a much as a burger at the BOAT HOUSE. I would stay again but would eat & drink elsewhere.

Beautiful setting, but be warned there in no aircon and the whole hotel inc the guest rooms is unbearable in weather like this! The rooms have 2 x fans, but they are very noisy & dont make any difference at all & we both had an awful nights sleep due to the heat! The rooms and public areas are also a little tatty and could do with a revamp. One member of staff behind the bar was also incredibly pompous and rude, just no need of it at all. All other staff we encountered were fine though. Food in the brasserie was nice, but wasnt very hot when it arrived & drinks are expensive (as expected to be honest). Deffo not a 4 star hotel to me. More of a 3 star at best at the moment! Which is a shame. A few improvements would make a huge difference.

This hotel sucks so much, when it was owned by the 4 pillars there was so much choice on the menu and prices were reasonable and then De Vere took over, ramped up the prices, gave it a lick of paint and now you can literally
Only have a burger for £15 the menu gets reduced every month to the point where you’ll be lucky to get a bag of crisps because they want you in the restaurant so they can charge you even more again. A pint for nearly £6. No air con in the room at all either.

Clean room. Tea and coffee facilities. Hairdryer in room. I had a room with a balcony overlooking some water. 24 hour pantry. Restaurant usual hotel prices. 1 night stay so never used the spa/leisure facilities. Room spacious. Only downside… every time a neighbouring room ran water you could here the pressure. Walls thin. I got woken by phone alarms on both sides of me. Bed comfy for me. No air con in room and yes, here during the heatwave. The chairs outside seem hit and miss to if you get a table. Old wooden chaos could do with a paint… and maybe the arms put back on. Overall, good hotel. Now to try out the conference room.

We are currently staying at the hotel and are very happy with our experience so far. The hotel & deluxe room is everything we hoped for and more — the staff are friendly and efficient. The room is impressive — stunning view over the lake and the food (although on the more expensive side) is lovely. Only disappointment is the availability of the pool — hotel guests can only use it between 7.30am — 9.30am and 5pm — 9pm… if you want to use it in between these times you have to pay £15 each. I don’t remember seeing that when I booked. If u book in for a spa treatment you get to use it free. That said we will definitely be booking a return visit.

Initially I was not happy. There was a refurb going on and our room was not great. So why a 4star rating?. They changed the room, the noise from the refurb died away and the grounds are fantastic. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it's the way a place turns things around that is important and this was done with aplomb. Jake, who dealt with this also really helpful and friendly. I've removed my original review from trip advisor as it would not let me add another or edit. All's well that ends well. So am now happy and enjoying the place.

Friendly staff who were very helpful when my youngest daughter fell over (she said that her elder sister pushed her! ) The food is good and the amenities are very nice. If you want to walk round the lakes it’s recommended to wear waterproof boots as it can be quite muddy. If you can get a room with a view of the lake it’s definitely worth it!

Nice place. Went with a group. The room was clean and good size; but could do with a fridge and ways to turn lights off centrally. Venue is beautiful. Spa treatments were excellent, the spa is nice and had sauna; steam room and jets in the water but very cramped to sit around when there are people around. Breakfast was excellent. Location is on lake good for walks.

We stayed for one night and had a lovely time… our room was very clean and the view from our balcony was just fab… the Spa was nice, but the times for the use of the pool was limited which was a shame… however the breakfast was very nice, as was the lounge bar, reception staff and polite cleaning staff… we ate in the Boathouse which to be honest was a bit pricey with a basic menu and the food came out luke warm… It was busy so put it down to that… would probably drive into Cirencester to eat if I came again though.

Lovely view from room… but, the road noise from nearby dual carriage way destroys the tranquility. Staff in bar and reception are excellent. Breakfast is a scrum and best avoided at weekends unless go early. Rooms are tired and cleaning is below average. Great location for exploring the Cotswold.

Huge complex with hundreds of rooms and suites. Many meeting rooms and conference facilities including ample space for dinning as well. Very clean and tidy with attentive staff albeit slightly impersonal due to the sheer size of the place. Certainly ticks all the boxes as a conference centre or place to gather over night. And set in a water park with wonderful views.

A hotel of contradiction; looks lovely from outside and generally a nice hotel but small details not considered. Some staff friendly. Good parking. Well located to Bath and Cotswolds. Small and busy pool — guests NOT allowed pool access during the day. Here’s an example of the hotel philosophy in action — on requesting poached eggs at breakfast you got served two well poached eggs. If you wanted toast with the poached eggs you had to go to the buffet to toast some bread yourself. It was like the guest is an inconvenience/ an after thought.

Pictures look amazing but in reality nothing really specially. Please be warned even though they state they have a pool the hotel guests can only use it a few hours in the morning and evening, I think they my rent it out the rest of the time. This was really disappointing for us as a family we wanted spend some time in the pool. I would say on whole this hotel is not family orientated and would advise looking at other hotels if you plan a family trip. The breakfast was nice, staff where nice, it was clean. If you just plan to use it as a place to sleep it might be ideal.

We have been given a gift of two nights stay for our anniversary. Very friendly staff at reception. Room is an extremely spacious and very clean Superior double with view of lake. In the summer it would be beautiful to sit outside, for now I have turned the chairs to take advantage of the view. Enjoyed a very good late lunch in The Old Boathouse which I imagine would get very busy in the evening and in the summer, though plenty of room to spill outside. We are looking forward to our stay and using the spa.

We had a fantastic time at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we are in the attached pub and the food was lovely. Beautiful views over the lakes and close to other towns in the Cotswolds. Breakfast was a little dry, but we did go down towards the end of service. The room was lovely and the bed was huge and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

A very large modern 4 star hotel right in the middle of 101 (man-made? ) lakes. Most rooms have lake views which are spectacular any time of year. Not all roons though. Fairly decent restaurant with adequate food not too badly priced. Very nice spa with a pocket sized swimming pool. Staff try hard to please. Overall some sort of paradise for bird watchers and probably families too but best avoided if you are allergic to small children in the morning.

Excellent experience from arriving at the check in desk until we left to come home. Comfortable, spacious, clean room. Lovely food. Friendly inviting staff. I will certainly revisit and recommend.

I was taken here by my other half for a surprise birthday trip. He didn't fail to impress me by picking here. We were greeted by the receptionist Shannan who was extremely helpful and happy — she really started it off too a great start! My partner told her it was my birthday and she was so lovely wishing me a happy birthday — informed us when was the best time to go swimming to avoid the busy times etc. We got to our room to find we had a beautiful view of the lake and there was a play of chocolates with a happy birthday message on! These little touches made it even more perfect! We decided to go swimming which is a must do whilst here as it's relaxing and lovely facilities. We then went for dinner at the old boat house. Amazing food and drinks here! Was lovely that they did cocktails which are a must on a Birthday! We had a lovely sleep and breakfast the next morning over looking the lake was perfect. Cannot fault this hotel and we will be back time and time again I'm sure! Thank you to all the staff for making this a lovely experience.

Such a lovely stay for my 40th birthday. What a fantastic gesture, a birthday card, piece of cake and a lake side view. The staff were super friendly and helpful especially Andrew the concierge, what a lovely man! Food and spa were amazing. My only small gripe would be the small soft bed. I am used to a super king at home so the double felt small. I would recommend to anyone. Thank you all.

The spa was open till 9.30 at night So was good for a late night swim. The bar was good service also, the breakfast was a nice buffet open at 6.30 which was great. The room was a tad cold but for winter and overlooking the lake you can't get any better for such a large hotel. Also spectacular views over the lake.

Lovely setting with relatively helpful staff apart from one chap who needs a customer service course. Food in the restaurant was fine but the service was a little slow. Obviously geared up for large groups or corporate events.

I stayed for a work Christmas party. The starter and desert were really good but the main course and raw vegetables on the side. The leisure facilities however are fantastic. I stayed in a deluxe room and was plesently surprised to find two bottles of cider in the room. It was just shame there was no bottle opener. Colleagues also staying in deluxe rooms had a mix of bottles and openers or nothing at all.

Just had an overnight stay here with my husband for our wedding anniversary and it was great. Our room was beautifully spacious and clean with a fantastic view of the lake. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was provided with tea and coffee facilities, bottled water, biscuits and packets of nuts. Wonderfully hot and powerful shower and extra large bath sheets. Dinner was very tasty and staff were very efficient both at dinner and breakfast the next morning. I agree with other comments about the lounge area not being very comfortable, stains on carpets and general decorating. Overall the stay was fabulous though.

Had a two night spa stay at this hotel with a friend. The rooms were ok though the beds are really comfy. Most rooms overlook the lake which was really nice. The spa facilities were really good. I had an aroma facial which was very relaxing, I just wanted to sleep after. The staff here are super friendly and willing to assist. On our second day we took an hour walk 2.3 miles to the White Hart Inn in Ashton Keynes. The owners of the pub were very friendly and welcoming and the chicken burger was to die for. On the last night we had dinner at the Brasserie restaurant but my friend and I were so full from lunch that we only had starters and dessert. The blueberry and granola cheesecake was the best cheesecake I've had! All in all a very relaxing trip.

Beautiful modern hotel in a stunning location. Rooms are modern and well equipped. The hotel has a good range of conference facilities. However the layout is a little strange and there is a lack of toilets. Food was a little mixed and not all the staff were as helpful as they could have been.

I went here for an employee conference and the place had nice facilities and meeting rooms. Lunch in the restaurant was nice as well. The building could do with some maintenance work but looked nice so long as you didn't look too closely. Lovely views and air conditioned meeting rooms made this a good venue for a conference. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Unfortunately overall we were disappointed with the place from a social/party hosting perspective. Upfront: I didn't use any of the site's spa services and can only comment on the restaurant and bar interms of quality and service. Although there were a couple of standout members of staff who engaged with the group in a positive manner and left a good impression sadly, as a whole, the staffing team were slow and unprepared. The food standard was fairly low, with a few members of the group unable to eat the food. Having heard good reviews previously the expectations were high, but since the company has changed hands the quality has drastically dropped. If you're going here for the food and drink there are many other places to recommend before here. 2*/5

Wow, what an amazing and relaxing day. Would totally recommend, already planning our next visit. Was absolutely spotless, staff very professional and the treatments were out of this world. My skin feels amazing. The relaxation room was wonderful. I just could go on and on but we will definitely be coming back VERY SOON. Thank You x.

The room was nice, had everything you needed. The breakfast was alright, the continental breakfast was lovely, but the cooked was below average, they all had no bacon left each time we checked. The bar is also a bit pricey. However the spa looked lovely.

Attended a work day with dragon boat racing and dinner/disco. Day was well catered for (hot drinks, pastries) and nicely put together event. Rooms were nice and very comfortable beds but we seemed to have a number of spiders in the room (5-6) which probably comes with area being very green near the lakes. Would love to stay again.

Lovely place. Great setting in the Cotswolds Lakes, and really nice accommodation and lovely staff. Best De Vere I've been to. Only reason it's not getting 5* is because you can't take under-2s into the swimming pool… Being able to take our baby swimming was one of the main reasons we booked it.

Quite possibly one of the worst experiences i've had in a hotel. The room we originally booked was taken off us because the hotel determined someone else needed it more. We were told we would get a "same spec" room free as way of apology… however the room given to us was anything but. We were put in a room with disabled facilities only. Not only that, instead of a large bed we had 2 singles thrown together. The room was next to the main toilets for the bar which meant that every time a tap was run, you would hear the water in the pipes. To top it off, the window was also right next to the main walkway from the bar to the garden, so it was constantly noisy. The experience was that bad we checked out at 11pm and drove home. Absolutely disgusted with the whole experience. I want to give a 0 star rating but it appears this isn't possible.

My wife & I have stayed here several times for convenience, we enjoyed the first couple of times however each subsequent stay has been progressively worse. The rooms are ridiculously hot & I can't believe that a 4 star hotel has NO air conditioning. We have experienced a level of incompetence that I wouldn't expect from such a hotel. We dined at the boat house restaurant where I was served raw mussels that literally had chunks of ice on them! Clearly not fresh so microwaved or flash fried, either way I was nearly poisoned. I then ordered the seabass that was no where near fresh & was also sent back to the kitchen. The restaurant manager looked 17yrs old & his inexperienced response was unsatisfactory. Impressive hotel on the face of it, however the staff, quality of food & lack of air conditioning is a major disappointment. In my view this is a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 4 star.

From check in to check out staff provided excellent customer service. On entering the room I was staying I discovered an extra bed had been added, after informing the front desk the bed was removed within 1 1/2 mins. The room was clean, the hotel was very modern and bright, in a picturesque and very accessible location.

Excellent place, whose looking for clam place fresh air, beautiful lakes, you can do your sport walking or running, they have good gym at least pumping out, swimming pool sauna steam massage, rooms is big view super prefect I enjoyed everything. In the town there is very good French restaurant as well fully recommended.

Lovely place to stay. Scenery lovely although it was raining when we arrived so didn't get chance to walk around lake. View from our room great. Breakfast very good hot food and plenty of choice. Reception staff very helpful nothing too much trouble. Only negative was lift was out of order which wasn't too much of a problem as only on first floor but might have been more difficult if had top floors. Thanks would definitely recommend this hotel.

Comfortable and clean hotel, well appointed room however the distance from the carpark may be a issue for older people… otherwise you are just lazy! Bar was quiet… no TV and restaurant next door was a bit exspensive but ok (part of hotel). All staff were friendly.

The rooms are big and clean with beautiful views of the lake it surrounds. The pool is a real treat too if you have time. What knocked it from 4 stars to 3 stars (for me) is that there is no air-conditioning, and it can get very humid around here in summer. There are long wide windows intended to give a panoramic view of the lake, but because the hotel is built in a circle around the lake it is protected from the wind and therefore there is very little breeze even if you do open the little windows to try to cool your room down. Also the hotel is used by businesses for conferences which pretty much take over the entire ground floor when they start and as they get going they take over the first floor too, which lead to you feeling like a little bit of an interloper. Other than that, not bad at all!

There were no sheets or blanket either. After a long hassle to get bedding, I realised there was no way I would get any sleep any way! It was boiling hot (note: por ventilation and no air conditioning in the rooms — plus I was givenue a winter duvet instead of a summer) and someone had The Simpsons on repeat for hours (note: the walls are thin and there are many cracks everywhere). The relatives room looked no better. The rooms need repainting and showers need regrouting. There are also things like shower caddies that need refitting. There is also a nice balcony but it has old wooden furniture and is covered in bird poo. There us hardly any privacy on them and you can easily see the neighbour. It us gard to get the perfect view. In the rooms I noticed a large amount of mosquitoes but it it is next to a lake. Breakfast is ok but very greasy and low quality food. Talking of low quality; the loo roll is the sort you would find a bumper pack of at poundstretcher for £1.99. I shall post another review when I leave.

Talking of low quality; the loo roll is the sort you would find a bumper pack of at poundstretcher for £1.99. I shall post another review when I leave.

Our room at the hotel was excellent, it was spacious and comfortable with lovely views over the lake. The service in the hotel was mixed. We were attending a work social event with around 250 guests that included a site down meal. The plates were brought out and cleared very efficiently and the food was tasty and hot. The problems we experienced were at the bar because one of the managers had accidentally deleted half of the drinks from the system so the staff had to guess prices based on other drinks. We kept getting charged different prices for the same drink so it took a bit of sorting out at reception the following morning. Most people were charging drinks to their rooms, including us, and we found we were charged for some things that we hadn't ordered. The hotel reception were very helpful and removed them for us but it took a while. We would come to the hotel again as I think our experiences were a one off due to the problems with the till system.

Good hotel with plenty of amenities. Check in was smooth and staff very helpful — even took my bag to the room whilst I signed into a business event in the conference rooms. Very clean hotel and spacious. Room was a long walk so beware if you get a high numbered room (I was 463). Ate as part of the event and hot buffet food had a good selection and was tasty. Gym was on the better side of hotel gyms and the spa/pool was great to relax in. A very good hotel not too far from Cirencester so plenty of things to see and do in the local area.

Had a fantastic day at Spa 6. The Spa lunch was fantastic and the facial treatment was so relaxing. Overall a fantastic time and so relaxing.

Far too noisy for the price paid, young children running around like its a play school. Bar staff very poor, rude and seemed like they would rather be working somewhere else. Would not return to this hotel.

What a lovely venue… Shame about the weather… Obviously, it's beyond the control of the old Cotswolds… Regardless twas an amazing experience… Hopefully I'll hit the gym tomorrow before I depart.

Terrible room, stains all over the carpet. Not happy with the standards of the hotel and the breakfast was not the best, very disappointed!

Great value stay. The hotel and rooms were a good standard. Can't comment on the food in the hotel as we ate out. The only negative thing to mention was the corridors were a little noisy in the evening but didn't notice any issues in the night. The location is great and with some great views. Would defiantly stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant service was terrible. We waited 1 hour 5 minutes for our first drinks and food etc. After that took even longer. We felt very neglected and it wasn't even that busy.

Brilliant in the summer when the swans are around and the food in the brasserie is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Had a christmas party in the drake and there was this one staff memeber who was excellent. Constantly working to make our night great I think his name was Sam but yeah he was very good and I had a lovely time.

To echo a previous comment this hotel is simply not a 4* hotel — if you want 4* go somewhere else. We booked a standard room for our wedding anniversary for 3 nights at £100 a night — the room we got you could have been at a Travelodge. Big Sleep or something similar. The only positive was the stunning location — we did have a view over the lake. There were cobwebs in the room, it was very small and the bedding had holes in. Having complained we were advised that the hotel wasn't trying to be a 4* hotel — we compared it to The Four Pillars Tortworth Court and were advised that this was a different type of hotel — quite surprised to find on checking the internet that it was a 4* hotel after all! My husband decided that we would pay to upgrade and haggled them down to an extra £45 a night — we had a suite. This was certainly more like what were expecting, we had a nice big room with a balcony and view. The bathroom was stocked with lovely looking toiletries which were actually really bad — so bad that when we packed to leave we left them there! What really let the bathroom down was the value toilet roll — how can a high class hotel use the cheapest toilet paper about — the kind where you need to use half a roll or your fingers go through?

Hated the stay is an understatement, we recently purchased pet insurance and were give the option of a few free gifts due to sighing up, we chose a free 1 night stay at this particular hotel meals drinks NOT included which was fine, the evening ended up costing us around £100 with the food and drink, I truly believe that he were treated differently due to the fact we had the complementary room and blatantly treated differently to full paying guests during our even meal and morning breakfast, seated and forgot about on both occasions, not offered drinks and the drinks taking 25mins to arrive before dinner after twice ordering them, the food was also extremely salty and inedible, breakfast was the same story. Our compensation from them was for us to rebook with them at a reduced rate "cost to us for there poor and blatant favoritism to full paying customers" a joke really It may have been a one off but they will not be seeing myself or wife and an chain of Four Pillars hotel paying or NON paying again.

A great hotel with very friendly staff who are always willing to help. We stayed in thr self-service apartments which were extremely spacious, well equipped and with a amazing view of the lake. Will not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

If you like hospitals and Travelodges, then this is the place for you. I say this because of the long, feature less corridors to the rooms, with occasional cleaning trolleys gave me a distinctive feeling of being in a hospital — and the rooms only being marginally better than the last time I stayed in a travelodge. On arrival, my chirpy conversation was met without a smile and instead, only a rather grey, dreary check-in process. There's only so much you can do to try and crack a smile out of someone who clearly isn't enjoying their job. The room itself was simply not not a four star room. It's an insult to genuinely 4 star hotels to call it one. The regular double sized bed mattress was very thin, sat on top of two solid divan bed boxes. Only two pillows were on the double bed itself. The walls were thin and you can hear people next door and in the corridor very easily. The room had a single paltry electric heater, so inadequate that an additional standalone heater had been added to the room. The television was a cheap, poor quality flatscreen, the hotel guide book had a few hilarious stock images adorning its cover — showed smiling photos of business men in bedrooms entirely different to that of the hotel. No Wi-Fi in the room. The view from the window was on to a car park — as I expect a majority of the rooms must be, considering the hotels layout.
