Great owner, nothing is too much trouble. The Malthouse is spectacular in so many ways. Great menu, very good value for money, great selection from the bar, attentive and just really nice staff. There really is nothing on a down side at all.

Great room, great hosts and the food was the best!

Very good stay. Staff was helpful, room was clean and pub was open until late which is always a bonus. Really enjoyed my time there.

Meal was adeqate (cavery), very little veg on show, when asked for fresh only one type was produced. Roast potatoes a little dry. Staff very lack lustre, but some were helpful. Good did taste okay though. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but try weren't exactly busy during our visit.

A small village pub/restaurant/hotel with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The car park is a good size but be careful reversing into spaces near the pub entrance as there is a low wall that could catch you out. Rooms are comfortable with the typical facilities you'd expect (kettle, hairdryer, etc). Breakfast had a good selection available but since I'm a typical simple bloke I can only say the full english was good and just the right size portions. I stayed here whilst attending a wedding in nearby Berkley castle. A coded door allows access late into the night which was very useful and the castle is only a short walk away (though this seems a lot longer at the end of the night… more so if alcohol has been involved).

Lovely period building housing a bar/lounge/restaurant and skittle alley. Service was great, beer and food excellent. I had a lovely en suite room. Best of all Sandra made me an early breakfast so I could set off Cycling. Thank you.

This is my second stay at The Malt House, 1st of all Wendy you have made me feel very welcome in your home, my circumstances for this trip were quite stressful my horse having major surgery, not only was I made to feel welcome, Wendy helped arrange transport for me and was there to talk to me. Your staff are very welcoming too. The food was Delicious! My room cosy warm clean and lovely white crisp linen! Nice soft towels and a great assortment of tea coffee and hot chocolate available within your room. Best vegetarian curry I have ever had.

This is our second visit and we were not disappointed first class rooms and brilliant evening meal and breakfast staff very friendly and a good price range also close enough to WWT Slimbridge.

Great Inn lovely rooms which are clean and practical. The food in the restaurant is first class and reasonably priced great for local castle visits and cotteswold walks.

Nice friendly atmosphere and gracious hosts and a very well appointed rooms. Very comfy bed.

Nice local pub. But a bit pricey.

Just finished a 3 night stay and couldn't have asked for better. My room was spotless and my bed was lovely and soft. The staff are so polite and can't do enough for you. The good is also great with generous portion sizes which was much appreciated after a long day. Would certainly return if working in the area again. Thanks!

Went for Sunday lunch. Staff were wrote friendly and the food was tasty. The desserts were a decent size also. Quite yummy. Prices reasonable too. Had a family vibe going in the Sunday…

Best carvery around all fresh produce highly recomended would go every week if I could. Lovely helpful friendly staff great rear parking lovely pub and atmospere.

The Malt House is an excellent hotel based in Gloucester and they provided me with everything I required and more. I was impressed with the quality of everything they offered, including their services, rooms and their food.
