Went for Sunday lunch yesterday, even though we were 20 mins after orders were taken we were still welcomed in, placed out order of beef and pork, which arrived piping hot and bloody gawjus, the owner was so chatty and made us feel so welcome, thank you so much, and we will be back X.

Nice hotel in the country side. Close (20min by car) to the London Stansted airport. Locals are sometimes in the bar, and you can chat while you are drinking in the pub.

A lovely inn in the pretty Essex countryside. The food was excellent and the owner very friendly and helpful. We were there for Mum & Dad’s birthdays and were made to feel special. Definitely recommend it.

Best Sunday roast in the area.

Overall, our party of six for Christmas Day lunch yesterday, enjoyed the experience. A few minor criticisms i. E. No soup spoons for the three diners who’ chosen this starter, no cream or milk served with the coffee, the method of serving the cheese and biscuits needs re-thinking and for three diners who’d chosen a dessert with chocolate sauce, there was none, until requested. The turkey was very good but, I was told the veal and lamb were less good. A couple of fussy eaters amongst us so, difficult to impress them but, some room for improvement here.

Sunday lunch was filling, beautifully cooked, and served promptly. The menu isn't huge, but will definitely contain something for everyone. The pub is welcoming, busy, and landlady very friendly.

My family had food and drinks at the Inn. The food was expensive for what we got. We notice the mayonnaise was out of date, on enquiring about this we were told by the landlady it had been refilled several times. The landlady became very rude and awkward. We will not be going back to the restaurant ever again.

Good beer, convivial host and reasonably priced. Very handy for Stansted airport.

Lovely comfy bed and duvet and great breakfast with best ever bacon. Arrived too late for lunch and had to go to get something in Thaxted where even a sandwich would have filled the gap. Hence 4 not 5 star… sorry. Staff very friendly however.

Amazing food, excellent value lovely place.

This used to be a fantastic pub and I have some happy memories of visiting here as a kid. My grandfather's wake was also held here in 2002 and was a good spread but the last time I ate here for my grandmother's 90th a couple of years ago the service was a bit poor and when I tried to book in for a meal on a Saturday in Summer 2016 the person I spoke to on the phone was so rude I didn't even bother. I ended up arranging to go to the Prince of Wales at Broxted instead.
