Clean and friendly and very comfortable. It says what it is on the tin. Great for business and I will be returning.

Great place to spend a night if you have a heavy nite went pavilion and casino got in at 4am left next day at 2pm instead of 12 noon the owners were fine about it.

Cheap & Cheerful is the best way to describe it. Guy on the desk disappeared as soon as he's given you the key — never could find him after that, despite ringing the desk bell, door bell & phoning the number left on the desk for emergencies. I had the '"compact double with en-suite" compact is right! Was barely enough room for one person, never mind 2! Bathroom was little more than a tiny cupboard — very cramped to sit on the toilet! Tho the shower was excellent — strong force of hot water — I was reluctant to get out. Decor VERY dated, 1970s Holly Hobby style lampshade & scuffed orange walls. One couple were expecting breakfast but they DO NOT serve breakfasts here, even tho it states it does on here. Parking on the frontage, plus a car park round the back. But for £50 a night it was ok — just don't expect the Ritz.

It really is a kinda guest house rather than a hotel. It's clean. That's about it. The person who greeted me checked I had paid then gave me a key and ran off. Parking I was informed was round the side through an alleyway. Not suitable for disabled people like myself. The cleaner is friendly and the best member of staff. But I only saw two members of staff.

Cheap and cheerful. Clean spacious room. Close to the train station and plenty of resturants. Desk staff was excellent.

"Hotel" was very far from the main funfair and town area, you will a car to get around. The housekeeper was very accommodating, but the front of house manager was a great disappointment, we aborted our stay within 5 minutes of entering the building. If you need somewhere to lay your head for 1 night it is great for a quick stop. If you're looking for a fulfilling experience with your family do not go to Wellbeck Hotel Southend-on-sea. Costumer service is non existent.

Worst hotel in town arrogant staff, don't bother trying too email get more joy throwing yourself off the pier.

The only good thing about this place is hot water. No breakfast parking was hard. Got no sleep due to break in at the place and men shouting. Felt unsafe. Got no sleep. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. The other good thing was that it was clean. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Never use this place again.

It’s a nice hotel but there room stings and the service is garbage it doesn’t work it it stinks but very good Wi-Fi.

The review for this place would be minus five if that is at all possible. Thomas screwed me over completely never answering a single one of my emails or calls, me only managing to get through to him after chasing him for a few days. Yet he had the audacity to claim that I had never confirmed my booking for FORTY PEOPLE, he only bothered to tell me this when I called him after waiting and waiting for a reply to my emails to him. Two weeks before my event. After I asked him to email me that he had seen my emails. So that I could confirm!

Nice location. Friendly staff. Other than looking a little old, my stay was very enjoyable. Brilliant price, I must say. Overall worth the money.

I really enjoyed my one night stay my room was clean and welcoming felt right at home. Seaside is not far just down the road the train station is around the corner but can't hear anything. The high street is 5min walk. Great location. Great value for my money. Thank you welbeck.

I stayed here the weekend with my family and it was great didn't expect the rooms to be so lovely infact they where like mini flats thanks to the guy at reception who's name escapes me it was a wonderful experience I Will be back I'm already planning my next stay :-)

Had a last minute event and this was the only hotel we could find. Was charged £120 for a room. Plus vat on top. No breakfast! receptionist was lovely but our room was disgusting. Stained sheets stained towels. Bath room very basic and stunk of damp. There was mould on the ceiling in bathroom. Would never go back even if it was for free.

No staff and no breakfast a big let down.

Excellent value. Good comfortable clean beds. Furniture basic but clean and for the price can't complain.

Great location near all the main tourist attractions and easy access to the train, very friendly and helpful staff, spacious and clean rooms and bathrooms. The Wi-Fi works well. Comfy beds. If you pay extra the balcony view is outstanding. Value for Money.

Amazing venue would return again except for the receptionist who muttered under their breath about how bad the job is.

Very poor sound proof, can hear music playing from a club, can hear exactly what's on TV next door. Not somewhere to go if you need good sleep.

Have been to that hotel for a long while, I only stay at the week ends but the staff are very friendly and very help full, the food is fantastic the rooms are very clean, if there's any thing you need the ladies will help you I would recommend that hotel to any body.

We were in Southend on sea for a funeral, so we spent very little time in the hotel. With that said, it was a lovely roo. It was clean, and quite spacious though the bathroom was very small but we managed. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was great. Cooked well, with plenty on it plus cereals and toast. I must also add that I felt very secure here. As a single parent travelling, that's always a consideration. Fire escapes were very clearly marked, and the hotel was locked up in the evening (each room was given a key to the front). Amenity wise, it's 2 minutes walk from the station and you can see the Pier from the street. Not much was open, but that was expected considering its still winter and off peak. All in all, we had a pleasant experience at this hotel.

Stopped off for two nights, work related. Really good value for money exceeded my expectations for what I payed. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast! Great location right beside the sea, in the town, 2 mins from westcliff station and only a 20 minute walk from southend pier, very easy the find your way here! Ideal for work related stop offs.

Actually really pleased with my stay, really great price for a decent room with an on En suite with a bath! Bed was comfy everything was clean and up to standards, Free TV and Wi-Fi. Bonus Staff were very friendly and helpful, They even have a small guest kitchen with fridge microwave/toaster etc. Over the road from train station 1stop from town centre and the beach is at bottom of the road. Ideal Highly recommend.
