Huge thanks to everyone involved in taking the time to set up the barn for my party last night great service and delicious food as usual xant wait to come back xx.

We were lucky enough to celebrate my baby boys 21st birthday family meal here and it was wonderful. Food was amazing, staff are fabulous couldn’t fault anything. Highly recommended 😁

We came here for lunch today and the food was amazing! We had the chicken and chorizo sandwich with chips. Beautiful flavours in the sandwich and the chips were also seasoned. Lovely atmosphere, lovely decor. The barman was a lovely friendly guy. We will definitely be coming back for dinner and it's nice to see a selection of foods on the menu of choices other than fish. Thank you 😊

The food is lovely, the place has been renovated to a high standard and the staff are very welcoming, I really like it there.

Super fresh cooked food, recommend halloumi fries, had the honey cooked cod was very nice, followed by chirros with chocolate sauce, would definitely come back.

Had a family meal here today for my daughters birthday, 18 of us in total. Food was lovely, service friendly and the atmosphere really relaxed. Will definitely be returning. Thank you 😊

Probably ‘the’ best steak I’ve ever had… and for £8 due to half price on main meals. Staff are lovely, great atmosphere and very welcoming. Already been back 3 times this week and fully taking advantage of the January offer. 😋

Great service and one member of staff called Sam just made the night so much better for me and my friends. She is so polite and just a lovely person. I highly recommend the place.

It’s been our local pub for the last 3 years & has never failed to provide lovely food, drink & friendly service.
Just a short walk away it allows my wife & I to enjoy a well deserved drink after a hectic few days at work.

Me and my friends had the best night here on Saturday celebrating my friends 50th birthday.

Amazing! What a find! So glad we stopped in, Alex is fantastic front of house! The food is incredible — hats off to the chef! and the drinks selection is vast. I can definitely recommend the espresso martini and at 2 for £12 cocktails EVERY DAY you must try! I will be back :)

Typical! Find one of the nicest pubs yet, right as we might head into lockdown. Quiet drink and catch up tonight, but definitely visiting again. Great place, brilliant choice of drinks and love the look of the food and cocktail menu!

We booked the Hare & Hounds on an exclusive basis for a function, the staff were all amazing & we felt incredibly looked after, they managed the COVID restrictions really well & I actually preferred table service! Much nicer than having to queue at the bar The whole team was lovely, but a special Thank you goes to Alex, Lauren & Ollie; Alex & Ollie your personalities make that place what it is, keep being you it’s an amazing environment to be in with you two around Lauren (officially a mind reader), I gave Lauren minimal instructions, provided some of my own decorations & she managed to merge them in a way with her own that transformed the place into a very special looking venue ❤️

Ordered a delivery tonight. Food arrived promptly & was really nice. Thank you.

We just enjoyed a take away Sunday roast dinner and it was absolutely cracking! Arrived on time, really generous portion, still hot, and all home made. My only criticism is that the stuffing was a bit under cooked for my liking, but the whole lot was polished off. Thank you for staying open and catering for home dining in the current climate… we will be making use of your menu more often.

Great food and great atmosphere.

We went to the Halloween Party Event last night and had a great time. We took our little girls and they absolutely loved it! the spooky effort the staff had gone to was exceptional, the pub looked amazing with all the Halloween themed lights and decorations! The live band were great with family friendly music and there was also a free Buffet (which was delicious! ) My kids won a £20 Smyths voucher each for their fancy dress efforts. We are very lucky to have this pub as our local. Fantastic job guys.

Great really enjoyed it, run out of steaks but offered a suitable alternative so couldn't complain.

Went in pretty dejected after a difficult time finding somewhere the family could eat round this way and left sad only that we could not stay longer. Whilst not on the menu they do children's portions that are massive. All four meals were wooed down. My son loved the steak (his best ever) and whilst I can't say the lasagne and garlic bread ciabata was the best thing ever it was most satisfying. Milady thought the fish and chips was very good for a pub too. There was a little disco starting up when we left. The only thing I could say against is four flies buzzing about but it's been a long hot summer so hey ho!

Just had dinner here. Couldn’t fault it. Maybe not the most inviting looking place from the car park but inside it’s lovely and the food was varied and perfectly cooked and the staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back for another meal and will be going to the family fun day tomorrow too.

Tonights experience is hard to top. One (extremely hard working) women running bar and restaurant, was never going to be enough when 12 people had booked tables between 7 and 8. The menu was simple which in itself is not a problem but the execution was below par. The place itself was nice with a good sized beer garden and ample parking. Would not rush back.

We had a wonderful experience here today! I arranged a surprise 40th birthday buffet lunch for family, and everything from quote, booking, varied menu option (including gluten and dairy free), decorations. Right through to the presentation of the food, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, was fantastic. We had plenty of space in a more private area, and staff were very attentive, checking if there was anything we needed and that everything was ok. Everything was so easy, no stress on my part! Totally recommend them and will look forward to arranging our next event with them! Thank you.

Called in one evening for a drink and meal and sat in the garden. Our order for the drinks was taken and delivered quickly. Bar person then took our meal order and we waited & waited for about half an hour, when food was delivered one of the meals had mash instead of Chips. We pointed this out and instead of taking the meal away they left it and came back after 10 mins with a bowl of chips. The chips were soggy when menu stated they where triple fried. In all not what you would expect and not cheap either. Will not be going back to this establishment service was slow and only about 10 persons in the Pub & Garden, looks like they only had 1 bar staff and 1 Chef on duty.

Arrived at 1.45pm and left at 3.20pm. Only basic food but with very expensive prices. Took way over an hour for the food to come out and the jacket potatoes where only just warm. Ordered ice creams with the kids meals and waited over 15 minutes for someone so I could ask for them after their dinner but no one was around. In the end we left without the ice creams with 2 very disappointed boys!

We held a wake for my mother here on 11 May. Although it was only booked a couple of days in advance everything was well done. Everyone commented on how enjoyable the food was. Service was very good and we had a large area to ourselves. I would recommend this venue.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here tonight. (Friday 20th April 2018). Went to The Fat Turk in Brentwood on Wednesday evening and spent £156 for 4 people. Spent £36 in The Hare and Hounds tonight and got much better value for money. The guy who was working the bar and serving the food was so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend eating or drinking here. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Overall our visit to the Hare and Hounds was very disappointing. Drinks were way too overpriced. Starters we all agreed were okay, borderline good. Some mains however were shambolic, two people ordered the same meal but ended up with variances in the veg that came with the meal, which, I might add were also cold. Too much pastry for the steak and ale pudding. Mash tasted as though cooked from frozen as well. Service was poor, food taking ages to reach our table. And when eating nobody came to check if all was in order. When a waiter came to collect our plates one person expressed their dislike of their main, to which the waiter said "Oh" and we never heard anything more from him. Not even an apology at least.

Went here for Sunday lunch and would never return. Waited over an hour and a half for our main course with two hungry young children with other groups of people coming in after us, being served and leaving before we even had our meals. The food was far below expectation with a cold carvery on offer and other meals from the menu not much better. I will say that the wait/bar staff were polite and did apologise for the delay. As for the chef who appeared once we had said we were no longer prepared to wait, he was nothing but rude, did not apologise for the delay, we were simply told that it may take a while as the food is all made fresh. We didn’t bloody order 4 soufflés it was burger and chips! Even after the horrendous wait the food was nothing to rave about and quite frankly the day had already been ruined. And to top it off, we were made to pay full price for the experience! I’m not usually one to expect a reduction in price but considering the service and food was appalled at this and being asked during payment ‘so what was actually the problem? ’ was the last straw. Safe to say we will NOT be returning and would advise others not to waste their time.
