I booked this hotel for 3rd Feb 21 through Hotels. Com so that I could attend my brothers funeral. When I arrived (300 mile drive), the hotel was closed and no one was answering the phone. I have been trying to get my money back for 3 weeks now, but they hotels. Com won't give me my money back as no one at the hotel will respond. This has been an awful experience.

Well,. I needed a little birthday meal treat & here I am. Perfect social distancing. Great attentive service and very relaxing.

Good food great menu and friendly and efficient staff. Would recommend to anyone to try.

Bed was nice and cosy nice quiet location didn't hear a sound from outside 10min walk from beaches and park would stay again the staff were very polite so yeah thumbs up.

Poor customer service and mediocre food. Used to be good. Not now unfortunately.

This second or third time at the Ox. Was there just after opening so can say, it needs tidying up and a bit of refurbing. Saying that staff especially manager were brilliant. Check in and general helpfulness first class. Food evpensive I thought but ok. Location and parking ok. Road outside busy so ask for rooms at rear.

We ate there twice and we had the 8 oz steak which was cooked to perfection on both visits the staff are so very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. We highly recommend this establishment for anybody visiting Poole and send our best wishes to the staff and chef for making our visit so memorable, thank you once again.

Only been a couple of times. A bit pricey but a very nicely decorated place. They also have the OX 2 that you can hire out for parties. Both are cosy looking and you can hire a room for the night. The one I stayed in was lovely. Everything you'd expect to find, massive comfy bed, Tv, tea and coffee making, hairdryer, ensuite with shower, bath and toilet (obviously). Very spacious. It was quite a romantic room actually. There was a glass pain with a shutter blind separating the bedroom from the bathroom. I was on the bed and my wife opened the blinds before getting in the shower. I couldn't see her. But if she was having a poo I'd have seen that as it was right in line with the toilet. Great nights stay. And a nice breakfast in the morning too.

Had a great night in the ox listening to John cotton definitely come back great bar staff great atmosphere jamin looked after us all night thank you for the great night.

We didn't realise Ox had rooms available to stay so were both pleasantly surprised when we conducted a Google search and discovered we could stay so centrally within Ashley Cross. Our twin room was decorated beautifully and in a contemporary modern style. The bathroom had a lovely big walk in shower and huge Fluffy white towels with complementary shower gels, shampoo etc. The room also had a kettle with coffee, tea and Galaxy hot chocolate which came in handy in the morning. The only negatives were that the room was so warm we had to have the window open all night and we had to have the electric fan switched on all night, flocking between the two beds. It was however following the hottest day on record and their heated towel rails were on full heat and their radiators too. The room was also £89 and we didn't get breakfast included for this amount. The room was lovely but a basic breakfast could have been included for that quite high price.

Rooms are very nice — comfortable bed, modern bathroom, quiet. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff and good atmosphere during our stay at The Ox.

Amazing food, fantastic service, all round beautiful venue, highly recommend.

Nicely furnished, nice beer. Small portions. Small chicken leg, no breast or stuffing in Sunday roast. Not enough vegetables. Tardy service, had to ask after each course. No spoons for desert, they brought some when asked, which had to pass around, but not enough to go around.

Lovely room, lovely staff. Stayed for Christmas because no room at in-laws bed was large and comfortable, shower was pleasant.

Room was cold with only 1 radiator in whole of suite, which was only warm to touch at best. Noise from road and draught through windows was horrendous. (No double glazing and the road is very busy all through the night! ) Worst nights sleep I think we've ever had. Pub part is nice though. Wouldn't go back again…

Honestly the best ribs I've ever had! hands down! Pork fell off the bone just by looking at it, perfectly balanced sauce, hand made coleslaw and piping hot sweet potato fries.

The rooms and furniture are beaitiful. Large double bed which was comfortable. Only giving it a 4 star because the expresso in the morning was disgusting. I assume the coffee wasnt freshly ground but a site of this quality shouldnt be serving such poor quality.

Eaten 3 times only. Regularly drink there. Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, inside and out. Shelter outside if raining.

Outwardly just an ordinary town pub. Inwardly modern classic styling dining experience. Good menu offering for lunchtime eating with helpful staff. Surprisingly good.

Nice room and breakfast was tasty. Hot weather so fan provided which was essential over night. Room facing main road which was a bit noisy but didn't really affect me.

The service there was second to none. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and drinks were served accordingly. Lovely atmosphere and brilliant decore. Top notch.

Nice place for evening drinks with a chilled atmosphere and welcoming interior. The OX2 round the back is also very nicely done.

Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there with our family in oct, as 30 years ago we had our wedding reception there the food was excellent, the staff and manager went out of their way to make our evening memorable, well recommended. Mr & mrs didcock.

Really EXCELLENT attitude to customers. Great food, clean and comfy rooms too. Certainly will return again. Special thanks to Judy for looking after us.
