Beautiful building and suntrap garden. Great staff and lovely afternoon tea. Staff and chef were so accommodating and fitted us in with afternoon tea at short notice which was fantastic!

Fantastic meal and service.

Beautiful historic building with very considerate staff. Rather disappointed with the food but maybe suffering with staff shortages as the whole industry seems to be crying out for good chefs. I believe our concerns were taken up with the person who booked.

Was treated to a gorgeous evening here to celebrate my 30th and just found hotel du vin to be a such a beautiful restaurant, amazing food and great service. Would love to go back.

Stayed again last night. No two rooms are alike, not that I’ve discovered yet!
Although we are still unable to dine inside, the covered and heated patio area is spacious and well furnished. We dined with our daughter and partner and two children. The staff were terrific and very attentive. Food and drinks weren’t disappointing. Looking forward to next time.

So much thought had gone into the whole menu and the food was exceptional.

Third visit, first two very very good but this time disappointing. Did their best to make up for the poor quality by discounting two expensive bottles of wine. So fair enough, and will visit again. Anyone can have a bad night.

Elegant and tastefully furnished, this hotel provides a warm and friendly atmosphere. Restaurant staff are welcoming and attentive. Tasty and locally sourced food with seasonal menus to suit all palettes and dietary requirements. I am always made to feel welcome whether attending alone or with family and friends. I highly recommend this hotel.

It always feels special. Well trained and attentive staff. Attended the Conker Gin dinner which was fantastic. Beautifully presented and tasting food and generous portions. Top ups of gin and an interesting and informative talk by Rupert the Conker Gin creator. 10 out of 10. A thoroughly enjoyable evening well worth the price.

Great hotel. All the staff are friendly and the rooms are large with a good bathroom.

Slightly disappointed. It has been a while since we have visited a HdV and found the evening menu a bit lack lustre in choice. Don't get me wrong the food was excellent, just not terribly interesting. The room was wonderful as always. A hearty breakfast is on offer though the portion size is quite large. We had crab and scrambled eggs, delicious and very filling. My partner opted for the open omelette with smoked haddock, this came in a large hot skillet, again very delicious. This is also included in the lunch menu. Perhaps a slightly smaller size would be more appropriate for breakfast.

Excellent. We had our wedding reception there and were delighted with every aspect. A big thank you to all the staff on making our big day go so smoothly.

Always like visiting this hidden gem, whether a cosy retreat in cold weather, or the lovely terrace in warm. Staff very helpful as always & moved a table into the shade for us. Only slight disappointment was the small portion of sea bass I had. I guess the low price was a giveaway but I was hungry so would have been good to be warned.

A lovely Bistro in the open but unfortunately with no views. A bit slow in serving and bringing the food and as we were a party of 8 it would have been better if the tables were oblong rather than round as it meant we couldn't chat easily. 4 people it would be very comfortable. But the food was very nice and lots of choices.

Had a fantastic stay here. It made our first weekend of married life very special. Evening meal was absolutely fantastic, staff were very attentive and our room was lovely. Chilling out on our balcony on a warm, sunny evening brought our day to a perfect end. One small criticism was my breakfast, bacon and black pudding was undercooked. It was busy at the time, just wish it had been noticed. Waitress was very apologetic and I was offered more food. All in all it was a fantastic stay and would definitely come back.

Never been before but recently attended a wedding there. The food, service and whole atmosphere was exceptional. I will definitely visit again.

The Hotel du Vin bistro came highly recommended by several friends so we gave it a try. Overall I would have to say I was disappointed and it didn't meet my expectations. We all went for the 4 course lunch, the food was actually very good but let down by the service, we had to ask several times for water for the table, later we were asked if we wanted more drinks and mine never turned up at all, the main course came out with the meat, but it took too long for the vegetables to arrive. Considering the cost of the meal plus a £19 service charge for what I would class as below average customer service I can only rate this place as average overall.

Really disappointing meal. Been coming regularly for years. Had our wedding reception here. Service and drinks were excellent as usual, but the standard of the food seems to have dropped. Poor for the money. April 2018.

Had afternoon tea at the Hotel Du Vin for our 1st wedding anniversary this afternoon and it was absolutely fantastic. It's a beautiful hotel and the bar and dining room are comfortable and stylish. The service was perfect and the food delicious. Would recommend strongly and will certainly be going back.

So my friend comes to Poole and I send the night with them in the hotel. £175 for the night. Absolutely lovely bathtub big enough for the both of us and inside the bedroom. Plenty of very hot water. Only one of us could see the TV! The walk in shower was big enough for 10 people. Only one large shower head and complimentary black mould on the floor (yuck)! Strange brown stains on toilet seat. Bed huge! Sheets were awful so was the duvet cover. I don't mean the cleanliness, I mean the quality, Travelodge has better!. Only one pair of slippers. You had to keep the wardrobe door open to stop the fridge overheating so it would get cold. In return the Wardrobe door then blocks the room door. Biscuits, sweets, stuff every where and all price tagged! It literally took us half an hour of searching the room to find out the only complimentary things @ £175 per night was soap, shampoo, ear buds, tea and sugar. Coffee was extra! The air conditioner was extremely noisy. Never been in a hotel where the air conditioner in the room made so much noise. We were constantly disturbed by the sound of running water. Like a toilet cistern filling up or someone running a bath. It was almost as though we were right next to the tank room. No idea what was going on above us.

Outstanding. The room was stunning, the service was exemplary. Do include breakfast when you book because it was amazing. We had a fantastic stay, I only wish we had stayed longer.

Upmarket hotel in a series of Georgian Houses joined together, near the harbour. Classic HdV, nice rooms, good service and great atmosphere in the bar and bistro. Food is basic but tasty.

Venue was brilliant and styled really well. Great atmosphere. Just let down slightly by the food we had. It was a set Xmas menu but would go back to try it again. Wine selection was good though!

Just checked in, and not impressed. Photos on website show superior rooms as having a settee for two people. Our room has one single chair. Where is the other person meant to sit? I thought Hotel du Vin was meant to be smart and sophisticated.

Many thanks to all of the team here for making our Christmas stay such a wonderful event. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. A fantastic evening meal and equally excellent breakfast. Many thanks also for the free upgrade it was most appreciated. Top marks for everyone here. Will definitely be back next year!

My husband and I always end up here for dinner to celebrate all our special occasions. We love it so much. The food is excellent, always delicious and the staff is attentive.

Beautiful atmosphere, and nice staff which was almost a huge distraction from the terrible food. I ordered poached cod and was recommended to order greens on the side so I did — when I got it the cod was drowning in a gluggy tasteless sauce with a small amount of potatoes there were no green to balance it out and the quality of the dish was very disappointing… when I walked and saw the menu I was expecting to be wowed, but the only wow factor I got out of the experience was the price, I could have got an equally or better quality meal for half the price. Afterward I Realized that there were plenty of gorgeous little well priced restaurants in the area with beautiful looking high quality looking meals.

One night stay, excellent. Well done, Hotel Du Vin at Poole, we only booked for a one night stay, before travelling on to the Channel Islands the next morning, Absolutely brilliant from start to finish, The room was super luxurious, with all the trimmings too, from a well stocked mini bar to fluffy slippers and a super soft bath rob for us both, after relaxing in the roll top bath or using the monsoon shower, The tea and coffee making facilities were very good, as was the fresh milk, so nice to have a fresh cuppa when one gets up :-) The staff were all most courteous throughout our stay, even though it was short. The hotel is ideally placed near to the vibrant centre of Poole itself, with just a short walk to the numerous shops and restaurants, There is parking on-site but, this can fill up quickly during the busier periods, although we had no problem in finding a space, and at ten pounds it was well worth it.

Very disappointing, booked this hotel as a treat but it didn't feel like one. Paid the extra money for an executive room, with a monsoon shower and double bath, I have to say it wasn't worth it. The bedroom wouldn't look out of place at a budget hotel, a big hamper of snacks that took up the whole bedside table, non of which were complimentary. Had to pay £10 a night to park my car a good 5-10min walk away from the hotel in a horrible multi-storey car park. This brought the price of a 2 night stay up to almost £400, without breakfast, room only! Not at all the boutique or luxury experience this hotel seems to suggest it offers.

Dined at the bistro. This is a special place with interesting menu choices and a fabulous wine selection. Service from the staff couldn't be faulted. Can't comment on prices (as it wasn't me who paid). Excellent!

Lovely room. Clean and tidy. Helpful friendly staff and substantial breakfast before we left for our journey to France. Will definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Was made to feel very special when my husband and I enjoyed afternoon drinks. Will definitely visit again. I would recommend anyone wishing some quiet relaxing time in comfortable surroundings to call.

I visited the Hotel du Vin with my family to celebrate the 50th anniversary of my Grandparents. Before the meal we were taken into a private room to have a drink for a while, the staff were on hand immediately to offer drinks to celebrate and also to take orders for the children. After this we were taken to another room to be seated for the meal, all of us had already ordered so once we were seated the food began being served. The food was all delicious and was quickly eaten by all. The service provided by the staff was brilliant and were quick to offer a refill of any drinks as well as making sure everything was fine with absolutely anything.

Absolutely wonderful. Best four course Sunday dinner I have ever had and very reasonably priced. They table service excellent and the restaurant is clean, tidy and well kept. Would highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again.

Who is doing what.? Stayed overnight recently having booked through an online agency but had to pay directly on arrival. Paid by Visa no problem. One week later checked my bank account online and saw that an additional charge for £30 had been taken by the hotel. Called the Manager to enquire the charge who stated it was for the room mini bar as the room service staff had stated the bar had been used. Now I dont know who had taken the booze,? but it wasnt me or my partner as we are both teetotal and didnt even know there was a mini bar. The Manager refunded my money without question right away which was ideal… Im unsure of what happened in this case but had I not checked my online bank account I would have been deprived of £30. … just saying.

Only ate here, but with their prix fixe menu which is fantastic value. Two separate visits, different menu choices, excellent each time. Very professional and friendly staff, lovely decor, just really good in a lot of ways.

The staff seemed always happy to help. The room was sparsely furnished with only a small writing desk and lacked anywhere comfy to sit, although that's not too much of a problem as there's plenty of room in the very well stocked lounge bar. The ensuite was luxurious with roll-top bath and walk-in drench shower. The location is great for visiting the Quay area with its variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot food from the kitchen and the usual cereals / yoghurt / fruit / pastries available too. I was woken early by light goods traffic on the road outside, but otherwise an excellent stay.

I have been in Poole many many times, but my last visit I will remember. Faultless, great value for money! Would come back and recommend this place to everyone I know! Tasty food… yummy.

They used dishonest tricks to charge more.

Expensive? Maybe. But you get what you pay for. Fantastic service and food.
