Thanks to the lovely staff today for helping to make my mothers 80th birthday lunch so enjoyable. We all had an amazing afternoon 😊

We had a lovely meal here in the first floor restaurant which is less busy and more relaxed than the ground floor bar. All the food was great including the roast dinner. Service too was nice and friendly.

We have just been for a 2 night stay to celebrate my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary. We have been blown away with this place. The staff have been so friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is incredible. The room we stayed In was amazing and spotless. Breakfast was fantastic both mornings It's a beautiful place to spend time in and we want to thank all staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We fully recommend and can't wait to visit again.

Ordered a vegetarian roast and was asked if I wanted to get a side of pigs in blankets. I thought it an odd offer but just said no. My meal came and I asked for more veggie gravy, the girl looked confused and said 'you want gravy'my friend thought she'd misunderstood so specified veggie gravy. It came out and I poured some on and it looked different to what I had on my plate. I thought maybe it was just a different batch. I ate some but didn't finish my meal. I was sure it was meat gravy so just mentioned it to the manager as a heads up. He didn't seem very interested. He said he would check with the kitchen and then didn't. I've been feeling quite poorly since and I'm now sure that the gravy had meat in it. Its a real shame and I know mistakes happen but it would have been nice if they had acknowledged the mistake and apologised!

1st time in Dorchester, pleased we picked this spot. A very classy joint. Staff are lovely. Definately will return, didn’t eat but the cocktails (Long Island iced tea) are lovely.

We ha e just returned from our 6th. Is it staff are lovely decor and atmosphere fabulous and rooms are absolutely delightful. Lovely location and so close to many places including Weymouth, Poole, Sandbanks and many more.

We stayed here for the first time on Saturday evening, we were both really impressed with the hotel, Gorgeous building, decor inside beautiful, staff were friendly and helpful. The General manager was informative, friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely very spacious, huge bed, only slight thing not enough light at the dressing table and mirror when doing makeup. We had a meal in the evening again staff great, food lovely we had a lovely evening.
Breakfast was good, although eggs tasteless but not a big issue. We would recommend this hotel and we will most certainly be back again.
Poundbury is great, reminds us of a UK Celebration in Florida.

Nice pub, had finished our drinks by the time these triple cooked chips finally turned up, can’t imagine these being served to royalty.

By far the best Inn we have ever stayed in. Impressive, spacious and oozes charm and character. All staff exceptionally polite, the food was great. Breakfast options were unique and well thought out. the room was spacious, quiet and extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean throughout. great location with a fabulous Spa next door and the pavillion theatre. No trouble parking in Poundbury. Such a unique area. highly recommend. Will definitely go back without any hesitation. It will take a lot to beat it and good value for money.

Absolutely awesome place, old but modern of that makes sense! Rooms were excellent, had a great weekend there. Bar closes far too early.

Very nice done new hotel on strange new fantasmal town outside Dorchester. Nice bar, beautiful and comfortable rooms. A pleasant surprise.

Looking at pictures of this hotel I really thought we were going to stay in a rundown Georgian era hotel, how wrong I was, it was only built about a year ago. It as all modern amenities, the breakfast was excellent, the staff attentive. Defiantly worth a stay and to use as a base to explore Poundbury.

Really quality pub/restaurant. I would definitely recommend eating here if you're stopping by Poundbury. I was in love with the aesthetic, the design is fantastic and it has a lovely atmosphere. The food was wonderful, and just what you'd expect from an establishment of that quality. The service was relatively quick and the staff were very nice, and willing to answer questions. Overall it is a lovely eatery.

It's located in the new development area of Dorchester. The hotel is only 2 years old. Lovely building and interior. It's very posh. I'll come here again.

The appearance outside and inside is very impressive. On entering, it was busy downstairs and there were no tables available in the bar area but we were greeted with a smile and told we could use the first floor area. We just wanted a quick drink and lunch. We ordered a crispy bacon BLT and a flatbread with chorizo etc. After over half an hour of waiting, there was no sign. We had places to be and were concerned we'd been forgotten so queried our order. Were told ours was next… There were other people who ordered after us, who had theirs before us. I've no idea why it took so long, as they were just "quick" bites, and my bacon was certainly not crispy. It was cooked but the fat still white. Being my first visit to this new pub in "Charlieland", I wanted to be impressed. The decor, yes. The service, no.

Good coffee However first time we went the food came out cold twice and the second time we came here we ordered sausage and mash and the sausage came with chips but over all really nice venue.

A beautiful pub with excellent food, the staff were very helpful and polite. My only complaint was to see all the plants dead, a little water is all they needed each week to have survived. The pub itself is stunning inside and out. Highly recommend a visit.

Wonderful setting. Exceptional building. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good was good however the bread for our ploughmans we felt was stale.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Duchess of Cornwall after our wedding. The decoration and attention to detail is lovely — both in the rooms and in the dining area / bar. The breakfasts we had were also really great — lovely that the cooked breakfast is ordered fresh instead of a buffet. We couldn't recommend this highly enough — a real top-quality hotel! We look forward to coming back in the future. Thank you again for everything!

The location was very pleasant and elegant with good facilities. However, the staff were snooty and had no knowledge of the contents of their own allergy book. Almost all of the (very few) dishes on the menu that would have been milk free were not available due to poor order planning (very many other dishes were also unavailable). There was no offer to put something alternative together for my partner. I had a steak and that was barely more than tepid. During the meal the fire alarm went off. That in itself was no problem. What really mattereed was the staff appeared apathetic. There was no communiction or reassurance from any member of staff during or after it finished. I shall not be going back. In fact, the only reason I stayed was because I was with a large group. Had I not been, I would have walked out. I have had a much more pleasant experience at many simple cafes and pubs.

I have visited this pub over the last month twice a week and I think staff morale was not great (no smiles only sighs, no eye contact and looking overworked and undervalued) but WOW today amazing much thanks to the waitress with the braided head band she was fantastic in fact the whole atmosphere had changed. Hall and Woodhouse please keep hold of good staff and treat them accordingly.

Lovely oub, great beers and lovely coffee. They do a fairly good range of lunch time and evening meals and the prices are fairly reasonable. Great staff and very friendly atmosphere. Children and dogs welcome.

We stayed at the Duchess of Cornwall for 2 nights and the service we had was fantastic! The staff were genuinely interested in us and as we saw the same people each day, got to know us. The room was really lovely with some nice touches that made it feel like a special stay. After we had checked out, we realised halfway home that we’d left a coat in the room and when we called them to check they happily sent it back to us carefully packaged within a couple of days! All in all, would definitely recommend a stay there.

Dining room is very dark, ten minutes after arrival, the lights are dimmed further.
First (23 quid) fillet steak arrived under cooked and so tough it was almost impossible to cut. The replacement twenty minutes later was wonderful.
Shame the generic plates didn’t sit flat on the table. Totally unsuitable for any meal.
Sea bass was lovely, although a bit of a spartan meal.
In summary, food ok, room dark and gloomy. Staff attentive.

Stopped here for lunch on Tuesday 5 September and had very tasty chicken and bacon Caesar salad. It was the first time visiting Poundbury and it's a very unusual and interesting place. It was raining and the Duchess of Cornwall Inn provided a good resting place for lunch. Full of beautiful and different wood throughout the interior. We will be back when we are in the area again.
