Let’s not kid ourselves here — the food and service is good. Lovely play area, great outside seating and a good sized bar with lots of seats inside. Great selection of drinks and a very traditional menu. The prices are very very high. £60 for a meal for two adults and two children is just too much. The food is nice, but it’s not that nice. Staff — excellent!

Good food, smaller portions available on some dishes. Very pleasant staff and nice garden. Well worth a visit.

Very clean rooms with modern on suit bathrooms, staff were wonderful and make you feel very welcome. Perfect quaint location for touring Dorset, would book again :o)

This is a very friendly pub, staff are very helpful We had the Sunday roast and it was perfectly cooked all fresh vegetable and nicely presented. The photos shows this sorry I start before taking a picture. The Restaurant is also just being extended with a really nice eating room. Even the coffee has a touch of class with milk in a very nice jug as you can see.

Great selection of beers and a proper cider o draught. Sadly, only popped in for a quick refreshment on a hot day but would gladly return.

Absolutely shocking cold room! Food not cooked properly so couldn't even eat after a hard day's work after waiting a hour for the food in the first place and not even replaced would not recommend this place to anyone! Will definitely not be back here!

Amazing staff. When we mentioned we couldn't make it for breakfast, as we were leaving early, they made us a pack lunch. Mint!

Excellent atmosphere. We were lucky we stopped by here this bank holiday weekend where they had the Bike show with Live music and BBQ along with Beer and Cider festival all at one place. BBQ was amazing, the best was their Vanilla sponge cake topped with home made Strawberry jam along with warm custard. Best dessert so far absolutley lovely.

Seems to be a warm and friendly local and being only across the road, Jean and I will be popping in when down at the cottage.

This is s great little place to stay just outside Dorchester. Perfectly placed for walking the Dorset Ridgeway. Our twin room was spotlessly clean and our evening meal very good indeed. There is a nice mix of locals and holiday makers. Not been spoiled by over the top flashy refurbishment, very friendly atmosphere. Nice play area for children outside and good sized car park. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Great menu. Fantastic kiddies area. Good selection of beers and cider.

Good pint of Guinness. Pool table is spot on too. Good bunch of people. You can vape in the case of being considerate towards guests. For people with children there is a huge play area and good seating for the adults plus it's a nice sun trap.

Rooms were modern and clean. Very clean. Food was great, good beers too. Take earplugs if you don't like being woken up by traffic. Super accommodating people and a wonderful stay!
