Excellent meal, friendly staff.

We have been going past this place on lockdown and made a promise to try it once it is open. Didn't disappoint. Great weather afforded outside seating heaven. The view is amazing. Amazing food too! Good selection of food and drinks. Will definitely have my birthday lunch here!

The one place you can go and never be disappointed, the food is just amazing, the staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is chilled. And if the skies are clear, you will be treated to some stunning sunsets!

This out of the way pub has amazing ensuite rooms and excellent food at a reasonable price. Staff were attentive and friendly. Cider selection was good, real ales could have been better. A good pub with nice rooms and excllexce food.

Excellent hosts for BnB and pub experience. Breakfast is a must as the qualify is fantastic. Hosts have great knowledge of local area. Be sure to check about taxis if travelling about as not straight forward.

Food fantastic. Especially the carvery. Great outside space the view is outstanding. Could do with more staff on bar as waited quite a while to be served by the only bar person.

Came here for a drink after a funeral up the road. Looks nice inside, if a bit cramped in bar part. Has a restaurant nxt to bar. Menu looked ok, not ur usual foods. Nice big play area (Wendy house and goal posts). Some nice and different ciders and ales. Would I visit again. Yes if in area.

Booked a Saturday evening at Winyards Gap. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome.
The room was immaculate as was the ensuite. Really lovely touch was a flask of cold milk to have with coffee in the morning.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good and we were made to feel very welcome.
Breakfast was served with stunning views across Dorset countryside, we shall definitely return.

We had dinner here for two nights in a row and one of those was my birthday. The beer garden is in the front with a stunning view specially at sunset. Food is great, tasty burger and also the chicken supreme was delicious. Good beers and friendly atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

Not very good beer sadly, think the pipes need cleaning more often, both beer were OFF, shame good menu, food excellent, views outstanding.

I stayed here on business last night. I was made to feel really welcome. The room was excellent. I later had an evening meal in the pub and it was lovely. Great nights sleep, great breakfast in the morning and was in good form for business in the morning. Thank you for good food, great room, and very friendly staff.

Views are amazing from the garden. Food is good. Unfortunately not a large selection of vegetarian food but well cooked.

Incredible, far reaching views over beautiful England with lots of parking. This is a fine pub with good food and local beers.

Our walking group had Christmas lunch at the pub yesterday. We had a lovely time with good food, excellent service and great value for money. The venue and lunch for our 28 walkers was perfect. Would highly recommend.

We went here for my dad's birthday and we all were really glad we did. The food was amazing. They also have some fantastic views for the summer and an excellent range of ciders.

Really lovely room with plenty of space and storage. Very comfy bed. Smart bathroom. Good choice for breakfast — cooked, continental and cereals. Had a lovely meal one night and decent sandwiches one lunchtime. I would definitely recommend as a place to stay.

We were so impressed with the newly built en-suite cabin rooms separate from and behind the pub. The design was most attractive and everything, including bathroom was built to the highest spec. The owners were such a lovely couple. The views over the countryside and the sunsets are spectacular!

Fabulous position, lovely views, excellent food and staff could not have been more helpful.

We stayed for the Saturday night in one of their lodges. Really nice room which was pretty much brand new. Loved the gadgets, it has a nice coffee machine in the room and a remote controlled velux window. Underfloor heating and a lovely bathroom with a powerful shower. Food in the pub was nice and hosts are friendly.

Stopped in on our way through, why have we not done this before? Stunning views, lovely pub with really friendly staff who are attentive but not suffocating, the menu was excellent, the calves liver (cooked pink but you are asked if you would prefer well done) was tender, succulent and beautifully complemented by the well cooked sides — perfectly cooked Spring vegetables and a delicious jus, my partner had the duck with a cheddar and potato cake — unusual but delicious. I don't eat dessert but the coffee was good and served with a square of a home made raisin and white chocolate confection. There is a good selection of fish dishes on the specials board and the ploughmans did sound very good, must go back and give that a try another day. There is an interesting looking walk behind the pub which is signposted to take you to a war memorial, think we will be doing that in the near future. Definitely would recommend this pub, both location and the food.

Great place to stay. Modern rooms with great en-suite bathrooms. Food was really good but pub doesn't open til a little later than I would like. Had to wait after a long drive before they let us in to our room. Otherwise it's excellent.

Great rooms. Nespresso with aerochino. Excellent shower and toiletries. Good quality sheets. Tv. Remote control velux. Very happy.

This used to be the pub sadley you wait ages to be served even when the pub has only a few customers landlord on wrong side of bar … oh dear!

Warm friendly pub. Carvery food excellent. Great views from the big garden, and plenty of space for kids to run around (outside). Possibly a skittles alley but not sure. Very enjoyable visit! Take care with traffic when driving out.

Warm welcome, good service, well kept beers, good food, magnificent view — but only a realistic 7/10.
