I wouldn't bother. Best thing about it is location but lots of negatives

Gillian M. N.

For the price this hotel was disappointing. Though it was in a good location the parking was very limited which caused some problems. We had to keep asking for milk and toilet rolls as thing were not replaced. One day our room was not cleaned or the beds made. On one occasion I was served uncooked cold vegi sausages with my breakfast. The staff were very polite though and did their best. We would not return to this hotel.

Very helpful polite staff. Great hotel on a budget. Comfortable clean rooms. Free WIFI

James M.

Good value for money and the staff were fantastic. However the hotel was badly in need of modernisation and lacked facilities. Parking was also very difficult. The location however was fantastic, a few minutes walk to the beach, 10 mins from city centre and also had a convenience store across the road, handy for beach supplies. I would however return, as it was very good value for money and the staff were excellent. Especially the girl at reception / breakfast. Drops a couple of stars for being out of date, no facilities and parking issues.

Very close the beach and shopping center. Limited car parking on premises and on street - because of that we didn't move our car until on the day we left - we stayed for two nights. Staff were very polite and do seem to be interested in you as a customer. Rooms are functional and adequate and I would say very clean. Room was also well serviced in time before we got back. We were happy that we needn't asked for a hairdryer from the front desk like a lot of other hotels. Only problem was we were given a room facing the main street and we were often woken up in the middle of the night when cars and bikes were revving past. Fair service for the price we paid. Would consider staying at TravelRest again when we next visit Bournemouth.

Really nice staff, average cleaning and not too bad Wi-Fi signal. I enjoyed my stay.

Well I suppose you get what you pay for. Hotel is tired and dated with lots of stairs to the rooms. Rooms had carpets with burn marks, holes in the cutains… Still the beds were comfy and the TV remote worked. Breakfast that was extra wasn't too bad but had been kept warm a long time waiting or customers. Coffee was fowl. All in all 5 out of 10

Cheap n chearful. Good location. Small rooms. Nice breakfast at good price. Bar. Clean & friendly.

This hotel is a great place to stay. I originally booked for three nights and liked it so much that I decided to book another night. My room number 20 was clean tidy and had a DVD player built into the TV. This was great and is only the second hotel where I have stayed that had this facility. The bathroom was a good size. I was also happy with the onsite parking but because of the Easter holiday it was quite busy and I was not always able to park on site. However there were spaces nearby. It's all free parking so can't grumble. I cannot fault this hotel in any way. I am very happy and would definitely stay here again if I was in Bournemouth. Breakfast was good. Not sure why so many people are saying the hotel is dated and the floor boards are noisy. It's an old building. What do you expect?. Your not sleeping on the stairs so why would that matter. I like old buildings. If the hotel was to be painted the manager would probably have to close the business for one week or more for those works to be carried out. It's not that bad come on stop giving him such a hard time. The manager and his team are doing a fantastic job. They are all very hospitable and made me feel so welcome which I really appreciated. Keep up the good work. A very special thank you to Ian the Manager. Review from Mr Karim Bhawan Room 20. 27/03/2018-2/04/2018

Location is great and it has a nice big bar. Staff are pleasant too. Prices vary from night to night. Rooms are very small, there's barely enough room for a bed. Cleaning isn't too good but it wasn't too bad. There was a cobweb hammock above the toilet for the 2 days I was there. The walls are paper thin. You can hear whole conversations in the next room. My bathroom and shower were nice and big though. And there was free parking at the front. It's nice and close to the beach and the town centre.

Fare was cheep and restaurant was good. Very old building and plain colours, nothing special to look at. Room was alright but the flooring looked like it was installed when the Titanic was launched. Major downside was that the shower was directly connected to the sink so if someone was using the sink while someone was using the shower they either freeze or get scalded

It’s not too bad … Stayed here with my sister whilst we were visiting family in Bournemouth. We got 2 single rooms however there was a mix up with the booking upon checking in and my sister got a double room for free! My room was small (expected) but the bathroom was so tiny — you could barely move. Whilst you sat on the toilet your knees touched the sink! The shower was more of a trickle — I did let the staff know there must be something wrong with it but she said there were no other rooms for me to move in to. The bed was rather comfortable and the room was clean — just a couple of stains on the carpet but it did seem rather old. The hotel is quite dated and could do with some upgrading — it’s very difficult to navigate and it’s a bit of a maze inside with different staircases around the building. I would recommend getting there early because parking can be a bit of a nightmare! We had to ask the staff to move a bollard in the car park because we had driven round for a while and couldn’t find anywhere else to park. It’s very cheap — you pay for what you get. I would probably stay here again even if it just had a lick of paint or something.

Very good value for price. Definitely would come back. It's a budget friendly place and quite comfortable. Friendly staff and clean rooms. It's not posh but its very nice, cheap and great location. Its a very good deal if you wanna be comfy and happy and not splash out too much money. The prices are great. Really recommend.

Room too small for a double bed. Mattress lumpy and twangy. When booking, asked for a ground floor or near the lift. We were not informed that there were no ground floor rooms and there was no lift. Room was clean and staff pleasant. I do not recommend this hotel even as a budget hotel.

Avoid! wouldnt even give this place 1 star. booked 2 rooms for 1 night one of the rooms was fine however the other was disgusting. Reception was poor and had to wait a while to be served. Curtains covered in dirt and smelt like damp. Found a bed bug trap under my bed which was a bit disturbing. Reported it to the operations manager who basically called me a liar and that he couldn't do anything about my uncomfortable nights sleep so he advised me to contact the customer care team who hasn't even bothered to respond. Yes the hotel is cheap but for a reason. However the women and the night receptionist was very lovely and polite.

Linda F.

Yes it's cheap, but you get great service, and immaculately clean room and a great value breakfast.

Sophie I.

The hotel was good enough for a night's stay. We were given a twin room rather than the double room we were told we had. The bathroom was very small, and the shower wall had a lot of hair stuck to it so hasn't been cleaned properly before we got there. It wasn't dirty though, and the beds were comfy

Gareth H.

We stayed for 4 nights room only. Had breakfast one of the days, decent food for the price. Parking was limited considering its now peak season. Rooms were a title too cosy and the shower was barely a trickle. Bar had limited options and was pricey.

Davina M.

Staff were nice. We were only 100yards from the sea which for the price was brilliant. Very good value. Comfortable room.

William T.

Was decent size room and a very good price for when we stayed. Also gave us a refund when I had to leave a day early due to me breaking my leg which I was a present surprise. The only reason I can't give 5 Stars was when we was leaving and I was in my crutches we asked the male cleaner to help take our suitcase donw I small flight of stairs to which we refused and then may as well throw this down. But the other staff were great.

Amadeo D. C.

Very well. Comfortable and Prosimiter of the beach

Simon T.

Cheap room only deals. Room small but adequate. Free parking.

Betty M.

In need of total refurbishment… Best thing about it where it is convenient to everything

Yunus K.

Not good You either get a good room with a terrible bathroom or a terrible bathroom with and ok room

Gary C.

A good value, no frills hotel. Was attending a wedding in the Bournemouth area. TravelRest offered 24 hour reception, a variety of rooms, a reasonable breakfast, and helpful staff. The rooms were small ans clean but worn, tired, and a few aged smoking smells from a bygone era. My shower worked fine but a lot of the guests reported scalding temperatures that couldn't be adjusted. If you're looking for a budget stay it's a place where you get what you pay for and don't expect much.

Neil R.

For the price the room was OK. Bed was comfy. But a frosted glass. Door on the. Toilet was very poor

Scott S.

Great cheap alternative to Travelodge. Within walking distance of the BIC and beach and has free parking contrary to their own website. Basic room and the bed was far too soft for my liking but for £30 per room, per night you can't complain.

Georgina D.

We stayed for 2 nights in February. From reading the reviews on tripadvisor we were worried but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and the location was excellent. However the room was boiling hot when we first got there as the heating was on full blast, the bathroom floor was very squeaky and there was no where to park. Was a really good visit overall. Thank you for a good weekend away!

Jenniferth A.

We booked two rooms for the weekend, both rooms nice size and clean. Good location. Staff were friendly. However showering was a problem; on the first day the water was a scolding hot and on the second day water was non existent. The double was bed was very comfortable but the one of the single beds the springs were very prominent — could not get comfortable. We were woken up by noisy, drunk guests and 2 am who continued till 3am Cooked breakfast was ok, but one in our party only had a coffee but we were still charged the full £6. 50 each.

Mandy H.

I am only stayed one night at this hotel but I found a staff amazing the room was very clean and tidy and the shower room was extremely clean I stayed for breakfast in the morning and it was excellent everything was perfectly cooked and there was a cold buffet breakfast as well I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Bournemouth with Libby overnight Or a few days.

Wayne F.

Cheap, no frills, typical coastal hotel. Didn't try the food.

Jordan D.

Barely any parking and mediocure breakfast. Decent enough room for the price but it was pretty small. Would say its good value for the money but there's better out there. The shower was as powerful as standing under a bulldogs chin but did have a good nights sleep. Friendly service and great location. Free Wi-Fi is also a bonus. Everything else I have to say was great.

Angie B.

We have had a great weekend stay. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. Thankyou.

Murray L.

Good hotel. A few niggly things such as the bathroom door not locking and the staff not always appearing overly pleasant but the room we had was nice, very well cleaned and had was a good size. However, we saw another room, which was tiny. And our bathroom was tiny. So realistically this is only a good hotel for a couple of days and no more if you are travelling as a couple or alone. Stayed in November 2015

J S.

It's really close to the pier and I had a recently refurbished room which was large and comfy, I would definitely stay here again.

Tom B.

Basic but clean, with friendly staff. A good budget option for central Bournemouth.

Till H. H.

It looks worn from the outside, but our room was actually quite okay. A little cramped, but just fine, if all you do in there is sleeping and washing up. The location is great; you can reach beach and pier in 5 to 10 minutes.

Carrie-lee K.

My family stayed at the Travel Rest May 2015. It was shocking! The room we got was dated, the lamp shades were falling apart and had stains on it, I found black hairs on my pillow, the bathroom was run down and grubby shower did not work properly and the staff were not friendly! The only positive I have for this hotel is the breakfast lady is amazing. She was so good with my kids and friendly. The breakfast was lovely too.

Marta N.

Very nice place to stay, clean room and bathroom with a shower, bery close to the beach, helpful staff. We had great weekend in Bournemouth.

Luca M.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. I had the room facing the street with a large octagonal window. The room was very clean and functional, perhaps a little small but habitable, the only sour note in my opinion was the carpet, but honestly it looked clean. The staff seemed attentive to our needs. I did not eat at the hotel so I express myself on the kitchen.

Janie S.

I know this is a budget hotel, but the room we were given was no bigger than a box. The shower was weird, it sort of pumped the water out in gushes, but I did manage to get wet! The hotel offers private parking with no reservation required, but there were no spaces available and no off street parking anywhere. I ended up on double yellow lines out of sheer desperation. The reception clerk did not seem to care. All in all, not a pleasant experience.

Daniel V.

We stayed at the TravelRest in Bournemouth for 1 night on 31 October 2013 and booked for 2 adults and 2 children in the same room. Upon arrival we were able to park on the hotel car park with places still available for other guests. The receptionist was very helpful and she booked us in straight away with no problems into room 33. We had been warned not to expect too much of the room and reading other reviews were a little apprehensive as to what we would find there, well what a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and a good size enough for our needs and the bathroom was very clean and again a good size with a shower. There was a small wardrobe with a sliding mirror front which was ample for our needs, coffee and tea facilities supplied and flat screen TV if you need it. All in all a very pleasant stay and we shall certainly use again. Thank you TravelRest.

Russell J M.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, room was great.

Mr D Davison (Electrician) Stayed from 22/9/2010 till 4/10/2010 The first three nights I was bitten all over my shoulders and arms. I found three or four bugs on my pillow and took then down to reception the girl that was on said she would give me another room and notify the owner. When I came in from work I had a word with the owner who said he had called someone in to deal with it and put me in another room, then another room. When I came to leave I was expecting some sort of compensation by means of less to pay but was charged the full amount. The man clearly think more about money than people.

Always recieve a warm and friendly welcome. Staff are always pollite and helpful. Excellent location, just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the town centre. Good value. Rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space and are clean, all rooms are en suite. The food is always excellent and plentiful with a large menu selection. A reliable, family owned and run hotel, stayed here for many years without any problems.
