Beautiful Christmas Eve breakfast, delicious food and great selection. Can not believe it was quiet!

Lovely afternoon tea with my sisters. Beautiful surroundings, food was delicious, staff were friendly & helpful. Can’t wait to visit again.

The food is delicious and staff very friendly.

We were the first guests with a dog to stay in this lovely hotel. Great walks in the grounds for him and great service and food for us. Comfortable, recently refurbished room. Only the top floor basic rooms available for dog guests but hopefully they might open up some of the more luxurious rooms and suites in the future.

We went for Afternoon Cream Tea today to celebrate my parents 49th Wedding Anniversary.
Although the food was very nice, the service was absolutely appalling, so painfully slow, it took staff 15 minutes to even show us a menu, food finally arrived 40 minutes after being seated, then we even had to ask for plates to eat the food off!
Incredibly dissapointing!

Amazing cream tea, great value for money, beautiful scenery and service, truly spoilt.

Recently had a fabulous Sunday lunch with the family, great service, delicious roast and desert.
Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Amazing setting with superb and polite staff to aid. Nothing was too much trouble and they certainly go the extra miles (not just one) to ensure your visit is one to remember for the right reasons.
Would highly recommend to anybody. Food was cooked to perfection and service ran like clockwork on the floor. … Credit to all staff (front of house to behind the scenes kitchen).

Had my mums 60th meal here yesterday with over 20 of us it went really smoothly and the staff were very officiant they were also very obliging as always and my mum was offered a glass of bubbly, the manager always makes the effort to say hello which is a nice touch too.

My husband and I had the wonderful experience of a Wine and 5 Course meal evening. Hosted by Stephen Barratt. Wines were specially chosen for the five courses and Stephen was then able to tell us about the wines, where it was grown and why he had chosen for that particular course. The food was incredible, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The venue was beautiful and the room inwhich we dined in very special making us feel like Kings and Queens. Thouroughly recommend to anyone that would like to partake in an evening of food and wine culture. We will be back ourselves for another similar event. Thank you Stephen, Kitley House and the wonderful staff that made the whole evening so special.

We had our wedding reception at Kitley House last month and it was amazing we couldn't have wished for better! It was just perfect, beautifully laid out, incredible food, stunning gardens and views and the whole team at Kitley were great, we can't thank them enough for helping make our wedding day so perfect. We would definitely recommend Kitley House Hotel to anyone.

We got married at Kitley House yesterday, and I really cannot recommend the team enough! Everything was laid out to perfection, the venue is absolutely stunning especially with the new renovations and the staff are amazing, particularly Becky! She made sure that everything and everyone was on time, and was just so friendly and lovely which made us feel so relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and everyone had a smile. The rooms are also stunning, I struggled to leave! We really cannot thank you enough — if I could do it all again tomorrow at Kitley I would! Thank you, we’ll definitely be returning for anniversaries!

Visited and stayed here for a wedding celebration. The staff were friendly and courteous throughout. The food for the wedding breakfast was good and the drinks were fine too. The atmosphere was pleasant and the grounds well kept. For the price the room was OK but nothing great — using cheap biscuits and so on to cut costs when people have paid nearly £100 isn't great. The breakfast in the morning was average at best, the hot elements being particularly poor and of the catering quality ilk. Overall then decent enough but not perfect, 3.5 out of 5. That said, I fully enjoyed my stay due to the wedding itself!

The grounds as you drive down to the house look like something Gainsborough could've painted. Cream teas and really excellent food. Beef is perfectly succulent. Real old fashioned puddings — a few Christmases ago I had an unforgettable orang and ginger suet pudding — also modern dishes. All perfectly simple with structured flavours. In summer the french doors are open to the terrace and gardens, in winter the fires are lit in the dining room. After dinner you can walk off your meal along the many nature walks in the grounds along the nearby river and fishing ponds.

Had a lovely cream tea at Kitley House yesterday with my Trefoil Guild friends, loads of jam and cream, nothing was too much trouble for the very nice gentleman that served us. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon.

I pooed in for a quick ingress event and had a nice drink at the bar free parking and a lovely long drive way. Fabulous wLks I the grounds. What a beautiful place.

I went here with my pregnant fiancee just to relax and get away from the world and this place did just that. We started with Afternoon tea which was amazing all the cakes were perfect the sandwiches were average though but the cakes made up for that. The room was spacious and gave a nice view in to the countryside. We spent most of our time in the room as it had a very relaxing atmosphere. When we left the room though the staff are really attentive and can't do enough. The evening meal was amazing both of our dinners were phenomenal. The food here is exceptional so even if you don't plan on staying the night I'd recommend just having a meal here.

Got married here in 2017, perfect day! Staff and suppliers are all lovely, food great, rooms comfortable and the grounds are stunning. Have since been back for a nights stay and was still as lovely! Highly recommended.

Lovely venue right by the river and lake. Hotel has a grand old staircase but rooms easy to find and in good order. Service very good and food along with service and staff was exceptional.

Problems start when you go to the rooms. They are really small, ex servants quarters, and look like past their end date. They really need renovation. Very basic. There was no desk to put my laptop on. The wardrobe was a tiny hole in the wall and the bathroom very basic. Obviously it is an old place with high running costs. It is a shame as it looks like it can become a good place with the proper investment to renovate some things, especially the rooms.

Went here today for an afternoon burgers and cream tea for my little sisters baby shower and being the only vegan in a group of 15 I was worried, but I was absolutely brilliantly catered for being served veganised versions of everything the others had. This really was a breath of fresh air and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be back and can’t thank the chef and the staff enough for being so inclusive.

Beautiful manor house hotel that hasn't lost its charm. Friendly staff and top notch food. We had breakfast in front of a roaring log fire & looking out across the river during the recent arctic storm. Needs a little bit of maintenance done in a couple of minor places. I. E paint starting to split and peel around parts of the bedroom windows but in a way it adds to its historic charm and ambience. I'd certainly stay here again but definitely don't take your beloved low sports car down the pothole studded lane you go down to get there…

Beautiful building in a peaceful setting. The stars at night and views in the morning are gorgeous. Slightly lacking in maintenance to be true luxury but lovely staff, delicious food, clean, and quiet. Loved it there.

Staff are super friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel has an atmosphere of homeliness despite being a large mansion house. There are always log fires burning throughout the reception rooms in winter. I've stayed there a lot on business and feel very much at home whenever I go.

Attended a work party at Kitley house, the food was very good and staff helpful and attentive. Also have a good selection of cocktails at the bar. Room was very clean and tidy.

We booked a 2 night break on the recommendation of a friend and we weren't disappointed! Lovely spacious clean rooms, such lovely staff and what a location. We ate breakfast, Sunday roast and a bar snack all of which were fantastic quality and presentation. The roast was amazing, the chef uses local produce and he knows how to cook a Yorkshire pudding… it was half the plate! We will be back as we have been well looked after, with nothing being too much trouble. Adam the general manager and Becky the food & beverage manager were genuinely friendly and accommodating and topped off out visit. I recommend to anyone to visit, you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to next time.

We got married here, it really was the best day we could've asked for, right from the moment we first visited we have felt welcome and we were very well looked after. The grounds are beautiful, the house is beautiful and the staff are a one of a kind team. Best Day Ever!

Before I review I have not stayed here. I came here to look at wedding venues. The staff were very nice and polite and, despite the fact that we had not made an appointment, gave us a tour around the house. Once they have finished this we were then allowed to look around on our own. The other staff came up and chatted to us about the house as well which was nice. I especially liked the fact that we were left to our own device and they did not try the "hard sale". The house is in a lovely condition is well maintained. The bridal suite is very nice and well appointed.

We were slightly disappointed with our stay here. The location is fantastic and the reception staff were very welcoming but we had booked bed and breakfast and when we got down in the morning we were told that breakfast wasn't included. The hotel look a little tired and could do with a makeover. This place could be amazing!

Large grounds to hold a wedding with nice gardens and pond. Rooms are very beautiful with plenty of parking spaces.

Wonderful stay throughout! We had the bridal suite (Churchill room) and it was amazing! The murder mystery evening was fantastic fun and the food was superb! All the staff were polite, professional and friendly. We highly recommend this as a place to stay! The walk along the lake ended our stay perfectly!

Food and staff good but the club rooms need a good clean n fittings light poor in our room we stayed 2 nights with our dog pet friendly hotel I must add brill walking for dogs the only let down was our room! Must have a sewage problems as bathroom smells but apart from that all good the pancakes are lovely.

Very enjoyable 2 night break with our black labrador, the location is excellent with a lovely long driveway, walks through the woods overlooking a large lake, the scenery is stunning. We were advised to eat in the hotel restaurant by guests who were on their 10 visit, we had planned to eat out but took their advise and were not disappointed, in fact we ate there again on the 2nd night, the food was excellent, the presentation superb. Our dog was made very welcome by all the staff, we would like to praise the restaurant manger Nathan Earnshaw, nothing was too much trouble for him, he went out of his way to be helpful, I wish we came across more service like this. We would definitely return here, if only for the food.

A superb location and property but rooms need a comprehsive clean and more attention to detail with fixtures and fittings. As previous review, look out for web specials as rooms are pricey.
