It's nice place to be. The food is great! The Chef deserve a Michelin Star. The staff are friendly/great. If you want to retreat from all the stress, this is the right place.

We love this hotel It is our " special place" that we go to when we want to fully relax and be spoilt. The staff are all lovely, service is great and food is to die for. What more could anyone want. We love it, love it, love it. Even our daughter and her new husband went to Hotel Blamoral for their honeymoon and they loved it too and are hoping to go back there sometime.
Please keep doing things the way you do Balmoral, everything is perfect just the way it is.

A group of 30 of my Zumba group of ladies recently stayed for the weekend and had a brilliant time. The location of the hotel is perfect and the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy with lovely gardens and helpful staff (especially Samantha and Stephen! ). The food was incredible, we didn't expect such a high standard of food and presentation for the price we paid and ate so well over the weekend. There was a different menu each night with vegetarians and coeliacs catered for. We were able to stay in our groups of up to 6 when seated in the lounge to enjoy some drinks and entertainment and also in the restaurant and felt like the hotel were taking all necessary measures against Coronavirus and we had plenty of space.
All in all, it was a wonderful great value weekend! I would recommend the hotel to any group /couple or family wanting a lovely break in a relaxing, yet central location.

We had a lovely relaxed weekend. The Hotel was almost empty due to the Corona virus. But the advice at the time was that it was safe with proper precautions. Everyone was careful. The staff were amazing. They were friendly & efficient. The cleaning staff were taking precautions, as we were. The food was of a higher standard than we expected. I ate far too much. The Hotel is in a beautiful, quiet area, near the sea. I definitely recommend The Balmoral, and would love to return, after the present crisis is over. Thank you to all the staff. I really needed the break after recent surgery. X.

Had the most fantastic weekend with family at this beautiful, clean, friendly hotel. Every meal was to die for! Wonderfully tasty and cooked to perfection. All staff from front of house, restaurant staff and housekeeping are so friendly and clearly take pride in their jobs. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just got back from a fantastic weekend at The Hotel Balmoral. Absolutely lovely rooms, clean and beautifully decorated in a unique hotel. We came as a large party of 10 for A Friday and Saturday night stay, cream tea, breakfast, dinner and Sunday lunch included. The food was amazing, lots of variety and nothing was a problem. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Lovely sea view from my room and a pretty garden to enjoy. Close to Meadfoot beach and town. We will be back.

We have just had an amazing family weekend, celebrating a special birthday, and we have had such a lovely time. The hotel is so clean and tidy and comfortable; the food was was incredible and the staff were so accommodating. Thank you all for an amazing time.

Friendly efficient and informative check in with Alex. Clean room with a super king bed. Excellent choice of breakfast with great service. Lovely garden with views of Meadfoot beach which is a short stroll away. A regular bus service outside the hotel going into Torquay is available. Now for the evening dinner! An absolute treat to say the least. A five course fine dining experience for a mere £21.95. Excellent choice with beautiful presentation. Friendly professional waiting service and a very well stocked bar for after dinner drinks.

First time visiting torquay to celebrate our honeymoon. What a place to be. The room was lovely,, the staff were really helpful and breakfast was fresh and amazing.

I booked the hotel for my mum and the only research I did was on trip advisor, which gave it 4 and a half stars. And even though receptionist was very good and a lovely guy who tried to accommodate for our needs, the hotel fell down on not being very mobility friendly. All bedrooms are upstairs with no other means of getting up there. My mum is 83 and struggles with any kind of stairs. I guess next time, i'll make sure it meets our requirements.

I recently stayed here for a few days. There is nothing I can find fault with this hotel. The food is amazing, the staff are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble. The hotel is spotless. You can see the sea from the beautiful gardens. I would highly recommend staying here.

A really nice place. Friendly staff and quite close to the town and Harbour. Hilly for walking but close to the local beach where's there's a lovely seaside cafe perched on the top overlooking the sea.

Simply the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the moment we arrived the lovely welcome to the moment we left the service was absolutely fantastic, the food was superb and imagantive, the hotel was spotlessly clean and by the day we left felt like a member of the family. I stayed over christmas and the little extras like cadbury's roses on the piano to warm mince pies in the evening all at no cost made it that extra special. If you ever get the chance to stay here then I imagine you will have to book early. All of the staff were extremely friendly and it really felt a very special place to stay.

The hotel is well situated and has attractive gardens. Our twin room was quite small but smart warm and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed on a weekend break arriving on Friday afternoon when a lovely cream tea was served. All the evening meals and breakfasts were of a very good quality with lots of choice and the unexpected Sunday Lunch was exceptional. The entertainment provided on both nights was enjoyable. This November break was really good value and we will be back here again.

From the time we arrived to the time we left we could not fault the hotel staff were very helpful and the food was bigger than I thought it would be the cheese board you could have as much as you like as iam a bit of a cheese fan live music good rooms cosy shower nice and hot all round great place well done.

Very nice hotel that isn't too far from the sea front. 10-15 minute walk. The rooms are quite small but cosy and we had a lovely view of the garden. Breakfast was delicious, especially the pancakes and English breakfast. The staff are also very friendly and always ask how we are and say good morning. Very welcoming. Would definitely return.

We had a one night stay at The Hotel Balmoral. The hotel itself is cosy and relaxed and the five course evening meal for £23.95 per person was outstanding value — excellent quality and service. The only negative point was that our double room had no view and was very dark; the en suite had carpet which was very dusty in the corners as was the towel rail etc. That being said, we would definitely stay again.

Stayed 4 nights a very good hotel the food was excellent and the staff are friendly it as a nice warm atmosphere the rooms are nice and clean, a good bar and a nice choice of drinks, the garden is very large and is great for a nice relaxing day, it very close to the seafront 2 minute walk from the hotel his is the second time we have satyed here and was very pleased last time as well.

Calm tranquil surroundings with beautiful views surrounding you great coastal walk meadfoot beach is a 3 minute walk from the hotel balmoral and the staff are friendly and happy to help your stay be as good as possible breakfast is great overall service and friendly atmosphere definitely makes you feel welcome I am already planning to go back in October.

Our room was comfy and importantly very clean, booked dinner&breakfast and was not dissapointed at any meal time, food was hot, plenty of choice and plenty of it!

We highly recommend taking time to sit outside in the grounds to take in the gardens&view, very peacefull… we needed to recharge our batteries and we definatly did it here!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Break at the The Hotel Balmoral, thanks to all the staff who helped to make it so enjoyable. We received a warm welcome on arrival in a homely atmosphere which was just the start of a very happy time. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the meals we enjoyed were really superb — the chef created some truly mouthwatering dishes, especially the Christmas dinner! There was plenty of room to relax in and entertainment in the evening. So good we are looking forward to our next stay at the Hotel Balmoral in the near future.

We spent a four night festive break over Christmas 2014 at the Balmoral which we really enjoyed. It is a small family run hotel where they treat you like part of the family. It is cosy and welcoming and the food is delicious being certainly comparable with, or better than, many of the large chains. The rooms are a little bit tired and in need of a makeover but nevertheless very comfortable, yet somehow the quirkiness adds to the ambience of the place. The one thing we found a little lacking was service in the dining hall. Our waiter could do with some training in how to lessen his journeys to the kitchen (such as carrying more than two plates at a time or serving more than one couple at each visit), thus saving the amount of time waiting in between courses. Having said that it was great to be waited upon and not have to cook over Christmas and the Balmoral certainly looks after you well.

My wife and I have been going to this hotel fo 5 yers now, we have got to know the owners personally and they cant do enough to please you. The food is outstanding and the staff are very nice and polite. The entertainment is always great and I recommend it whole heartedly.

I have just spent five wonderful days (28/12 to 2/1) with a number of friends for a great New Year celebration. The Hotel was warm and friendly with the staff making every effort to give us a holiday to remember. The food was very good with a varied selection and special requirements were no problem. Three nights of entertainment, with a firework display on New Year Night added to a first class stay. This was my sixth New Year here and needless to say I hope to make it SEVERN. Many thanks to Steve, Alex, Brian and all the staff.

I really liked the staff and the public areas of the hotels, especially the garden. I found the bedroom and bathroom very small. Also the window requires blackout blinds on the windows. The food was very good quality and I would stay again but in a larger room.

Just returned from a lovely 4 day break Wonderful service, food, good house wine, lashings of hot water etc. Will certainly be going again. Wish I could transport this place to other areas of UK. Yet another fantastic stay, came across this hotel (about four years ago) whilst staying at another hotel which allegedly was portryed as being far superior. This in fact was not the case and one only has to experience the manner in which all members of staff treat guests to appreciate that "The Balmoral "stands head and shoulders above others As always the food was excellent and attention to detail spot on. Sensibly priced both in respect of accomodation and drinks/wine. On a previous visit another guest commented to me with much affection that it was like coming back to a summer camp each year as so many of the other guests are known to them from previous visits and that its not just staying at a hotel. I and my friends who have visited "The Balmoral" agree thats its a hidden treasure.
