Such a classy place, rock n roll weekend great, met lots of nice people too. Staff went out way to make stay nice and accommodating too. Met a lot of nice people too. Looking forward to staying in Nov again🙂🍹😘💃💃

Always an excellent meal. Great service. Silver service, food hot excellent quality. Have been coming to this fine establishment for over 25 years. Never disappointed.

Just enjoyed a three course Sunday lunch here. The food was absolutely outstanding, cannot wait to come back.

Just had an amazing 3 course belated Xmas meal this afternoon. We were a very large group and we were all very impressed with the quality of food and the wonderful dining room staff who were helpful and polite. I would definitely go back for another meal in the future.

No vegan menu even though some of the fish mains were served with olives. It's not hard to put some bread, olives and olive oil as a starter. Ordered the roast peppers without the anchovies, had to have two starters rather than a main and got given anchovies on toast. It's not 1970! The fish that was being served to others also smelt of amonia.

Everything, the staff, service, rooms, food, fantastic.

Went for afternoon tea for my birthday and it was amazing! Beautiful sandwiches warm scones and the mist exquisite cakes on a beautiful stand. We also had a beautiful sea view. Great service and good value.

A nice comfortable long established feel to it. Right by the sea. What we have had so far has been good. Staff are great and very accommodating.

We stayed for 5 nights, and could not fault anything. The hotel is like stepping into a Downtown Abbey set, with all original furniture, mouldings, chandeliers and paintings. All staff wear butlers uniforms with tails, and are the most helpful, friendly and professional staff we have had the pleasure of meeting. There is a silver service restaurant, and the food is of an exceptionally high standard. But, they insist on you enjoying yourself, and there is no formal dress code for guests.
We had a delicious cream tea, served in the beautiful hotel garden, where their resident white doves settle on the roof tops.
We had an absolutely marvelous time, and cannot wait to return next year!

The food is great there, and the staff is very friendly. The location is great, it is worth your money.

The young lady on reception was lovely bless her. Food was good, it was like going back in time, the rooms are a bit tired but clean.

Lovely Christmas meal shame the breakfast was served straight from the fridge think the chef could do with investing in a probe staff were great.

Wow yesterday my parents had a renewal of their vows (aka another wedding) to celebrate being together 40 years. All the staff at the Livermead Cliff were amazing nothing was too much trouble very attentive 5 * service. They transformed the room beautifully. Treated my parents like royalty if you are thinking of having a wedding here you will not be disappointed they are all AMAZING Thank you for making my parents day so special.

Stayed at the Livermead House Hotel this weekend to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary as we had our wedding reception here. The service from the staff is first class, the food excellent and the view from the lounge is incredible. Can't wait until we return for our Silver Wedding Anniversary but we will be back before then of course.

Lovely friendly welcome came with a coach party on the 12thmay great food waiters x waitresses were fantastic all the staff were so helpful nothing was to much trouble coming again December 1st looking forward to it good start to the holiday season.

Very nice hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff and the view directly to the sea was fantastically beautiful. The hotel was furnished as in the 18th century with great flair. We would have liked to stay longer and we felt completely comfortable.

Might have been good 50 years ago. This place is stuck in a time warp, it's more like a museum than a hotel. I used the squash court (go around the back through the stinking bin area near the kitchens) during my stay and it looked like a war zone, just needed the bullets holes.

We went there to lovely dance enjoyed lovely evening on a Tuesday very good venue.

I honestly am shocked went for an awards ceremony, food was rubbish veg was on rations, bottle of prosecco was £31.50! I know in a best western things are normally a little dearer but how can you justify that price for a naff bottle! Grounds lovely, hotel itself could do with a modern make over. One bar had nothing so was sent over to the main bar, then back and then back again. Bar man didn't know what a jager bomb was and charged £17 for one. An absolute shambles from the start!

My friend won silver at care awards and the event was hosted here. Beautiful evening/setting and food was nice. Plenty of parking, building of character,, vintage and literally across the road from the beautiful Torbay coast and beach with gorgeous views.

A very nice and well-groomed hotel with a typical British flair. Very attentive staff. The food is super delicious! We liked it there.

A superb oasis for a relaxing holiday. Arriving at Livermead House during inclement weather, we were welcomed by the General Manager, Mr Tim Rew. Despite the appalling conditions, he personally took charge of our luggage from our car and guided us to our room. This set the stage for our stay where courteous service was provided by all Mr Rew’s immaculately dressed staff. The Dining Room supervised by Barry, delightful Bonnie, David and a host of charming waitresses provided us ever-changing delicious menus prepared by the talented chef. Finally, a choice from the extensive desserts was too good to refuse. My wife’s birthday was celebrated with the grand piano playing and the staff singing Happy Birthday, presenting her a scrumptious cake. All this was enjoyed in the surroundings reminiscent of Downton Abbey. While there wasn't a Lunchtime sitting, the bar menu sandwiches with a generous salad offered a tasty and satisfying alternative for under £7.00. With ample parking, a comfortable bed with blankets (no ghastly duvet in sight) and fluffy towels to enjoy, you leave Livermead House utterly relaxed and tempted to plan another visit at the earliest opportunity.

Super food, new windows needed in some rooms, which I understand are on order, ample parking, on the sea front. Enjoyed the high tea, lots of space for meetings, dancing, etc.

Food was the best… couldn't sleep due to uncomfortable bed, considering I slept on a floor for 2 weeks prior. Lost my milk cartoon out the window. Sorry about that.

Very high standard offered by the staff and food is 5 star. Hotel is tired but that gives it charm and it is very clean. Typical Torquay hotel. Bus stop into town right outside the entrance. A must for tourist who just want a weekend visit. There is also a pool for the diehard outdoor swimmers.

The most amazing place to spend a quiet Sunday lunch. Service is out of this world. Food is excellent and coffee and biscuits in the lounge finish things off wonderfully.

I attended a weekend dance workshop here, the hotel were always on the ball with refreshments, bar and lunch snacks… A great place but the clientele were rather old compared to me… Not that I'm particularly young :-)

Was here for Suella's dance show for rowcroft. Was an excellent event and a good venue. The afternoon tea they brought out was lovely. A lot of variety of sandwiches with plenty of Tea and coffee. The scones they brought out were freshly made and tastes amazing with the cream and jam. Would recommend this place as a venue for events.

Don't take notice of the negative reviews, this place is a haven of tranquility and exemplary service from a time gone by! Yes equally so the decor but for me that's part of the charm. There are numerous ultra modern minimalist establishments on offer but for those who miss the service and and quality of food from yesteryear than you must give this hotel a try.
I have stayed in many hotels and this hotel offered the best food and service I have ever received. We will be returning!

We only used the function rooms, the hotel is comfortable if a little dated, which maybe adds to its charm The staff are very attentive and yet discrete a perfect combination.

We attended a private luncheon and the choice of food was great. The quality of the food was really good for the price we paid. The room had great views, its own bar, and was well appointed. Our group has been holding a spring luncheon here for the past four years. We'll be back again next year!

The service in the restaurant today has been very poor, our bathroom blind is broken and hanging at a45deg angle
The chair in the room broke spilling me onto the floor banging my head, and shoulder against the wall, I called reception at 6-30pm to ask for someone to come up to the room
He advised me that he was only an under manager and would inform the general manager
2-3/4 hours later I went and asked to see the general manager, whose comm…ent WA when I explained what had happened was accidents happen, I informed him that you could see where they had tried to repair the chair with screws to hold the joint, therefore they had put a defective chair input room, the general manager was not interested in even had to say that he had not even apologised or asked how I was, did I need medical treatment for the bang on my head.

We had a school class reunion there yesterday and just wanted to say thank you to all the staff for making it a special afternoon. The service was excellent and food delicious with petite sandwiches, yummy easy to handle small cakes, scones and lashings of tea and coffee. Thank you to the Deputy Manager for being our photograher so we could re-enact the class photo. We had a lovely large room all to ourselves and considering there was 17 or so ladies all catching up on 34 years worth of memories was probably just as well. Thank you Reception for looking after the bouquet of flowers for our organiser. Can highly recommend this hotel for this type of function.
