Superb hotel with fabulous hosts John and Jane cannot do enough for you, extremely comfortable hotel with a great breakfast to set you up for the day. The rooms are beautifully kept and hygiene is to the highest standard, we felt safe and looked after. We would highly recommend to everyone and will definitely return.

A clean, beautifully presented hotel, we have had the best stay. The owners Jane and John create a welcoming, lovely atmosphere and the food is absolutely lovely. We will be visiting again!

Lovely hotel, the management can’t do enough for you. We have got a suite on the ground floor. The breakfast is superb. The hosts John and Jane go out of the way to make you welcome, even changing the room from first floor to ground floor, so no steps.

We have just returned from a two night break with our son and his fiancé, Jane and John are magnificent hosts nothing is a bother to either of them.
The hotel and its facilities are second to none it’s absolutely stunning in all aspects.
A fantastic well stocked bar the breakfast is utterly fantastic.
And the cleanliness is just sublime
We are returning customers and will definitely be returning again.
If you haven’t booked at this hotel my only question to you would be why not?

Amazing hotel in a lovely part of Torquay. On arrival, we were greeted by John and Jane and offered coffee and a slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake. Very personal and friendly service with thoughtful little extras. The hotel is stunning with gorgeous decor. Can’t wait to return!

Extremely welcoming hosts and friendly, personable service. John knew all his guests by name and offered information on places to eat etc. In the area. The hotel was lovely and our shower and bathroom were clearly recently refurbished to a good standard. Attention to detail in the hotel itself, as well as from John and staff, really makes a difference. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was delicious each morning. Very well located, just a short walk from the local restaurants and town. We would stay here again. Thanks for a great break!

Fabulous hotel to stay in. Breakfasts second to none — and nothing seems too much a bother. Hosts (Jane and John) are so friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is ideally placed for a number of fab eating places when going out on a night. And is spotlessly clean. Overall couldn't fault it.

We had an absolute treat at this beautiful hotel, as soon as we arrived John the owner greeted my wife and myself at the entrance too care of our bags made us a pot of tea and spent time to tell us about the area and the best places to eat, (Just a true gentleman).
The staff are very helpful and polite. Been one of our best experiences staying in a hotel.

We have been to Torquay many, many times and visited lots of different hotels, we have now finally found a location we will use on all future visits. Great location, great food and lovely surroundings.

Just had three nights at this lovely hotel which is situated close to the harbour in Torquay. This is our third consecutive year of staying here and once again we were not disappointed. The hotel is very welcoming from the outside and interior is immaculate and tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout. Peter our host was very welcoming. Our room was superbly clean and fresh linen. Tea and coffee facilities and water. Lovely view over neatly arranged garden. Breakfast choice was superb and very well presented. Nothing was too much trouble for Jean the lovely lady serving breakfast. You will not be disappointed with this hotel, definitely worth five stars in our opinion!

Amazing place to stay just a short walk from the harbour, breakfast very nice and the bedroom was so comfortable, would recommend to anyone.

This hotel is fantastic from the point you enter the door with fantastic staff. Breakfast is the best we’ve had for many years using local produce. Highly recommend and we will be returning in the future.

We booked very last minute — the night before on a bank holiday weekend — and cannot fault the place! We were met as we arrived in the car park and taken to the room. A very friendly welcome, but not overbearing at all. The breakfast was delicious, literally scrumptious! I can't recommend the place highly enough!

Been to this hotel 4 times now lovely place to spend a break close enough to all the attractions but out of the way on a leafy road, would recommend this to anyone you also get a 10%reduction for returning guests.

We had yet another wonderful time at The Haytor Hotel… everything was just great, from the staff who can't do enough for you, the Hotel itself being such a lovely place and of course the breakfasts. Cannot recommend this place enough … its the best hotel in Torquay.

A superb hotel! Beautiful presentation of all areas with impeccable attention to detail. Room no 5 was spotless, tastefully decorated with lovely blend of traditional and contemporary. A great selection of toiletries too!
Breakfast in the elegant dining room was perfect and hosted by a lovely warm and friendly lady who couldn't do enough for us.
We thought this would be a perfect wedding venue as the outside space was equally beautiful with a variety of different outside 'rooms'.
Special mention to the comprehensive information folder with great maps and details of eateries with price banding and recommendations.

Recently returned from a 5 day break from the Haytor hotel. Booked ground floor rooms to accommodate my elderly parents who had room 1 which had fantastic facilities including a wet room, massage chairs and beverage fridge and outstanding décor. Breakfast was first class from the locally sauced sausages, bacon to locally sourced jams, and endless supply of toast, coffee and tea. I'd like to thank the whole team for making our stay such a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend to all my friends and family.

Well situated on a quiet road but only a couple of minutes walk into town. Friendly hosts and nice comfortable rooms. Will come again.

We stayed two nights fabulous super king size bed very clean everywhere, food good, and approx. Five min. Walking distance to town/harbour. Sheets and table linen pristine. Would stay here again. Pauline & carl.

Just got back from our stay here and it was fantastic, Roger the gentleman that runs it was so welcoming and was on hand to give us some useful tips of where to go, what to do etc. Hotel was lovely, very clean and comfortable, breakfast was great. Cannot wait to go back.

We stayed there for the weekend of 19-21 September. The hotel was well situated and the rooms and service were to a high standard. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and, although there was no restaurant, there are many within easy walking distance. The breakfasts were large and excellent. We would recommend this hotel.

Last minute booking. Convenient, comfortable. Lovely welcome from Roger. Small but comfortable room with everything we needed, very efficiently serviced by charming maid. Breakfast was excellent — Jean is a treasure, looked after us so well. Would love to visit again for longer next time.

I spent two nights at the Haytor in May 2010 and I had a very pleasant stay. I was attending an exhibition at the nearby Barceló and I definitely chose to stay at the better hotel of the two. Beautiful building and a very nice comfortable room. Breakfast was great and the owner Chris was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely return to stay here if I ever come to Torquay again for business or pleasure. Fantastic location very close to town.
