Had two meals at the old inn, compared to other meals we've had round salcombe these are the best by far, staff very polite nothing to much trouble, very clean and tidy place made to feel welcome instantly.

Such a lovely traditional pub, hard to find these days. Food was very good and home cooked. Staff really friendly. Would definatly recomend the old inn. Calling in again before we return home to yorkshire.

Fantastic choice drinks, and a really nice Sauvignon Blanc for decent price. Service very quick and staff friendly. The food is really tasty, I had a pure and it was proper homemade. The decor is lovely too. I'd highly recommend this pub.

What a great find … Very warm welcome from the bar staff. Gave us lots of useful information about the area and lovely food… Made to feel like one of the locals. Highly recommend a visit… Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Went on a Wednesday which was pie night. After an hour and a half wait the pastry on the pie was raw. The steak and chips was inedible. Dont even want to give them one star as the chef didn't recognize that the pastry was raw but it is the lowest rank that you can give!

Wasn't expecting a great deal but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We had a great and very ample meal and the service was excellent. Brilliant value for money.

I have to disagree with the above review. — 45 mins is not very long to wait for food cooked to order — perhaps jdave57 should go to a fast food joint — chill man it is Devon. It is a great little place with friendly staff and fab food. We even chose to return for a second time on the last night of our holidays! The Carnivor Salad was a favourite and the Sirloin was melt in the mouth. We went with two kids (9&7) and they were made to feel very welcome. I do have one comment for the Management. Do more puddings. We were disappointed to not get a portion of the lemon and sultana cheesecake on the 2nd visit (which we did get on the 1st visit and was divine. ) and disappointed not to get to try the mud pie at all! — Great place.

This must be the worst meal I have not tasted. Four of us went for an evening meal in August, the meal was ordered after approx 45mins, 2 of the meals arrived. As we had been waiting for such a long time we suggested that our two guests started, The fish and chips dish was started, fish ok chips awful, the second a pizza (looked like it came out of a box) was also started only to be whisked away to another table — apparentley wrong order to them being busy (three tables full! ) We then had to wait another twenty minutes — nothing arrived, we complained, was offered our money back for the meals not eaten by a very nice bar waitress which we accepted. The manager then came out thrusting another one of our meals in my face saying ours was now ready. We declined and he replied with words that we certainly did not expect. Awful Place Awful Menu Awful Food Awful Management — should be bankrupt within a year KEEP WELL CLEAR Fantasic pub across the road — excellent beer, food and owner.
