Very relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.

We had a great weekend. Very clean friendly helpful staff lovely indoor swimming pool. Unfortunately the food let it down which is a shame. Main meal was ok dessert of crumble was a dollop on a plate no fruit very dry crumble which was burnt. Scone which I had with tea before leaving was Rock hard 😕. Breakfast was disappointing lots of issues. But we will be back as we loved our family room and location. Our granddaughter who is 8 enjoyed it. Yvonne lines (amazing sea view which we all loved) x.

Amazing hotel both as a resident or just popping in for a few hours. My grandson aged 5 and I had afternoon tea there today, it was an amazing experience for him. The staff and food were amazing taking time to listen to Albert chatting about everything. He loved the play area and enjoyed playing table tennis in the garden room. Thanks for a lovely afternoon. Amazing hotel with beautiful grounds and a sea view that never fails to disappoint. Staff are always happy to help and proactively personalise service to accommodate needs and enhance the guest experience. Well maintained facilities, which in my opinion, exceed what you would expect for the hotels rating. A lot of history in the building with a wonderful story to ask about!

Went here for afternoon tea. Tuesday 14th June 2022. Food was excellent. Roast Beef sandwich to die for. Staff very friendly. Lovely setting. Cracking view. Highly recommended.

As a young couple with a baby, we had a lovely stay at Langstone Cliff Hotel. Decor was a little dated but it had everything we needed. High chairs and cot available with no hassle, quiet pool which baby loved and lovely outdoor dining with sea view. They were very accommodating when we opted in for breakfast at the last minute. Only problem was indoor soft play area looked a bit worse for wear and didn't want to put baby in there with split tatty edges, shame as she would have loved a crawl about. Great walking distance into town and to the beach. Will definitely come back. Thank you.

We came to the Langstone with our twin boys today after a recommendation from a family I work with praising how family friendly it was . We had a lovely swim, facilities were clean and the water was lovely. We enjoyed a hot drink before we headed off, the hot chocolates went down very well. The staff were so friendly and approachable and we will definately come back again soon. The sunshininh was a great bonus today. Thank you so much for making the end of our half term so enjoyable.

This is our second Christmas here and I couldn't find fault in anything. The family are so friendly and helpful, the staff just as amazing and food to die for. How they manage to serve so many Christmas lunches hot and extremely tasty is beyond me. Would I recommend you bet I will. Thank you to the Rogers family and all their amazing staff.

Thank you for a lovely weekend at your hotel. All the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. They bent over backwards to ensure we had the best stay. Our children loved every minute and were really sad when we had to leave. We will definitely be back!

Well what can I say … Our 2nd stay at the hotel. Arrived early but had full use of the hotel facilities from the off 👍 Reception said they would call us when our room was ready. So headed to the veranda sat down and within a few minutes the guy came out and took our order quick tap on the reader with the card done! … 🍺🍺 was there quicker than the wifes coffee Awsome 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️… Phone rings, reception. Off to get door cards (early) 👍Open door to our room Awsome loads space 👍 Usb chargers in the plugs 👍 Biscuits on the tray next to the kettle 👍 Quick shower and off to the Outside eating area. Orders food for the two of us. Nice and quick and hot 👍 ……… Morning. Great sleep nice and comfy👍. Me and my family come down for a 3 night stay and it was fantastic lovely hotel staff was friendly and very helpful and very clean both indoor and outdoor pool was great would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful views, great location. Covid safe as can be. Friendly staff. Plenty to do, good for families. Not great sound proofing, and the bed was very firm… Had an amazing 3 nights away though and would happily return.

Beautiful hotel to relax and chill, great staff who cannot do enough for you, they are actually all fabulous. The food is also excellent and we made a decision to eat here every night after the first night. Such a lovely atmosphere, thank you Langston we will be back x.

We came home on Monday after spending the week with you celebrating my mums birthday. Beautiful hotel, scenery and grounds, lots to do and the staff were extremely kind and very hard working. We’d personally like to say a big thank you to a few members of your staff as they truly went above and beyond during the duration of our stay and made us feel welcome as well as putting a smile on our faces. Issac & Megan in the restaurant area, and the lady with blonde hair on reception as well as the lady with blonde hair on the bar. Each and everyone of these people are a true credit to the hotel❤️. We can’t praise this place enough! We had a wonderful weekend here and the Covid-19 measures in place made us feel safe. The room was great, the location and views beautiful and nothing was too much trouble for the amazing staff. We were blown away by the amount of staff and that fact that they all seemed so cheerful and eager to please at all times, despite working long hours in the hottest weekend of the year. The food was great, both in the bar and the restaurant. Thank you.

Just come back from an amazing few days with family at the langstone. Its our favourite place to stay when visiting our dad in dawlish warren. Highly recommend it. Exceptional customer service and excellent with children looking forward to visiting again soon. My son has autism and nothing is to much trouble. Staff go above and beyond. This was our 7th ish visit can't wait for many more.

Great place to stay when visiting this part of Devon. Great place to hold dance related events as the ballroom is quite big. Well appointed, clean and well equipped rooms. Great food in the restaurant and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Wow this is the best venue we have ever used for our dance events. We had taken every room at the venue and they just coukd not do enough for us all. You will never be disappointed if you book here it is very special x.

I spent the weekend on a dancing trip. The rooms were lovely, we were made to feel welcome. The food and service also were good, fab dance room. A very pleasant stay and will return next year.

Recently had my wedding reception at the Langstone Cliff Hotel and I cannot fault the hotel, staff nor service at all. Louise at reception was great with helping answer any questions we had as well as offering advice. The hotel rooms were perfect for everybody who stayed including my elderly relatives who needed ground floor rooms with easy access. The meal for the reception was amazing, we have had so many people saying that it was the best wedding meal they’ve had. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and always willing to help anybody.
I can’t thank the hotel and the staff enough for everything.

Beautiful hotel set in stunning grounds staff friendly welcoming nothing to much trouble good parking facilities room spacious only had one meal there had lasagne but didn't enjoy was very dry but apart from that having a lovely stay will definitely return.

Family run hotel with a beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the dawlish sea. Warm inside pool which is open to non residents too! Incredible ploughman's and chips.

Me and my husband just had a lovely Easter break at the LCH — nothing too much trouble — all the staff are so friendly and welcoming — quite a few children there on this occasion (hotel is very family friendly) but not a moan or a whine to be heard — kids all played well together. Food very good, ok it's not "fine dining" but you can expect good quality meals, well cooked and plenty off it — no need for anyone to go hungry. Bee Gees tribute band were amazing — I would high…ly recommend seeing them if you get the chance (go under the name of "nights on broadway") they are from Dublin. Rooms spotlessly clean as are all public areas. No rowdiness — everyone seemed to have settled by midnight so no late night/early morning drunken shouting in the corridors as you might get in some hotels. This was our third visit and we will definitely go back as many people seem to do. Thanks to the entire team for a lovely stay — keep up the good work!

Came down with our family of 30 and can honestly say we had a fabulous time and was well looked after by the staff and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had a lovely family meal in the Orchid Room where the staff were very attentive and food was beautiful. Have been doing this each year, with each getting better every time, thank you to all.

We had a swimming party for my sons 3rd birthday party. It was fab, the pool was warm, the party room was decorated and presented beautifully. The staff are friendly and very attentive and we even had a hand written Birthday card from the hotel, which is a real nice touch. I would definitely recommend it. Even my oldest son enjoyed it so much he now wants his party there too! 5

Room excellent, serviced each day. We used the indoor pool each day, one day we were swimming and watching a storm hammering down outside, made us feel good! The meals were excellent, a carvery type meal every night Had tea on the lawn one afternoon. Plenty to see and do in the area. All the staff were polite and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our stay, we and dogs were made to feel very welcome and the food and service was first rate. The grounds were very well kept and we will definitely return, thank you Langstone Cliff Hotel staff for your exceptional hospitality.

Returning once again. Feel at home within minutes of arrival. Usual friendly staff. Decided to park on main car park this time, didn't want to risk another broken window, pesky seagulls. Week went too fast. Meals up to usual standard. Sandra and Jane welcomed us back and attended to our every needs. Room just as we remembered it. Only problem there, noisy water flow from other rooms when taps turned on. Not an easy solvable problem. I had ordered the sun but unfortunately not one of the better years. Rained quite a lot. But plenty of room indoors to sit and contemplate the weather whilst eating or drinking from a fine selection of food and drink. The free Wi-Fi means at least entertainment available at all times. Just a pity no hotel entertainment. Used to enjoy the shows they put on. Never mind back in October for that. Forgot to book our usual room for next year, but don't worry we will do that in October. See you then.

I enjoyed my stay here having booked a sea view room. Positives: Lovely breakfast with traditional English or poached haddock and eggs etc. comfortable and quiet room Very clean Excellent free Wi-Fi Friendly and fast check in/out Negatives: Don't be put off by the approach to the hotel which is grim. It looks like Butlins but rapidly improves. The sea view is really the railway line view but I never heard a train. Overall this is a pleasant place to stay for a night.

Slightly overpriced swimming session, pool not very clean, good children's area, again a bit dirty. Outside play equipment verging on dangerous, wooden play area needs completely replacing, wood rotting. Food overpriced.

This is our fifth stay at the Langstone Cliff Hotel and like many other guests we return because of the great stay we have. Great facilities and ideally located near to Dawlish and very close to the train station. The hotel staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Took the wife and two grandchildren for a three night break. It was excellent. A really friendly family hotel with brilliant staff — many of them appear to have been there for years, and this continuity is reflected in the excellent level of service. Sea facing family room was roomy and spotless with bath, shower, trouser press, tea making facilities, etc. Restaurant, bar and food choice were all very good. Indoor pool and playroom was used by the grandchildren who soon made new friends. Many returning guests, who all speak very highly about the hotel. Child friendly and not pretentious, so the grandchildren felt comfortable and had a great time — especially as a children's entertainer and a magician were there on two evenings. So, overall it was brilliant and we'll be back.

I've stayed at many hotels over the world and this is the most friendliest, cleanest and best priced hotel EVER. Just love it. I attend a dance week each February, and every year our numbers grow because of the feedback we give everyone, concerning our fun week at this establishment. Having been in the hospitality business myself for some years I really cannot fault this hotel. Its family run, which I think is its secret.

My niece got married here. Not sure what I was expecting but the Langstone far exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were brilliant (I'm disappointed I didn't get to use the pool). The bar prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. The grounds are beautiful — a perfect setting for a wedding. The wedding party I thought were well catered for in every aspect. We managed to get into our room early which was fab as we had travelled from London and wanted to freshen up. I would highly recommend this hotel for whatever need. I want to come back soon.

It was our first visit to this delightful family run hotel. We came for a few days which included a jazz weekend. We absolutely loved everything about Langstone Cliff. The cheerful staff couldn't do enough for you — extremely professional and very helpful and friendly. Congratulations to the brilliant chef, his team and restaurant staff — delicious food. The way they managed to cater for a large appreciative group of jazz lovers as well as for other residents and visitors was amazing. We were blessed with good weather, but with so much to do and many facilities to enjoy it wouldn't have mattered. We really hope to visit again as soon as we can. Thank you.

Frannkly we were disappointed. Our room was changed a day before we arrived from a sea view to a standard, I was called about this and agreed, the reason we were given was a leak in the room we had planned to occupy which could not be fixed in time (? ). What we did not realise was that a standard room was out back in an annex, with no view of anything. The bed was barely a double size, the room was damp and overheated, to get to the room we had to walk past the hotels laundry which stank of damp. The room had only instant coffee and no bottled drinking water. The decoration is dated and the dining room (actually a concert hall) and the bar were very averagely furnished. Free Wifi was good. Breakfast buffet was adequate but certainly not outstanding. Staff were friendly enough and helpful when required. For the above delights we were charged £130 for the night reduced from £190 due to the room change. The deposit for the single nights accommodation was £100 — but this still got us a room change. This is more than we get charged for a room in London with much better facilities. This cost was for an out of season room in Devon. We will not be back.

My wife and I visited the hotel for a folk dance holiday over the weekend of 3 — 6 October. The dancing was very good but it was the ambience created by the hotel and it's staff that made the weekend complete. They were friendly and accommodating. The room and hotel facilities were excellent but it was the food which deserves a special mention. We have a lactose free diet which can cause problems when away from home but the hotel coped in exemplary fashion and never made us feel like second class citizens or as if we had no choice about what we were given.

We have stayed at 5-star hotels which do not come up to your standard. The room passed my wife's cleanliness test with flying colours. The beds were first class. The food was plentiful and delicious — the staff were splendid. The lounges are superbly comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff were wonderful. The grounds, with the sea views and gardens are truly splendid. The location and nearby train station could not be bettered. We will without doubt book for next spring.

No matter how many stars a hotel has or how much you pay there will occasionally be things that go wrong — or, because we are all different, there will be things that some people like whilst others prefer something else. In a busy hotel where guests check in, check out, want different things it is inevitable that things cannot always meet individual expectations. The secret is, how does the hotel respond to this? Good hotels have their finger on the pulse of the whole hotel and of each individual guest — and the Langstone does this better than any hotel I have ever stayed in (including many 5 star places in capital cities). Owner Geoff Rogers is clear — tell us about what you like or what has gone wrong and we'll do something about it. And he does. It is what the Langstone does so wonderfully. Nothing is ever too much trouble, no stone is left unturned in the quest to provide the best service and experience possible. My family and I have been regular guests — 3 or 4 times a year for many years. We are not alone in this — each time we return we see old faces also returning for their break by the Devon sea. We are always warmly welcomed, we always say how wonderful the food is and how marvellous the staff are. Our rooms are always a pleasure to return to — and, we have found every single time that we have visited that we are going to a hotel where people care — about the job they do and the experience that they provide — and, most importantly, about every individual guest.

For the second time staying at this hotel we were not disappointed and as before all the staff were extremely helpful and made us feel really welcome. Our two rooms were clean and welcoming. We took our 2 grandchildren and they had a wonderful time in the pool and playing in the grounds. The only possible negative side was not having a small fridge in the room where we could have kept bottles of water nice and cool. We would definitely stay here again and are already planning when.
