Went for a meal with friends last night, I ordered cod and chips and unfortunately it wasn’t fresh so I was quite disappointed. Don’t the the table had been wiped down as when I put my drink down it was crummy, also had to ask for cutlery. Sorry I won’t be re rushing back!

We stayed at the Haymaker for a weekend in July.
Honestly can say we had the best time. Love the hosts, we ate, drank, laughed and generally were made so very welcome by the locals.

We had a take a way lasagne last night for the family. Arrived on time, good portions with some left over and hot on arrival. Fantastic service and meal.

Lovely place, people who run the place and there staff are very friendly. Food is exceptional, on a couple of occasions now there's been a few of us, and the orders all came out together and the food was piping hot. Some friends of mine stayed here as B&B customers and they also said it was lovely, room was nice and clean and inviting, and the breakfast was amazing. All in all highly recommended!

Good place to stay, rooms of a good size as is shower room and very clean. The host and his team are very friendly and will do anything for you. The food is excellent and at a fair price everything is cooked to order so there may be a delay at busy times but well worth a wait, breakfast is good a full choice of eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms etc toast cereal yoghurt as well. Would definitely book again next time we go south visiting. Many thanks to all the staff.

Today we had a lovely meal at The Haymaker. Not only did I have a lovely vegan burger they also had several vegan deserts to choose from! I had the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. The Haymaker is now going to be our regular. Superb!

Great place — — Really friendly and obliging. We visited at lunchtime on a Saturday as a pre-arranged stop for our cycling club. After travelling some 40 miles on a very hot, clear day, partly through the Blackdown Hills, the site of this pub, up yet another steep hill was most welcome. We were made welcome, fed and watered efficiently; the "watering" most particularly!

Delicious food. Friendly atmosphere and polite helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

Decent little country pub. Public bar and separate restaurant area available. Free on-site parking. Beer garden with tables and parasols. Children and dog friendly!

We did a Christmas meal for around 30people, a really good meal served, there was plenty of roast potatoes and veg to choose from, lovely cooked meat with all the trimmings. And brilliant service all at a reasonable price, will b going again.

Just want to say a massive thank you to you all at the Haymaker Inn for pulling off a great day for my Dads surprise 60th birthday lunch! We had a total of 24 people for the lunch and you catered for it brilliantly. The food was delicious and all came out promptly and hot. You were really accommodating when I wanted to arrive earlier in the day to decorate the table and you even made sure the bar staff knew the booking was a surprise for Dads arrival. A great day was had by all. We are booked in again for boxing day! Thank you again.

Great food in a lovely countryside pub with the friendliest and most helpful staff.

Delicious Sunday lunch, 2 pork, 1 beef, more than ample meats served with a Yorkshire pud, lovely big roast potatoes and a good selection of veg as well as a big gravy boat. Puddings after, 1 lemon cheesecake and 1 strawberry meringue both with lashings of cream. Well worth a try anytime for drinks and food as well, lots of choice and daily specials. Would recommend without hesitation.

Great Sunday lunch here. Very friendly staff looking after us. Extensive menu. Suitable meals for younger folks too. Will go there again next time I'm in the area.

Been here this evening for a meal. The food was amazing. Good beer too. A very friendly aposphere with great food and my husband said it was a perfect pint of doombar. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely amazing! The best place I have stayed since being diagnosed celiac in 1995! Excellent evening meal. Wonderful gluten free breakfast, with gluten free cereals, full English breakfast including vegetarian, gluten free sausages and gluten free toast. By far the best breakfast ever. The landlord and landlady were great as were all the staff. Even more wonderful they understood gluten free and cross contamination, which meant I could eat with peace of mind and not worry about being ill. Thank you so much. We will definitely visit again when in the area.

Made very welcome on arrival. Bar staff elderly lady and gentleman not friendly at all and made us feel uncomfortable. Breakfast and room were excellent.

Lovely country pub a couple of minutes drive from Chard. The food is fantastic, and very good value for money. Good size portions too. Plenty of parking at rear.

Only a 10 minute drive from the M5. Beautiful scenery with plenty of things to do in the surrounding area for families. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff and management. Outstanding food and the staff are happy to adapt to any dietary requirements. 10 out of 10 visit. Couldn't fault them.

Tim and Gill have been running the place for 7 weeks and they provide great food, a great service, sell great beer / nice wine and they welcomed us and our friends Paul and Ali very warmly. They couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks guys. I am only too pleased to recommend The Haymaker as a great B&B experience with the added benefit that it also a nice pub serving great food.
